I bought a disposable pool for 3750 at this place and clearly explained to them that I needed everything to be assembled so Rudy said sure no problem I know a guy that can take care of that for you. So then the installer that was recommended shows up builds the pool (easy part) and leaves without building the ladder. Not going to fly. I called the store and I spoke to " no good" Gus about the situation and he advised that he would do it since the installer that they referred failed. 4 hours later I get a call saying that they were not going to install it after all because of liability issues. So I advised no problem I will sign a liability waiver. They advise no we can't do it and that it easy to install. I advised Gus I don't care if it easy to install I paid for the pool and installation and I was not going to install it. I missed a days work for a horrible experience. The ladders that they sell you for the above ground pools are in a box in a thousand pieces. If you pay for installation and are a busy person like I am make sure you get it in writing that they will install the ladder. I talked to the manager to come to a resolution but was met with negative results and with a negative attitude. I asked them to simply refund me for the ladder if they didn't want to install it and they refused. Don't do business with these people they are very expensive, very lazy and won't do anything to make things right. read more

Since the Covid pandemic and keeping social distances, my family and I were looking for a above the ground pool. Well came to find out a lot of other pool companies sold out of above the ground pool because assuming people are staying home because of the virus. But Secard Pools in Pico Rivera at the time had several pools available. Yes! We purchased a 14xx22 rectangle pool with maintenance tools and ph/chlorine test (shockers and tablets). Greg the manager helped us out with the purchase and answered all our questions and recommended things we needed and don't need. Greg was very helpful. Ive only had the pool up for a couple of days, it's really nice. I bought the 14x22 above ground pool. Super spacious. Gus was very nice. The only down fall was preparing and leveling the yard before we had it installed. I would of hired someone to do it. It was not fun. This is our second above ground pool we bought from secard pools. My first purchase with Secard was 22years ago. I bought the 9x18 pool, I was so impressed with the service (Greg). Its still swimmable, but a little awkward and heavy to put together for a couple ready to retire (husband). So this time we purchased a round 13ft x 52 pool. We walked in, saw what we wanted, and we was home with the pool in less then a hour. It was so easy to put together, with the help of my son, husband and I we had it up, the ladder assembled, and having dinner in less then 2 hours. I feel like a kid again. This review is for the Islander Pool as well as Secard. We have had our pool for about 9 years in the San Gabriel Valley. Greg worked with us on the original installation and is still there today and did a great job. However, I want to point out the maintenance items for prospective buyers. They have demos in the front of this store for you to check out. Installation Keep in mind the schedule related to the liner and labor. We waited an additional 4 months because the liner wasn't stocked for our installation. Labor was straight forward but does require excavating and wood frames built and sand shaped. You get a good training session after installation. Vinyl Pool Soft vinyl pool, no scrapes, feels great. However it does take a beating from the sun and we have changed our liner already once and I have to do it again. Each liner replacement is around $2,000. I have also changed out the pump in the past and looks like I will have to do it again. The sun did a number on our pool the last few years and it has eroded and started separating to reveal the foam underneath it. I had to patch several areas of the liner this season but it needs to be completely replaced now. We bought the underwater vacuum originally, its not cheap and it didn't work for us and never really worked properly. It often was stuck in one location. I manually vacuum now. I also bought a solar cover years ago and it did a great job keeping the pool warmer and debris out. After about 3 years, this cover also needs to be replaced due to the sun making it more brittle. Chemicals We treat the pool regularly, more in the summer swim season. We run the pump about 8 hours during swim season and 2-4 hours during the off season. You can't drain this pool as the water helps keeps the liner in place and prevents it from dragging down. Filter The pool pool skimmer is at the top of the pool. So it only does a good job of floating debris. Anything that settles to the bottom will need to be vacuumed out as there is no skimmer at the bottom just a big soft vinyl liner throughout the pool. Cleaning the filter is a pain, after a while it gets harder and harder to put the filter back in and closed properly. Costs This is the main reason we bought the pool. Our cost was around $13,000 for our size and installation but keep in mind you will be spending around $2,500 in maintenance of the liner and pump every few years and these aren't costs that the warranty covers. Overall Overall we like the pool, but starting to question the costs associated with maintaining this down the line versus joining a facility with year round swimming. Keep in mind the pool requires a lot of maintenance. We pay for the convenience and fun of having our own pool, especially with the SGV heat and the kids love it. My husband and I want to thank you for your help in our decision to purchase a home spa. When we first came into your store, we had no real idea