The Seawind Condominiums are excellent with a couple of exceptions. We found Seawind through vrbo.com. The unit we wanted wasn't available so the management company found us another unit. The new unit was listed for more, but they honored the original price since the internet said it was still available. The unit was a two bedroom with a study. The unit had free wi-fi that was reasonably quick. The master had a king sized bed, gulf view, attached bathroom and a flat panel tv. The second bedroom was loaced at the front of the unit and had a queen bed, flat panel tv and attached bathroom which was also accessible from the hall. The study had a light and bunk beds. There was a laundry room with full sized washer and dryer. The kitchen was nicely equipped with granite countertops and stainless appliances. The pots and pans were in good condition, but very minimal. If you want to make a large gumbo you would need to bring your own pot. In other condos I've rented there were usually items left by prior guests. Trash bags, ziplocs, etc. In this condo there was nothing. The living area was nice. It had a sleeper sofa, love seat, flat panel tv and DVD player and an attached gulf front balcony. The balcony was shared with the master bedroom and had two chairs and a table. The amenities for the building included a kids splash pool, Jacuzzi, indoor/outdoor pool and a grilling area. The pools aren't very large and can get crowded, but we did get alot of use out of them. There is a short boardwalk to the beach. Because we went during peak season, the beach was packed. Even though it was very crowded we had a great time there. There are several umbrella/chairs for rent as well as parasailing right next to the building's beach front. We thoroughly enjoyed the condo. The unit was clean and in excellent condition. Now for the not so great. The parking garage has an odd layout. This means some of the parking spots are on a severe angle. The angle is so severe that you physically have to prevent your doors from slamming when exiting. Old people and children may have difficulties if you use one of these spots. The other spots are very tight and finding a spot is sometimes difficult. Each unit only gets two spots so plan accordingly. The most frustrating thing about this building is the elevators. We went during peak season and during check in or check out, a 30 minute wait is not unheard of. We loaded up Saturday night for Sunday check out and didn't have problems, but when we checked in on the prior Sunday, there were no carts and the elevators were ridiculously slow. The wait for an elevator is also far too long when trying to go to the beach or back to the room in the evening. Basically, anytime you want to leave that others do too, you will be waiting. If I go back I will request a lower unit so taking the stairs isn't as big a deal. Even with the issues, this was a great condo. I would recommend it and will hopefully be able to return again.

Seawind condos 906 and 607 are located right on the beach and are managed by their owners Sharyl & Walt. Both places are newly remodeled and very clean and comfortable! There is free WIFI too. You can walk out on the balcony overlooking the Gorgeous and Pristine white sand beach from the living room or the Master bedroom. Each Condo sleeps 8 with two bedrooms a "bunk room" containing bunkbeds and a pullout Queen sofa sleeper in the living room area. There's a full kitchen as well as a full laundry room. You must be at least 25 years of age to rent these condos. Restaurants are plentiful, close by and range from family style, to fast food to upscale dining. For you bargain shoppers the Outlet Mall is fifteen minutes away and contains some of the most well known and sought after stores you'll want to visit! The building has swimming pools and workout facilities as well. For bookings you can reach Sharyl at (913) 620-1375 or at sharylserafin@hotmail.com to save on convenience fees charged by VRBO. There are plenty of great reviews of these two wonderful condos as well! If you'd like to check the reviews you can go to VRBO.com and look for units: 417788 or 739071. But book directly with Sharyl to save money. She's very responsive and will get back to you ASAP!

Loved our family vacation here. Pools and common areas are clean and tidy. The beach is also clean and beautiful.

This was a wonderful place to stay. Our room was 401 & we had a gorgeous view of the beach from the living room and master bedroom. Oh the ground level, there's a kiddie pool, hot tub and indoor/outdoor pools. The beach is also right there with a nice walkway that has hose stations so you can rinse off your feet to prevent dragging sand into your room. There's a restaurant right next door on the beach side of the building (sea n suds) and a Waffle House on the street side. Beach service is provided so if you don't have chairs, umbrellas you can rent them for the day. There is also an option to rent jet skis and other items for water activities. The condo was very clean and well taken care of. We had a nice size laundry room. It was perfect for our family of 6. Our condo had labels on everything....so there was no question on where items went. I appreciated that a lot! A few minor things: The elevators were a little slow and we never managed to find the weight room because the elevator in that building was not functioning. The security around there is tight, so if you plan on staying, be prepared to be flagged down and questioned. (Happened to us at least 4 times in the 3 nights we stayed). The parking lot situation is odd. You only get 2 passes & the spaces are tight. Some spaces are on an incline and I'm glad we never had to park in those areas because they look like it would be a challenge to get out of your car. We had some issues with the realty company (Turn Key) but I'll save that information for a post directly relating to them & their customer service.

