I went in the day before Christmas to pick up some gluten free muffins for my girlfriend, but they were out. I picked up some other gf desserts but the muffins are what she likes the most. I asked if they were going to be open the day after Christmas and I would come back. Turns out the owner is planning to take a very well deserved week off, so no luck. But then she aske me for my number and told me that while she makes no promises, she will call me if she happens to make some. Within two hours I got a phone call. Six GF muffins with my name on it! I ran out and we were able to enjoy them while they were still warm. Sooooo good. Not only are the baked goods fantastic, but service like that? Deserves as many stars as are in the sky. Will have to settle for five here, though. ps. The lemon cheesecake (not gf) is phenominal.

We picked one up, a white cake with raspberry filling and then a miniature chocolate cake along with a couple of carrot cake cupcakes for the birthday. I must say that I don't think I've had a better bear claw pastry and my husband had the sticky bun pastry and both were heavenly. When celebrating the birthdays, everyone thought the cakes were terrific and I must say that the white cake was heavenly as well. We always try to shop local and so glad that we found this place open on our trip. Highly recommend and we will be back!

And most of the time you cannot blame the waitress for the food quality. I ordered the prime rib dinner and the prime rib was cold when delivered I ordered a medium well and it was well done and it was cold. The dinner rolls came out ahead of time and I was told that the way that they came very doughy was typical and I should've ordered the cornbread so next time if we happen to go with Family, I will order the cornbread. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were from a box. The gravy was good, but asked for extra gravy because the potatoes are very dry. The green beans tasted like they were from a can like. I said it was not the best the waitress again Tilly made it extremely nice. She kept my drink full my wife's drink full. My wife ordered the Asian chicken salad and she said that it was outstanding. The ambience is a typical pie restaurant type place to sit and eat. I gave it a four because of the waitress and her taking care of us all so well she put up with the other people that were there with us and they were a handful for her.

We all tried different combinations and they were all wonderful. Onto the food, we were blown away! Couldn't believe that finding this place last minute gave us such an incredible experience. The food was top notch and delicious. The Mac and cheese was soooo creamy and flavorful. The steak was cooked perfect and they have several dipping sauces to choose from. The salmon was a hit and the risotto went really well with it. I wouldn't be surprised if this place had a Michelin star, it was THAT GOOD. First off, let's start by saying we weren't even greeted when we walked in & were only acknowledged once we went to place our order. After looking over the menu we proceeded to order & the Asian lady at the register (the wife of the owner Joe) was super rude & didn't even smile. She then looked at me like I was stupid when I ordered the Nutella only crepe, when I was very specific by the way, I understand if you're trying to make sure I'm making the proper choice due to past incidents with other customers "as you claim"But I really don't know how you get that confused when I had to repeat myself multiple times? How are you going to list something on your menu then look at me funny when I order it like you don't know what I'm talking about?? Language barrier or not, her service was very rude & unprofessional & the owner JOE is very dismissive about complaints, but quick to comment on nice reviews... Taking no accountability & not doing anything to fix the problem & being quick to judge someone or call us racist is my main issue here because we deserve more genuine people in Hemet not power tripping owners like JOE. Also this would've all been fine had the food at least been good but it wasn't, the quality of their "so called crepes" was TERRIBLE, WORST I've ever tasted, super UNDERCOOKED... even got sick from it afterwards. Had to go ahead & edit since it doesn't let you respond to this business replies. Highly recommend taking your money to a better Crepes location. It's been a favorite of locals in the valley for many years now. This is my first time back in YEARS and the cookies are STILL top-tier. There's something about having a Mexican chocolate chip cookie in the cold that just feels so right. I visited with a group and was met by a friendly, yet astonished lady who seemed to have never seen so many people in her shop before. My main targets (chocolate chip, sprinkle cookies) were available, however I noticed some of the pastry racks were missing quite a few items. My group was looking for conchas, however only one selection was available. We had to wait a bit for the staff to make some more. The conchas taste good, but I've tasted better in years past. Don't get me wrong, I'm always looking for a chocolate concha fix, it just wasn't warm enough. I wanted a hot drink with it but unfortunately I don't think they sell Mexican hot cocoa here. I spotted a small fridge with refreshments like Jarrito's and other popular Mexican cold drinks. The store is older, but well-maintained. I think it needs an update aesthetically, but overall it was very clean. As for seating, I couldn't find tables inside nor outside (except one, without chairs). La Reina is very much a grab-n-go bakery.

The downside was the squid -- it was so chewy it felt like I was working through shoe leather. The shrimp were a nice size, but there were only three in the entire bowl. The crab stick was surprisingly tender after soaking in the broth, and the scallops were the tiny dime-sized bay scallops you kind of expect at this price point. I also ordered the crispy shrimp, but they honestly weren't crispy at all. More like steamed shrimp wrapped in a little tempura sleeping bag. I asked for no spice, but the broth still came out fairly spicy. When I mentioned it, the server kindly explained that was their normal level of spice. Overall, it was okay. Not terrible, not amazing. I'm not sure I'd personally come back, but everyone was friendly and I genuinely wish them the best.
