I would give the hotel a 5 star. amazing time amzing stay. but the check in process is slow and they put you infront of a time share rep that tries to sell you a membership. Despite those reason, The hotel is amazing, just check in with caution. The preferred upgrade is recommended. The upper pool isnt anything special but the food is amazing. The views are remarkable. and I wish I can give them higher rating if it wasnt for the check in issue I recieved in the beggining. Definitly you wont go wrong with this hotel. Review is strictly for UVC portion of the resort I would like to share my personal horrible experience with UVC. Hopefully this will help others to be careful before they sign any contract, especially when company is registered in the country that USA laws protecting consumers are not applicable (like UVC in Dominican Republic). In 2016, I stayed in the Secrets of the Vine resort in Cancun with my family. I was approached by the vacation club representative, who asked me if he can talk to me for 20-30 min about great services that they can offer. After several hours in the cold air- conditioned room ( I was in the swimming suite coming for 20-30 min chat) surrounded by 4 different men who were pressuring me to sign for the services, I was forced to sign an agreement. No time was given to me to discuss the offer with my family and I was not informed that there is a 3 days cancellation possibility. I was told that the package was customized to my unique needs and that I have one in a life time opportunity for the exceptional services and with unique rates if I pay for everything in full.. " Everything" was outlined on one paper sheet that magically disappeared when I Pad was brought to me for signatures. I was not given an opportunity to read everything carefully. Upon my return to USA, almost every week I got a call or e mails from Vacation Club membership, with various ridiculous offers. Numerous time I asked not to bother me, because I am very busy; I said that I will call when I need services. No matter what I tried to do (block caller ID, speak with supervisor... )...my privacy was not respected. Eventually I decided to take a trip to the Zoestry resort in Cancun using 7 free nights that I have in agreement. Twice when I was trying to book, I was told that there are no rooms available, and that I can only use 2 nights for 1 ( something that was not explained to me). I was told that Secrets Playa Mujeres, is next to the best , and they have some rooms Available , but for 7 nights for I still can't use 7 free nights and need to purchase rooms . Only then I was explained that what unlimited club offer is : 25 % off hotel regular room rates...again this is something that was not explained to me when I was forced to sign agreement. Only then I also discovered that my package is just a basic and cheapest package . I was also told that headquarters of UVC are in Mexico and not in USA. I decided to go back to Cancun in 2017 to deal in person with the UVC team. Upon my arrival I was trying to make an appointment with the team who signed me for the membership ....they were literally avoiding me....upon numerous calls and requests ....one of them, Carlos came to talk to me.... told me that he will get back to me next day when he will speak with manager. He disappeared from the resort for the length of my stay .... I was told that he had family emergency and will not come to work. ...The others refused to talk to me and told me that decision regarding my contract can be only made by Miami headquarters .... Actually, company is registered in Dominican Republic where neither USA or Mexico rules on customers protection apply. Eventually, after my return to USA , my case was assigned to the quality assurance person who was in Mexico. She was the most rude, unprofessional and condescending person I ever met. When no meaningful solution could be reached with her, I asked to speak with manager. Also, when I asked to speak to someone in a higher position, she told me there is no one else. This is by far the most frustrating process I have ever experienced when cancelling. She refused to accept my request for cancellation which I submitted and told me that only cancellation form that she sent me she will accept ( that form was stripping me of any rights and refund). Last week I received UVC request for annual payment ...again something no one told me about , when I sent them e mail about my case , I was told that quality assurance person closed my case in 2017 ( which happened without my acknowledgment). Customer service sent me an e mail : "We have escalated your case to the Quality Assurance Department. You will be contacted in the next 24-72 business hours.".......and than I received an e mai from the same person " If all you want is to continue with the cancellation, there is no other option than cancelling without refund." ......Nothing more to say. If you look up UVC profile on Better Business Bureau there is a statement " Complaints on file with BBB allege that consumers were pressured into signing contracts for Vacation Club Memberships for thousands of dollars and consumers found after purchasing packages that they did not realize the savings indicated in the sales presentations." read more