Great view of the beach I recommend but every night the TV won't load for about 30 minutes and then it works.

Fix the bathroom locks. Another elevator would be nice. Fix the problem and I will give more stars.

We were all excited because in the past all the condos have been awesome, but this one was a let down. We walked in with a few groceries, opened the fridge and we were about knocked down with the smell of spoiled seafood! I went down stairs to the check in counter to complain, and the fella was very helpful trying to get the issue fixed. He called the supervisor of the cleaning company and that man started hollering at him over the phone about what all I had complained about. The fella then gave me the phone to explain what wall I was saying, the cleaning supervisor then said that everything was inspected and it was fine. I told him to come and look and smell. He agreed in sending someone but nothing changed for the 5 night/6 days we were there. Phoenix Orange Beach #401, lacked in cleaning as well. The kitchen had nothing but small "glass" glasses to drink out of and with kids ages 3-16, 4 of them being 10 and under plastic glasses would have been much safer. The beds were comfortable, slept well but the rooms that had views to the outside only had sheer curtains and didn't block the early morning sun. The decor wasn't like the the other condos that we have stayed in in the past. The outdoor pool was extremely small to accommodate the guests. The laundry area about knocked me for a loop, you'll see in the pictures I post. The walk to the beach was just a little short jaunt which was great! That's probably the best thing about this property! Oh and the ice machine on this property is $5.00 a bag!

Positives: great venue, location, amenities (hot tub and grill on the balcony) etc. The cleaning crew is constantly working in the elevators, hallways, and in public spaces which often goes overlooked but we really appreciate it. Areas for improvement: The front desk folks need training. Every time we stopped by it was a new face...some friendly, some not. Mostly they just struggled with answering basic resort questions from us and others inquired. "How do we rent chairs at the beach?" The young lady said, "sorry i don't know." I called to check on how to use the putt putt activity. Another young voice said "you just putt the ball on the grass and hit it." I laughed, "no sorry i need to check out equipment for it right?" She said, "you can look at it first if you want." So I responded, "do you have putters and balls that i can use?" She said, "yes". I responded "how do i do that?" She said "its free to use." I asked "where do i get the equipment?" She said "at the desk". I get to the desk and they tell me "i must leave my driver license to check out equipment." That would have been nice to know before I came down, . I used to manage a community center so i get it. We just laughed it off, but some people won't so heads up!

There are three pools including a baby/toddler pool. Its not an imposing building but a small three story building and a very comfortable setting. I can't speak for all the rooms because I did see some news that had new furniture. I can speak for…read morethe room we stayed it. The outside looks better than the inside. The interior was honestly creepy. (I'll post a video.) For paying $880 for 3 days, I expected a little better. I wouldn't consider this a low budget stay at that price. If your only priority is easy beach access and you don't care much about the condition or appearance of the room, then this may work for you. What I'd recommend bringing if staying: Bathroom * Large bath towels * Washcloths/face towels * A bath mat for outside the tub * Extra toilet paper Kitchen * Extra dish soap or dishwasher pods if you plan to cook, because you're expected to wash your dishes. * A few extra trash bags since you're required to take the trash out at checkout. I also recommend washing the bedding and bringing plenty of laundry detergent. Our room had a strong, unpleasant odor that reminded me of a house that hadn't been properly maintained. If you like a clean, fresh-smelling room, bring air freshener or plug-ins. The bed was my least favorite, convenient for storing suitcases underneath. The pillows were flat and were the worst I've ever slept on, so I'd definitely bring your own. The condo does have a full kitchen, washer and dryer, dishes, and beach access, which are the biggest positives. About 36 rooms faces the beach, but many of the other rooms are interior-facing. If you're looking for a romantic getaway or a true beach-view room, I wouldn't recommend this property. It was advertised as having an ocean view, but our room did not have one. I saw only two elevators for a three-story building, and they were extremely slow. The room was outdated, the furniture was outdated, and even all three lamps were different. The electrical outlets were so worn out that plugs would fall right out. Limited plugs int he room but did have a surge protector. The bathroom only had four very thin, dingy bath towels and a few worn washcloths, so I highly recommend bringing your own towels or buying some. The $35 parking fee was also ridiculous for paying guests. Overall, We made the best of it because we came to enjoy the beach, but the room itself irritated my soul. Between the smell, outdated condition, , uncomfortable bed, and extra fees, I would not stay here again. The inside look and feel scary. like you're about to be incarcerated or a mental institution not vacationing. If beach access is all you care about, you'll be fine. But if you're expecting a cozy, relaxing condo for what they charge, prepare to be disappointed unless you get a better room than we had.
