Cake...you can't see the beautiful marble effects she created.
    Trieu G.

The most exquisite cake designer! All her work is a piece of art. Our wedding cake turned out to be better than what we could have imagined. Supreme! Jasmine's consultation was a relaxing interview to understand the couple's personality, history and expectations. She asks you to pick a few designs you like from her repertoire of unique and over-the-top designs. Check out her work! I have never seen any cake so beautiful as ours...the details are so intricate...and the bow looks like it was made out of fabric. Amazing! If you are looking for a one-of-kind piece of art, then contact Jasmine. And the flavor combos are exotic. At the tasting, she and her assistants give a few samples of what you select, and suggest some really interesting flavors. We went with the one she suggested. The customer service after our initial meeting was less than desirable as Jasmine went on vacation and her assistants were transitioning out, but in the end, they delivered the cake that was a dream!

Jasmine Rae created my dream wedding cake. Having studied pastry arts, my wedding cake was a big priority for me in my wedding planning. Jasmine created the most unique and beautiful cake that matched the spirit and vibe of my wedding perfectly. And we picked really unique flavors that were meaningful to my and my groom's heritage and family backgrounds. She embraced our vision for a bold and colorful wedding cake and brought it to life and made it even better than we could have hoped for. It wasn't just a stunning statement and work of art, it tasted fantastic too! She was professional, reliable, responsive and worked with our budget. I can't wait to have another event to celebrate and order one of her beautiful cakes for again.

Jasmine Rae went above and beyond in creating an AMAZING wedding cake for my wedding this past summer! We had the pleasure of meeting her at her studio the week of our wedding to do a tasting of the concoction we had planned over the phone. Living in Colorado and planning a destination wedding in SF was stressful enough, but Jasmine had our back! We had an initial consultation over the phone where Jasmine was able to get to know us. After a brief phone call, she was able to design and create a beautiful masterpiece that will be remembered for the rest of our lives She created a dirty coconut cake with an almond frangipan and passionfruit curd that was OMG spectacular and shaped like a rough, block of wood with flowers growing out of the top of it! I can report that after the cake was cut and distributed that there was not a simple crumb left on anyone's plate at our reception. In addition, almost everyone proclaimed it to be the best cake that they had ever eaten in their lives (myself included)! I am not the biggest fan of sweets, and Jasmine represented the cake so amazing well that the flavor profiles really came through instead of an overpowering sense of sugary sweet. Lastly, the design of the cake was so phenomenal that it blew everyone's minds! It was so well designed and built, that the photographers actually mistook the cake for a reception prop and had to go back in to take pictures of the cake. I would not re-do the decision to go with Jasmine Rae Bakery at all! Her cake performed so well and was everything that I could have asked for and more! If you are looking for a wedding, birthday, or any sort of cake - call and schedule an appointment with Jasmine Rae. I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed! Thank you so much Jasmine for creating such an amazing piece of art for us. I only wish that I had an unlimited supply of your work to eat forever and ever!

I can not say how great of cake Jasmine turned out for my husband's 31st birthday! I needed a very basic design, but was really concerned about the text (it was written in the programing language Python). Jasmine did a FABULOUS job in getting the code right as well as turning out a deliciously tasting cake (see photo)!! Jasmine herself was personable and you could tell she really takes pride in her work. The only reason why I couldn't give her the full 5 stars is for a slight lack of organization (in regards to billing). I paid for my cake in cash and literally just handed it to her, no invoice, no receipt, no proof of payment, only a smile and a pick up time. She charges about $5/slice, meaning a wedding cake would be a pretty hefty transaction. Since my cake was $50, maybe she didn't feel the need to set up an invoice, but it would've been nice. Again, Jasmine's work is amazing and I would highly recommend her!!

