Condo was very clean and the owner/manager was super responsive. Everything worked. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable and the view from the balcony was amazing. I had the front room and was worried about noise but I never heard anyone passing by. The other guests were quiet or we never saw them. The only disappointing thing was the pool was closed and we were not told in advance. Was it closed in order to cut down on Spring Break problems? I'll never know. read more

My family and I annually stay at the seawind condominiums the past few years now and usually enjoy our stay on the beach. I've always felt spoiled with the beach service attendants they have out here, but this year was different. Well your gonna wanna read this!! I was a little Disappointed with our condo stay here at the Seawinds Condo#807. I took months looking for a condo that would have most of my offs on my list for a family group of 7. Finally found this listing on the Southern Vacations rental website for condos in Gulfshores,AL and this room came up at the Seawinds Resorts that sleeps 8 with 2 bathrooms, has a beachfront view, is on the beach and has direct beach access! The pictures looked good and they also had a FRESH LINENS Policy that GUARENTEES clean bed linens!! Well the day we arrive first walk in the condo is so much smaller than the pictures let on! By that night as we got ready for showers we began finding things like dirty wash rags drapped over the shower rod in the bathroom and bed sheets on one of the bunk beds with big drops of blood on the fitted and cover sheet!!!! I knew then that the Clean Bed Linen promise they prided themselves in was BULL! So we stripped the bed and went in search for clean ones finding some in a closet!! The next day we go to the beach and find you have to Purchase umbrellas and chairs each day which are a SEPERATE charge all alone from the condo rental purchase!!!! $50 a day to be EXACT!! WTF!! If you want to use the condos Amenities like the pool and workout room then you have to wear the wrist bands they provide in the condo. We got 3 bands for our party of 7 which left us 4 short! I was told when I asked that we could PURCHASE MORE if we needed more than 3 bands for the 7 guests staying in our condo!!! What a CROC!! The Guest Customer Services Contact info that was provided in the condo for any Issues or Questions we had was NO HELP!! They DID NOT know what the pool hours where when asked and only could tell us that the HOA makes the hours and we would need to CONTACT THEM for Questions when they were in office Mon.-Fri. 9AM 2PM!! Needless to say that when you work hard for your money and you find the time to plan something special for you and the family to do for a vacation you do tend to hold a certain level of standards to those you are paying almost $3000.00 for a 6 night stay!! I feel like there is LESS and LESS Emphasis being put on Customer Service and Customer Care with the condo resort business industry these days and UNFORTUNATELY families who spend hard earned savings to enjoy it making memories with their family and loved ones are being the ones taken ADVANTAGE of and suffering from the Careless, Selfish, and Inconsideratly OVERPRICED INHOSPITALITIES!!! We had 11+things wrong with the condo, including ice maker, garbage disposal, toaster...didn't work. Requested a partial refund and have not heard back. Keypad on door stopped working twice. It was terrible having to deal with workers coming in and out the entire four days. We waited up to 40 minutes to get an elevator with one of the two elevators broken. read more

Staying here currently with my family and man it's been a ride. The room is ok, nothing luxurious. We stay at the Caribe normally and this was definitely a downgrade, but I digress. The room is clean and decently modern. Nice view from the balcony. There basically is no pool so if you have children that like the pool or you like the pool, it is non existent. I've been in hot tubs bigger than the pool they have here. The main reason for this review is the elevator situation. There are about 20 floors in this building with 10+ units on each floor. If you're conservative with 4 people in each unit (and let's be honest, most have more than 4), that's 800 people at minimum in this building. And they have two, that's right, TWO tiny elevators. TWO ELEVATORS. For an entire building! And then, when we tried to come up to our room on Saturday evening, one of elevators was broken. Yep, ONE elevator for the whole building on a Saturday night. So us and 50 of our closest friends (including my infant) were in the tiny sauna waiting area (because of course it's not air conditioned in the dead of the summer, don't be silly!) waiting for the SINGLE ELEVATOR to cart everyone and their belongings up 20 floors and back down. Thankfully the people around us were gracious enough to let my sister take my 1 month old ahead of everyone so that she didn't have to roast in the sauna with the rest of us. Oh and let's not forget the rude "elevator operator" who sits in a folding chair taking up two people's worth of space to press a button, as if all of us grown adults are incapable of pressing a button to take us to our floor. She's super rude and completely unnecessary. This is the first and last time I will stay here and I will not recommend this place to ANYONE. (Oh and when I called to ask about the other elevator and when it would be fixed, the property manager was miraculously unavailable. Very convenient). Oh and I forgot, the door to the stairs was locked! So you couldn't take the stairs even if you wanted to. So we were all doomed to roast alive while waiting 45 minutes to be spoken to rudely by an unnecessary "operator" just trying to get to the room we are paying an arm and a leg for. Definitely won't be back. read more

