My second time here! First time was for my sisters bachelorette party and the second time was for vacation purposes. We loved it the first time that we just had to return! A very new hotel within the last couple of years. Very modern and super CLEAN. Amazing food and excellent service. Getting the preferred rooms allows you to have a butler service. Rooms are huge, spacious, comfortable, and just so relaxing. First time around I shared a room with 3 other ladies. Second time around it was just with a girl friend in a large suite. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from with al a carte menus or the main dining for buffet. Don't worry, its all inclusive so stuff you face as much as your stomach and heart can! The pool areas can get filled up quick during peak seasons that may require you to hustle on down to grab a chair. Or just head over to the beach with plenty to spare. Waiter service through out the resort. Plenty of them come back periodically to check on you to make sure your well fed and well hydrated (Water or alcohol). I love their coffee bar that makes all sorts of specialty coffee with changing finger foods throughout the day and evening. Even a coffee specialty with some baileys! Each time i've gone, we just stayed on the resort for 5 days so we definitely utilized the resort amenities, activities, and entertainment. I must say that second trip...the entertainment was very poor. Some magic trick guy who wasn't very impressive at all and a comedian which wasn't funny at all. There was some acrobatic/dance stunts on one of the evenings in the main lobby which was somewhat enjoyable compared to the horrible comedian the previous night. I really enjoyed the water show in the main pool area. Oh the SPA! so relaxing and heavenly. You MUST try their spa! Booking a massage or any spa treatment gives you access to their spa ALL DAY. The spa is clean and has so much you can do there. Special lockers that include your own robe, slippers, and towels. Special re-hydrating water and snacks as you relax and forget all your troubles. They have both cold and hot saunas, this bucket spa contraption that im not sure how to explain, and hot and cold jacuzzi. My girl friend and I literally spent at least more than half the day in the spa from before and after our massage appointment. It is an adult only resort which was nice. When people ask about a resort in Cancun, this is at the very top of the list. I have become a fan of the chain and will continue to vacation at their new locations. read more

I love this resort! Now that I've been to multiple other ones, this one is still forever my favorite. Not to mention, I did a lot of pros and cons among the other resorts and this one has the best value and view. Everything was beautiful, elegant, and amazing! [ Check in ] We had the Preferred Junior Suite Ocean view and it did not disappoint! Checking in was easy since the preferred club has a separate check-in station where the preferred lounge is, AKA start drinking and eating while they slowly check in my group of friends. [ Room ] Since we planned the vacation, we decided to grab the bigger suite for all of our friends to visit. Our junior suite was ridiculously spacious, with an extra long balcony perfect for breakfast. I have to admit, their room service food takes forever and is not the best quality, but you HAVE to have breakfast on your balcony during sunrise or sunset! Since Secrets the Vine is the tallest resort on the peninsula, you will enjoy a breakfast view you can't find elsewhere. They have the mini fridge restocked each day, but you're better off bringing back drinks from the preferred lounge. Hint: They won't give you over 20 shots, but they will pour the whole bottle into a tall plastic cup for you..heh [ Restaurants ]. Make sure you check the hours of all the restaurants, so you can plan when to eat what. Make sure to tip the servers! They honestly all gave top-notch services. 1. Sea Salt Grill -- fresh seafood with the best cerviche! If you could come during the night, try to get their filet mignon. It's ridiculously delicious. I feel like their nights vary between sit down dining and buffet style, so definitely check their schedule. My favorite, highly recommend! 2. Bluewater Grill -- Fine dining at their steak house and their dishes are quite tender and perfectly cooked, especially their braised rib! Usually resort steaks end up rather dry or unseasoned, but THIS is on another level. Recommend! 3. Nebbiolo Ristorante -- Another one of those fine dining but an Italian restaurant. The wait took a while during dinner time, but I'm glad they have a full bar there to serve drinks while you wait. Everything was great here as well! 4. Market Cafe -- Came for their Mexican/international breakfast, which was great but pretty standard. Since there's too many restaurants here, I didn't get to try them at dinner. 5. Dragon Oriental Dining -- Their far east cuisine needs some improvement. Their dishes aren't traditional, but more so fusion food. Don't expect the sushi nor hot dishes to taste like how you imagined. It might've been worse than the sushi I bought from a random supermarket. 6. The Vine Bazaar: The Cafe-- a small little kitchen for their coffee and pastries. They're open 24 hours, so you could expect to find salsa & chips or pizza at night. [ Activities ] I guess one of the cons of this resort is their nightlife, which is almost nonexistent. You could catch a small party at the piano bar at night, but that's about it. If you are visiting in the right months, then you could join their turtle release program. The season is said to be July through December, but hatching varies. I guess I got lucky, since I went last year around September and was able to experience the release. I asked multiple staff members and they all said it was over (even the guy standing by the beach exit), but they're honestly lying just to limit the amount of people trying to release these turtles at the same time. Super lowkey experience right after sunset, but after you walk past the security to the beach, turn right and there should be a small shack. read more

Can we say AWESOME! yes, if you are looking for a nice, easy and clean place with staff that goes beyond and above, please visit this place. Meet some locals got to speak with them and some of the staff. These individuals work for 8 dollars a day. Tipping goes a long way for people who are already providing excellent customer service and yes you pay for that before hand but it is divided amongst a bunch of them. So back to the hotel, the rooms were to die for, the view gorgous. The food was good as well, plenty to eat, make sure you get VIP so you may enjoy the infinity pool. This is an adult resort so no kids and time to relax. We are planning to return and that is how nice it was. I have visited Riu Palace las Americas which was very nice but did not compare to this location. Do not hesitate and visit, you will not be regret it. read more