I was in Cancun during the thanksgiving weekend for a friends wedding and they selected this hotel for the festivities. First of this is an adults only resort, being my first time being in Cancun and an all inclusive resort prior to going i didnt know what to expect. Through reviews here and elsewhere, this hotel lived up to its billing. I had a gorgeous room, i mean it wasnt a Preffered room but it was huge and stunning. Food was great, from Sea Salt, Market Cafe, Dragons, Blue Water, the sports bar etc, everything was fine. Drinks were a little bit on the sweet side but its all good. Tequila shots are readily available if that is your thing. All in all wonderful resort, i dont know when i will be back, but i will be sure ti return one of these days. Book without hesitation. I also didnt have any issues with the WIFI, its a big facility some places will have stronger connectivity than others. read more

well, I choose this place based on pictures and rate from expedia.com the surprise was it doesn't tell that its not recommended for students spring break! starting from the price it ended up around $900 a night for me and my friends, so we should expect more than what we saw, we've tried almost everything from the food since it was everything included and I feel that I was eating an expired food all the time, and if you're ordering from the room service food you should order at least 4 dishes for one person because they give you almost nothing to eat! second thing the maids they never do it perfect, I stayed for 5 nights and everyday they forget to put something such as; missing towels, soups, and some times they ignored my room to clean ... of course I will say there was good stuff too that the hotel looks nice and clean but this wasn't enough for what we paid. Laundry service wasn't that bad, my white shirt wasn't 100% clean but the good thing it finished on the same day don't be shocked if sometimes they didn't answer the phone for room service too ... anyways I was not sure of giving the place between 3 or 4 starts but what I'm sure about that its not a good place for a group of friends or students to stay here, and the amount of money I spent here it wasn't worth it too. I absolutely LOVED my stay and literally have nothing bad to say about it! We booked our stay through Apple Vacations and they picked us up from the airport and took us to the resort and scheduled our pick up. The views, pools, staff, and restaurants/bars were all amazing! The rooms were cleaned every day and the bar was constantly stocked. MIRIAM was our personal butler and did an amazing job of helping us out with everything! The staff knew us by name and room every single time we interacted and even helped me find my dad when we got separated during the night. Everyone also knew we were there celebrating for our birthday and Miriam arranged to set up decorations in our room complete with balloons, streamers, dessert, and door banner! It was so sweet! I loved staying active by playing sand volleyball and sand soccer instead of being stuck in the gym. My all-time favorite staff members were VALERIA AND ANA, both sisters, who are part of the entertainment crew! They were so sweet and full of energy and did such a great job of getting guests involved in activities. If I lived in Cancun, I would definitely befriend them Carlos and Norberto also stood out as great employees! If Internet and air conditioning are not your priority, skip this review. This has to be one of the most beautiful properties I've stayed in. Everything has been designed and decorated in such a tasteful and modern way. The food is ok considering it's an all inclusive. I'm here (still checked in) because of a business conference which ended on Friday. I initially denied to stay until Monday and use the weekend to catch up on email and do some light work. Unfortunately I decided to leave early because the Internet is almost useless. I keep getting disconnected from my phones and iPad. In addition, the lowest temperature setting on the a/c is 20 deg C (68F). That doesn't mean your room reaches that temperature. If keeping your room cold is important to you, this hotel is not your place. Other minor annoyances were the hallway acoustics. One can hear a knock or a voice down the hall with the door closed. This is truly a 5 star hotel but for me it's a 3 only because those two issues are important to me. If that's not your case, I highly recommend this place. read more

The reviews here are accurate. The resort is pristine, great customer service and beautiful rooms with views. Food was just ok although I managed to find things I liked, after 4 days we were sick of resort food so we walked across the street to Fred's for crab and that was Delicious. Walked to the corner to catch the bus for $1 to get downtown and that was easy and cheap! We were never harassed by timeshare folks. Spa was incredible and I highly recommend the wine massage. I am picky about food that's why food everywhere is problem to me. Overall food was fine. I just want worn people who see $200 resort credit when you book your tickets in the resort this $200 resort credit will decrease to $40 which you should use inside hotel services for example spa, romantic dinner, etc. So, I booked spa. Me and my bf enjoyed spa. I don't know why it is decreasing in the hotel but.... that's we leave without answer. Overall, we enjoyed Secret the Wine. read more

