On our first morning, we arrived at the restaurant around 10:45 a.m. and were told breakfast service was ending. Our only options were to wait for lunch or try room service, which wasn't guaranteed. This was especially frustrating given how far our room was from the dining area. We asked the front desk if we could place a room service order without returning to our room. Although the concierge tried to help, no one followed up for about 15 minutes. While our server was kind, the manager, Ryan, made no effort to resolve the situation or take accountability. Despite the dining area being nearly empty, we were told we could not be seated and had to take our breakfast to go. Hoping for better service the next day, we ordered room service again and were told the wait would be one hour. Our food arrived an hour and twenty minutes later. We were also told the Duck Pond pool was open 24 hours, but when we arrived it was dark, unattended, covered in dirty towels, and had no clean towels available, giving the impression it was closed. While the setting is stunning, the disorganization and lack of service significantly impacted our stay.

Jerome apparently doesn't open up until after 10 am and pretty much shuts down by 5 pm. I think if you want to stay in Jerome and you would like an historic cottage, this is a nice place. In February we didn't see any bugs, so that wasn't a problem for us. If you arrive late, stop at grocery store on your way in - I think the Cottonwood Safeway is the closest as there are no grocers in Jerome and the restaurants may be closed.

The cottage was built around 1886 and has been restored beautifully !! I have included pictures for you to see of the bottom floor that we rented. There are 2 rooms to rent ( the top & the bottom). Our room consisted of a desk, sitting area, fireplace, handmade rock wall in the bathroom with old fashioned tub, queen size bed, outdoor shower, hot tub (shared with top unit), small fridge, coffee maker, TV (no cable). They do not have wifi , but the owner suggested contacting a neighboring bed and breakfast and asking to use their code and they were more than happy to give it to us. The Good: The place is decorated perfectly for the era and many of the features are hand made and the room has antiques and collectibles throughout. The hot tub was right outside our door and had a beautiful view of the main road and parts of the verde valley. Loved the bathroom and the handmade rocking chairs in front of the fireplace. The owner was very nice ( only conducted business on the phone, she was not at the property). She let us check in at 11am and check out at 12pm for no extra charge. The room cost $150 per night for the bottom unit. The Bad: There were no wash cloths??? Plenty of towels, but no wash cloths. The outside shower was not usable....there were tons and tons of spider webs, bugs of all shapes and sizes, and the shower was in a small space, so there was no escaping the bugs...I did not want to use it, and the husband was not having any part in it either. Also no breakfast was included, so the price was a little higher than most in the area that do include breakfast. I think this was in part to the owner normally renting for at least a week. And I can not forget about the bug infestation...I was horrifed all day and had trouble sleeping. In our room ( that I know of) we experienced 2 flying roaches, 4 grounded roaches, a huge centipede, flying ants, beetles, and about 10 different spider species. I was killing spiders all night...it was horrible. I may try the place again, but maybe the upstairs because it does include a full kitchen. It was a comfortable stay with what we needed. Located in Sedona along a main road where many businesses are located, it was a good and comfortable stay for the night while we were in town for hiking. The exterior of the lodging looks like an old motel, so yeah, there's no curb appeal. But once inside the room, it's completely different. They did a great job at updating this hotel. We had a queen size bed with a deck that looked out to the mountains on the upper level. When we were here, there was hardly anyone else at the Inn, so parking was easy as it's first come first serve. Bed was comfortable, with plenty of space. The bathroom was nicely updated, with toiletries, a vanity light for the mirror, blow dryer, etc. There was also a mini fridge and coffee maker in the room. For how affordable White House Inn, it's definitely a stay to check out when in Sedona. The location was central to many of the hiking trails we visited, as well as restaurants and shops. Glad we found White House Inn for our Sedona stay.

My cottage was the Sycamore and it was great: Spacious, with plenty of amenities. Lighting is dark but what the heck. This aint the ritz, four Seasons or whatever fancy pants place...but it is very charming. Ownership is really great...yes that have a pretty staunch point of view and that is the way it is...price for Shangri-La. Nice and simple breakfast. Great coffee and cookies at night. The lobby is a great place to chill and catch up on your web stuff if need be. Lush paradise in the dessert.

