So many 5* reviews because this place rocks! I have gone to several upscale salons around Camelback and Biltmore, and they never get the blonde right. It's always too orange, yellow or blue. Don't they know what blonde means?! Sheesh, I mean that is their business to know! I've even brought photos on my phone to show them what I wanted. They don't listen. They overcomplicate the whole process. They layer all kinds of products and services. They say they cannot achieve the blonde you want without using a toner/glaze. They say they cannot lighten your hair enough with just bleach. They say that would damage your hair. Then they put you under a hot dryer, use super hot water to shampoo/rinse you, and blow dry your hair with superheated air -- which actually damages years of hair growth. Then they offer you a deep conditioning treatment. They are purposely causing damage so they can charge for a hair cut to cut off the damage. They use several steps and products which take 3-4 hours and charge you $300-$500 for all their time and "effort" when all you needed was some bleach without even going under a dryer, some purple shampoo in the bowl, a quick blow dry (ON MEDIUM HEAT) and you're outta there. SECTION HAIR STUDIO IS HONEST. HOW REFRESHING! Kristy LISTENS. Kristy knows what BLONDE means. Kristy keeps things SIMPLE. Kristy doesn't DAMAGE your hair. Kristy won't kill your BUDGET. read more

My daughter goes here all the time so I took my mom to have her gray roots touched up and she looked great! She really enjoyed talking with Kylie as well. The studio walls have cool art style graffiti on them. Highly recommend for any age! read more

I've been going to Kristy (owner) since about 2004. She was referred to me by a co-worker who had the most beautiful blonde hair. I've been so many other places to try to get my hair that perfect shade of platinum blonde and no one has been able to do it like Kristy can. And my hair doesn't feel damaged after she does it. I don't know if it's just my hair or if she has some sort of special techinque but whatever it is, it keeps me going back! I've gone from platinum to black then back to platinum then to red, then back to black and then back to platinum more times than I can count...But no matter how dark I go she can always manage to get me back to that beautiful blonde I love. Sierra has done my hair on numerous occasions, even after I moved away from Phoenix (now that's service!!). It's not easy to bleach out dark brown roots, then get the color on them to match the rest of an already neon red head, without having a band around the hair from bleach overlap. But with her skills, my hair looked flawless. No bands or lines. She's extremely talented and professional, but still really fun to spend all that hair processing time with. Not only did my hair look amazing whenever she did a color/cut, but somehow, my hair always felt healthier when she was done with it as well. Until Sierra, I did not enjoy having my hair cut in a salon. Since my first hair cut with her a year or two ago, I have gone to nobody but her--and referred as many as my friends to her as possible. She is warm and respectful (and FAST, detail-oriented, and affordable!), and does a fantastic job of determining what hair cut and dye will work for me. I've seen her do amazing cuts and styles on people with long hair, medium hair, and people with short hair--whether those cuts are edgy or more tame. She's helped me grow my hair out from an undercut (without looking ridiculous), taught me how to style it myself, and commiserated with me when I have had to keep the dye jobs tame because of my day jobs. (and, if you are looking for someone to do a gender neutral cut, a masculine cut on a non-male person, or a super awesome queer haircut, Sierra should be at the top of your list!) read more

I got my hair done with Kylie and she is fantastic! I had to book three weeks in advance, but it was worth the wait. She took the time to really get it right, even though it took over an hour longer than she had planned. The color was amazing, the curl was awesome and she was FAST. My hair has taken over eight hours to cut and color with people less experienced, and she had me cut, colored (a few different colors!), washed, dried and styled in three hours. And I have a TON of hair. Plus she explained what she was doing, and why. It really added to the experience. I usually dread the small talk awkwardness with my stylists, and she was so fun I was laughing the entire time! Plus she let me do homework while my color sat, and she just sat there in silence and left me in peace. It was awesome. Totally recommend her, and her amazing skills! If I had time to make the drive, I would have her style my hair weekly! read more

I have been going to Sierra K for 6 months now. She has a wonderful personality, is professional and such fun. She also does fantastic cuts and sassy, perfect color without robbing me like the previous salon I was going to in Snobsdale. The salon itself is in a great downtown location with ample parking. Inside, The decor is interesting and the other stylists are always super nice as well. Someone always says hello and offers me a water or a coffee, its just a great, welcoming environment. Saw the reviews so decided to call to set up an appointment: they answered and hung up right away without saying a word. Didn't even get a call back right away so it's obvious they hung up purposefully and it wasn't on accident. If they can treat new customers like that, they will not be getting my service. read more

If i could leave zero stars i would!!! Had the worst experience with Sierra at this salon. Purchased a Groupon and when i called to schedule in November she said she was out of the country all month. Then agreed to set up an appt after her return in December. So she redeemed my Groupon and i trusted she would honor the services. The day of my appt my grandmother passed away and i messaged her that morning trying to reschedule. She stopped responding to my messages for a week. I called and left voicemails and texted and not until I said i felt ripped off did ahe finally reply saying she was too booked and couldn't schedule me all of December. I was upset since i had basically trusted her and waited for her to come back to get my hair cut. So I politely asked her for a refund to which her response was."you're going to have to contact Groupon and figure that out yourself". Wow. My word....greed gets you only so far in the life. And i guess empathy isn't her strong suit. I still haven't gotten my refund. I had to contact groupon to explain the whole situation since she had already redeemed the voucher. Anyways....Beware! She isn't the most ethical person in my opinion!! read more

All I have to say is Sierra!!! girl knows what she is doing. I found her at a previous salon and boy oh boy was I mad! My hair was a disaster...and I came to her to fix it and she did!!! Not only did she fix it...she changed my attitude, she listened to what I wanted and how frustrated I was, and let me tell you by the end of my experience there I left happy and sassy with a cuteeeee hair cut!. I have followed her for a few years now to every salon she's been with and I couldn't be happier. She is always there to really do her best at her skill. I have never once been unsatisfied with my hair and even if maybe our ideas weren't exactly 100% eye to eye she was easy to talk to about it and IMMEDIATELY made it right!(:. I have now moved back to california and am contemplating taking the short plane ride to get my hair done because I don't want anyone else to touch it. I don't know how the other stylists are but I can say they are always EXTREMELY pleasant and will acknowledge that you're there with a hello or a compliment on your hair its such an awesome at home environment.
