I love coming to See's! They give samples and that's always a huge bonus - what a great marketing touch, really nice. Workers are always pleasant and attentive. I'm not sure how many years See's has been In business for but this location has been here 30+ years!! I remember visiting this location as a child! I love See's Candies !!! The coworkers make you feel like you are always welcome and part of the team as well! They are very helpful and gives samples too! Sees candies always has my heart because when I was younger I would come in after school to buy the Milk Bordeaux! They have always treated me nicely and are very considerate as well. I love how they follow COVID-19 procedures and are very generous with their samples. I don't understand why others are mad and give a low rating for something that shouldn't have been even on a review. (Ridiculous) It is not the workers fault for how the candies are made and they are trying their best especially during these crazy and challenging times. Some people should have empathy and sympathy. I love Sees candies! I love chocolate. Chocolate brings me joy. I love that when you walk thru the door you are hit with a wave of delicious chocolate aroma and then greeted with a free sample. I love that when I make a custom box with Laurel O. She seems to find as much joy in my selections as I do and makes packing the boxes so much fun (as chocolate should be). I love the memory of Sees lollipops that my Grandma always seemed to have on hand for us and that when I get one now, it sends me back in time. I would have given a 5-star review but the Asian male manager is so quick to rush me and doesn't find joy in the chocolate.....in a chocolate shop you need to have that joy for chocolate. He kinda made me sad and distracted from the chocolate joy that Laurel O. was bringing to my day. read more

This place is a great once a month visit for me. As you walk into the store you are greeted with a pleasant smile and the workers quickly ask if you would like to taste a piece of candy... I love that idea! Rest assured that if they offer you a peanut candy that you don't want let them know and they will be more than happy to offer you a different type of candy. Although there are a number of selections to choose from the workers are more than willing to assist. Kudos to them because they are patient and they're always smiling. For me I like the stuff without peanuts. So my choice of indulgent is the milk chocolate BUTTER CHEW. I love the smooth texture of the carmel inside the chocolate coating. MMMMMM Not too sweet and not lumpy. My kind of sinful sweet and beware of its addicting flavors. It's like chips, you can't just try one! Usually I always give a good review because my family and I love See's. So this review has nothing to do with the quality of the candy, it was the customer service that we received yesterday. We have spent at least hundreds of dollars at See's before the Covid crap. My family and I would come here at least once a month. We were so happy to see them open yesterday at Kahala Mall, while we had shopped at Longs. They have been closed for such a along time. So we waited outside because their sign says only 2 people allowed at a time. We waited for all customers to leave and as we started to walk inside, we were stopped by a young girl working there telling us only 2 people allowed in the store. Well there was my husband, myself and my eight year old daughter. I like to pick what chocolates I want to eat, and my husband has his favorites he likes to get, so I was not leaving my 8 year old outside. I told her we were from the same family and she was only eight years old. Nope, sorry can't come in. My husband and I look at each other and leave. This has especially soured our experience here, I get the rules, but my daughter is a kid wearing her mask just like us, and she wasn't going to run around the store. We are certainly not going back anytime soon, what a shame. Management take note of this review as you have lost another sale and possibly a long time customer. We felt there could have been an exception since no one was waiting behind us and we were the only ones going in your store. Too bad! read more

Valentine's Day 2012 is in the air, so I was here giving myself a gift of chocolate. With no significant other to speak of, I decided to deluge myself with a calorie burn that couldn't be matched. So, I came here and proceeded to just see what See's Candies has to offer, but for a reasonable price. I didn't want to take down a whole section of Longs Drugs candy aisle, so it was prudent of me to check out somewhere new and file a review for it. Win win! The service here was great, although it was pretty crowded. The store itself is really small, like a small container thing just outside of Longs Drugs, buit they had what I would need to have a nice Valentine's Day night. I am a certified chocolate lover. I was sad when Godiva closed up and had to fend my way to th Ala Moana store. I didn't want to do that, so See's Candies was the closest one to me that I would want to go to. The pricing is good for the amount of candy you are buying. They have great staff, and they are more than willing to give you a sample if you wanted to try. Their products are delicious each time I try. I am impressed at how much chocolate they carry, when their store is only so much. I guess they have the excess stored somewhere in the mall or something. With that said, this place has me sold and will come back to fill my candy needs - especially when Godiva is unreachable. I came to this location for one reason, butterscotch lollipops. They are so delicious! Having been to see's in many locations, both in and out of Hawaii, I knew what atmosphere I could expect. But this time the friendly staff impressed me so much that I was very compelled to leave a review! Entering the store, my bf and I were greeted with freindly smiles from the staff and the aroma of chocolaty confections in the air. Top that off with a free sample...awesome! The simple but efficient layout of the store allowed me to find exactly what I was looking for in no time, but what really impressed me was the great customer service we received from Joseph and Andrew (so great that we asked for their names). Stopped in to redeem a gift certificate for 1 lb box of See's candy. When I walked in there's a line of about five people purchasing candies. It's the first time I've seen a line form here. It's generally not that busy, but that day it was bustling. I like that they have little name tags next to every single candy in their display case. Makes ordering that much easy. I decided to make it even easier and just get the standard 1lb box of Nut and Chews. If you do decide to check this place out you should try the See's Awesome chocolate bars. They have three types of Awesome Bars available at $1.45+tax each. Choose from Nut & Chew Bar, Walnut Square Bar or the Peanut Brittle Bar. Just scrumptious. I love the Awesome Nut and Chew bar. It reminds me of Annabelle's Look! chocolate candy but softer and chewier. The Walnut Square Bar is awesomely good too. Kinda like a chocolate turtle but with walnuts instead of pecans. Scary because I ate the entire Walnut Square at one time instead of taking a nibble here and there. It's that good. Even with the store bustling they still managed to hand out free chocolates. While this store may not carry my favorite chocolate, it is one my favorite places to buy chocolates. The service here is terrific. The workers greeted each customer as they walked in. Pretty impressive considering how busy it was on the day I went. One of the staff was even walking around giving out samples. She was also kind enough to fulfill people's request for specific chocolates as the free sample (come on people it's free don't be picky). My favorites here are: dark chocolate caramels, scotchmallow, and almond royal, and the lollipops and ... I eat too much candy. Anyway, See's has a good variety of chocolates at very reasonable prices (unlike that other chocolate store G----a) and this particular store has great customer service. read more