My boyfriend surprised me with a trip which included a surprise couples trip with my dear friend and her husband. it was their second time having stayed during their honeymoon last year and our first. All I can say is WOW! 1. The restaurants were AMAZING! The food plentiful... Every morning we had breakfast in the Market Café where Caesar took great care of us and on my actually birthday we dined at Dragons Oriental. Talk about great food! This place was perfect, and Fernando our server made sure he worked with my boyfriend to make it a night to remember. 2. We were part of the preferred membership, and I must say I felt like I was a queen. Any and ever thing we needed we had. 3. The pools, view and beach were awesome and the gym and other amenities were stellar. I have been to Mexico several times, and hands down this is one of the best resorts by far. read more

This was our first time staying at this resort. It was clean, beautiful, well staffed and everyone went out of their way to make it a fantastic experience. Our Jr. Suite room was an upgrade and worth every penny. The balcony looked out over the bay and ocean and the view was so incredible we even had room service deliver dinner just to enjoy the evening on the deck. Lots of food (didn't have a bad meal), plenty of bars, enough pool chairs (4 pools) we could always find a seat and an incredible gym. I would absolutely stay here again! Stayed here for a week and I will say that is place was amazing. I only have 2 gripes which is why I'm giving them 4 stars. The food was so mediocre. In my opinion, the restaurants were trying way too hard to Michelin star their food. You would order something and it would be nothing like you imagined. Looks fancy but not what you wanted or pictured in your mind. You would be like "wtf am I eating?" Our first lunch here was at the Sea Salt Grill by the pool. I didn't know what to expect. Honestly, the menu was not very appealing to me. I just ordered from chicken tacos. They were so bland. I ordered mac and cheese another day. Told them to leave off the seafood. What did I get? Mac and cheese with squid and mussels. GROSS! The mac and cheese had no flavor. The guacamole was really good. Tortilla chips tasted like chips from Walmart. I really hated this place. 1/10. But it was fun to watch the birds demolish leftover food when people left the table. The first night we ate at the Italian restaurant. Small portions and bland food. 5/10. The second night we ate at the Mediterranean restaurant. I think this was one better than all of the restaurants we ate at, but nothing special. 7/10 The breakfast buffet at the Market Café was really good. We ate there every morning. 8/10. The buffet lunch at the Market Café was our favorite. Unfortunately we didn't know about their lunch until the last day of our trip. 9/10. Market Cafe turns into a Mexican Restaurant at night. We thought it would be a buffet again. Sadly we were wrong. This restaurant tries to do Michelin star food but fails miserably. The food was horrible. 2/10. Let it be known that all the portion sizes are about the size of a fist. So we were really hungry after the nasty food. We went to grab a sandwich at the sports bar upstairs. Food wasn't outstanding but better than the Mexican place. Dragons restaurants was another disappointing place. I ordered Seabass and man it was so dry it was inedible. Sushi was okay. Not great. 5/10. Overall, there is no real Mexican food here. Everything is white washed. If you want real tacos you have to go off the strip or downtown. We had some amazing food out of the resort. The coffee bar here also sells delicious little sandwiches. The salmon was my favorite. Now here comes my last gripe about this place. The drinks. If you want to order a regular cocktail or hard liquor you will not be disappointed, but if you order a mixed drink with a Pina colada mixture be prepared to barf. The Pina colada mixture was so nasty and they put that mixture in most of the frozen and mixed drinks. It does not taste like Pina colada. The best way to describe the taste would be like artificial flavor and perfume mixed together. They use a lot of prepackaged mixes for their drinks that taste super artificial. I just cannot stand it. Any drink that requires strawberry flavor is a fake artificial flavor and it tastes DISGUSTING. JMO guys. Overall the resort was so damn beautiful. The pools, the atmosphere was breathtaking. We stayed in the junior suite. It was so comfortable and beautiful. The room was cleaned 3 times a day with a turn down service. The staff was excellent with everything they did. When we got there before check in the first day and a very nice guy at the front desk put us in the quarantine room to sleep in until 12pm when our room was ready. When our returning flight got cancelled a very nice lady at the concierge helped us get our flight back home figured out. I would definitely come back to this place. It was a dream. Pure vacation heaven! This place is wonderful, from the moment you walk in the door, they are there ready to wait on your every need! Beautiful high rise hotel with beautiful pools, beach and ocean views! The rooms are large and all have balconies with a great view! Loved all the restaurants, very good quality food all the way down to the Angus burgers served by the pools. The beach is very nice, pure white sand, lounge chairs, umbrellas and wait service. I can't say enough about how nice this place is! We came here for our daughter's wedding, they did everything they said they would do in the wedding package and more! We did not have to worry about anything at all! The flowers were beautiful, the cocktail hour, dinner, DJ,and open bar was perfect! The ceremony went off without a problem, absolutely wonderful! The wedding package includes everything is very reasonable, weddings are their specialty and they do it well! read more

