I wish there was a negative star I could provide. THEY called me to purchase my car...I explain what I was looking for and they did not have it. They offer me $19.4k over the phone, and I tell Lyndsey that GMC has already offered me more. She says come over so Scott can see it to get a better price. I explain to her my son is disabled and will be with me so we could coordinate...we set a time. I drive 25 minutes and arrive at the time agreed. I cal from outside when I arrived and didn't reach her so I left a message, I call again and get Michelle (who I find out later is the manager) who gives me all sorts of reasons why $17k is all they can do. I explained my conversation with Lyndsey and these sleazy dirtbags don't even look at the car after driving 25 minutes, after I had an appointment...the typical BAIT AND SWITCH used car dealer slime sleazy nonsense. Avoid these people at all costs. Waste of time. Oh, then I call back to get a manager to explain why they should expect a complaint from me and who gets on the phone...Michelle!! Absolutely worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Just recently leased a second jeep from them and not even three months in and my car is not running properly. Take it in for service and they refuse to even look at it because they had no one to look at it and they had to keep it for 2-3 weeks and we're unable to provide me for a loaner car. After refusing to drive my car home they took it for a test drive and found nothing wrong with yet they want me to make an appointment to drop it off so they can look into it? Have no idea what the point of that was. Unfortunately I did not get my service advisors name but she had a nasty attitude and was just overall rude. For some reason whoever they would send my truck to get my headlights work done couldn't get it properly fixed so i had to pay someone else to redo the work for me. Called 4 hours ahead asking about seeing a truck. Arrived with my infant child only to have the sales guy unable to find the car and had us walk through 1 lot only to want us to cross 4 lanes of traffic to another lot with no cross walk. I walked with the salesman while my wife and child stayed behind. The car was boxed in by 3 other cars and he asked me do you like? I said I cant even see it and asked are you going to move the other cars, so I can test drive it and look in it? Manager got involved, very nice but refused to negotiate a penny even when the car has been sitting for months. So now my understanding is the car was sent to auction for being unable to sell. With all the competition Id recommend you go somewhere else who focuses on sales, service and not volume. read more