We visited this condo in August 2021. I was initially hesitant due to all the negative comments regarding the elevator. We arrived on a Tuesday and left on a Saturday. Until Saturday we didn't have to wait more than 3 minutes for an elevator. Peak weekend times, the wait was closer to 10 minutes. We took the stairs down a few times, but going up 13 flights was not on my vacation agenda haha! Parking is pretty difficult due to size of spaces, but it was easy to find spots. The unit we stayed in was well furnished and had most kitchen utensils. The condo itself was walking distance to several souvenir stores and restaurants. The Seawind Condominiums are excellent with a couple of exceptions. We found Seawind through vrbo.com. The unit we wanted wasn't available so the management company found us another unit. The new unit was listed for more, but they honored the original price since the internet said it was still available. The unit was a two bedroom with a study. The unit had free wi-fi that was reasonably quick. The master had a king sized bed, gulf view, attached bathroom and a flat panel tv. The second bedroom was loaced at the front of the unit and had a queen bed, flat panel tv and attached bathroom which was also accessible from the hall. The study had a light and bunk beds. There was a laundry room with full sized washer and dryer. The kitchen was nicely equipped with granite countertops and stainless appliances. The pots and pans were in good condition, but very minimal. If you want to make a large gumbo you would need to bring your own pot. In other condos I've rented there were usually items left by prior guests. Trash bags, ziplocs, etc. In this condo there was nothing. The living area was nice. It had a sleeper sofa, love seat, flat panel tv and DVD player and an attached gulf front balcony. The balcony was shared with the master bedroom and had two chairs and a table. The amenities for the building included a kids splash pool, Jacuzzi, indoor/outdoor pool and a grilling area. The pools aren't very large and can get crowded, but we did get alot of use out of them. There is a short boardwalk to the beach. Because we went during peak season, the beach was packed. Even though it was very crowded we had a great time there. There are several umbrella/chairs for rent as well as parasailing right next to the building's beach front. We thoroughly enjoyed the condo. The unit was clean and in excellent condition. Now for the not so great. The parking garage has an odd layout. This means some of the parking spots are on a severe angle. The angle is so severe that you physically have to prevent your doors from slamming when exiting. Old people and children may have difficulties if you use one of these spots. The other spots are very tight and finding a spot is sometimes difficult. Each unit only gets two spots so plan accordingly. The most frustrating thing about this building is the elevators. We went during peak season and during check in or check out, a 30 minute wait is not unheard of. We loaded up Saturday night for Sunday check out and didn't have problems, but when we checked in on the prior Sunday, there were no carts and the elevators were ridiculously slow. The wait for an elevator is also far too long when trying to go to the beach or back to the room in the evening. Basically, anytime you want to leave that others do too, you will be waiting. If I go back I will request a lower unit so taking the stairs isn't as big a deal. Even with the issues, this was a great condo. I would recommend it and will hopefully be able to return again. read more

We have stayed in a number of the rooms and all have been very clean. We enjoyed the condominium because of the kid pool. With three little ones they do not want to stay at the beach all day. The beach and the pool areas are kept picked up. My two negatives are the parking spot are tight especially when driving a full size vehicle. The other is the elevator, it can be frustrating when one goes down during the rush hour. I can report they (the HOA) voted to put in another elevator however I do not know the time line. read more