This place = ridiculous. I came here for a weekend for a wedding. From the moment I stepped out of the car from the airport, I was overwhelmed. Cold, refreshing towels? A silver tray of champagne handed to you by someone saying "Welcome home"?! Everything in here is beautiful - bright, open, sunny, and modern. The staff is all amazing and really, really nice. They all make you feel extremely pampered. The only bad/annoying thing was the food. Some of it was eh and service was sometimes really, REALLY slow. My fave = Market Cafe. The vine is a great getaway for couples. They treat you so well and I never met a member of the staff that was really nice and helpful. We stayed in a preferred room and it was awesome. Each preferred floor has a head butler who is always in the lobby to help you with anything you need and even can do your check out on your floor instead of at the front desk. Anyways, the preferred room was beautiful with a great view of the ocean and the bay. The spa was amazing. Yes it is really expensive, but that is the way any resort spa will be. However, I found it to be worth it. Unlike other resort spas I've been to, they do not try and sell you their products after the service...taking advantage of your relaxed state. But not the vine. We got a couples massage and the "water journey" before the massage was so relaxing too. They obviously cater to couples and it was well worth it. I felt at ease and guided the whole way through. Some other resort spas I have been to, that was not the case. You may encounter someone in the lobby offering you discounts for the spa-this is a timeshare type situation that takes two hours for what seems to be not much of a discount. We didn't do that but we met some people that did and said they wish they had not. The food is why I didn't give The Vine five stars. Yes, it is all inclusive but the food was just okay. I really recommend ordering more than you would normally because the portions are small. The market buffet was decent and Olio was really good as well (get the tuna appetizer at olio, maybe two orders) but the other options were just okay. The Italian was ill seasoned, the room service was okay, and the spot down by the pool was weird. However, I know this is to be expected at an all inclusive resort. They created really interesting sounding menus but the final product is just okay. The pools and bars are awesome. As it is all inclusive, your drinks may be a little weak but just ask for an additional shot on the side and mix it in yourself! As there are no kids, the pools are very relaxing and you can spend your whole day in the fairly comfortable chairs or in the hot tub that over looks the beach. Since we were in the preferred level, we had access to the rooftop pool but honestly it was a little too cold. Overall the resort is very nice and clean with very friendly staff and pleasant guests. As it was raining for a bit of our stay, we were happy to see the hotel make quick plans for indoor activities that seemed like fun. Would recommend for couples, as singles may have a hard time mingling! read more

Place is superb. The facilities are still new. The staff is wonderful. The restaurants are delicious. The beach is top 5 in the world. The tourists who stay in nearby hotels are all jealous. The Market Cafe was by far my favorite experience of the entire vacation. Our server Cesàr was courteous and overwhelmed us with hospitality every morning. He introduced us to Chef Elmer, who prepared a private dinner of a traditional Yucatan dish, Cochinita Pibil, for my wife and I. Muy amablé Yusef. They basically spoil you to the point of indulgence. Of considerable mention is the staff at Olio restaurant. Our server Francisco wowed us with his hospitality. The food was excellent. Of notable mention: the young men who labor tirelessly to move beach chairs and umbrellas, for mostly thankless tourists but continue to do so in a cheerful manner. 6 nights - VIP penthouse suite We booked the resorts "premier" level room for our honeymoon. My overall opinion of the resort was 4/5 stars. The "premier" rooms advertise a butler / concierge service which I found unimpressive. Note: Check-in time of 3pm, room not ready until 3:45pm. We briefly spoke with our host and completed checkin later at the main desk. Checking out was also a unnecessary hassle that should have been handled by the VIP host/ butler. We did not use their service and honestly I suggest save the extra $250/night and book yourself a standard room. As I previously stated my overall review was 4/5 stars , the food was excellent and we were very pleased with the level of service from the general staff/ waiters. Our suite had a huge balcony and great view. The Italian restaurant was amazing, 5 star service! Try the Mediterranean grill for lunch. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone traveling to Cancun on vacation. read more

MY COMPLAINTS: A little about me I am a neat clean quiet person who likes peace and relaxing type of atmosphere, I am not a partier I am in my mid-30s. If I spend 1k on an all-inclusive 3-night stay in CANCUN, I better have a good deal, because I can spend the same amount at the Standard or W hotel in Los Angeles and get a better service and not a steak dipped in a crap ton of oil. LOL SMELLS LIKE MOLD, yes it's humid in places like these but the mold is everywhere people don't clean that up. If my bed was sanitized the pillows wouldn't smell like mold it would smell like bleach! Lol I've been to Miami, Orlando, Key West, North Carolina (humid places) and non of the hotels or Airbnb smelled like mold! IT IS NOT THAT AMAZING as everyone writes Our AC was leaking PILLOWS BED THE WHOLE ROOM SMELLS LIKE MILDEW IT IS NOT THAT GREAT it's basic I have stayed at hotels downtown Los Angeles with 179 per night and had WAY better staff and offers. It's overrated and stay away from their restaurants outside of the hotel, they are overpriced as f*, The whole trip of Cancun is overrated The only cool thing is their pool and beach that is it. But even that has a lot of seaweed that is not soft. And the 200$ credit that they tell you you can use at their spa, it is in coupons and you can only apply 40$ off with that coupon, their massage is 245$ for 1 hour LOL I get one from massage envy for 100$ or a high-end couples massage for 175 in Bellevue, WA. IT is LUDACRIS! The view is terrible too unless you get a frontal view of the beach, hotels next door are run down, and the glass at their upper rooftop pool is broken and cracked, so it's dangerous, not sure why they did not fix it. Yes, the staff is nice but they get paid to be nice, food is definitely good!!!! Vendors pull you left and right, Beach Tortuga was nice, but play del Carmen oh my god the local beach smelled like sewage and was dirty. The water is dirty! See photos attached! In Playa del Carmen you will get angry vendors who are pulling you left and right and ask you if you want to get high lol. Avenida 5th is shut down because they are rebuilding the road so it's Ton of construction and they consider that the "rich" area. Be careful when you walk at night! People are only nice to you at the resort. So it's a facade! read more