If you are looking for an amazing center piece for the party and have the most memorable event. Look no further! Jasmine Rae Bakery made my boyfriend's birthday so amazing! I wanted to have a bakery make a Nikon D700 camera cake. I searched on the internet trying to find if anyone had attempted to make a Nikon camera cake before. I did found some photos of a Nikon D700 camera cake so I printed it out and started searching for a bakery that may be able to do it. When I search here on Yelp, I found Jasmine Rae Bakery. I saw their photos of cakes and thought, may be she can make a cake that looks close to the real thing. I didn't expected much honestly. With all the small details on the Nikon D700, I know it must be very difficult and technical to make. I called Jasmine and she was so pleasant and accommodating. She was very patient and attentive as to what exactly what I wanted. I email her the picture of the camera cake I found on the internet. Honestly, there were so many small details on the Nikon D700 camera that I did not expect Jasmine to make the final product as close to the real camera as she did. I really under estimated her precious talents. The cake she made was 10 times better looking than the one I found on the internet. (I mean, just look at the pictures I posted on here!) She pretty much got all the buttons, the actual camera size, signs on the buttons, camera lens, view finder, viewing screen...all the details, down to a T. She put so much heart into this piece of creation of hers. When I took out the cake after the birthday dinner, all our friends were surrounding the cake taking pictures for half an hour. We simply just couldn't believe HOW REAL it looked and how great it tasted! Few days later when I posted the Camera cake pictures on Facebook, EVERYBODY commented on it. Even friends of friends (people we didn't even know) would ask us about it. People at parties would even say, "oh hey! we never met before but I saw your camera cake picture! The next few months, that was what everyone talked about when they saw my boyfriend & I. I felt so lucky to find Jasmine. The cake was way beyond what I can ever image. It tasted so great as well. It was chocolate. It tasted creamy, the sweetness was and the favor was just right. No one could get enough of it! Jasmine should receive some kind of award for her "god-given" talent. She must know some kind of magic to make cakes as beautiful as she does. You won't be disappoint. I was so blessed to find this place! Thanks a million Jasmine! We're going to remember this cake and this special birthday for the rest of our lives.

    "Ode to Humankind"

We met Jasmine several times to discuss the design of our wedding cake because we had a specific idea in mine. We wanted her to design our cake to resemble a marble sculpture that my Grandma had made, called "Ode to Humankind". Not only did she execute said design to a T, she was a joy to work with and the cake was THE BEST CAKE I'VE EVER TASTED, (and typically I don't even like cake-I'm more of a frosting gal) even the fondant, (which normally tastes like glue paste) was delicious. We chose a Lemon-Lavender Cake with Passion Fruit Curd as the filling and a Mascarpone Frosting, (for the sheet cake)...we needed the fondant for the structural integrity of the ceremony cake. I can't tell you how many people told us this was the absolute best cake they've ever tasted. We can't recommend Jasmine Rae Bakery enough. She will forever be our go-to baker for special events in the years ahead of us and we are so grateful we chose her for our special day, (thanks Mom for finding her)--can't wait to have that cake again on our 1st anniversary! Thank you, Jasmine! We love you!! Rebecca & Chris Centers

Jasmine Rae is a visionary artist and we are so thankful she created the wedding cake beyond our dreams. Our consultation appointment in her super cool studio was so much fun... delicious, too! While sampling four different, high-quality delicious flavors she had baked that day, together we designed a gorgeous, natural, unique wedding cake full of inspiration. It combined elements of our venue in the rice paper frosting, a unique square tiered asymmetrical shape that harkened back to a private memory, and the beauty of the surrounding natural environment of our wedding location. The cake speaks for itself... it is exactly as we designed and her hand spun sugar California Poppies were even more gorgeous than we envisioned. We saved the top tier, where it is secured with extra packing tape because we are so tempted to get another taste before our one year anniversary... which will make the day even more special!

Jasmine made the most amazing wedding cake for my husband and I. The cake was delicious and it looked exactly how I envisioned it. I can't wait until our first anniversary to revisit that delicious cake slice we're keeping.

Gram Masala Chocolate with Green Apple Goat Cheese frosting, Brown Butter Cake with Oregano Honey Almond Mash
    ERICA E.

Found Jasmine Rae and purchased cupcakes for a birthday. She was awesome! We decided to do a baker's surprise assortment, she was going to give me a sampling of cakes she was using that week. IT was a HIT!! She did a Salted Caramel Chocolate, a Saffron Pistachio with Saffron Whipped Cream, a Gram Masala Chocolate with Green Apple Goat Cheese frosting, and a Brown Butter Cake with Oregano Honey Almond Mash and Torched Almonds. The cake was fabulous, moist and stuck together, not crumbly and the frostings really nice, dense when appropriate and light and fluffy whipped, not too sweet, not too much butter! My favs: the gram masala and the salted caramel.....wait..I didn't even get to try the Saffron one!!! Thank you!! Y'all will suffer if you haven't had Jasmine Rae yet!

