As I was passing by this See's Candies store, I noticed that they had Easter themed chocolates out in the displays already. I've always loved getting the Christmas themed Chocolate Balls and Milk Chocolate Eggs from See's Candies so I couldn't pass on this chance now. This store is located on the 2nd level of the Shops at Santa Anita mall by Forever 21 near the center court. The staffs were welcoming and greeting us as we enter the store. I knew what I wanted so I grabbed a few chocolates and started to line up to pay. While waiting to pay, the staff asked if I wanted to sample some chocolates and I chose the Milk Bordeaux, which tasted so good! I have to remind myself to get this on my next visit.

Located on the second floor next to Forever 21 in the Shops at Santa Anita. See's Candies is the easiest and best gift to give to family and friends for special occasions. I like to go there to get some good candy and free samples. ;) Employees are very nice as well and the store is clean.

C'mon, Gladys... you know how it works. They've been serving up the same delicious chocolates for like a hundred years. As an educator, I do get my fair share of See's candy and gift certificates. Last year when we moved to a new home, our "moving cleaning" revealed a couple of gift certificates for one-pound boxes that had slipped down behind our dresser. These things were at LEAST 8 years old. On a prayer, we took them over to See's in the mall, to (wait for it) SEE if they would honor them. And they did. Because they're awesome. So just go in, find a salesperson, and say, "Picante sent me to get a whole box of Scotchmallows." Then pay them. You'll be glad you did.

RUN DONT WALK! See's Candies has an amazing post Valentine's day sale. Valentine's day chocolates at half off!! $17/lb of chocolate?? I literally heard a lady see the sign and scream "Oh my god no freaking way" and left with four boxes saying get me out of here but I will be back. I have never come to Sees before but so worth it for these sale chocolates and don't worry I've tasted them and so delicious. I got chocolate truffles for $4, dark chocolate heart box for $17 and a mini assorted box for $9. For quality chocolate?? Unheard of

How many times have you walked into a See's Candies hoping that they'd give you a free sample of something that you'd like? I always hoped that they'd give me a dark chocolate sample. For the very FIRST time, I was asked what I would like to sample. I asked for a sample of something that I have never tried. I have been going to this See's location for numerous years. This is the first time that I am writing a review for this location. Why? I had an AWESOME customer service experience with Stephen V.! He was very friendly with a couple that came into See's just for a free sample. While the couple was waiting for their free sample, they asked about the cute single and double candy boxes. He informed them that they are usually given as a party or wedding favor. It was nice that he took his time to converse with the couple, despite them only wanting a free sample. I could not go into See's just for a free sample. I would not be able to resist the temptation of buying my favorite candies. I'm not about to write a list of my favorites. The list would be far too long. It all depends upon my mood. I have my moods of dark chocolate, fudge, brittle, hard candy, nuts, truffles, molasses chips, scotch kisses, and lollipops. On a previous visit at a different See's Candies, I was given a free sample of the Bridge Mix. It was not the same as the See's Candies Bridge Mix I grew up with. Now it has mini molasses chips, almonds, pecans, brittle, dark chocolate coconut like a Mounds bar but better in their Bridge Mix. I came in wanting to purchase a half a pound of the bridge mix. Due to Stephen V.'s patience, I ended up purchasing more than a pound of delicious chocolate. Kudos to Stephen V. for his personable and positive attitude.

COVID-19: Social distancing is enforced at this establishment. All of the staff wears a mask. All customers are expected to wear a mask too. All of the staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is open to customers at limited capacity. They are also sanitizing in between customers. While I was checking out some of their chocolates in this establishment today, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment. Parking: This See's Candy store is located inside the Westfield Santa Anita mall. There are plenty of parking available during the pandemic. Prepandemic parking was hell. They need to make some underground parking garages or above ground parking garages to accommodate all of the people trying to shop at this mall. It sucked having to circle the lot for like 20 minutes just for a parking spot. Store: The store here is pretty big, clean, neat, and tidy. Everything is organized in a way that makes sense. The are giving samples away to customers still. Woo hoo! Staff: The staff here are very nice and helpful. Quick and easy check out. They take both cash and credit.