I honestly debated between giving this resort 3 or 4 stars. There were many things that made me feel like a 3 star overall rating was more appropriate, but the amazing hospitality we received here pushed me towards 4 stars. Upon arriving, the first thing you'll notice is that they're very serious with their security, which makes sense since this resort is all-inclusive and does not use wrist-bands. After getting through the front security gate, we were immediately greeted at the door and asked for our name to look up our reservation and offered help with our luggage. Staying in one of their "preferred" rooms, we were immediately escorted up to our floor and introduced to our butler, who helped check us in the rest of the way and showed us to our room. We stayed in one of their Preferred Club Junior Suites With Ocean View. The room itself was huge, probably one of the biggest rooms we've stayed in. We were very impressed with the size of not only the room itself, but the size of the shower as well. As for the view, we had a view of both the ocean and the lagoon. Despite the great size and view, the thing that probably impressed us the most about the room was the bed; this was by far the most comfortable bed we've slept on. My girlfriend likes the bed more on the soft side, and I like it more on the firm side. This was the first time we both 100% agreed on the comfort of a bed. RESORT CREDIT: With our stay, we were supposed to receive $400 in resort credit ($200/person). BE VERY WEARY ABOUT THIS! While we did receive our "resort credit", it was definitely not what we were expecting. We thought we'd be able to use this towards just about anything we wanted in the hotel that wasn't included as part of the all-inclusive package (i.e. activities, massages, etc.); this was not the case at all! Rather than being a straight "credit", it ends up being coupons you can use towards different things, such as massages, activities, bottles of wine, etc. Our plan was originally to use this to get a couples massage, but the coupons for massages were only $40 off massage prices of ~$200-$300. FOOD: With the resort being an all-inclusive, we were excited for the food and drinks, especially given that this was our first time doing an all-inclusive. We did, however, tailor our expectations based on other reviews we read, warning of the food not being that great. During our stay, we tried Bluewater Grill (American grill), Nebbiolo Ristorante (Italian), Olio (Mediterranean), Sea Salt Grill (fresh seafood and tacos), the burger bar near one of the pools, and the Market Cafe (where breakfast is served). The Market Cafe for breakfast was okay, at best. While they do have a lot of options to choose from, and even have a place for you to order custom-made omelets and crepes, none of it was all that impressive -- fairly basic tasting, but lost of options. The Bluewater Grill was our favorite, as their ribeye steak was actually fairly good and we received huge cuts of meat, although their sides were tiny (think nearly bite-sized baked potato). Nebbiolo Ristorante and Olio were both not impressive and I would not care to eat there again. I ordered a glass of their house Cabernet Sauvignon here, since apparently any "premium" wines you have to buy by the glass. I may be a bit of a wine snob, given that I live very close to Napa Valley and frequently go there, but this was by far the worst Cab I've ever had. Olio was okay. We went to Sea Salt Grill and sad to say the tacos were not that great, which was disappointing given that we were in Mexico. The burger bar offered basic buffet burgers with a decent selection of toppings. HOSPITALITY: I will say the hospitality was the part we were most impressed with, and the main reason for four stars. Our two butlers were very good with always checking on us as we were coming or leaving our floor, as well as offering suggestions whether it be for things on their property or how to go about getting somewhere. From the very beginning, they both remembered our names and greeted us as such every time they saw us. Even when dealing with other workers throughout the property, they were very good at remembering us and the details about anything we mentioned to them, which I thought was impressive. We had plenty of drinks by the pool and even out on the chairs on the beach. We always had workers coming and taking our drink orders, which was very nice. I had a lot of margaritas during our stay here. NIGHT LIFE: Mostly just a couple small shows at night. The two other hotels on either side of us had a DJ with great latin music playlists and sounded very fun and exciting. This is the area this resort needs to really improve on, especially given it's an adult only resort. Also, NO SWIMMING AFTER SUNSET! OVERALL: As previously mentioned, we were very impressed with the room and hospitality, but almost everything else did not impress us. The rooms are one of the best rooms we have ever stayed in but beware not to show those luxurious showers too long or you might flood your room like we did. The balconies were amazing and if you order room service breakfast they set you up on it. Only 1 place for breakfast and the spa is decent but not amazing. Not a fan of coed steam rooms & hot tubs. The fish spa treatment with the fish eating the dead skin from your feet was cool. The pools are nice. Great service here & no annoying wrist bands to prove you are a guest is a plus. All the food here is good but not to die for. And the gym is nice. If I was in cancun I would stay here again. read more

We booked an all-inclusive stay at Secrets The Vine through Costco Travel. The entire process from Costco was flawless. Everything was well communicated and shared so that there were no surprises. The check-in process was welcoming, friendly, and very smooth, as it was our first trip outside the US. The entire property, from the lobby, to all of the dining areas, pool/patio areas, and of course the rooms... all are top notch. Very wide open spaces, very clean and well manicured. Once getting to the room, of course you snap all the pictures. You are in awe with how beautiful the ocean is. The bell hop asks what we needed before he left and he ran to get us what we asked for. Each time we met with the staff, they asked how our stay was... if we needed anything... etc. They were all friendly, attentive, but not hovering in anyway. The one area that we were consistently unimpressed by was the food. We ordered room service twice (one dinner time, one late night), we tried the Market Cafe twice (one breakfast, one dinner), had lunch at the Sugar Reef by the pool 3 times, and our final going away dinner at the Nebbiolo Ristorante. Each and every time, the food was NEVER served hot. Room temperature, at best. The closest we got was the final meal at Nebbiolo. But even then, it wasn't served hot. You want fresh guacamole to go with your chips? Too bad. The stuff looks like green paste squeezed from a bag. It was just sad, really. All in all, we had a good relaxing time. But when we think about staying at such a "high-end" place, you kind of expect to food to be better. I mean, if some random Vegas casino can do it... why can't these guys? read more

