One of my favorite pastimes is to try a new to me privately owned breakfast joint and this great place really hit the spot! Atmosphere- Florida kitsch and local pictures is standard décor for these places at this one is no surprise and nicely done. Everything is spotless. There are three outside tables with giant umbrellas to mitigate that nasty Florida sun. They have been open about a year and a half and the place was rocking! Customer Service- Funny, efficient perfection! I enjoyed some great Black Friday humor with my server. Food- These places tend to have a standard American menu in Central Florida and I'm not complaining. No surprises on the menu; just expected American choices. I ordered my go-to Ham & Cheese Omelet and I asked them to hold the bread. Why you ask? Because the portions are so large, I never get to it. In this case, I was right again! A perfect omelet and buttery hash browns and I was in heaven and stuffed. BTW- it went for about $8.99. I love that they leave a carafe of coffee on the table. Very varied menu for breakfast, full 2 sided menu. One person ordered a cinnamon roll to start with, very cinnamony and good. One person had eggs and blueberry pancakes and enjoyed those another had eggs with French toast, another had sausage and gravy, I had the Hot Rhonda. It's a chicken breast with 2 easy over eggs on top, between 2 mini waffles with hot honey on the chicken. It's a was wonderful, loved the hot honey and it worked perfectly together with the chicken, waffle and eggs. Service was very good and apparently the new ice cream counter with 32 different kinds of ice cream is a new addition ( it wasn't open at 10 am on a Sat. morning). The restaurant has a small town cafe feel. Breakfast prices were a bit higher than other places in the areas, my Hot Rhonda was one of the cheaper items at around $10.50. I can't remember the eggs with pancakes price ( think was typically priced, omelets were higher) and I can't enlarge the menu to read the prices. read more

While the food was good, we felt it was a bit overprice! I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich which was $8.99 and came with nothing! They would be well served to add a handful of chips and a pickle! We added an order of sweet potato fries which were $4.50! hubby had a Philly Cheese steak sandwich which was $11.99.....again just a sandwich. We were looking for a restaurant with WiFi. This was not it, but we are so, so glad we stayed to eat anyway! The chicken salad melt was delicious! And my husband thought they did something magical to the Reuben sauce. The fried green tomatoes were worth the premium side price as they were crisp and perfectly seasoned, with a ranch dipping sauce. Everything that should have been crispy was, amazingly so, the bread on the sandwiches & the thick sweet potato fries (another premium side). Also, the sodas were served in enormous glasses, which didn't keep the friendly and attentive staff from offering us refills. They are only open until 2pm, but next time I drive through Lake Placid, I'll try to do it early enough to eat here again. read more

My boyfriend and I make it a point to eat at this restaurant every time we come to town to visit my family. If you're looking for southern comfort food, this is the place! Their corn bread is to DIE FOR! I switch it up to every time I go but it's all been wonderful. Our server Chris made us feel so welcomed and was so knowledgeable about the menu. Food and service, has always been pretty good. Coffee is real good. My complaint is..in a months time, prices were raised about 50%. That was a shocker. So here's the thing. We're not going back, because we can eat all we want at Golden Corral Grill for breakfast and it cost about the same as we used to pay at Glenda Jeans. plus we had coupons for $2.00 off. Thats a lot less. Glenda Jeans just too expensive for a regular breakfast. They will lose customers. Thats too bad. read more
