    a worthwhile ride stop

It's been better in my past visits, or could of been my breakfast choice, service was average/good, my quesadillas not so great, popular stop for pass thru bikers

well it wasn't anything fancy but it was good! The service was fast and efficient, I love the decorum. It really feels like I just stepped into the 1960s!! This place's ambiance is genuinely just amazing, I got hot chocolate and it tasted more like water than hot chocolate. Then I ordered the full stack pancakes with chocolate in them with sausage links. It was nothing special but it tasted good. I took photos of the food this time. THE STAFF WERE SO NICE!!

    Very nice breakfast plate!

I woke up this morning with a craving for a 50s Diner experience with excellent home-cooked food and I knew exactly where to go! These fine folks have been around for almost twenty-five years and they're always busy, which should tell you something. Pro Tip #1- The late Sunday morning (11ish) church crowd is insane and is to be avoided just like you would avoid a root canal with no pain meds! Pro Tip #2- They have a dinner menu, but they close at 3pm which is downright weird. That's one hell of an early dinner! Also, they're closed on Tuesday, which is definitely unusual. Arriving- Easy on and off the Northbound side of US Route 27. Plenty of parking with 2 handicapped spots very close to the entrance. Considering the number of older retirees in the area, they should probably have a couple more spaces. Atmosphere- You have three choices for seating. You've got the counter which seats about 10 which is a wonderful choice for a single diner like me. You have the dining room which has booths and assorted tables, and you have a gorgeous outside covered patio with about six tables. BTW- the whole place is spotless! Service- I've never had a problem. My drinks are always refilled appropriately, and I'm checked on at decent intervals. I'm almost always served with a smile that's occasionally strained when it gets crazy busy. My server today had worked there ten years! Food- Classic American diner food with no surprises. You'll recognize everything. The menu is quite extensive with plenty to satisfy most everyone. The majority of the food is mildly seasoned. Nothing too spicy. Foodies will be unhappy here but everyone else will leave smiling and stuffed! From this visit, you can peruse my pics of a typical breakfast. The corned beef hash is flat out amazing, and you need to try it! You can also get it as an omelet filling. Of course, the biscuit is homemade. My meal today was a little pricier than normal because I substituted sausage patties for a pile of home fries. The meal with tax set me back $16.10. Most breakfasts are less than $10. These fine folks are a staple in the Sebring area, and you really can't go wrong if you choose to visit. Just not at 11 am on Sunday!

My meal was completely terrible. My eggs were dry, biscuits were hard as rocks and I was double charged for gravy.

In love with this place. It's feel is a Ol school dinner. Portions are large and generous and the price is below what I would expect to pay.

Over the last two months, I have eaten at Village Inn in Sebring several times. During those visits, the service was excellent, the food was consistently good, and I was impressed enough to leave a very favorable review. Today, however, was a completely different story. The restaurant was not particularly busy, yet my food took an unusually long time to arrive. While waiting, I was seated near the kitchen and could clearly hear employees engaging in loud horseplay and unprofessional behavior, which did not create a very welcoming dining atmosphere. I started with a cup of the pork green chili, which I normally enjoy. It is usually served with crackers, but none were brought out. When I asked for crackers, a cracker container was brought to the table, but the crackers inside were stale and soggy. When I politely mentioned this to my server, the response was simply, "That's how we get them," before walking away. There was no apology or attempt to correct the issue. When my cheeseburger finally arrived, it was severely overcooked and very disappointing. Everyone can have an off day, and that's understandable. What concerns me most is the noticeable difference between the excellent experiences I've had previously and the poor service and food quality I received today. I truly hope this was an isolated incident because I have enjoyed dining here in the past. For now, though, I'll be taking a break before returning.

This review covers the buffet only, but you can read my previous reviews for everything else. Ambience- Fairly large space with standard booths and tables. Everything is clean. Customer Service- Drinks refilled as needed. Plates quickly cleared and the check processed quickly. What's not to like! ACE Taco Buffet- It's in a small separate room, just off the main dining room. There are two standard buffet tables. One for hot items and one for cold. You have hard shell, taco bowls for taco salad and soft tortillas. The soft come in foil wrapped packages of three kept warm by the buffet. Nice! Start at the hot table and begin to build. For meats, you have seasoned ground beef, chicken, pork and fajita chicken with peppers and onions. Add some rice and refried beans. Oh, by the way, there was also what looked like chicken tortilla soup available. Move over to the cold table for lettuce, tomato, onions, salsas, cheese, sour cream etc. You'll also find some chocolate cake to finish off your food coma! Everything was the correct temperature and most Importantly tasted fresh and delicious. Expect to pay around $12.99 + drink. It this crazy economy, of course it could change. Conclusion- As long as you're not expecting gourmet food, I suspect you're going to give this taco experience 5 stars!

The inside dining room is wonderful! A true old-fashioned tropical feel. Our waiter was a little odd, but competent. I wasn't real hungry, so I just had a shrimp cocktail. My friend had the duck. The shrimp cocktail was delicious, the cocktail sauce, a bit spicy. Had too much pepper for me. When I mentioned that to the waiter, he told me it was not spicy. He said it only had pepper in it. I said well after I mixed it was a little better. I don't think a waiter should contradict what a customer says if there is a problem; he should help to alleviate the issue. Obviously, somebody didn't stir the cocktail sauce well, still the pepper was a bit heavy. What's troubling is I specifically asked the waiter if the sauce would be hot , as in spicy. My friend said the duck was very nice. As I recall, they served some complementary bread and it was good. I hope to go back to Palm Heights, where this restaurant is located, and I am sure to go back to Tillies.