I have stayed at secrets the vine on 2 separate occasions and been completely satisfied each time ! I stayed 2 years ago while celebrating my money moon and this past May while celebrating a friends bachelorette. Each time the service was impeccable , the resort is clean and the staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Although it is all inclusive we still always bring roughly 100 singles so we can tip our servers and bartenders throughout our stay. Be sure to try the green juice they serve at breakfast it's amazing . I will definitely be returning in the future read more

We stayed for 6 nights in April of 2019. Overall it was a good stay. This was our 10th all inclusive we've stayed at in Mexico. Probably ranked in the middle for us. Positives: Resort is VERY clean. The rooms are beautiful! Nicest we've stayed at in Cancun for sure! Very spacious, balcony and views are great. We had a wonderful butler named Mario, who was very helpful and was even available by text. The beach is nice (a lot of locals selling stuff but they walk away if you just nod no), great area to swim and the seaweed isn't as bad as other Mexican beaches I've been on. Pools were ok,no floaty devices around the main pools which would have been nice. Italian restaurant was very good and we loved our waitress, Maria, she was our favorite all week and remembered us by name when we went back on our last night. The steak house was also very good, best dessert we had was there. Service was extremely good at this resort and we had no issues with any staff. Oh and the coffee bar is Great! Negatives: The food was just OK. Not bad by any means, but we just weren't "Wow'd" by some of it. I was surprised for a secrets resort that their buffet breakfast and buffet lunch area wasn't better. Breakfast was much better if you ordered room service. The lunch buffet just seemed like odd choices. And the Mexican night outside had great choices but was not kept warm enough. All the food was cold. We could always find something to eat that we liked it just wasn't what we have experienced at other all inclusive. The other thing I missed was a swim up bar. I didn't think I would care that there wasn't one but we did miss this. Pool chairs were hard to come by if you went out too late in the day. Beach chairs seemed easier to get but you might not get an umbrella If that matters to you. We did the preferred club and we loved that pool for later in the day because the sun wasn't blocked by the building then, and service in the preferred area was VERY good. The adult entertainment could use improvement. We did not watch an entire show the whole week and we've seen much better things at other resorts. It was a great relaxation trip. It's a quiet resort for being in Cancun. A lot of couples. The resort spa prices are ridiculous but a few friends of ours have used the spa down the road and enjoyed it so I would check that out to save a few hundred dollars if your looking for massages. $300+ for a couples massage seems so crazy to me (and this was the special price). Very Nice Experience! They greeted us with champagne when we came in to the hotel. The gentleman working the front desk, Alvaro kindly upgraded my room from the ground floor to the 16th floor with a stellar view. All the staff were extremely nice and professional. They were also pretty down to earth as they would crack all kinds of jokes. You could tell they really enjoyed their work. Only thing that was kinda lame is that you cannot have guests unless you pay 210 usd per person. Other than that, it was amazing. read more

I am going to give 4 stars because of the beach and because food was not always good. Let me say first, that hotel is beautiful. Fantastic rooms. Incredibly clean, as the whole hotel is. Stuff is probably the best we ever experienced in any of the hotels in Cancun ( this was our 11th time staying in a different hotels in Cancun). We really did not have to move, If we wanted something, there was always someone who can help you or serve you. Really impressive! Beach. Beds where not comfortable. Lots of them broken. Beds around the pool are fantastic. So it would be just perfect if they can use the same beds, on the beach. In every other adult hotel that we`ve been there is always cabanas on the beach, big massive beds for two or something similar. There was nothing like that here. For us, Asian restaurant was the best. Fantastic service. Ask to be served by Orlando, he is incredible and gives fantastic recommendations. Breakfast was always good, but I can not say the same for lunch. Not too many options, and considering that it is Mexico, no shrimp or lobster ever!! Just one kind of fish every day. Came here in June for a quick birthday weekend getaway. It was so worth it just wish we could have stayed longer! Once we arrived it was like we were transported to a heavenly oasis. We were welcomed home and our bags were immediately taken. We were greeted by our butler with a glass of champagne and we were whisked to the 26th floor for our private check in. As a vip gold member we were upgraded to preferred club service which included an upgraded room! They even decorated the room for my birthday! Our room was not ready but we were allowed to enjoy the all inclusive benefits while we waited. We had lunch at Olio. The food was the best out of the few restaurants we were able to try. The buffet was okay and sea salt was so so. The private snack lounge on the 21st floor was great, premium drinks and some snacks. The pools were plentiful and the beach was clean. The cabanas were also first come first serve and there were so many we never had to wait for one. The room was spacious and modern and we had a beautiful view from our balcony. The spa was on the 12th floor and the view was spectacular. We didn't get to try the spa but it looked and smelled luxurious. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. We truly felt like royalty. Definitely would recommend this resort and hope to visit again. read more