I hardly come here. Only once in a great blue moon when I have that chocolate craving. There was this one chocolate that I bought before and it was my favorite. Sadly, I don't know what's it called... Anyways I came here a few days ago on a splur moment. Which meant I didn't bring my wallet with me as I was just going to the restroom (I work in Kahala) before I even bought anything I asked them if they took Apple Pay because that is the only form of payment I had on me. One of the workers told me they do. So I said ok! That's great. So I was strolling around looking at the chocolates I asked another worker if I could try one of their chocolate. I mean they give it out to sample anyways. He gave me the vibe like "she's only here to try it out and not buy." After a few minutes of looking and trying to remember which one I bought before. I gave up and picked out a few. When it came to paying their machine didn't take my Apple Pay. So I told him "it's fine, I'll walk back to my job and get my wallet. I'll be right back." So he told me "it's fine and that it's on them." Walks away** I appreciate it, but seriously it felt like he was saying "she doesn't have money. And she's trying to buy stuff...psh." I have never been treated this way. I don't know if I want to come back if he's there. I really like the older person. He's nicer and had always helped me with a smile. read more

When she rang us up she gave us a discount since she had extra coupons. Nowadays, good customer service isn't a common practice and when retail associates such as Kelly go the extra mile, customers like us will definitely return to this store location. read more

As I sit in my apartment thinking about what to write about I am inspired by a white box of See's Candies that sits upon my table. I was given a See's gift certificate by my landlord for Christmas and recently redeemed it. I thought that I was going to get a pre-packaged box of candy but was able to pick and choose which candies I wanted for my 1 pound box of deliciousness. Oh yes, this was going to get dangerous. The guy helping to pack my box at the counter was really helpful and didn't rush me at all. Intermittently as I carefully chose my candies, he'd hand me a new candy to sample. This pleased my tummy which told my heart and head to pick chocolate covered honey comb, rocky road, thin mints, pralines and a wonderful assortment of treats. As you can imagine, it will take me awhile to go through a box of chocolates but I look forward to eating them each day and am always excited! I always though that See's Candies was just for old ladies like my Grandma who have to wear special headphones when they watch TV because their hearing aides are broken. I know it is just 10 extra steps outside of the main mall area- but it 10 steps so worth it to get back into coooool cool air conditioning on a hot hot day and bite down into a delicious bite of a favorite chocolate that just melts in ones mouth- hit the pleasure endorphin button one more time please! Love those classy ladies in white and now my niece is one of them. I was so proud yesterday dropping her off at work, she's 17 and she'll be off to college next year. I learned that you can go to See's and ask to sample any chocolate confection and they have to let you try it. I thought they only offer samples for items they're trying to push. Not so, my niece tells me she usually only offers one type of sample because that's the one chocolate she learned for the day and knows every ingredient. She hasn't learned all of them yet. Well I love See's Candy, I think the prices and selection are good. Compared to Godiva which is expensive to say the least. The almond royals are my favorite, give them a try. Wow, just when I needed some comfort food, got dissed instead. Haven't been to a See's store in three or four years. My trainer would freak if she knew I stopped by today. But I really needed a sweet treat after a tough day/week/month. While I really only wanted a few buttercreams, when I first walked in, I turned left to check out the "Hawai'i" Collection I saw in the window. One of the clerks followed me to hand me a threefer of Dark Chocolate Molasses Chips. Almost declined, because I really wanted buttercreams, but then accepted. So the clerk hung around, I guess to be sure I didn't shoplift a box or two. The Hawai'i collection wasn't worth it, so I went to the counter to get some buttecreams. I'm waiting there at the counter, and a second clerk comes out, walks right past me to ask the woman, who just came in the shop WITH HER DOG UNDER HER ARM, if she needed help. That was it. I was followed like a thief and then ignored. I had three free pieces of chocolate. That's all I needed. Buh bye! read more