After a 14 hour drive and arriving on a Thursday , the next day around 11 am we were taking the west elevator up to the 17th floor and fell from the 12th to the 8th floor. My husband had a coffee in his hand and the force sucked the cup out of his hand and went up and then poured on my back and his head. HOT! IT TOOK me off my feet and I almost fell , my ankle was swollen for 4 days and I was sore all over then entire time and still am. My husband was fine. The we didn't have water for 11 hours. I called the city and they said it was on seawinds side then the lady in the office blamed the city at the end it was seawind. No apologies just a text that stated not to leave faucets on. All I can say was it was an expensive trip that I spent in pain and they never reached out to check on me and it was reported. What a disappointing trip. I don't want to say what company we booked through but they should have helped with getting at least the elevator issue for my pain addressed. Also we weren't off the elevator immediately because it said over the intercom we are ha e technically difficulties which was very scary because it could have fell again. These rooms book for a lot of money and they should care more!!!! SEAWIND I HAVE LOOKED FORWARD TO THIS TRIP FOR MONTHSvery sad at your service! The property and condominium were wonderful as far as location, cleanliness, and an accurate description. Overall we had a wonderful time. The only flaw I will point out is, if visiting during peak season, there are only two elevator for 20 floors of condominiums. Renter beware, I am not exaggerating that we waited over 30 minutes at times for a elevator. We surely would've opted to use the stairs if we would not have had a beach wagon full of stuff. Check in and check out are also rough trying to find an elevator that's not constantly full. Major, major, major design flaw. read more

This was a wonderful place to stay. Our room was 401 & we had a gorgeous view of the beach from the living room and master bedroom. Oh the ground level, there's a kiddie pool, hot tub and indoor/outdoor pools. The beach is also right there with a nice walkway that has hose stations so you can rinse off your feet to prevent dragging sand into your room. There's a restaurant right next door on the beach side of the building (sea n suds) and a Waffle House on the street side. Beach service is provided so if you don't have chairs, umbrellas you can rent them for the day. There is also an option to rent jet skis and other items for water activities. The condo was very clean and well taken care of. We had a nice size laundry room. It was perfect for our family of 6. Our condo had labels on everything....so there was no question on where items went. I appreciated that a lot! A few minor things: The elevators were a little slow and we never managed to find the weight room because the elevator in that building was not functioning. The security around there is tight, so if you plan on staying, be prepared to be flagged down and questioned. (Happened to us at least 4 times in the 3 nights we stayed). The parking lot situation is odd. You only get 2 passes & the spaces are tight. Some spaces are on an incline and I'm glad we never had to park in those areas because they look like it would be a challenge to get out of your car. We had some issues with the realty company (Turn Key) but I'll save that information for a post directly relating to them & their customer service. read more

I got stuck in the elevator multiple times and it's hard to go to sleep cause of all the cars and when ppl are at the trash chute it's easy to think your getting robbed. It's a good place don't get me wrong but when I got stuck in the elevator I was so scared I was walking up and Down 16 flights of stairs is say 5 times a day. if there was a way to leave less than 1 i would!!! this place was WAY smaller than pictures showed. it was also very dirty upon arrival. sink was stopped up in all bathrooms and kitchen, fridge doesn't work very well, floor covered in sand (carpet included), blankets in trash bags, etc. the elevators DO NOT WORK!!!! literally broke almost the entire time during our stay. volume of people is ridiculously high, so even when they are working your floor gets skipped several times. it's stated that 21 people are able to fit on elevator which is also a LIE! one of the elevator workers also mentioned the elevator broke with people inside of it?? weird to disclose that information because you find it funny... we went our first 3 days without wristbands which are required for all extra amenities. beach is not private, open to other housing quarters from across the street. so you do not have first picks on spots under condo on beach. very unprofessional staff and a lot of false advertisement!! read more

This is a privately owned condominium on the 17th floor. It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. This place is amazing and the view is out of this world. The only downfall about this place is that there are only two elevators and 20 floors of condos and penthouses. So you may have to wait for the elevators during the day and evening. The longest wait has been 10 minutes. If I were on a lower floor the stairs would be fine. Parking is great because it's three floors of covered space. It does cost $22 for the week to park. There are a few buildings with two small pools and a hot tub. The gym and pools are open from 8am-11pm. One pool is for children the other is a 4ft pool. This place is very kid friendly. The are grills and easy access points to the beach. There is not a bar but Sea-n-Suds is a bar/grill that is right next door. There are no boardwalks by this building so everyone at the beach seems to be staying here. I definitely like that about this place. read more