Would give 5 star, but amenities we were looking for at times we could not find. Pool by beach had rude bartenders. I reported it because many people from our party stated the same. The staff from the front made up for it, I didn't expect to get a knock on my door with a bottle of Don julio. I was surprised. We go to have a relaxed fun time. The management I feel understand that. Anything I ordered I got, and more. Food ,drinks, clean room at all times. Even over stocked us. Great place!! Had a great time at this resort! Came here for a bachelorette party and we had a great time! The rooms are very modern and spacious, we had two to three girls per room and it was more then enough space. The customer service is impeccable, rooms are always spotless and they do turn down service twice a day. We also randomly had apples and a bottle of wine delivered to our door one day, weird combo, but nonetheless a very nice touch! The 'day food' aka by the beach is okay, not amazing. Chips and guac and pretty standard, they did make me a customized veggie burrito which was pretty good, so points for that. The dinner is where the restaurant really shines. The Mediterranean restaurant was probably my fav, had the fatush salad, falafel and meza platter- all highly recommended! The Italian restaurant is also very good, they have focaccia bread (droool), the minestrone soup and spaghetti was really good as well. My one complaint is after our main courses were served it seemed as if the waiter forgot about us. We ended spending an extra hour at the restaurant just waiting around to get a dessert menu.. which is crazy considering there isn't even a bill to wait for! Also... do NOT order fries at the resort.. I have NO idea why, but their fries are abysmal, no other way to describe it. They are always hard and cold no matter what time of the day you order them. Other then those two things .. I would highly recommend the resort, the views are beautiful and the customer service is impeccable. read more

We have been here less than 24 hours and Secrets of the Vine is a huge disappointment! Note, we are seasoned travelers, however not too picky. When arrived there was no champaign greeting and we were told our room would be ready in 30-60 minutes and to have lunch. After lunch we returned to the 21st floor to check in and the young male staff member argues with us that checkin is at 3pm regardless. This is our 5 year anniversary and my wife had been working prior to the trip with Ms. Pena to have our room decorated, champaign, etc during the evening of arrival - that did not happen. In addition, our air conditioning did not work and we were told the room was the coolest it will get. After calling again about it someone came to fix it. Dinner on the 12th floor's blue water grill was a fiasco, we understand an hour wait on a Wednesday evening at 930p, however the Manager Hector had said their peak time was 7-9p and after I told him how long we had waited and it was past peak time he had no comment. There are no reservations, however we saw large and small groups come in an be seated in less than 20 minutes. We then told there were still 3 more couples waiting before us. After I returned to the bar area, we are miraculously approached and our table is ready. The ribeye steak was cold and full of gristle and the dinner continued for 2 hours of very poor service. The table next to us had a staff member eating in uniform and the wait staff were very attentive to her throughout the few hours. We talked to Hector again and he wanted us to come back and we told him although on vacation, I don't want to spend another 3 hours for terrible food. We were told this is typical of every nights dining to wait for mediocre food - unbelievable! We have stayed at Dreams (family) resorts before and were even married there and loved it, however the amount of money spent at Secrets of the Vine is simply not worth it here! We purchased our trip through Costco which was great, however due to this big disappointment I will looking into a refund due to dissatisfaction. Unfortunately, we are her for 6 more days. One whole most working staff are nice, it's a beautiful clean property and the drinks/beer are, good albeit very inconsistent. read more

