I unfortunately and unknowingly purchased my tickets via Secure Box Office via a web link back in January of 2022. Secure Box Office refuses to refund me for my purchase and instead is offering me a credit with an expiration date. I do not want a credit I want a refund, but they claim that their terms and agreements state that if an event is cancelled, you may be entitled to a refund under applicable law. If not, you will be given compensation. They are claiming the credit being issued as compensation. What is the applicable law entitling me to my refund? I decided to go through my credit card company and dispute the charges for services not rendered. I purchased the ticket in January and the event was cancelled the week of in July so my credit card company, Discover, told me it was too old of a transaction for them to do anything other than contact the vendor. Secure Box Office sent them the receipt of purchase. I was not denying the purchase, but instead wanting a refund for an event that was cancelled. After ordering tickets to a baseball game, I received three emails stating that my tickets would be emailed shortly and that I needed to "accept" them. I checked my inbox and spam time and time again and never received the tickets. I took my family to the game and bought new tickets at the box office. I then contacted secure box office and asked that they simply refund my money ($130.38, around $50 more than at the park). They told me that the tickets were transferred and that they would not do that. They were essentially calling me a liar. I placed another call. This time I thought I would find someone who cared about the customer. I did not. This woman decided to try to patronize me and then I asked for a supervisor. I didn't get one. Instead I got another random worker who claimed he was the highest up the ladder. He gave me the same song and dance. As if I wanted to be on the phone for hours. He proceeded to tell me that "I failed to access the tickets that were sent." I replied that I never got the tickets and he then attempted to hang up on me. This company does not care about you in any way. They will never do the right thing for their customers and are crooks. I assure you that I never got an email with tickets. There was nothing to access, yet the company still insists on saying that I am wrong. I have disputed the sale with my bank and I hope that works before I have to take them to court. The service was just terrible and made me lost all the money for my tickets. I had tickets to see Neil deGrasse Tyson, a show that was postponed several times because the pandemic. A week before the show was actually going to happen, I tried to confirm that my tickets were still valid (the downloadable tickets kept saying 04/05/2020, instead of 11/16/2021), but SecureBoxOffice didn't answer my question until the same day of the event. Before that, although they connected me several times to a chat, this one always closed after a brief period of time elapsed, without warning and not answering any question. We bought tickets for Hamilton in Portland, OR in Feb. 2020 for the shows that were going to take place in 2021. Those shows were postponed. When Hamilton came to Portland in April 2022 for a month, we tried to get our tickets but SBO kept insisting that the show was postponed and wasn't showing. I called them almost everyday and "chatted" with them online and they told me the same thing over and over. They won't give me my money back because the show was never canceled. I found out from the venue that Hamilton tickets were never sold for the 2021 show at all. They didn't go onsale until 2022. So SecureBoxOffice sold me tickets they didn't have. The purchase was in Dec 2021. The concert was June 1st of 2022. I contacted them numerous times about getting my tickets and each time was told that I would get them by may 31st. Well... I kept calling and did not get the email link for the tickets until the afternoon of June 1st!! Now I had read so many bad reviews about this company that I filed a complaint with my credit card company months earlier. In the end I could not use the tickets (who knows if they were even legit). Tickets are very easy to purchase, however this business charges almost three times the actual amount of the ticket. When you are purchasing the ticket you think you are getting great seats. When you get the ticket you find out the actual price of the seat, which is way less than what you are charged. I called within the hour of making a purchase to cancel, and was told no. No cancellation by three different people. Each Hispanic accented person told me the next person to come on the phone can "assist" but they tell you no. No cancellation. I was on the phone with these people for over an hour. One time it sounded like the person i was speaking to was in a kitchen. I could hear people yelling in the background. I was charged $281 for two tickets that were valued at $53.00 each! I couldn't believe it. I tried to purchase tickets for an event with a credit I have from a canceled concert. Web site locked up when trying to confirm order, asking for information already entered. Never did get the order processed. Customer service by phone is only from 9-5. In this day and age, to limit customer service like that is ridiculous. I paid over $511 for the tickets, not realizing that this was a 3rd party company. I found out in February that the event was postponed due to COVID-19. Okay, sad, but doable for next year. Turns out that they ended up cancelling the concert. Their policy states that refunds are given if an event is cancelled. No stipulations that would prevent it, they will refund. I have an email from Alondra in customer support where she says I will be refunded yesterday. Today, I receive an email where they are only giving STORE CREDIT! That is not acceptable, and told them so. My advice, report them to the BBB. Intended or not this ticket seller put us in what appeared to be bait and switch. On day of the event they called only hours before saying our 4 tickets were sold. They offered 4 Lesser seats or cancellation, knowing we intended to sell them because of Covid. They promised full refund same day if we canceled, which we did. I used Secure box office to buy tickets for Carlos Santana for our anniversary. We just happened to schedule when he had his heart issue, and the concert was cancelled. They gave us credit for the tickets, and we rescheduled for February when it was announced he would be extending his residency to accommodate for the shows he canceled. We upgraded our tickets to have actual seats this time. Well lucky us, the concert got cancelled a second time. Now they are only giving us credit for what we paid to upgrade our seats. So we're getting 140 dollars back on 650 dollars worth of tickets. It is completely impossible to talk to a person on their help line or their "live chat" about canceled tickets. Do not book tickets through this company- they charge a ton of fees and you can find tickets cheaper somewhere else. Also, our event got cancelled and we were given a credit to use for another event. We tried to use it online but got an error. When we emailed them, they told us to call. When we called, the automated line hung up on us. When we called and selected a different option and finally got a person, they redirected us to the same line that hangs up on you. When we talked to someone a 2nd time, they told us our credits had expired 3 days earlier but we were never given the expiration date.