We stayed at Seawind Condominiums in the penthouse this year for vacation for the most part it was near perfect. We only had a few minor issues that I felt could be addressed in the unit for it to be a 5 star review. 1. Was the master bedroom bed needs to be replaced it had two body impressions and wasn't at all comfortable. 2. Was the couch covers on the couch needed to be taken off and deep cleaned due to them being white and you could see it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. 3. Was the internet I understand how it sometimes works when you are in a condo this one seemed a bit weak. Other than that it was as described and we enjoyed every second. I also understand these may not have been addressed by other guests so they could be addressed and taken care of. Over all we were extremely pleased with our stay. The views are spectacular, the unit overall is fabulous and the staff at Southern was great from making reservations to adding two additional days to our stay making it 9 total. We will definitely stay here agian . Thanks for 9 near perfect days, from riding a jet ski to parasailing rite outside the unit. We will definitely recommend Southern and this unit to anyone without hesitation. Thanks agian !!!! read more

The condo was very clean and spacious! It was well supplied with cooking utensils, and pots and pans. We did have issues with the bathroom and bedroom doors not locking. We were not left with any extra sheets, blankets, or pillow cases (which were needed because our condo slept 8 with the sleeper sofa). While we loved the condo itself, the property overall wasn't our favorite. They tell you that you have to have an orange band to access the pool and fitness center. However, there was no one checking for wristbands and people could just walk up from across the street and access the amenities. The pool is very small and quite dirty. It got overcrowded frequently. The cigarette smoking was out of this world! There were people smoking in the hot tub, on their balconies, on the beach...it was overwhelming. The beach gets very overcrowded! If you want a seat near the water, you need to get up and save a spot by 6-6:30 am. The parking wasn't too much of an issue, but it's very tight! As far as the elevators, just be prepared to wait, that's all I will say about that. This was a first time visiting Gulf Shores and overall we had a good experience, but probably wouldn't stay here again. read more

We stayed at Seawind 805 in early November. We got a great deal in off season and stayed for 7 nights. The condo was very nice and we had a gorgeous beach view from the bedroom. The balcony was a really nice size and had comfortable furniture. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and there was a full size washer and dryer. The décor was very nice. The locations of Seawind is great. We walked to Gulf Shores State Park and we also walked to the Hangout. Parking was easy, but since we were there during off season, that is to be expected. The pool was clean and heated so we could get in it even on the cooler days and the hot tub was wonderful. There is also a sauna and fitness area. read more

Seawind Condo 401 Corner Unit This is beautiful condo unit that I can highly recommend. It has three bedrooms that's ideal for friends and families. A kitchen that has all we need for a healthy meal. Also, a washer and dryer is a plus. My husband is claustrophobic, he likes to use the stairs. The condo unit is just right across the fire exit door. It's perfect for someone who doesn't like to use the elevator. It's located on the fourth floor and our car is parked on the third floor, we did not encounter any problems at all. Perfect view and good location. Love the view and the sound of the waves. We are lucky enough to witnessed some dolphins in the morning. Across the street there's Waffle House for our breakfast, sea and sands restaurant is very convenient for our lunch and dinner that is located just few steps from the condo building. They also have warm indoor swimming pool, that my kids enjoyed during our stay. We were told that there's sauna and gym, we did not tried it but looks like there's people who are enjoying it. A lot of restaurants to choose from, also it's only 10miles away from Tanger Outlet very convenient for my shopping spree day. The Management and owner are very responsive to our questions. My husband and I stayed at the Seawind in September 2015 with our 1 year old and our in laws! We loved how there was a small third bedroom for our 1 year olds pack n play, so he had his own space to sleep. The condo is perfect for children as it is right on the beach, but also has a kiddy pool and splash pad area for them to play. The unit came with a highchair and a pack n play, which was great! We will definitely be back for our next family vacation! read more