Highly recommend this hotel. My fiancé and I stayed here for 6 days and was certainly impressed from start to finish. Upon arrival we were greeted with champagne and cool, scented towels. We arrived hours before our check-in and although we were not allowed to check in early, we were encouraged to visit one of the many restaurants and were so happy we did. Carlos from SeaSalt was by far our favorite staff member from start to finish. Like every other staff at Secrets, Carlos always had a smile on his face and definitely ensured we had our bellies full of tequila, good food, and more tequila. He remembered us every time he saw us and really made us feel like we were part of his familia. The food options were really great, and this is coming from a picky eater. One of my favorite restaurants was the steak house. If you like shrimp and grits, please try their shrimp and cheese! It completely blew my mind! I was very impressed with the pool areas. There were 4 decently sized pools in total. Not once did I feel crowded, except in the hot tub area. Con: only one hot tub. Pros: there are copious staff working outside who will ensure your needs are met! More drinks? They are there. Extra towels? No problem. Need pool umbrellas? They are happy to bring some. The room was really nice and the room service selections were also relatively tasty for in all-inclusive resort. We were exhausted a lot from the many excursions we did and felt completely relaxed in their beds with the pillows. Additionally, we really enjoyed the entertainment they had and were sooo impressed by their water show. Mexico has extremely talented people! If you do not plan to leave the hotel throughout your stay, you will be highly entertained at Secrets. Location was also perfect. It is in the hotel zone so were only a bus ride away from the shopping centers. All in all, this place is a must-stay. We will be back and will definitely stay here again. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! Please read before booking !!!!!!!! We just checked out after having the worst vacation yet to date. Service was extremely delayed, and unhelpful. We have been to Cancun once a year for the past 12 years and boy do I have to say this was miserable. Order a drink and no straw. Sit down for buffet and no one helps you. This resort does not have a poolside bar nor entertainment during the day. Their sports bar is completely silent and smells like mold. My brother who has an immune deficiency and was taking a shower yesterday, he got out of the shower and grabbed one of the "fresh" towels given by maid service only to find BLOOD ON HIS TOWELS!!! We called the manager only to have the towel taken and left with no solution as to what would happen if the blood on that towel was infected. I asked for an incident report that I was told was in-house; I have not received this even when I asked for it at our checkout. I am praying to god he does not fall ill as this was mortifying. All the restaurants were terrible as it was like the food was remade and frozen. Please consider this before booking. read more

The most luxurious hotel we ever stayed at Honeymooners! At the arrival we were offered champagne, we godt introduced to our private butler (we were Preferred Club members), and got a tour of the hotel. The rooms are simply amazing. As Preferred Club members we could empty the mini bar with no extra charges. The mini bar and snacks were refilled every day. The rooms are always clean and before bedtime they make your room and bed ready for you. They are so service minded! I loved that the hotel had various restaurants, and we never had the need to go elsewhere. It's never crowded at the pool area and also here you have everything you need. For lunch the chefs come out with small food and at the Grill Bar there is "build your own burger"-service. The only thing you need to be aware of is that it is very "americanised" meaning that tips are given for everything! Even if it is all inclusive hotel - in Europe we are not expected to give tips at these hotels. However, some guests never gave tips and we also limited our tips at the pool area, and the service NEVER failed/changed due to lack of tips. Mexicans are the most lovable people! This place is absolutely incredible. My first all-inclusive vacation, and I must say -- this is the place to experience it at. This resort is adults only, and the Pere t spot for anniversaries, honeymoons and birthdays. The staff makes it extra special if you have an occasion. From the moment of arrival to the point of departure, I have not experienced such service in awhile. And I've been to a number of high-end places. The staff is attentive and is quick on their feet. Speaking to multiple people who have vacationed in Cancun, I was informed this resort has some of the best food variety. Breakfast and lunch buffet sat the Market Place have a nice variety. I really enjoyed the cheese selection During breakfast, they make omelettes and crepes per request also. Drinks are constantly offered and brought to you at the poolside. Room service is lengthy, but that because they have 250+ orders/daily. The Entertainment team is exceptional! Don't miss salsa dancing and water aerobics. Gets you up and going. Yesica, Marco, Hector, Guillermo, Maria, Ernesto, Emmanuel are all part of the Entertainment team and make it that much more fun. The gym on 12th floor has an exceptional view. Don't miss that either. Check the tablet in your room for a list of daily events going on. In the evenings, there is ALWAYS something musically fun going on. I've attended everything offered and my experience was that much more fun. Water aquatics (favorite!), Divos the Tenors, violinist - Oscar, saxophonist, piano player, different bands and singers, there's always something going on at the Piano Bar. I did not have any spa services as I burnt a bit more than usual. Last thing I wanted was the spa, but from others who went, I heard it was very relaxing and enjoyable. There is a steam room, sauna room, you'll enjoy it! Overall, all I can say is 8 days is not enough. Next time I'll book for 2 weeks. Rarely I come back to the same spot, but this resort is exceptional. Beautiful balcony views. Sunrises, sunsets are at your view. Room service twice daily. The ocean is beautiful - crystal blue water. Look into parasailing and other additional events. Many options offered at the counter. We did jet skiing which was amazing! read more

Amazing! My boyfriend and I loved staying here and couldn't imagine staying anywhere else during our week vacation. From beginning to end staff were very kind and welcoming. The location is beautiful! You can see both sides of the ocean. There were 4 pools, and great views. I'm my opinion the food there was not authentic. I am Latina and was expecting to eat some good ass Mexican food. But I was totally fine with the other options that were provided. My boyfriend and I personally loved the Italian and Asian restaurant the most. What I loved is that we didn't have to leave to get anything. We had food, drinks, and entertainment. All you could really ask for. I would also like to point out that the hotel was extremely clean. We will definitely be coming back and staying here again. All staff wore their masks properly, but many tourists did not. read more