I've tried many of the variety of chocolate concoctions they have on hand. After taste testing them I always lean over to my favorite which are the nuts and chews. I've noticed since the pandemic started that the prices have really gone up for these delicacies, nothing is cheap anymore.

First off I want to start by saying that this Sees candy hands down is my favorite one. I may not come often; mainly when my mom comes to visit but when I do, I always have a great experience. Today I had the pleasure of dealing with Jenny. She was absolutely amazing. She was super friendly and some how knew exactly what I wanted. I went to Sees to get a box of nuts and chews for a birthday gift. They were all pre wrapped in Easter packaging. This beauty took the wrapping paper off and replaced it with plaid wrapping that said Happy Birthday. Awesome job Sees hiring this young lady!

My sister and I seen on the Facebook about Free lollipop day on Saturday in July. So we headed to Santa Anita mall to Sees candy and the cashier gave us butterscotch flavor. Too bad it wasn't root beer or chocolate. I digress and bought individual chocolates since we were at the counter. I tried limited edition on chocolate paws and it was delicious. I didn't want to go too crazy. I love sees candy! Service is great, locally made in LA and they make the best chocolate.

What I've tried: -Plain croissant: Some of the best lamination I've ever seen. Large and ultra flakey. Great even 2 days after purchase. Buttery deliciousness. -Pain Au Chocolat: Done very well. Still very flakey and chocalate-y. Melts beautifully when toasted. -Kouign-Amann: Great execution. Crispy but not soggy or too tough from the sugar brulee exterior. Nice hit of finishing salt. Interior was still plush. Delicious. -Almond Croissant: Good but not as stellar as the other pastries. I did enjoy the crunch of the almond slivers and appreciated that the toppings didn't weigh down the pastry dough itself. -Chocolate Chip Cookie: Very good brown butter notes but I wouldn't mind the cookie to be a teeeny bit thicker. -Ricotta Pesto: Delicious. Pesto was pronounced and filling was creamy. Heated up very well and pastry dough maintained all the flakey layers despite the filling in the center. The shop and parking: Parking immediately outside of the shop is paid meter. Free parking is available if you walk about a block or two down behind the shop along the apartment units. It's a short 2-5 minute walk so I'd highly recommend doing that if you can. Just make note of the no parking signs in case there is street sweeping or any restrictions but I've done this several times now with no issues. The shop is relatively small but has a good amount of seating with maybe two tables outside. I've been at different times and only once has there been a line that has gone out the door. Still, it was a short wait (about 12-15 mins). The shop also sells merch like t-shirts and adorable mini tote bags. They also have unique chocolates from different countries of origin for sale. Prices of pastries are on the higher end but they are very high quality given the sourced ingredients and 3 day process. You can actually see them folding and extruding the croissant dough behind the glass if you come at the right time! They have seasonal offerings and an option to pre-order online as well. Overall: Amazing quality. Everything you would want and expect from laminated pastries. Will continue coming back!

We then proceed to walk directly to the spot where she was and stood in front of her, thinking that it'll get her attention. Nope. Her eyes were glued to the phone despite being inches from her. We decided to walk away since it seems like she did not want our business. Passed the stall a few times while in the mall and seems like she had no problems helping other customers. I decided on ordering an Oaxacan tostada which came completely smothered in black beans, cabbage, queso fresco, and salsa verde. It was refreshing and made for a quick, light snack while also being deceptively filling. While waiting for the order, I noticed their NY Cookies which came in two kinds. One was simply the regular chocolate chip variety, while the other came packed with white chocolate chips, ate de membrillo (quince cheese), and tejocote (hawthorn fruit paste). I decided on the second one and enjoyed the unique flavors of the bits and pieces, even though it was very sweet. All in all, would definitely come back to dine and chill out.