What a charming group of bakers. And props to Jasmine being super sweet and for putting together a taster box of cupcakes in a rush because I was leaving the country. Maybe I am old fashioned, but the lavender mint cake with goat cheese frosting was just too avante garde for my style. It was beautiful but scary. The balsamic vinegar with raspberry and mascarpone was really delish, though.

    the yummiest wedding cake
    E G.

Oh my yumminess. If you haven't already sampled Jasmine's cranberry rosemary bread, gingerbread, or savory gougeres at philz coffee or coffee bar, you're missing out. I've been enjoying these treats for the past few years which is why I decided to speak with her about making a cake for my wedding. Well, the wedding was a few months ago and my friends are still talking about our wedding cake. Not only was it the most amazing creation I've ever seen and topped with truffles, but the flavor layering combo of chocolate cake with salted caramel and espresso and espresso buttercream was seriously the yummiest thing I've ever eaten. We love chocolate and alot of cake makers didn't quite get that.... Not only was the cake amazing, but when we met Jasmine, we knew that she actually cared about how we met, who we were and felt like it was an honor (not a favor) to be making our cake. Just try a tasting, you will see what I mean.

I would eat the cream by itself if they sold it that way. Good thing I don't live nearby. I highly recommend cakes that let their vanilla frosting shine without mixing too many flavors. I absolutely love the unique-esque of flavors here. The first cake I tried from Butter& was their brown butter lemon cake. It was a bit too sweet for my liking, but love the sound of that flavor combination. It was great texturally. The second one I tried was their lychee raspberry. Wow, they really get that lychee flavor super well there! Very impressed. This one was more to my liking, and it was as equally as beautiful as the first one. This most recent time I arrived just before opening and waited about an hour and a half for my delicious strawberry roll. If I had got there earlier, I think the line would've been only about 20 to 30 minutes so if you are an early bird they allow you to line up anytime after around 7:45 AM. I listened to a new album and great podcast while I was in line, it can be a great solo activity and makes the wait go by fast! I also enjoy talking to the people around me about whether or not they've been here yet and hearing what their favorite items are or what they're excited to try. This time I met someone who had brought their family member all the way from Mexico to try! I think a lot of the people who are frustrated don't understand that there will be a wait. The owner has explained on her Instagram that the reason they cannot simply bake more is because they are not baking pastries that are designed for bulk creation. They are all handmade small batch goods that simply cannot be made in large quantities. I think when you go into it understanding that it's going to be an experience that more often than not comes with a wait time it is much more enjoyable. I did see some teenagers show up with their parents who immediately seemed like they did not want to get in the line. The thing about lines though is that typically if there is a consistent line somewhere that means it's good! I really admire the parents that did wait with their kids because it is worth it! We all need a little bit of whimsy in our life and these goods and the wonderfully magical people who work there make my day a little brighter each time I go in. The shop itself is decorated so well, you can tell that the cookbooks and tools are not just props on the shelf. They are actually used. There are also a couple glittery surprises that I will leave for you to find out... I cannot recommend this little bakery enough. If you are in San Francisco, even just for a day, add it to the top of your list and start your day with a treat you won't be able to find anywhere else.

The namesake Pistachio Cardamom croissant was excellent for a filled croissant. It had excellent layers and the cream was just enough to add a lusciousness to each bite that wasn't too heavy. The madame lorraine was my other favorite. It was meaty and rich with the soft baked runny yolk and the light touch of rosemary was just enough to accentuate the bite. The not as good...a standard butter croissant. Maybe we got a dud but there was a serious lack of layers in ours and it wasn't as crisp or as buttery as I like. The elote corn croquiche filling was also quite salty which was a shame because the pastry layer was pretty good. I still have two more pastries to try but given the weight and the mixed bag, I definitely expected a lot more from Butter & Crumble. Pro tip: get a butter croissant at Arsicault, walk to B Patisserie and get a kouign amann. You'll have both before the line moves here.