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation this is definitely the place to go. The staff treat you like you are royalty here. They are at your beckon call 24 hours a day and always with a smile on their face. There are even staff members whose sole job to is party with the guests to make your stay as fun as possible. A special shout out to my homies Osmin, Sunday Funday, and especially our Kababayan homie David for making our stay so fun. And if the service is not enough the sway you, the food is outstanding! I couldn't get over eating at a 5 star restaurant every night and not getting a check at the end of the meal. The amenities are luxuries and super spotless. You could walk around the hotel with no shoes and the bottoms of your feet were spotless (unlike my own floor). The staff, the food, the amenities, all super awesome!! I love this place - awesome hotel and service. Cleanliness is really important to me and this place is spotless. The room we had was huge with amazing views of the ocean, a bath overlooking the ocean, and an awesome shower for two. The food was pretty good for an all-inclusive and they had little day time snacks by the pool which was a nice touch. The staff is really nice and welcoming as well. First, the good: The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and attentive. They took care of everything and we had no problems with any staff. The room was nice, the pools were good and the facilities overall were very clean and well-kept. The not so good: Food was mediocre overall. Some good (the lunch and breakfast buffets), some okay (Olio and Dragon) and some not very good (Sea Salt.) Eat dinner before 7. Otherwise, you may be waiting a long time for a table. It's a very noisy motel. The hallways are tiled, so every closing door, every voice and every footstep echoes up and down the entire floor. Rooms facing the Hard Rock resort overlook a pool and dining area, so avoid lower floors on that side. It was very noisy late into the night, but the abundant free beer/wine/mixed drinks helped with sleep. The beach isn't really a swimming beach. Floating clumps of sea weed were so thick swimming wasn't much of an option, but the resort staff worked hard to clean the beaches of it each morning. There isn't much night-life, but after drinking by the pool all day, maybe that's a good thing. WiFi was weak, too. On a side note, if you want to go snorkeling, don't go with Cancun Sailing, which was arranged through the Amstar folks at Secrets. It's a party boat with about 20 minutes of snorkeling time and the rest spent drinking on board the boat, walking around a touristy island and drinking some more. It was a fun day overall, but there was very little snorkeling. Also, don't go if you aren't into drinking with 150 others. Despite the not-so-goods, I'd most certainly go back if I was into this type of vacation and I would absolutely recommend it for those who like to sit by a pool all day with a drink by their side. read more

Service = Excellent Food = Average Noise level inside of room = Below average, substandard Size and "Outer" Beauty of hotel including the entrance = Excellent Price = Expensive In general it's a nice hotel, especially if you are easily impressed by size and layout, décor, etc. The food is generic, however it is prepared very well, netting the average mark. The service, no matter where you go or whomever you speak with, is excellent. A gentleman named Moises works outside, he is one of the major reasons for this hotel's success quite frankly. Always smiling, always a kind word, and always polite--his positive energy is infectious to everyone, if a staff member of Secrets, The Vine is reading this post, TAKE NOTE AND PROMOTE MOISES. The price is way too high considering the loudness of the room once inside. Why they set up the door to run parallel to the headboard in every hotel room is beyond me as the doors slam shut while the hallways (even as beautiful as they look) are loud and buzzing with noise constantly. Oh, the spa, while expensive is well worth it--you have to check it out--it's an experience like no other--as if you're on a completely different planet. read more

warning stay far away from secrets the vine. every corner you turn and they're trying to sell you something mainly timeshares.. The food is absolutely terrible the service at the restaurants, horrible. My last night at secrets the vine I had called front desk asking for a late check out, they said sorry we have people coming for that room, the most we could do is give you an extra 30 minutes in your room..... Please after spending thousands of dollars you can give me only 30 minutes of a late check out ???? ridiculous....... we stayed in a Junior suite preferred level with an ocean view ,lagoon view and a city view. Don't waste your money. If you are planning on coming out to Cancun Mexico look into the Hyatt Zilarra if you want to stay in more of a luxury hotel if you want to stay in more of a party atmosphere hotel( Hard Rock) If you want to stay in a non-inclusive the JW Marriott or the Ritz Carlton are both very nice hotel. Secrets the vine definitely lost my business. We come to Cancun to have a nice relaxing 20th anniversary and feel pressure the entire time with timeshares. If I could give this place a zero I would but it won't let me that's why it's getting a one star. We just got back and we were definitely disappointed. The cons outweighed the pros. The place is very beautiful, service was good not great. Disappointed in our rooms, no privacy on the balconies from room to room and because they are facing other properties. Our first night there we had to call the front desk, we found soiled sheets on our made bed (not a good start of our vacation). they advertise premium liq (I wouldn't call Jim beam a premium bourbon) only beer and soda in our rooms and the food was horrible! We actually left the property twice so we could eat great food. What they did do very well is have a great 4th of July celebration for all of us Americans, It was fantastic. They sang the National Anthem, fireworks and a great concert. I am sure others have had better experiences or want something different from their vacations but I enjoy great food and drink and expect that for what we paid. Their customer service, food and cleanliness can't hold a candle to IberoStar Star Prestige right down the road.. read more

