Went to the Seaview Bistro for lunch and we were seated outside with a beautiful view of the water. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, perfect for a midday meal. The waitress and staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit. They even held the doors open for guests walking in and out, which was a nice touch. I started with the Thai chicken wings as an appetizer. The flavor was decent, slightly sweet with a bit of heat, but nothing that stood out. I was hoping the wings would be crispier since the skin ended up a little rubbery and soggy. For my entree, I ordered the Connecticut-style lobster roll. The presentation was impressive and I appreciated the lemon wrapped in a mesh bag to keep seeds off the food. The lobster itself tasted fresh and buttery, but for forty-two dollars, I expected a bit more meat. It felt a little light for the price. The sweet potato waffle fries on the side were the highlight for me. They were hot, crispy, and had great texture. Overall, the experience was pleasant. The view and the service were great, and parts of the meal were enjoyable. That said, I did not find the food memorable enough to rush back anytime soon. read more

I've been here a few times while staying at the resort. Basically you're paying for the views and the ambiance. They have live music at times. The food is pretty atrocious here and it's a shame because it's such a nice venue. Don't bother with the over $40 lobster roll because it'll come well done and dry, better off driving a few minutes down the road for a cheaper and better one. The wings are decent. The steak tips are also pretty atrocious. Small portion, overcooked, nothing different than a dinner I could've made at home. Also the last time I was there a person from a table close to me said they waited for their food for an hour and their burger came out burnt. Loll! Really wish the quality matched the price because the resort is pretty nice. read more

The view is actually worth an extra star! This made the whole experience really great despite the somewhat lackluster food. The drinks were great! I got the Waters Edge punch which was the perfect quintessential summer punch and it was delicious!!! My husband got the lemonade which he also thought was good. For food - we ordered the burrata salad. It was ok. It needed salt and the burrata itself was alright but not amazingly creamy and delicious like it usually is. But it was fine. We also got the bourbon teriyaki steak tips which were a disappointment. Instead of nicely grilled tips, we got these tiny pieces of steak that looked like they were cooked on a griddle instead of the grill. They lacked flavor. The sauce they served them with tasted like sour cream sprinkled with chives. Just not that amazing. All and all - we were just grabbing an afternoon snack to hold us over until dinner and this did the job. The drinks and view made the experience just fine but I'm not racing to come back for delicious food. read more

I came here for lunch while visiting the resort for the day with my parents. We were seated outside and we're quickly brought water. There are a good amount of options on the menu for both large and small plates. I will say that everything is pretty expensive, I got a bowl of soup and it was $10! It didn't even come with crackers or bread. My mom got a Cobb salad and it was $16 without any meat, adding chicken ended up being and additional $7. Despite the cost, everything was very good and well cooked. I will also add that the food took a very long time to come out, almost an hour. Considering we got soup, salad and a fried calamari it meant the kitchen was short staffed or there wasn't enough waitstaff. Overall the food is good but very expensive and slow service. read more

Nice lunch at the Seaview bistro at waters edge resort in Westbrook . The outdoor dining is excellent especially during a beautiful fall day in New England. The staff was very attentive and the foods was good. I started with 6 blue point oysters that were fresh and flavorful. You can taste the NE saltiness verses the southern oysters. The lobster roll was good served warm with melted butter. Although I prefer my lobster with mayo this one was good tasting with generous amount of lobster. A suggesting for the manager is they should have light music in the background in the outdoor dining area it would improve the ambience and make for a more enjoyable and fun lunch. The location and decor is splendid. You can see the beach and Sound. Beautiful views! Presentation is great. Food looks great on the plate. Lots of options from seafood to steak. The food itself was average at best. No flavor to anything we had. Steak seemed unseasoned and was bland. Lobster roll was average. Mashed potatoes were like something out of the supermarket - just straight tasteless. In other words, nothing bad. Just nothing worth going out to dinner at a restaurant. The real issue on how to rate this place is the price. It's really expensive for food so average. But the atmosphere and views are worth something. You don't get to hang out in a place like this for free. So I'm going to go straight down the middle. 3 stars. ... I think I'd try it again but get a burger next time. The table next to us got burgers and they looked pretty good. Maybe that's the way to go? More like a burger and a beer and a view? I'll try that some day and let you know what happens. read more

This place is always packed. Good service & good food. Always eat here while staying at the resort. entertainment from music to trivia night. The only thing I'm not fond of is that you have to seat yourself...... sometimes people don't leave the tables because of what ever activity is going on. They finished eating, they just hang at the table and if you want to sit and eat, you're out of luck. I suggest an early-ish dinner on those nights. Monday night lobster pot excellent deal and fish & chips delicious. Good on site restaurant. read more

This restaurant is part of the Water's Edge Resort and Spa. The exterior of this property is very nice, well kept- the inside is as well for the most part. I had never been to this property before but my guest had. The first thing I observed was a very young wait staff. We were seated promptly and no reservations were needed. The restaurant was almost empty with the exception of us and one other table. The menu options were typical beach grille fare, but nothing to write home about or come back for either. We ordered the muscles to share and they were ok. They came out room temperature and bland definitely needed flavor. The "toasted bread " seemed to be left over table bread from the banquet hall with butter and parsley added. We received the muscles pretty quick, however our server seeming young, inattentive, and inexperienced watched us sit and wait for plates to facilitate the eating of the muscles. After a decent wait I was able to politely wave him down as he was speaking amongst the other staff not waiting on anyone due to the place being empty. Upon speaking with my guest she made the observation that the property in general had severely diminished since her last visit and that they seemed to be possibly struggling financially. The views from the restaurant were beautiful, and the location is amazing. We would definitely not recommend or return to this property for dinner or stay. If not for the amazing ocean views this property and restaurant would receive no stars. Had the service been better that could've made up for the lack luster over priced food, but it was truly lacking. Quite bad to be honest. read more