of what we wanted; you gave us crash course in spas. Everything from styles, sizes, materials, optional equipment, and warranties. You encouraged us to visit other stores and do some research ourselves. No hard sell. We did just that and because of honesty and helpful information, we felt confident in returning to your store to make our purchase. Your delivery coordinator called us the nest day to set up a delivery date and time. The following week our spa was delivered on time as promised. Your delivery people were the best! Over the spot where the spa was to be placed, we have a "Home Depot like" gazebo. The opening to the gazebo too narrow to slide the spa into. Instead of your men saying "sorry lady, call us when you've moved the gazebo", they unbolted and removed the side of the gazebo to accomodate the width of the spa and slid it right into place. In addition, they did this with smiles on their faces. They were fantastic. We will be recommending your store to any friends and family members interested in purchasing a home spa. We have an in-the-ground vinyl pool that is about 4 feet deep. We have had it for over 30 years. During all this time we have never had any problems getting in or out of the pool. But now that we are a bit older and experiencing mobility problems we find that the two-step pool ladder is too hard for us. So I looked up on Yelp for vinyl pool companies and found Secard Pools and Spas. I went to their web site and left a message asking if there was some type of step system that would work for in-the-ground vinyl pools. When I did not get a reply the next day, I called their Pico Rivera location and talked to Greg Budinko, manager. He recommended the "Royal Entrance" step system. He said that although it was meant for above-the-ground pools it would work. I made an appointment to see him the next day. Later that day I received an email from Bob Cannon, Operations Manger of Secard Pools. He also recommended the "Royal Entrance" and sent me a photo. The next day I went to the Pico Rivera location and talked to Bob Budinko in person. He gave me a good overview of how the step system works and what I could expect to install it. I decided to purchase the "Royal Entrance." Mr. Budinko also said he would deliver it to my home free of charge. I received the "Royal Entrance" this past week and with the help of a buddy we had it set up and installed in about 3 hours. I did have to go to the local hardware store to get a concrete drill bit and concrete "TapCon" screws. After installing it my buddy and I tried it out and it worked great. The next day our son and family came over to use the pool. Our oldest grandson is 2 1/2 and the steps were great for him. He was just too small to use the ladder system, but easily managed the steps. My wife was able to easily get in and out of the pool for the first time this year! I can truly recommend Secard Pools and Spas, and the two managers I had contact with, Bob Cannon, and especially Bob Budinko, the manager of the Pico Rivera location. This is on the installation side. A installer named Dustin from this location, 951-543-3175 is terrible. No customer service, Over an two late on a sat- had to call him to find out if he is coming. The quality of work was worse. Should have bailed when he showed up- just by the way he walked into the backyard looking at the pool without saying a word to me- no introduction, nothing., but wanted to get the pool liner in. Dustin and his crew were rude, destructive-( broke my handle on the facet to the house)- claimed like a small child nope, we did not do it- and did a very poor job installing the pool liner. Installed the liner over a couple of rocks? so basically it will rip in a very short period of time. Of course no warranty, no nothing. Expensive also. Charged $325 for about an hour and a half of work. Poor Poor Poor . Would not use at all every again or recommend. read more

Terrible experience with Secard Pools. I really expected more from your company. I bought this pool in September at the LA County Fair. Greg was my sales person. Prior to my complaints, Greg was very responsive to my messages about when the start date would be and had answers for all my questions. The start date was 12/5/2019. Immediately after the first dig, I started to notice that things weren't going the way Greg had explained. First off there was lack of communication between Greg and construction. Te pool was suppose to be 11 feet from the wall, but construction had it 5 feet. If it wasn't for my husband being home the initial dig would have been incorrect. Communication and the plans are very important, it can change the whole project. Next off, construction was very dirty. That first day they left so much dirt on the driveway that I had to shovel it away myself. I called Greg to complain and all he said was "I'll talk to construction about that." Prior to the stat of the pool digging i informed him that cleanliness was very important to me and Greg assured me that all the dirt would be cleaned up and taken away from my home as construction went along. which did not happen! Fast forward to February. Construction did not come to my home for 1 month. I understand they they are busy and had other projects going on. I called construction to ask for dates and I was told that they would not come out due to "lack of payment". Lack of payment, I financed a portion of my pool and I signed authorizations so that Secard can pull payments from there. Again, lack of communication between sales and construction. Another week goes by and no construction out yet. I call to confirm that that we are all on the same page. Now they blame the inspector. That he never signed off. So that they have to schedule another inspection. I pull the inspector card and it was signed on on 