    Medovik with nuts
    Alex C.

She makes some of the best Russian honey cake/medovik. My girlfriend has ordered it twice for me on my birthday. The first one had berries and the second one had nuts. I'm craving it just thinking about it now.

It was later of the day cause when I arrived only 2 cupcakes were left, BooHoo. SO I got the remaining chocolate cupcakes with strawberry butter cream. I was w/my daughter and we were getting candy bags as well. Got home tried the cupcakes. It was really good! The chocolate cake is soo moist. I love butter cream frosting but never had strawberry buttercream so I was skeptical! But yes it was really good as well!! The combination of both really satisfied my sweet tooth. I totally recommend and I also would love to visit the other location, ferry building. More cupcakes to feast! (I love the pink bag)

Wow I am impressed with their macaroons and the old fashion cupcake…read more The macaroons are different from others that I tried. They are made with coarsely ground almonds with the skins intact. They do not add any food coloring or processed flavorings, so they are distinctly rustic and natural. It is not sticky, gooey or has too much sugar stuck on them. I like the hazelnut flavor. The cupcakes are decorated nicely. Their Italian Meringue Cupcake is a rich Double-Chocolate cake with a light and fluffy marshmallow-like texture makes me think of a hostess cupcake. I had two yellow cream cheese frosting gingerbread cupcakes, raspberry chocolate and strawberry vanilla cupcake. I am happy with the selection I received which is a great way to try and determine if this bakery knows how to make a good cupcake. I enjoyed their carrot cake cupcake. All cupcakes were nice and moist, the frosting is always the key to a good cupcake. Thank you and I hope to stop by again and try a cake.

We went late in the day which I assume affected the texture of the cake (They were a little dry). We got chocolate salted caramel which had great flavor. We especially liked the frosting which was fluffy and not too sweet, red velvet which had an artificial taste, banana which tasted too fake, and lemon which had a delicious custard or pudding filling. All in all, we enjoyed the cupcakes but next time we will try to get there earlier when they're fresher.

I was wearing a Star of David necklace. The employee on duty initially interacted normally and offered a small promotional incentive with a purchase. During our conversation about flavors, the employee asked me, "What side are you on?" When I asked for clarification, she proceeded to ask whether I was a "Zionist" and "Orthodox." I responded politely and honestly that I am both. Immediately after this response, the employee withdrew the previously offered promotion and stated that I would need to pay full price. The questioning and subsequent change in treatment appeared to be based solely on my religious identity and perceived political beliefs. The way the term "Zionist" was used was hostile, and the interaction became uncomfortable and inappropriate. I remained polite throughout. My friend suggested that we leave due to the employee's behavior, and we did so. As we exited, we stated that it did not seem like this was a business that wanted our patronage. The employee responded that she was not the owner and "just worked there." Regardless of her role, no customer should be questioned about their religion or identity or treated differently because of it. I am sharing this experience so that others are aware and in the hope that the business addresses this conduct and ensures that all customers are treated with respect.

The inside of the shop is so cute with a bunch of cupcake decorations. We ordered a Taro Cupcake and a Chocolate Tres leches cupcake. They were both very delicious and I preferred the Taro cupcake. It really tastes like Taro. I thought the chocolate tees leches cake would be a little more moist. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and were helped right after. You order at the counter that has the cupcakes on display. There were a handful of people there ordering cupcakes!

I even added significantly to the order about 28 hours in advance. They delivered on time, everything was packaged nicely. Their prices are reasonable ($35 for a dozen mini donuts, mixed flavors), plus they had both vegan and gluten-free options (must buy a dozen of each if mini cupcakes). They were easy to contact by phone or email. When they delivered, they dropped off with a colleague and texted me the confirmation. The only downside is you cant' choose your flavors in the mixed dozen (I'd requested carrot cake in the form but we didn't get any).
