This was a fantastic sailing! The ship was spacious and had plenty of seating as well as restrooms. The ship was very clean and the crew were fantastic. The 2 hour sail was perfectly for a sunny afternoon. No complaints here and can't wait to go back.

This sailing excursion was the highlight of our trip! The staff is so friendly. It's pretty clear that they are working for tips but at the same time they are very pleasant. We enjoyed our 3 hour sail on a Sunday afternoon. The sights are so pretty. You can help with the sails and or steer the boat if you want or you can just relax and enjoy the ride. Great way to spend my Sunday in Seattle!

I can't fairly give Seattle's Tall Ship less than 5 stars, because the crew members were all super sweet, the captain was informative, friendly, and funny, the boat was beautiful, and the views were even more beautiful. My complaints, and how disappointed I felt with this experience, are mostly not the fault of the boat, the captain, or the crew. The boat is large (and tall!). I guess I just hadn't realized that there would be about 70 - 80 people on the sailboat. I understand from their perspective how they'd certainly want to get as many people on board as possible. However, even for a large sailboat (and a sailboat that I believe had the capacity for this many passengers, and I think everyone had a seat who wanted one), this is a lot of people to cram on to a sailboat, IMO. I felt a little bit like a sardine in a can, and/or I felt like I was traveling on public transportation that happened to be on the water. One of my closest friends who formerly lived in Seattle for over 10 years, Ashley, is a world class sailor. (Ashley moved to Austria a few years ago, to be with her new husband.) Ashley ran the Pink Boat Regatta (America Sails for Breast Cancer Research) for several years, and I contributed to that, and I attended the fundraiser, the sail boat races, and/or the sailor party almost every year that Ashley ran this (when my health allowed). I miss going sailing with Ashley and her friends (we went sailing at other, non-Regatta times of the year), so my partner kindly thought I'd enjoy this sail to celebrate my Birthday. I thought I would, too, so I thankfully accepted this. There was a loud crying baby near us, and I have sensitive hearing. I also have a sensitive sense of smell (really all of my senses are quite a bit more sensitive than average). The baby didn't cry for the entire sail, but it definitely interfered with the peaceful vibe of the sail a bit. I wasn't able to have children, due to medical reasons, so I'm probably less understanding of things like this than Mothers and Fathers (or Grandmothers and Grandfathers) would be. My overall life doesn't include kids very often, it doesn't need to. I get along pretty well with kids when I must, but being around kids isn't something that I seek out. So this is something that I am not personally used to. We had to move our legs several times when we were seated and when people squeezed by us to move around the sailboat. Everyone in the crowd that we spoke to was very nice. I felt terrible and I felt like I was not being appreciative enough of what in many ways was a very nice experience, and I did my best to adjust my attitude, which certainly needed adjusting. After this experience, I personally would not go out in a sailboat again with more than 12 people on it. The drinks offerings on the boat were quite good, but I didn't feel like a drink last night. The snack offerings were mostly Cheetos and Doritoes. It was nice to see the sunset on the water. We had an up-close view of one of Seattle's ferries, a huge container ship (?), and a lovely sunset over the water. The city views, and the view of Mount Rainier, were quite nice. The ship captain was very considerate of people's hearing and he warned us to cover our ears when the ship fired a tiny little cannon. Cute. He also asked if anyone was celebrating a special event such as a Birthday, so I did raise my hand, and many people in the crowd cheered for my Birthday. That was nice. Thankfully he didn't ask my age. I don't mind saying that I am in my 40s, but I am kind of weird about giving out my exact age. I think someone was also celebrating a recent graduation, so the crowd cheered for the recent graduate, too. One of my favorite parts of the evening was after the sail was over and everyone had left the marina/dock except for my partner and I, and my partner and I appreciated the last vestiges of the sunset fading away behind the faraway hills. I am writing this review because there may be other people out there who might feel similarly to how I felt, and those people might want to know some of this information in advance. However, this sail would probably be a nice experience for many people, and most people on our particular sail seemed to be enjoying themselves, too. I was personally underwhelmed by this experience, but many people probably didn't (or haven't, or wouldn't) share my sentiments. So, I hope people reading my review will read the other (more positive) reviews for Seattle Tall Ship, and make an informed decision based on all of the reviews here, not just mine.