BUYER beware!!!!! I got baited into Security Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram today over the internet, based on a better deal I could supposedly get if I came in. Well, that was BS. And like others have posted, you get this feeling like your a small fry, and you're wasting their time by not immediately agreeing to their terms. Turns out the brand new challenger I came to buy was either left with the windows open or possibly floated around in recent flooding because the entire floorboard was a puddle! The senior salesman told me this happens all the time, and it's absurd for me to worry about it. This establishment was a very pleasant and quick experience when leasing my new car. The man that helped me, Anthony Palvone, was very quick and eager to jump to sell us on the car. We were to to come back the next day to pick up the car and do an insurance transfer. The process of insurance and picking up the car took about an hour and a half longer then the process of negotiating the price. I felt like their priority with customers is to sell and that's it. I was promised a phone call back from the owner JJ Vigorito by Friday after speaking to the service director on Thursday. Instead I received a phone call from a service manager telling me they fixed the damage their employees did to the outside of my car and now cleaning the inside of my car and it will be ready Saturday. The owner could not make time to call me because it's a holiday weekend and he's too busy making sales. Even worse they did not fix the mechanical safety problem my car originally went in for. I told the person I spoke to I will not be picking up the car until I speak to the owner and they fix the actual problem the car was there for. Then Saturday I received a call from another service manager that now they are ordered a part for my car to fix the issue. So they were going to return my car unfixed for a second time but think I should be happy they fixed the damage their employees did to the outside of my vehicle. Run away... unless you like being taken for a ride and having your time wasted. My husband called on one of the many 2016 Dodge SRT Challenger Hellcat leftovers they have in stock (7). The other dealer he had spoken to said Dodge offered dealer incentives to buy them because they were removing all the programs on this vehicle year for the 2017 Hellcat. He was also told that these cars have not been selling the last several months which is why there is an abundance of inventory on both 16's and 17's in and around NY. Security Dodge lists on their website up to 13K off (which we all know is a sales trick) but in reality every other dealer on this leftover is selling them at around cost after their special incentive purchase at $57,380. That's for an MSRP Challenger Hellcat that listed for around $68,000. So 11K off is more realistic. He called and asked to speak to a seasoned salesperson (as we all hate getting the new guy training) and instead they gave him Sam who claimed to be in sales. Sam is an internet guy who knows nothing about the cars. He repeated that he could get him up to $13,000 off on this particular vehicle did he want to leave a deposit. He said we would drive out from upstate NY to Long Island today if the price is right. (I wanted him to have this for Fathers Day). When Sam returned the call he told us his manager is willing to do a great deal at 2K off. We almost fell over laughing so hard. My husband called back and decided to speak to the sales manager to see if they wanted to really sell this car or not as Sam couldn't answer any questions except what was printed on their website. They passed him on to Jaime who claimed she was the manager. When he explained the dealings with Sam she apologized and asked exactly we were looking for. In the end, she told him she would have to go to her boss to find out. A sales manager having to go to another sales manager? If you want a straight shooting dealership who treats you fairly, stay far away from these clowns. Their fake promotions like 13K off are just to bring you into their dealership where they (in my case) try to hammer you. They seem to have no real sales people who can answer questions and like Jaime, no managers who can really make decisions. I went on AutoTrader when I hung up only to find 7 other dealerships with leftover Hellcats at much, much lower pricing and without playing all the false promo games. I guess we should have looked at all the 1 star reviews about Security Dodge on here before wasting our time. Hopefully, this review will save someone else the time and frustration we received and they will know better when reading their website under clearance and it claims blow out deals. Absolutely the worst customer service EVER. Don't be fooled by the "we've been in business for over 60 years" or the "we like to service our neighborhood" spiel they will bait you with. My husband and I purchased a 2015 Durango on 4/18 and was assured the vehicle went through a thorough point to point inspection. Needless to say, the "brakes were shimmying when trying to slow the vehicle down", "the AC blows hot air" and "the front bumper is misaligned". Let's not add the fact the sales rep "Corey" provided a contact number to a phone that he later advise he keeps turned off. We dropped the truck off on 4/23 to the Service Center. Two days later no follow-up, or explanation as to why the issue is taking so long. Next will be a complaint with the BBB regarding the farce of a dealership and the shady people they employ. I strongly suggest finding another dealership worth your time and money than to deal with these spineless pigs that only care about making money. Maybe they should all take some type of customer service course and learn how to communicate with people. Brittany the secretary who seems to field all incoming calls has no concept of urgency or wanting to assist in any way. Blind transferring people to a voicemail where no one returns your call is not customer service. This is a very poorly managed/operated dealership. Meeting a salesman from Security last month to test drive a Jeep Liberty and subsequently discussing a potential purchase both in person and via email was without a doubt the strangest experience I have ever had buying a car - or trying to buy one. I don't think I would ever set foot in the place again. The salesman simply would not give me any details on the car - which model or option packages contained the items I needed it to have (a roof rack and trailer hitch), what the MSRP was of a car with those options, what my affiliate discount through my company (which is supposed to be a no-haggle experience) was worth, what all the rebates added up to, etc. He just kept either throwing a monthly payment at me (this was a purchase, not a lease, so the payment is nice, but not what I needed to know), or a bottom line price that had no specifics where I didn't even know if it had the items I needed or which rebates and discounts had factored into it. I told him several times he was about to lose my business, but he had no reply. I can't tell if the guy just didn't know anything, or if he merely thought I was an idiot who could be led into a bad deal by giving me little information until the papers got shoved in front of me. I ended up contacting another Jeep dealer nearby where they answered all my questions in the first 5 minutes after I called them and I closed a deal with them the same evening. I closed and brought that car home today. Don't waste your time going to Security. This is sad to me - I am a longtime Amityville resident and I prefer to patronize local businesses. Brought my 2011 jeep wrangler (which I bought from them, and did a pretty penny worth of modifications on with them) for a textbook clutch problem. I have a lifetime added care plus warranty. They held onto my car for 18 days, yes over 2 weeks. Within this time frame i was told a number of different things were wrong, things were covered not covered all the while I have a copy of my warranty in front of me. Funny thing, I call to speak to my service provider and the run around and lack of professionalism i received over the phone from receptionist to other service providers to when I requested a manager conveniently no one was available or Bill was too busy to get in the phone. Finally they agreed to cover cost of my rental car - wasn't that sweet - they didn't have a loaner for me. Finally after 2 weeks Bill finally got on the phone and tells me he is appalled that a 2day brake job shouldn't take so long. So now its the brakes and manager Bill is off the phone, wow Bill that sure was a long phone call. They now have to order a part and my jeep will be ready the following day. Wait even better, they will deliver it and bring the rental car back - GREAT the first sign of professional business. Who was I kidding. I picked up my jeep today, In Amityville, a 54 min ride (24.2miles) and was less than happy about it. Upon arriving, one would think I would be met by a manager or compensated with a car wash right - WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My car was filthy, empty tank of gas - could barely get to station, my key no longer works, and I was left needing an oil change. WTF that is some serious foulness if I ever experienced any. To think my husband was going to buy a Charger, guess not. You lost a sale, a customer and someone who spoke highly of you Security dodge - U SUCK!!!!!! read more