Secrets the Vine is the third all-inclusive that we've stayed at in the Zona Hotelera. They have the best food of the three, with the Bluewater grill having my vote for the best restaurant in Cancun. I feel the need to mention our server, Javier, as his service was excellent. After doing one of their sales presentations (lasted about 2 hours) we were given a great deal for a couples massage at the spa. It was absolutely worth it. We had an escorted hydrotherapy session before the 5 star massage. read more

This was supposed to be our honeymoon getaway, turned out to be a huge disappointment. Upon arriving we were hooked with a gentleman who tried to schedule a 75-minute lunch session with us just to try and sell us something. This was a huge turn off from the get go as we were anxious to get to our room. I decided not to do the all-inclusive package since we were planning on eating out at other restaurants, our stay was short and it would be a more economical choice. We were always given a weird look from the concierge, waiters, bartenders when they realize you are not part of the all non-inclusive package. You have to wear a wristband so staff is aware that you are non-inclusive guest. You cannot pay as you go for any single meals only drinks and you'll have to sign/agree to one of their forms (not a receipt). I found this very cumbersome and annoying. They should not have the non-inclusive option at their hotel!! I ended up buying the 2-day option just so I would not be bothered. I mentioned it during online reservation and over the phone that this was our honeymoon stay. Nothing was provided to make our stay special. I felt like their service was non attentive, disingenuous, too many rules and restrictions made our stay difficult to enjoy. I'd rather stay somewhere else for half the price and not get hassled. Here are some of my pros and cons during our stay. + Good food + Free pillow selection + Plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas near pool and beach. + Pretty hotel Cons- - Excessive up-selling - Fridge was empty. - Sports bar was always deserted. - Strict dress code to all restaurants, (restaurant on 21st floor requires men to wear pants). - Indirect view of the beach - Asian restaurant on the first floor had only one wine (Merlot) option. - 21st floor pool is for prime members only. - Door knob issue was never taken care of. (the handle was loose and did not close properly). - Boring, nothing to do. - Pricey wine selection. Only wine available for all-inclusive is 3 home wines. - Found a roach and notified concierge. read more

We got a upgrade at a discounted rate as we where celebrating our 25 anniversary. They they upgraded us one last time due to issues with out neighbors parting into 3 am. What a way to celebrate a birthday. Took my girlfriend here for a bday getaway and it was everything you could imagine. The staff was tremendous. We were greeted upon our arrival with champagne. Our Butler (Tamara) made sure our Ocean View room was special for the bday girl with balloons, bottle of champagne, and birthday dessert. Thank you Tamara! Food at the Market Cafe and Dragons was spot on. Bluewater Grill didn't leave a lasting impression, so much so we did Dragons for a second night. I took note of a Yelper suggestion of the Aerosmith drink. Love em! I had the whole hotel eyeballin' my drink and the drink quickly became a pool favorite(Thanks to Blanca and Jorge for keeping the drinks flowin'!). Tthe Fish Tacos were phenomenal! We had the fish tacos everyday for lunch by the pool. We just couldn't get enough The spa is as fellow Yelpers have advised, a little overpriced for the service. But note with the purchase of the massage you get full access to the spa which includes sauna, hot and cold tub. The 12th floor pool was spectacular. Unfortunately our time on the 12th was cut short due to my girlfriend stepping on a piece of glass and cutting her foot. One suggestion would be to add a first aid kit to this pool level. We had to wait 15 minutes for staff to bring wipes and a band aid. Be prepared for cold showers. I didn't mind it as found it refreshing after a long hot day at the pool/beach. However, my girlfriend felt the showers were unbearable. Such a relaxing trip. We loved our stay despite my little nitpicks. We will definitely be back! read more