I was pulled into this by my Daughter and wife. I was not thrilled with the idea of being packed on a sailboat with 64 other people. But I'm happy to report I was wrong. The crew was a lot of fun and entertaining. The silence when the diesel was turned off and we went to wind power was almost magical. The scenery was nice and the blankets provided were quite welcome after being out for an hour. Highly recommended!

Three words for our sailing cruise: amazing, amazing, and amazing! This trip is a lovely blend of adventure and comfort. Perfect amount of scenic vistas. It was a very beautiful and very rich experience! Memorable sailing excursion with kind staff, seeing the beauty of the Seattle skyline in this wonderful sailboat. The scenery was pristine. The views from the boat are spectacular and the crew members were just fantastic - checking up on us regularly and making sure we got 100% enjoyment out of our trip. From the moment we stepped on board, the crew made us feel like part of their family. Their warm hospitality made the entire experience very special.Sailing along Seattle's waters, surrounded by stunning coastlines and the skyline, left us in awe at every turn. I even got to hoist the sails! We had the most picturesque views of Seattle throughout the journey. This sailing trip was such a memory-making adventure. With the wind in your face, we were able to sail freely without having to worry. Thanks to our incredible hosts, and the awe-inspiring scenery, it's a journey we will cherish forever. I highly recommend this experience to anyone seeking a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure on the open seas. They even fired a cannonball! The boat was really beautiful and modern, definitely an experience I would 100% repeat and recommend. The experience was truly something to treasure. I didn't want to leave the boat!

Amazing crew.. sailing with them was awesome.. the crew made the experience unforgettable , you could get easily bored after 30 minutes of sailing but the crew members made the sailing really fun especially for the kids. They have a very good sense of humor and very hospitable. They make rounds all the time and making sure everyone is having a good time, they offered blankets, hot beverages and snacks. Thank you Benjamin, Harini, Clark and Captain Nick. Highly recommended.. it's going to our core memory for sure!

They even offer local wine and brews as well as some snacks. Seattle's Tall Ship also gives back to the local community and supports local youth soccer programs. A big thank you to Ben for helping provide uniforms and new equipment to The Norpoint Soccer Club. Really enjoyed our 1pm cruise on the tall ship! It was fun to see the sails being hoisted and then stowed at the end. They fired the canon for my niece's birthday that we were celebrating. There's pretty much nothing as idyllic as a late summer sail around Elliott Bay. Captain Noah and his crew of the Bay Lady have a beautiful tall ship, and plenty of wind and gorgeous weather to play with. Making reservations online was super easy. Then you show up at Pier 66 and hang out near the marina office until a crew member comes out to collect you, about fifteen minutes prior to the scheduled sailing time. After a brief safety talk and crew introductions, the ship leaves Russell Carroll Bell Harbor under power (it's a pretty tricky harbor), and then, with help from any passengers who want to chip in, up go the gaff-rigged sails, and away you go! This 19th century-style gaff-rigged schooner even has a cannon, which was fired on a passing Argosy boat! Hopefully, they'll be able to serve drinks soon, but in the meantime, it's BYOB, though who has time to drink as you're watching the ships in the bay and the Seattle skyline go by? If you love sailing, or even if you've never been, this is a great way to spend a couple hours enjoying Seattle from the water! read more

We had the best time on our two hour harbor cruise. We were in town for the ECNL Girl's soccer national playoffs and this was the perfect rest day activity. They weather was perfect. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. They let the girls help hoist the sales. So much better than a ferry tour and less crowded. There was "no bad seat" A must do on a beautiful day in Seattle. read more

