Pineapple, tomato & cucumber sandwich on pumpernickel bread spread with a thin layer of cream cheese Side of homemade macaroni salad

I often eat here for breakfast and am never disappointed. I recently stopped here for lunch with three friends and was very impressed with their menu options. As with breakfast, the food was very tasty and plentiful. Everyone in my party left happy and satisfied. Our server Gris, who is familiar with us, was our server. She is very friendly, always in a delightful mood and attentive. We visited on a Sunday afternoon. The place was filled and lively. We were seated very quickly. I ordered the pineapple, tomato & cucumber sandwich on pumpernickel bread spread with a thin layer of cream cheese. Excellent. I chose the homemade macaroni salad as my side. Creamy and tasty. The rest of my party ordered a bowl of chicken soup, mashed potatoes with turkey gravy and a ham & swiss sandwich with a side of apple sauce. I will definitely return for lunch again and look forward to trying the fried green tomatoes.

well it wasn't anything fancy but it was good! The service was fast and efficient, I love the decorum. It really feels like I just stepped into the 1960s!! This place's ambiance is genuinely just amazing, I got hot chocolate and it tasted more like water than hot chocolate. Then I ordered the full stack pancakes with chocolate in them with sausage links. It was nothing special but it tasted good. I took photos of the food this time. THE STAFF WERE SO NICE!!

It's been better in my past visits, or could of been my breakfast choice, service was average/good, my quesadillas not so great, popular stop for pass thru bikers

    Very nice breakfast plate!

I woke up this morning with a craving for a 50s Diner experience with excellent home-cooked food and I knew exactly where to go! These fine folks have been around for almost twenty-five years and they're always busy, which should tell you something. Pro Tip #1- The late Sunday morning (11ish) church crowd is insane and is to be avoided just like you would avoid a root canal with no pain meds! Pro Tip #2- They have a dinner menu, but they close at 3pm which is downright weird. That's one hell of an early dinner! Also, they're closed on Tuesday, which is definitely unusual. Arriving- Easy on and off the Northbound side of US Route 27. Plenty of parking with 2 handicapped spots very close to the entrance. Considering the number of older retirees in the area, they should probably have a couple more spaces. Atmosphere- You have three choices for seating. You've got the counter which seats about 10 which is a wonderful choice for a single diner like me. You have the dining room which has booths and assorted tables, and you have a gorgeous outside covered patio with about six tables. BTW- the whole place is spotless! Service- I've never had a problem. My drinks are always refilled appropriately, and I'm checked on at decent intervals. I'm almost always served with a smile that's occasionally strained when it gets crazy busy. My server today had worked there ten years! Food- Classic American diner food with no surprises. You'll recognize everything. The menu is quite extensive with plenty to satisfy most everyone. The majority of the food is mildly seasoned. Nothing too spicy. Foodies will be unhappy here but everyone else will leave smiling and stuffed! From this visit, you can peruse my pics of a typical breakfast. The corned beef hash is flat out amazing, and you need to try it! You can also get it as an omelet filling. Of course, the biscuit is homemade. My meal today was a little pricier than normal because I substituted sausage patties for a pile of home fries. The meal with tax set me back $16.10. Most breakfasts are less than $10. These fine folks are a staple in the Sebring area, and you really can't go wrong if you choose to visit. Just not at 11 am on Sunday!

Delicious when it comes to the food, from the appetizer to the desserts. Really nice place for the family and big groups.

Nostalgic feel- food has great potential, but poorly seasoned. This is a great place for elderly clients that require bland food.

My wife ordered the Mix & Match half turkey bacon avocado melt along with a cup of tomato basil soup, and both were very good. I had the grown-up grilled cheese sandwich with fries. The fries were seasoned with what tasted like a salt-and-pepper blend, which was a nice touch. Overall, the food was very good and reasonably priced. Over the last two months, I have eaten at Village Inn in Sebring several times. During those visits, the service was excellent, the food was consistently good, and I was impressed enough to leave a very favorable review. Today, however, was a completely different story. The restaurant was not particularly busy, yet my food took an unusually long time to arrive. While waiting, I was seated near the kitchen and could clearly hear employees engaging in loud horseplay and unprofessional behavior, which did not create a very welcoming dining atmosphere. I started with a cup of the pork green chili, which I normally enjoy. It is usually served with crackers, but none were brought out. When I asked for crackers, a cracker container was brought to the table, but the crackers inside were stale and soggy. When I politely mentioned this to my server, the response was simply, "That's how we get them," before walking away. There was no apology or attempt to correct the issue. When my cheeseburger finally arrived, it was severely overcooked and very disappointing. Everyone can have an off day, and that's understandable. What concerns me most is the noticeable difference between the excellent experiences I've had previously and the poor service and food quality I received today. I truly hope this was an isolated incident because I have enjoyed dining here in the past. For now, though, I'll be taking a break before returning.

Chicanes Promises Upscale Dining but Delivers an Uneven Experience…read more Chicanes carries itself like an upscale dining room, which is why the night's missteps stood out more than they should have. The evening began on a sour note, and not because of anything on the plate. A heavy downpour had turned the entrance into a shallow lake with slick footing, the kind that makes every step feel unsure. My husband took a hard fall, wrenching his back and bruising his hip. Another guest later mentioned the same slick approach, which tells me this is more than bad luck. For a restaurant that draws an older crowd, safety at the door should not be an afterthought. Inside, the welcome was much warmer. The staff was friendly and our server Ethan handled the holiday rush with calm attention. He stayed present without hovering and made sure we had what we needed. If only the kitchen had matched his level of care. The Thanksgiving menu looked promising, but the execution never quite reached the level the price tag promised. The lobster arrived overcooked and clinging stubbornly to its shell. The sauce meant to lift it fell flat. The butternut squash bisque was pleasant enough, though short on depth. The apple walnut salad was a clear winner. Crisp, balanced, and bright. It deserves a permanent spot on the menu. The entrées continued the theme of missed opportunities. The vegetables needed seasoning, especially the Brussels sprouts, which tasted like they had skipped the last step before leaving the kitchen. The potatoes au gratin stole the show, rich and comforting, which only highlighted how muted everything else tasted. For a meal tipping the scale at around $140, the food should meet the standard the setting implies. Chicanes has the bones of a great restaurant. The staff is strong, the room is inviting, and the menu choices read well. But the flavors need more care, more confidence, and more seasoning. A place aiming for an upscale experience has to deliver more than ambiance. There is potential here, but potential is not enough at this price. With steadier footing at the entrance and sharper execution in the kitchen, Chicanes could be worth the splurge. Tonight, it wasn't.

The inside dining room is wonderful! A true old-fashioned tropical feel. Our waiter was a little odd, but competent. I wasn't real hungry, so I just had a shrimp cocktail. My friend had the duck. The shrimp cocktail was delicious, the cocktail sauce, a bit spicy. Had too much pepper for me. When I mentioned that to the waiter, he told me it was not spicy. He said it only had pepper in it. I said well after I mixed it was a little better. I don't think a waiter should contradict what a customer says if there is a problem; he should help to alleviate the issue. Obviously, somebody didn't stir the cocktail sauce well, still the pepper was a bit heavy. What's troubling is I specifically asked the waiter if the sauce would be hot , as in spicy. My friend said the duck was very nice. As I recall, they served some complementary bread and it was good. I hope to go back to Palm Heights, where this restaurant is located, and I am sure to go back to Tillies.