Heard through the grapevines this resort is the best kept secret in Cancun. Well after seeing and experiencing it for myself, I can say without a doubt I completely concur. Upon arrival you are greeted with a cold, cleansing towel to freshen up, followed by a glass of champagne because it's time to let the celebrations begin! ROOM: 5/5 We stayed in the ocean front honeymoon suite and it was beyond our expectations. It offers a huge wrapped around L shape balcony that boasts a panoramic view of the Caribbean sea, which will simply take your breath away every time you lay eyes on it. To the other side is the enigmatic yet mysterious lagoon to remind us of the many faces mother nature possess. The suite itself is spaciously open with everything you could possibly need. Plenty of closet capacity for the heavy packer and just extra storage area for the light. Dual rainfall shower heads so no need to wait until the other person is done. Or take in the view with a dip in the bathtub positioned in the middle of the room overlooking the ocean. AC is constantly blasted from the moment you step in so you're sure to beat the heat and humidity from the get-go. Housekeeping does a splendid job of maintaining the suite's deluxe image on the daily. So much that it makes me reluctant to leave each time without turning around for a last glimpse to indent in my memory for when I'm gone. FOOD: 4/5 Barefoot Grill- Conveniently located next to the pool with the jacuzzi that serves the best burgers! Juicy and customizable with all kind of toppings you can crave. Nachos were also a good snack to sit with and won't cause much damage to your bikini body while lounging around pool side. Nebbiolo Ristorante- Our most enjoyable dinning experience was here thanks to Francisco. He really took care of us and made sure our champagne glasses were always filled. We came back the next day hoping to catch him but too bad it was his day off. Bummer. Get the asparagus soup, crab tortellini, spaghetti carbonara, and veal penne. Bluewater Grill- Tuna tartare, empanadas, and ribeye were all great. Market Cafe- Spectacular international breakfast/ brunch buffet. Try the omelette station to build your own. The cooks there can make you other things as well like sunny side up eggs. Just ask! Sea Salt Grill- It's in the name, everything is extra salty. Dragons- Avoid. Gives Asian food a bad wrap. Room Service- Hit or miss depending on what you order. Not that many options but love how readily available it is. ACTIVITIES: 4/5 They have many forms of entertainment such as water aerobics, Spanish and dance lessons, parasailing and jet-ski (both extra costs). But ultimately I enjoyed laying around by the pool and beach majority of the time. Nothing better than good old vitamin-sea, amirite? SERVICE: 5/5 Everyone was polite and willing to help. And if they weren't, they sure did one heck of a job not showing it. But it was "E" who works at the pool and beach area that genuinely tugged on what's left of my heartstrings. He labors relentlessly under the scorching hot sun to put up umbrellas and move beach chairs, all in a polite manner, for mostly robotic tourists. His demeanor brought out so many emotions in me I never thought I'd feel while being on vacation. To quote Maya Angelou, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." E, cheers to you. May you continue to touch everyone you cross paths with like you've touched me. EXPERIENCE: 5/5 Overall, our stay here was nothing short of magical. It's an exquisite piece of paradise that will give you serious withdraws the second you leave. I would recommend anyone to stay here at least once to experience this level of luxury and hospitality. We all work hard year round for our well deserved money, spend it at a place that will make every single penny count! Tips: - Don't hesitate to bring pool floaties! They can blow it up for you at the front desk. - Room service takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour so order accordingly. - They work with Amstar so you can book excursions through them down at the hotel lobby. - The Cafe, which is also at the lobby has coffee and a good amount of pastries you can grab before heading out on excursions, or any time for that matter since it's open 24 hours. - Not many restaurants/ bars provide straws so if you get one, ask for an extra and keep it for a later use. It'll come in handy when sipping on those pina coladas. - They have a shuttle service that takes you to the airport, but has to be requested 24 hours prior to your departure. read more

OMG my boyfriend and I had the most amazing time here! As soon as we got there were were greated with two glasses of delicious champagne. Check-in was a breeze and we got a room right away (around 11:45 a.m.) All the staff was super nice and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed the 24 hour free room-service. The room: so clean and modern. Loved the dual shower heads. Beware, the bathroom is all glass and EVERYTHING can be heard! Pools: There are three pools, one jacuzzi, and one preferred pool. Everything was clean and not super crowded. Bars: Bars everywhere! You will always have a drink in your hand. Entertainment: basically non-existent. They need to step their game up. Safety: Very safe. Security outside checks everyone's name before coming and leaving. Food: I liked mostly everything I ordered.... --Barefoot Grill: Buffet style by the pool with burgers, pizza, nachos, fries. (good) --Sea Salt Grill: I liked the mushroom pequenos, seafood paella, and FISH TACOS (must try) --Nebbioli: My favorite dinner was had here. It is Italian. The food took forever to come, but it was all great. The server here was also amazing. My boyfriend and I were at a two-top. I got bored waiting for our food, so I went and sat next to him on the booth side of our table (no one was at any of the tables next to us). When the food came, our server noticed I changed sides and turned our table to the side so I could continue sitting next to my boyfriend while we ate. I was AMAZED at his attentiveness and ability to render such 5 star service. --Dragons: sushi was ok, steak was a weird texture --Market Cafe for breakfast is the way to go, don't go to Dragons I would recommend this hotel to everyone. What an incredible experience! Secrets the Vine Cancun made everything so incredible and memorable -- from the outstanding poolside drink service, to the friendly service at the spa, to the wonderful staff at the Bluewater Grill and Dragons Restaurant. We did have a really bad experience for dinner at the Market Café where half our food didn't arrive and the service was extremely slow, but that was the exception. The breakfast and lunch buffets at the Market Café were phenomenal. I also highly recommend lunch at the Sea Salt Grill for some fresh, lighter fare. There were a few occasions where the staff attempted to upsell wine or spa services, but it was a minor inconvenience. I highly recommend this resort and look forward to returning for another trip! read more

This hotel claims to be dog friendly but do not be fooled. My boyfriend and I made a reservation and flew to Cancun from LA and when we arrived they told us that the maximum weight for dogs at their hotel was 10 Kilo. My dog is a psychiatric service dog and I have medical papers from my doctor signing off that my dog assists me with my disability. They still refused to allow her entry as she is 35 lbs. I told the guy that he was turning away a disabled customer due to the service dogs weight and the he along with the manager refused to accommodate. This is discrimination at its finest - this hotel humiliated me and disregarded my disability. Very disappointing and poor from a large hotel chain such as Secrets hotel. No regard for the fact we have travelled from LA to this hotel based on their website stating they're dog friendly. Do not recommend this hotel due to their discriminating and demeaning manors. read more