My hus and I received these sailings from our dear friend and chosen family membe for Christmas 2022. We decided to sail the week before we fly to visit her in her new home in Tulsa and for our pre-anniversary ... our TWENTY FIFTH! We ended up meeting a wonderful couple who lives in the local area and I happen to share a dock with Captain Nick at EBM, so you could say we sorta knew OF each other!! I use a wheelchair and I do have a couple suggestions for accommodations. It would be great if those with mobility challenges could board before everyone else. I am very short and I couldn't really see or experience the full sailing experience because I boarded last instead of allowing me to board before every else. I would have been able to sit up on the stern or bow deck so I could have seen better. This would have made me give a five star rating. Thank You for your wonderful hospitality and a fun two hours on Elliott Bay in the warm late summer sunshine and breeze! read more

This is a great way to see the Seattle skyline. We took our out-of-town friends for the sunset cruise. We were lucky to have very good weather. The crew is friendly and efficient and there were plenty of seats and places at the railing of the boat to take pictures and enjoy the scenery. I highly recommend this tour and I know I will be doing it again. read more

A group we were with chartered the Bay Lady for a dockside happy hour and sunset sail, and it was really wonderful. The Captain and mates were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. And encouraged us to join in and hoist the sails. It was a chilly but beautiful night, with gorgeous views and sunset. Absolutely recommend. read more

We LOVED our sail with Seattle's Tall Ship! We took a sunset cruise in early July and it was such a great time. Captain Anthony was superb - he was so funny and personable, but also so good at maneuvering the ship. The other crew members where great too! Ben was the best though. He was so freaking funny and also quick with the drink refill :) everything was great. TAKE THIS CRUISE. There's wine beer and seltzer available to buy on board and bags of chips. There's a restroom as well. read more

This is the crew's second summer in business, but don't let that deter you, the captain is a seasoned veteran and knows his craft. He and his crew do agreat job of sailing the vessel, but an even better job of making the excursion pleasant and fun. Pro tips: bring a light jacket, even on a hot day, sunscreen up, bring a hat that won't blow off. read more

Captain Noah and crew were truly amazing! We had a group of 10 visiting from out of state to celebrate a birthday and wanted to find things to do while we were in Seattle. We came across the Tall Ship on Trip Advisor- the trip was very reasonably priced, easy to book, easy to find on the pier and the staff was easy to answer all questions over the phone prior to arrival. We were beyond thrilled with the whole experience- from Booking to disembarking. The crew has a bar onboard which is very reasonably priced ($25/bottle of local red blend- DELICIOUS!!). They request patrons help out up sails which was a lot of fun for our party. Truly highly recommend. I'm so happy we found this excursion, we couldn't be happier!! Also, they have small snacks as well as water resistant blankets onboard which came in handy on our rainy, windy, sail. I am one who does not like being wet, I'm an Arizonan at heart and feel like I'll melt in the rain however; the trip was so amazing I didn't even notice. read more

One of the highlights of my trip to Seattle last May. It's a must if you visit Seattle. The trip is about 2 hours and you will have stunning views of Seattle! The staff were friendly and helpful. Seattle's nice enough, but I am not a city girl, and was starting to feel claustrophobic. When I learned of the opportunity to go sailing (on a tall ship, no less! Be still my pirate heart) I jumped on it. The super friendly crew, the captain that was clearly in love with his own ship, and the mini functional cannon were an added bonus. We went on on a two hour tour around the harbor, with no destination or goals, except to enjoy the adventure. This was not a guided tour of the city or the bay. You're out there for the joy of sailing! Still, they were able to answer quite a few questions about the Seattle skyline, the other boats on the harbor, and natural features - we were able to see Mount Rainier that day! Questions about the ship were also happily answered, and if we wanted to help set sails or steer, we could, but it was not a requirement. The crew made sure we understood what we were doing and assisted as necessary. They also made sure we were having fun and weren't feeling excluded. You can bring your own food and drink, they provide coolers on board. They did have some snacks available for sale, but I never ventured that far into the ship - the view was too spectacular. I forgot to take my motion sickness medicine, but fortunately didn't need it. I also forgot sunscreen, and ended up a little sunburned. Hats can easily blow off out there, so make sure you use one that can be tied on. The website was easy to navigate, and tickets a breeze to purchase. Be sure to check the weather in advance to ensure that you get an ideal sailing experiment. They called the morning of the cruise to make sure I knew where to go and what I could (and should) bring. I would definitely go again! read more