The only reason I went to this dealership was because I wanted to support a local dealership near me. I've always heard the typical stories about dealerships and always thought they were over-exaggerated but never have I ever been so mad after my experience here. First of all, I waited over 5 hours to finally walk out with my car. I've brought this car in for service about 4 times already for numerous issues and its only been about 4 months. During the actual sale, my salesmen promised me the financing I needed and I didn't even haggle on the sticker price. I told him what I could afford monthly (wrong decision) and he again promised me I would get a specific number monthly to finance the car. 5 hours later I talk to the finance manager Vito and he increases the monthly payments by almost 100 dollars a month from what was promised to me by the salesman. I, having excellent credit, was not having this and proceeded to walk out. Of course, I was stopped at the door by another manager and I negotiated them giving me more for my trade in...or so I thought. READ YOUR PAPERWORK OR NEVER BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP EVER ! Four months later, I showed my contract to a friend of mine, who is a finance manager and who also almost got scammed by this dealership. What they did, he explained, in nut shell was scammed the bank and myself by adding my trade in value on top of the sticker price instead of subtracting it. So in other words they took my car for free and made me finance the entire car at sticker price instead of having me finance the amount after the trade in value. They manipulate their contracts and ultimately screw you over without you knowing until months later. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP THEY'RE A BUNCH OF SCAM ARTISTS ! read more

I have owned over half a dozen vehicles, dealt with different dealerships and service departments prior to this "gem". This is a review of their used car sales and service departments. Got a quote via Truecar for a used vehicle, when I got in - salesman Corey greeted me nicely. The place looks great and at first glance you may think you are in good hands. Unfortunately for me that feeling was short-lived. One of the first questions I asked was: were there ANY fees on top of what the Truecar quote said, Corey's initial answer was "no" only to nonchalantly mention a preparation fee of $500 about 30 min later - should have requested my deposit back and leave, unfortunately I didn't. Since the vehicle was "certified pre-owned" they needed to put it through a checklist and prep it for the sale, I was asked to come back the next day to finish the sale and pick up the car. So I did. Finally I am in the parking lot, getting into my new ride only to notice one of the tires is flat - which I was also notified about by the dash computer - big red warning message telling me the tire is down to 22PSI was the first thing I saw when started the engine btw the threshold at which the warning comes up is 30PSI. But wait, how can this be... they did the "preparation" right? RIGHT?? (Months later it turned out to be a nail on the inside side of the tire causing very slow leak at rate of 2-3PSI per week). The very next day I noticed a strange squealing noise coming from the engine compartment while idling for few minutes easy thing to pick up if you are really doing a checkup, sure enough a week later water pump broke, had to call the towing service. Remember the "preparation" right? Let's keep going... few months later camshaft and lifters were replaced but the job was done so poorly that within few days after the service radiator hose started rubbing against one of the pulleys which created a leak because they forgot to properly tighten up the radiator mounts and it was leaning towards the engine. Took it in again, they fixed the issue - however what did the invoice say the issue was: Faulty water pump (what? again?!?) no mention of loose radiator. The pump was already replaced once few months back besides I clearly saw that radiator was loose from the previous job. Seemed to me as if someone was trying to cover their ass and mistake they made and came up with this BS problem/solution. Here is the kicker: when replacing the water pump they need to drain and replace the oil and reset the computer (assuming they really did replace the water pump). Let's keep going... few months later, it's time for another oil change. For that I stopped by a different Chrysler dealership closer to my house. They informed me that oil drain plug is stripped and they cannot get it off. 2 hours later they finally managed to take it off, then came another piece of not so good news, apparently the oil has not been changed for a long time. Which makes no sense (or does it?) given the fact Security Dodge supposedly replaced the water pump just few months back, which I am now sure was a lie. As I said in the beginning I have been around a while and have dealt with other dealerships in the past but never experienced such a rampant lack of professionalism. I will definitely avoid this place in the future and recommend everyone who is thinking about buying a pre-owned vehicle to do the same. Avoid like a smelly turd on a sidewalk. read more