Where do I start? Well, I am super late with this review but kept telling myself i need to do one. FYI We stayed here Late May. My boyfriend and I originally did not book this resort but was transferred here due to our other preferred choice resort cancelling on us when they delayed their grand opening in May. I just honestly want to say we were so happy that this happened lol. The beach is TO DIE FOR.. The water looks better than my wallpaper at my work desktop computer (LOL) You dont even want to get out of the ocean! the sand is so soft and the beach is super clean and sparkly, incredible.. the service? TO DIE FOR.. we were greeted so nicely, champagne handed to us and all, from the bartenders, to the waitresses/waiters, everyone was just so nice and very welcoming. They all seemed to enjoy what they were doing and to find a team this happy to deal with snobby people from all over the world is beyond comprehension. Everyone was awesome , I loved the staff here. The food ?? HOMAHGAH TO DIE FOR... literally every piece of food i ate at this place whether it was the pretzel at the little cafe spot in the lobby to the buffet to the Italian place, EVERYTHING was delicious guys. I ate soooooooo much!! Me and my guy are foodies and we love to try things out and that we did lol,. All in all, this place is sooooooo great. My husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon and we truly had an amazing time. This was a beautiful resort and one that I can see myself returning to. The staff were absolutely amazing and attentive. We never had to wait too long for assistance. The pools were all beautiful and the views were breathtaking. I also loved the fact that it was so close to the airport. Although I got a pretty bad burn during our first day, it did not put a damper on my trip. The food was pretty good. Everything looked very pretty but some things definitely tasted better than others. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because I felt that this place lacked in entertainment. It is an adults only resort but at time it felt like a 65+ resort. My husband and I had to walk a few resorts down to actually enjoy some entertainment at nights. All in all, I had a great a great trip. I was looking forward to relaxing and that is pretty much what I did. read more

Secrets the vine was Amazing. By far the most luxurious and relaxing vacation I have ever been on. I'm already planning my next trip here.