2/2/2020. the inspector show up and states " i signed this off don't know why I was called again". Now we are in March, my entire back yard is full of trenches that have not been covered. Plumbing and gas have been completed. I am not understanding why they are still uncovered. I keep calling construction and speaking to Chris and Robert which are very dismissive with my concerns. I also call Greg and he too is very dismissive. In March, a truck comes and dumps a huge pile of sand on my driveway. I called and asked what is this for. Robert tell me we made a mistake it should not have been dropped off. He never once asks if they can pick it up or if it will be a problem. That same week the stay at home order starts. Now not only do I have uncovered trenches in my back yard, mind you I have dogs back there. But I also have a hug pile of sand on my driveway. I understand the pandemic is out of everyones hands, but these trenches should have been addressed when I had complained. No construction for 1 1/2 months. We are in April now and I receive a call that construction is starting back up. The first visit back is to install the liner. The construction guys ask me why aren't these trenches covered. I told them I have been asking the same question and apparently it seems like I am talking to the wall. Everyone is very dismissive. The liner is placed and the pool is filed with water the trenches are covered a few days later. And what happens to the pool water well it becomes so dirty with all he dirt from covering the trenches. I call to complain to Greg and Robert and I am told thats why you have a pump it will clean your pool. Not all the trenches were covered the ones by the gas line and pool equipment were not. I call construction again and ask what is going on with the trenches and all the leftover dirt that was left. Chris and Robert again were dismissive someone will go out there and pick that up. Mind you, Greg informed me that my backyard will look the same as when they started. I was concerned with piles of dirt and compressed dirt from the dig. Someone did come out and fill the trenches but not correctly. The dirt was never picked up and I had to pay the paver company extra money to remove the dirt that Secard was suppose to remove. My pool has been complete for about a month and it has problems. The liner has creases on it. The panels are chipped. The caps on the sides look old and used. The pool is 2 inches short. The trenches aren't filled correctly. I have communicated with Greg and have had no resolution. His response is I'll talk to construction. I have had to leave 4 messages at times for him to call me back and tell me he's still working on it. I paid a lot of money for this pool and I am not satisfied. Beware of this company!! read more

I have a 35K pool that took them a year to install, it is not level there are cracks in the cement around the pool already they trashed my yard they ruined my driveway, they forgot to put my umbrella slip in. These guys could care less about their customers. They took six months and three different pool liners manufactured before completing the job. It took three different times to make the pool liner because their measurements were completely off. I took a picture of the measurements they took and then measured the pool myself. Not even close. Now we have a pool liner that looks like crap. Wrinkles everywhere. Over time it fits even worse. They are rude on the phone. Horrible work. Horrible customer services. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company. Look at their BBB rating and other ratings on the internet. Those cannot be whitewashed. read more

I had a nightmare experience with Secard pools and will never deal with them again. PLEASE avoid Greg, Brian, Christian and Juan. I started this project last July! I was on a waiting list until early November. Okay cool. Then the nightmare starts. No communication whatsoever! They would give me dates then call me last minute to let me know they are coming over the next day. Doesn't matter that we have dogs AND jobs. BUT even worse, they decide to tell me they can't make it for weeks because they are backed up AFTER already removing my old vinyl liner leaving my pool exposed to the environment. A two day job turns into weeks! I told them I should be priority to complete the job since my pool was left unfinished. Then it starts to rain like crazy which delayed it into January! My pool starts to collapse from the rain! They finally stop by to put the new liner in and leave it unfinished. They set another date which was supposed to be this weekend. They call me last night saying they are coming tomorrow! Again, no communication and we are supposed to take off work with no notice. I asked to be reimbursed if I had to miss work. Greg agreed to credit my account for ONE workday. However, I couldn't get the day off due to nurse shortage! I attempted to pay online today because they don't accept phone payments, Zelle or Venmo! Only online with an additional convenience fee of $189 or you can drive to their location. Wtf! Greg never mentioned THIS additional fee yesterday. He has been the worst out of everyone! I attempt to dispute the convenience fee and Greg tells me if I don't pay the amount due... including $189 fee to pay online, he will forfeit the small discount he gave me and they won't complete the work today! I'm livid and everyone should be WARY about giving a dime to this terrible company. They have really went downhill since I originally had my pool Installed years ago and I'm sure they ripped me off since my pool probably needed more work after leaving it exposed for weeks on end. I'm so disappointed. I wouldn't be surprised if my pool falls apart soon. They only care about getting paid, not their customers! read more