What a relaxing trip around the harbor! I loved that the crew offered for us to help hoist the sails if we wanted, and there wasn't a narrated tour which allowed us to enjoy the peace of the water and scenery. I also enjoyed the BYO aspect for food and beverages. I really enjoyed this experience and would highly recommend it! read more

The crew was so great, they let me son steer the ship, and we got to raise the sails (of whatever it's called hahah) It starting raining (it's Seattle) and they had blankets and checked in on us a ton. One crew member told lots of Dad jokes about pirates and sailing, so funny. Definitely worth the price read more

Nice way to get out of the city heat. From a seaside town so an evening cruise seemed fun and it was. Crew were friendly, attentive. On board drinks nice and fairly priced. Ticket price itself is not inexpensive but for a special trip treat not bad. Would I do it again when in Seattle? No, I would take the WA State Ferry across to Bainbridge. Round trip is under $20 without a car. Grab a sandwich at Pike Place and have a picnic onboard for a song. read more

This was a fun, low-key but unique experience. What a privilege to be on a large sailing vessel. Skyline views and photo ops were amazing. They will celebrate your birthday with a small canon. (It is really small but quite loud!) Best part was being able to help lift the sails. Polite and capable staff. 100% recommend. read more

Our party arrived at the Ye Olde Curiosity Shop at 7:04 for our 7:00 pm tour and asked the worker where the tour meets to which the rude worker just replied under their breath, "they left" and returned to work.I explained that I understood we were late but were hoping we could catch up with them. I asked that same worker where the tour meets and they said, "In a big group outside" and continued to work. While we were on the pier in Seattle this information was not helpful. Trying to salvage the night, we went outside and tried to walk around and look for a "big group of people" on the crowded Seattle pier on a Saturday night. After a few minutes I went back inside he shop frustrated and asked the worker if they could find someone that was actually helpful that could answer some questions. With some reluctancy this person called their accommodating manager who explained that the tour heads to the right and described exactly what the tour guide was wearing. Ultimately we were unable to catch up with our tour guide because of how much time was wasted with this worker who was unwilling to help us at all. Again I understand we were late, but stuff happens. This place needs to hire people who have customer service skills.

I find the staff very welcoming and friendly and helpful. The officers including the captain are always willing to take a picture and chat for a moment. The food is great, especially the specialty dining. I love it. I've been on three this year and have booked another one for December.

Our sail on Seattle's Tall Ship was a wonderful experience! An excellent choice for date night (or day!) or an evening with friends. The deck is spacious and comfortable (seated or standing) with plenty of drinks (alcoholic and non) for purchase. Captain Noah and the crew are all wonderfully friendly and interesting people to chat with! The views back into the city don't get much better than this, but keep your eyes peeled for wildlife too! I booked this 2-hour cruise as part of our our 12-year anniversary celebration and we had a wonderful time. The captain and his crew were fantastic and everyone on the ship enjoyed both their lively banter and the spectacular views of the Seattle skyline. It was very peaceful gliding around Elliott Bay once we got under sail. One of my favorite memories is when Captain Noah fired his miniature cannon right from the deck. So my girlfriend really loves the water and so do I. I signed us up for one of the daily excursions out of Seattle. The weather was supposed to be really bad, but it ended up being pretty mild. We even had some blue skies eventually. The crew was friendly and accommodating. The ship was great! Beautiful sunset sailing cruise on Elliot Bay. Staff was obviously highly trained but also very personable and made a point to interact with every passenger. Passengers were encouraged to participate in raising the sails and piloting the boat if they wished. The views were spectacular--Mount Ranier and Seattle offered stunning photo ops.