We stayed in Renew (first home going up hill) first week of November. It was cooler weather but…read morenot terribly cold until our last night, when it snowed. The photos are very accurate-tiny. These are not a place to hangout at but rather a place to sleep and maybe relax, weather pending. if you are at all claustrophobic, this could not be a place for you. The first night, I was in my head laying in bed wondering if I will be able to sleep and or stay for our reservation time. I finally fell asleep and I was fine for the remainder of our trip, it was just that first night. Steps are steep and takes a few times to figure out best way to get up and down. The steps are not in middle of peak of roof so you need to maneuver over to get to bed. You could scrape or shin or knee but we had no issues. I find Renew to be most private of the 4 options w/o residential neighbor near and hot tub off to side, not on deck. I don't know if there were any pots or anything to cook with, we ate out but did use the coffee press. Without a heater, we slept warmly upstairs, except for night it snowed, as I had window open. I wonder how well AC works in summer time when sleeping so close to roof. If you are not organized with your belongings, you will be frustrated with lack of space and your clothes. We had not issues but I could see where someone might. Renew pros -storage in the steps up to bed -mini split (was not working when we were there but did not need-never reported it) -spa more private than the other units -outdoor chairs & fire unit -coffee -blue tooth speaker (cord provided was not correct charging cord-but ours worked) -most private location as no one to one side and one unit on other-away from residents -Darin communicative cons -not enough hooks and only one that is above waist level -no curtains on front window -had 3 towels and not 4 (need one for shower & one for hot tub)

I guess it is more of a motel but with rooms that might be better classified as cabins. This property is about a 10 minute drive from downtown Sedona. The Oak Creek literally runs by the property and is a short walk down from the cabins. There are a ton of chairs and even a fantastic hammock near the creek for hanging out. The noise of the creek is incredibly soothing. I took a beautiful afternoon nap next to it. For the more adventurous of you, if you cross a few small rocks, you can get right next to the creek itself. The rocks aren't too treacherous, I promise. There are a few chairs set up next to the creek if you make it that far. Apparently, the hotel will even lend you a fishing pole, if that is your thing. It is not the thing for me. And don't even think about fishing for the gorgeous koi in the koi pond on-site. Every room has a fridge and a microwave. I think every room has a jacuzzi tub. Some of the rooms come with outdoor patios with chairs and a TV. Others do not. Some of the larger rooms even have a little kitchenette area. As far as I can tell, every room also comes with an outdoor BBQ. For reasons that are not all that interesting, I got to experience one of the larger rooms/cabins and it had plenty of space. I also got to check out two of the smaller cabins. One was small but fine, although the sink and shower were tiny. The other room was REALLY small, although the bathroom and shower were larger. So maybe ask about the details of the room you are booking before you make your reservation. They clearly vary in size. I found the prices very, very reasonable compared to what you might get in downtown Sedona and certainly compared to the high end resorts in town. I don't normally hang out at hotels/motels for purposes other than sleeping but the presence of the beautiful running creek made me stay on site much longer than I expected. This place absolutely will not satisfy the folks who stay at the top end resorts but if you don't mind some rough edges, want a little peace and quiet near a creek, if you want a darn good nightly rate, and if you got shut out of every other place in town like I did, you might consider this property.

As we're cruising down the main street we passed The Inn Above Oak Creek and noticed they had a lit-up vacancy sign. We immediately went in and met with the inn keeper who offered to let us go see the room before we committed to booking. This is THE cutest little 13 room inn set right on Oak Creek. There is seating down by the creek, on the patio off the main room, and inside the main room itself that all have great views. Our room was very spacious with a 2-person sized bathtub and a fireplace! It had truly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in away from home. My husband was obsessed and wanting to know how we could copy it to have at home. Both of the inn managers were so kind and took such good care of us. You could feel how much they care for the inn and value their guests. There's always coffee and water set out. They have homemade cookies in the afternoon and homemade muffins in the morning. They have a bookshelf with various options for reading and a large selection of movies. On the coffee table, they have binders full of recommendations for trails and exploring the area. It was such a cute and intimate place to stay. I'd recommend it to anyone traveling to Sedona and I'd love to stay here again! We truly couldn't have found a better place to stay for Valentine's Day. We felt so lucky to have gotten a room here.