I have been to several all inclusive resorts throughout Mexico and this is by far the worst one of them all. In fact, it would be a shame to call it an all inclusive because there seems to be things that are not included that the other resorts do include. But I digress. Lets start with the good: The Good: Our room was pretty good. It was large, the bed was comfortable and clean. While the direct view was of the resort next door, the indirect view was of the ocean and it was pretty decent. The shower was nice if not a little loud as it is encased in glass as is the separate toilet. The sound of the water hitting the shower floor was near deafening but overall tolerable. Pool side service was great. We made a point of sitting pool side in Martha's section the entire time, with a great view of the ocean. Martha was attentive and kept all of our drinks filled. The Beach was clean and convenient. I've stayed in resorts where you had to trek 1/2 a mile to get to the beach so the fact that it was right there was really nice. They kept it clean and beach service was pretty good though we only laid out on the beach 1 one day. The overall friendliness of the staff was decent. Alas the best part was being with my friends and my wife, I really enjoyed that aspect of the trip however this would have been the case no matter where we had stayed. The Bad: The Wi-Fi is horrible. Don't expect to be able to use it consistently and don't get the Secrets App because it sucks. Couldn't use it to do anything. This is the stingiest all-inclusive I have ever been too. The mini bar was a joke, stocked with 5 mini bottles of corona. I called room service to have a bottle of wine sent up for my wife and I and was told I would have to pay for it. WTF???? I've stayed in resorts where I would ask the bartender for a bottle of vodka and it would be handed over no questions asked. Here is not the case. Even during dinner, when I ordered a glass of wine they wouldn't even put the bottle down on the table even if you asked them to just leave it they would tell you that they can't. This happened even after we spent nearly $5000 on wine over two dinners. More on that in a minute. The restaurants in an effort to provide some semblance of exclusivity would tell you that it is going to be an hour wait. This happened every night despite the fact that we sat outside their doors and watched as a bunch of table sat empty and they kept telling everyone the wait was going to be an hour. While this is annoying it only gets worse once you actually sit down and eat. The food is inconsistent. Great when you're willing to drop some serious coin on wine, blah if you're not. Nebiolo's antipasti bar was great but the Ossobucco was 90%fat. The asparagus risotto was nice though. The first night at steakhouse/grill was decent but this is where things got weird. So one of my friends ordered two bottles of 2010 Opus One's Mondavi Rothchild at $900 a bottle which of course got our waiters attention. Our group went from being relatively ignored to being lauded upon by the staff. Understandable I suppose. The waiter did is part upsetting my friend and by the end of the dinner we had promised to come back the next night to indulge in 3 more bottles. We made a reservation for 8pm, which we were told that the restaurants are a first come first serve basis, and when we showed up we had our own private table with our own violinist. Seriously, you can't make theist stuff up. Anyway the server pulled out all the stops and brought us a appetizers from all the restaurants including sushi, which by the way was excellent I should have mentioned that in the "good" section. the main course was a sliver platter full of lobster tails, fillet mignon (overcooked though), shrimp skewers and salmon. It was all very rich and, on top of it all, served to us by the "Chef". Nice touch. So we ended up drinking 3 more bottles of the Opus and then something strange happened. My friend, who had ordered the wine, went up to his room to get his wife a sweater, our table was outside and she was sunburnt, you know how that goes. When he got to his room his key wouldn't work. He went to the front desk to get it fixed only to be told that he needed to pay for the wine he had ordered before they would restore access to his room. So all of this luxury and this is really how they treat people. They held the mans room hostage in order to make him pay for something that he was more than willing to pay for. I really didn't understand it. I've worked in the service industry for decades and I've never heard of anything like this happening. So this really put a damper on the last day of the trip. While it was nice to not be in Chicago where it was 20 below zero, I would have rather have stayed at a different resort, one where they value the customers they have and treat them with the respect that they deserve. read more

+ Nice rooms, we had a spacious corner room overlooking the lagoon with a wraparound balcony + Two rain shower heads with separate handles in large shower + large bathtub in the middle of the room + lagoon view is where the sun will set at night + international breakfast and lunch buffet is where you want to eat as well as the Asian-fusion restaurant. The cooks at the buffet will make you other things than omelettes and pasta if requested, e.g. a nice big piece of grilled salmon ==== - 1-2 hour wait for the steak restaurant had us have dinner at 10 pm. Ribe Eye is basically cut in half. Order the filet mignon if you have to go to the steak house - staff expects to be tipped for everything - staff seems overworked and unmotivated, you get the vibe left and right - you might randomly find maintenance crew or housekeeping in your room even when privacy was requested - It was raining white paint from the ceiling when painters were working on the hallway one morning - complaints to the concierge or front desk will result in nothing. They will not set anything right or make up for any inconvenience you may experience - Multiple times a day they will try to upsell you on upgrades and addons - "Preferred club" is a total joke and waste of money - mini bar in the room has pop and mini coronas, no nips, nothing else - Room service will take up to 2 hours and the room service food sucks. If they tell you that the food is on its way, it's not. Unless you're super hungover from all the mixed drinks, schlep yourself downstairs - the barista station in the lobby is a nice touch and the pastries are pretty good. The coffee, however, will always taste bitter and burned and this is coming from a guy who likes strong coffee Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place but it was also my first (and last) all-inclusive experience. We spent three nights here at the tail end of our Mexico vacation before flying out of Cancun and the hotel zone is an absurd scene. We went two doors down to the Ritz for our last night and had a wonderful time. read more

Really loved it here. Found it really hard to leave the resort because of the many restaurants and pools, beach, gym and of course the awesome service. What I also liked was that it was an adult resort so no children running around which is great for young adults. read more

Of all the resorts we stayed, this is still our favorite! We're coming back here for the third time this year! The staff is all amazing, friendly and helpful. The rooms are 100% and the food here is so ammmmazing! Defiantly one of a top resorts in Cancun! read more
