    Chocolate Hazelnut croissant

Really good pastries and super fresh. Especially like the Kouign amann and the chocolate hazelnut croissant. Its super crowded but they're also super efficient, b A bit difficult to find seats unless you'd like to sit outdoor.

This latte was super yummy and I liked the vibe in the cafe! I studied there in the morning during a weekday and it wasn't too busy. I wish there was a bit more separation between the loud space downstairs and the table space upstairs, maybe they could move the speakers downstairs. Other than that, their pastries are super yummy and I liked their quiche when I had it last year.

This is my first time that I visited this establishment. I was pleased to see plenty of seating upstairs. We got there at 11:30 and I would disappointed that. A lot of the items were sold out. I will definitely be back more of their dessert items. The pan of chocolate a lot with almonds looked delicious, yes I'll try that next time. We ended up sharing two sandwiches- the tuna, and the French, they kindly cut it three ways for us. The sandwiches were OK the bread am I cut up the roof of my mouth. The star of the show was lemon meringue pie it. It was one of the better that I've ever had the lemon filling was sweet and meringue was perfection. The opera lake was also amazing. I ordered a tea and I was scared to carry a huge cup filled the top with hot water upstairs so the gal behind the counter kindly brought it upstairs for me, very kind. The chocolate croissant with almonds looked really delicious so I'll try that the next time I stop by

We visited The French Guys at University Village on a busy Saturday afternoon. The shop was packed with people working and studying, and there was a line to order. Fortunately, the line moved fast, and we got lucky finding a table upstairs. Since it's such a popular spot, many items were already sold out, but they still had plenty of bread options and pastries left. We ordered a Chocolate Eclair and a Pistachio Blossom. Chocolate Eclair: This was very good. The choux pastry was slightly dry, but the ganache inside made up for it. It was incredibly smooth and rich in chocolate. Pistachio Blossom: This was the highlight. Often, you can't really taste the nuts in pistachio desserts, but the flavor here was distinct and authentic. It wasn't one-note or boring at all; it had great complexity with different textures (smooth cream, crunchy tart shell, soft filling) and layers of pistachio flavor ranging from the filling to the delicious pistachio butter on top.

I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this bakery. The interior is beautiful, and the customer service was excellent. Unfortunately, the food was just average and didn't really stand out or leave a lasting impression. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't something I'd go out of my way for. If you're in the area and looking for a quick stop, it may be worth a visit, but I wouldn't consider it a destination bakery.

We arrived before the long line... loved the wall design and motif (Roosters)... even one of the bathrooms had adorable chicken wallpaper! We ordered several items, including an almond and raspberry croissants. We went upstairs to find even more seating and adorable decor! If I am ever back in the U village, I would definitely come back. Everything was wonderful!

Located by the kids play area (8/9/25)

I decided to detour to University Village to check out the second location of The French Guys (8/9/25). As point of reference, their shop is proximate to the children's playarea. Unidirectional entry and with a line, this give one ample time to look at the pastry case. It is slightly bigger than their Capitol Hill site. There's some indoor seating on main level and mezzanine, plus the public outdoor seating throughout the mall grounds. The interior was sleek and spare, but the large chandelier was eye catching. Service was pleasant and expedient. I ordered a pain au chocolat, caneles, and opera cake for takeout. Decent, but I'll pass on the pac.

Full transparency, this review is for a single item so you could have a completely different experience if you try something else, but the Paris Brest was a really big disappointment. The choux pastry was incredibly dried out and chewy in an unpleasant way. The cream had a nice hazelnut flavor, but texturally was extremely hardened - think buttercream that was kept way too cold. This location of The French Guys is located in the UVillage mall and has additional seating upstairs. Went in on a Sunday at 3PM and while there was a bit of a line to buy pastries, there was plenty of seating with self-service water stations on both floors. I was happy to see that most of their bread and pastry options were still available at that point in the day and I would say it's a great spot to have a long conversation catching up with a friend or two. If you do go, definitely try something else on their menu.

I'm so glad that UVillage finally has more cafes and bakeries and I loveeee this place. All their pastries look so good I can't help but try 3 different things, we got the pain au chocolat, a classic, perfect amount of chocolate, the croissant was so flakey and buttery. Their hazelnut croissant is heavenly for chocolate lovers. My favorite, the pistachio bloom was delicious, it is a small tart with pistachio cream, not too sweet, light, and delicious. Everything I've had here is very good and I'm happy with it. Their pastries are a bit pricey but worth the splurge. Would come back again to try more fun pastries.

Pretty broad selection of French pastries and breads! I usually pick a sweet and savory pairing so that was the spinach croissant and chocolate French toast! Sat and ate them in their outside seating on a sunny summer day and really enjoyed my visit here. I've been here twice now (second was for a baguette only, which is a good price at $4) and both times the short line moves quickly.

First try here. We went in around 4pm Tuesday. There were still a lot of bread and pastries which I was happy as some good bakeries will not have much left at this time of the day. I purchased a variety of bread from chocolate croissants to Paris brest mostly sweets. It was alarming to see flatten baguettes in the front showcase, they were not very appealing and I didn't get them. I love baguettes but they need to be high quality I mean crispy crust with open crumbs. They had samples on the showcase which I tried. But it was not good. A couple of croissants I got were good not the best in my opinion. My favorite croissants are flaky outside, have taste and smell of good butter, layers inside are not too chewy but soft. Sandwiches in the showcase looked really good that would be something to try next time.

While shopping at University Village we walked by this place and decided to try it, turns out it was their first day. We got a Hazelnut Croissant, and Spinach Croissant. We loved both the items we got. The service was very friendly. Will definitely be back to try their other items.

    Almond Croissant
    Vitta P.

Ordered: almond croissant No line, quick Seattle service. Don't order the almond croissant! If my taste buds are correct I believe they use there (probably) 1-2 day old croissants and made a (mid) almond filling (should not be considered an almond croissant if you can't fill it properly) and rebake them. Instead do this!!! Buy there plain croissants, go home, make a buttery, sugary, almond filling and stuff those croissants bake for 15 and omg so much better and so much more worth your money.

Our family's favorite pastry addiction has officially returned, and if you know, you KNOW. The kind of pastry that causes "we'll just stop in for coffee" to somehow become a weekly ritual. Flaky, rich, dangerously good, and worth planning your morning around. Seattle has great bakeries. Mercer Island has a gem. France would approve.

The writing had bled onto the cake, there was a crack in the frosting and it appeared that the frosting at the bottom leaned piped to the board instead of the cake. I didn't bother mentioning this at pick up because it didn't seem like the worker was also the cake person. The cake itself was a tad dry but light and airy. For the price I paid, I was disappointed by the outcome. Even if it was due to additional cake orders due to mother's day, I do expect better than this when I buy a cake from a local bakery. Also if you like crispy croissants, I do not recommend the Sichuan pepper cruffin. It was tasty but it didn't have the crisp that you'd expect from a bakery.