As I am writing this I am actually sitting in the pool area. This resort is amazing, once you get off your transportation and step off your greeted with smiles an a small towel to wipe you face and hands , they escort you to check in and was also given champagne ! Delicious and so far ! Perfect ! I can say everything has so far been great service food but one thing they lack is entertainment. One or two hours a day they'll have people come and dance but nothing constant . 3 pools and they're all just extremely quit NO MUSIC, all you can hear are birds chirping while hearing music from the resort next door. I understand sometimes people go on vacation to relax but having 3 different pools. At least have one where those who want to also enjoy their time can. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!! The facility is nice and the restaurant staff are very nice and welcoming. BUT, the "concierge" and bell service are people are in kahoots they try to sell you packages and give you inflated prices for everything. Including tours, taxi and any other services. If they call you a rental car or taxi they inflate the prices so they get a cut. They talk to you nice to fish for information. We had a great experience touring the city on our own and using the public transportation system if you buy online or book direct with the places it is so much more affordable. Had a horrible experience with the customer service staff and definitely would not Recommend!!! I caught the concierge people taking pictures and video of me and my daughter. When I went outside the gates upon departure to get myself a taxi because they said it would be 700 pesos and found one that would take us for 500 and he drove me to the hotel the security took a picture of the taxi driver. He himself said while he was waiting for us to get our bags he seen other taxis picking up people and giving the bell boys money. It is very corrupt. I seriously had a very un easy feeling the entire stay. I've attached a picture of the women we caught recording and taking pictures. I do have to say the restaurant people are very hard working and nice but the good definitely does not outweigh the bad and uneasy feeling we got. read more

The resort and rooms are beautiful. I took a few pictures of the location that looked like a postcard pic. That's all good and nice except for the fact that the marketing is a bit of a lie. The resort is actually quite small. You can walk around & see it in less than an hour. The resort uses the marketing ploy "unlimited luxury" but it's not really like that. It's just a very modern and nice looking hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean. I'll give them that. You're paying close to Sandals prices and aren't receiving the same treatment. The food is subpar. There are very little vegetarian options. Nebbiolo and the Sea Salt Grill were the only 2 places that were kind enough to accommodate my dietary restriction. Jesus at the Sea Salt Grill was amazing. I greatly appreciate his kindness. The market cafe never had 1 good veggie option except for the steamed veggies. I went back the next day, they ruined it by adding more cabbage in it instead of actual veggies! That was their breakfast option. The eggs my boyfriend got were runny. It's buffet style. Most of the food was super bland. Nebbiolo had the best food. It didn't need you to add too much salt and pepper. Room service was ok. The servers were very nice actually. I believe my server was Carlos. He was pretty cool and always brought my stuff up with a smile. I had room service every day since I didn't find suitable vegetarian options at all the restaurants. The employees did a good job with the pool activities but there are only 2 pools for the guests. The music they played was super boring. They had a woman singing a slowed down version of Britney Spears' "Hit Me Baby One More Time". Super depressing! Next door the Hard Rock had an amazing DJ keeping everyone awake. I wish I could have gone there. All in all this location is not worth the price. Go somewhere else. read more

This place is off the hook! I cannot say enough positive things about the resort, the food and the staff. From the moment you arrive, they say "Welcome home." And during the entire stay the warm employees go out of their way to make sure you feel well taking care of. Now to the food. We ate at all the restaurants except for the steak house (my girlfriend is vegetarian) and absolutely all the food was amazing. To put this into perspective, my gf is a chef and I have fairly high food standards. So both of us were pleased. We upgraded to a room on the 23rd floor that faces the other resort (not the Hard Rock) and the view was amazing. I also liked the other perk of the single usage of the spa facilities. Honestly, the other amenities that came with the upgrade were ok like exclusive endless pool but have to say, we liked the "common area" pools the best. Never used the free mini bar or the butler services. I only have two recommendations to make this place even more amazing. First, lets discuss the water bottles. Since you are in Mexico, you can only drink filtered/bottled water, right??? So imagine all the resort in Cancun with all their plastic water bottles that all the guests are drinking from so they don't get sick? Imagine what this is doing to their landfills. Even if some of it does make it to recycling- the load is immense. So please, please please, install a filtered water bottle refill station. Anywhere downstairs would be great! Perhaps by the elevators or the World Market Cafe? Consider the great marketing opportunity you have: with an room upgrade even throw in a complimentary re-usable water bottle with resort logo on it? Secondly, please reconsider your timeshare marketing strategy. I think many guests would be open to booking directly with the hotel (getting better prices) and skipping the "middle-man" like Expedia or other online travel agency who is taking their cut. Perhaps their is an inexpensive annual fee to be a member? I just believe that no one really wants to spend 2-3 hours of their vacation listening to a sales pitch on timeshares in order to get a free massage. It's just not worth most folks time. Loved staying at this adults only resort! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The amenities are amazing. The hotel rooms are clean and have great views. The lounge chairs offered at the beach are comfy and always available. And all the waiters are attentive and available to help. They check on you constantly to ensure your drinks are filled which is always a plus when you're vacation! They even ask if you have any allergies before you order! I stayed here when the northeast for covered in snow and DC got two feet. My flight was cancelled and they offered hotel stays for less than $200 a night. That is an amazing deal especially since this is an all inclusive resort. Although I ended up flying to Atlanta it was a very thoughtful offer for those that had no where to go and would have ended up sleeping at the airport. I had an amazing trip with my girl friends and would definitely stay here again. The only con is that the drinks are weak and it would've been nice to have a normal amount of drinks instead of filling up on juice to feel a buzz, but it's expected for an all inclusive hotel so I guess it really isn't too much of a con! read more

My bridesmaids took me to Secrets The Vine for my bachelorette party weekend. It was AMAZING. The customer service that we received was absolutely phenomenal. We met Jorge night one of our stay at the resort during Karaoke, he made accommodations for me to perform last since I was the bride and made my bridal party feel very welcome. From this point on we saw Jorge every day the remainder of our trip by the pool, in the lobby, etc. he was so friendly and made sure we knew about all the activities in the resort. This was by far the best customer service experience I have ever had at a resort or on any vacation. Jorge made our experience so wonderful. We raved about him until we returned home and even after the trip when telling other family & friends about our experience, we continued to rave about the customer service we received. During our stay, we also had great service from Ivan at the gym and Yessica who taught us some great dances by the pool! I would highly recommend this resort! read more