Very horrible experience. They did not honor their initial offer which appeared like a great deal. When I informed the salesman about the offer sent online by another salesman in the same dealer I was speaking on the phone and email, and who happened to not be there, the salesman attitude change to one of disbelief and disgust. Every single staff member I interacted there was rude, careless, and in a hurry. The finance options provided were exorbitant. I got a much better deal somewhere else and after I let them know I was not going to close a deal with them, they entered in a dynamic of trying to convince me that I was going to be robbed in another dealer. They took things to higher levels (manager and owner), and they denied my bargaining. They tried to convince me that I was headed to a cave of crooks, when actually they are the crooks. Avoid going to this dealer at all cost, there are plenty other dealers around the area with better reviews and without the rude and condescending environment I experienced here. I know this because I visited other 6 Dodge dealers and got the best deal out of the 6, but only here I found this incredibly rude and condescending staff. read more

This was my worst car buying/leasing experience ever. I leased a 2015 Jeep Renegade two months ago, and it has been in to be serviced 6 times. Lets start from the top, they let the car off the lot to me with each tire 10lbs low in the SNOW. The promptly reinflated the tries the next day. Then there was a problem with the radio, I brought it in they said they fixed it a few hours later, I promptly drove off to discover they didn't fix the issue, when I returned to the dealership I was told I needed to leave the car for the day, I agreed and told them I needed a loaner car, I was given a message from the "Owner" that they had no cars and if I wanted one I could come back monday. I brought the car back monday they had it all day and called to say they fixed the issue, low and behold they did not. I was then told that I needed a new radio and that chrysler would send one in a couple of weeks, and as a show of good faith they would install a remote start on the house. So they installed the remote start and two weeks rolled by and....nothing. So I called the dealership and was told that Chrysler was sending a refurbished radio but didn't have one, so they HAD to send me a new one. So two days later the radio comes in and they install it....and that's all they did, they installed it and told me it was ready, they never checked to see if all the radio functions worked at all. So I brought it back again and they "fixed" it again. NOPE they forgot to match up all the software and programs...that took them an entire day with. All the while I had to use loaner cars that I had to put gas, so I kept their cars running while mine was neglected repeatedly. I actually called Chrysler and they said the dealership is offering me a fee oil change...really?? I have since picked up my car and so far its been one day with no problems. You would think that with all the issues I've had with the car, someone would have at least come out and spoke to me. The customer service here is ABYSMAL. read more

I don't know where to start. I have never been jerked around so hard in my life, and I spent four years as an active duty Marine. I first took the car there for a problem with my 2005 Dodge Ram 2500. The wait to start light came on when I was driving and dings nine times. I also had a power steering leak and had great confidence in spending extra money at the dealer to get it fixed. I have never experienced such terrible communication in a service department. I tried calling so many times, and after being put on hold for a solid 15 minutes, I was told that id have to be called back, which is fine, if I ever got the call back. I had to go there and see if my truck was ready. Driving it home it started to ding, I thought to myself "let me see if they even fixed the power steering"....NOPE! They changed ONE hose and thought that was going to fix the leak from the gear box...RIIIIGHT. After bringing it back I had to fight for a rental car, which was absolutely DISGUSTING. I mean, the "NO PETS" sign was so hard to read because of the amount of dog hair on it...what a miserable place. So, my truck is there for the second time...TEN DAYS go by and no contact, no update, nothing. I have to call again and get the 15 minute hold, just to be told to leave a number and ill have a call back...NOT. I finally go there to see the status of the truck these people didn't touch it again, probably didn't look at it. How can you take my money, knowing you didn't do ANYTHING! These people have absolutely no pride in their work, and don't care about your vehicle unless you're buying it from them. They have terrible communication skills and I honestly don't know how they get anything done. Security Dodge, you are the absolute WORST dealership I have ever came across. I'm in the middle of getting my money back now, and hopefully they actually give it to me. Next stop better business bureau! read more

Getting scammed on Veterans day is the worst! Went in at 8:45 am to get an oil change and engine flush and was told it would be 1 1/2 hours..I had plans to visit my uncle and dad who served in the miltary when to my Surprise it took 5 hours!!! Been there twice to like look at 2 different preowned trucks that are for sale on their website. Both times they couldn't even get them to start. Told me I could come back for a test drive. The last one had a pool of water under the back seats because the window was leaking. They say they weren't run through the shop yet. Then why are they posted and ready for sale? Would a leak have even been fixed if I didn't happen to lift the back seat before buying the car? I would never buy a car here. They advertised a car (accidentally, bullshit) for a great price, we drive 45 minutes to get there and the car is not there. They claimed they would never sell that car for that price and proceeded to tell us the engine was blown and were getting it fixed and selling it wholesale ( whatever that means). Then they offered to sell us one for 2 to 3 times the price of what was advertised. They are lying sacks of shit!!! They apparently list a lot of cars accidentally, and I would advise anyone from purchasing a car at this dealership. I'm reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs!!!!