It's as though you're Princess Jasmine and Aladdin is serenading you. I can show you the world. Shining, shimmering, splendid. Tell me, princess, now when did you last let your heart decide which piece of chocolate to eat? I can open your eyes. Take you wonder by wonderfully delicious pieces of chocolately goodness. Personally, the one thing that keeps me coming back again and again is their Marzipan. Honey almond paste covered in chocolate. Yum! Whenever I'm feeling stressed or down, I stop by for one or two of these as a pick me up. They're my fave. But today, Aladdin offered me a Cashew Brittle and yes, it was a whole new world... Shining, shimmering, splendid world of white chocolate! While I'm not usually a fan of white chocolate, I love toffee and cashews, and this piece of candy was a thoroughly impressive combination. Cashew toffee covered in white chocolate with coconut. Wow. It was so good together! I don't know about you, but I ALWAYS get suckered into buying chocolate because they give you a sample chocolate when you walk into the door. It's ok though because I love chocolate... but they don't have praline (like Godiva) and I have a hard time picking out which one to buy. So I said, "Yeah, sure, I'll have a lollipop"--thinking they were giving a free lollipop to all their customers because of the holiday season. THEN she told me it's 80 cents and do I want chocolate, butterscotch or vanilla? Now, dude, seriously. 80 cents is nothing. But feeling like you got tricked into buying something? It is not Godiva - but it is an American favorite! I love that See's gives you a free chocolate! I love that they create their space to remind us of the past and how candy parlors actually existed! I love that you can smell the chocolate in the air when you enter and no one ever is curt or cross - they always say hello! Their store here at the Mall is small but very clean and bright. Their displays of boxes and bags of chocolate are always neat and ready for purchase. Dark chocolate anything is my favorite - but the bridge mix is great cause you get a little bit of everything. If you like almonds the the almond squares are wonderful and I always like the nougat and rum raisin (this one comes in milk chocolate - except for once a year when they do a dark chocolate version) If you like bars - the walnut bar or nougat bar are both good and there is always the good ol' fashion lolly pop for the kids! As I walk through those white double doors a bell jingles. The lady behind the counter greets me as she walks up to me bearing gifts of a delicious milk chocolate caramel. I had forgotten that See's gives everyone a free sample as they walk in the door. Now that's what I call excellent customer service! And their lollipops are AWESOME! I have never had a candy from See's I didn't like. While you see many people shamlessly walking in See's for the free sample and immediately walking out, I could never do that! I only come here if I have the intent to purchase. My husband's grandma comes in for the free samples though and we have vowed not to go with her to See's again lol. I must say that this See's has younger employees and therefore, they're more cheery than the normal See's staff. They're really nice and willing to help you! They dealt with our crazy return of these nutty candies once and now I am forever grateful. I always enjoy their lollipops every now and then and I enjoy splurging on other chocolates when it's that time of the month! haha TMI I know. This place has been around longer than I can remember. Through all the years, they have sustained their quality chocolates, delectable samples and great service. To be honest, the only reason I go in is to purchase one of three things- mints for my Grandma, sugar free chocolates for my Uncle, or caramel chocolate for my husband. These are their favs after many years. I must say- I enjoy going into the store knowing that I'm going to get a sample. Yummy goodness! Oh and they gift wrap! Love it! My 86 yr old uncle always knows what we got him as soon as he sees the box/ gift wrapping. I think that's what brings out that big grin! read more

As someone who grew up in the neighborhood, it's so nice to be able to visit See's and know that it will always be quality candies with impeccable service. Today I stopped in and was helped by a woman (so sorry I didn't get her name) who was able to give me a brief history of not only the store, but also a bit about Kahala Mall. See's Candies is a classic. There are so many "fancy" chocolate shops these days which I do enjoy, but there is something nostalgic about walking into See's Candies. Their store is very clean, well kept, bright and cozy. The customer service at this location is EXCELLENT. I find that a lot of young retail employees these days lack customer service which is ok given that it's probably their first work experience and we all had to learn at some point. But I am very impressed with the young workers at this See's! They are polite, courteous and knowledgeable about their product. And they are consistent with this level of service. We come to See's often. For my kids, no trip Kahala mall is complete without getting a free sample from See's! So we often see the same workers and they are consistently all of the wonderful things I've mentioned. As for the chocolates, are they the best chocolates I've ever had? Definitely not, but they are still good and they have a wide variety of different chocolates; nuts, caramels, truffles, nougat, marshmallows, and more. I like that you can choose pre-boxed chocolates in different sizes, or create your own customized box. You can also buy individual chocolates. My kids like to get little servings of bridge mix or molasses chips. Overall, we are fans of this cute little shop, and we will be back again...and again and again! read more

Stopped by today to pick up lollipops for the wife to take into work for her coworkers as a thank you for their well wishes when I was the hospital. Can't go wrong with 2 boxes of assorted lollipops especially when one of those flavors is chocolate. The guy working was very friendly and attentive, welcoming us as soon as we entered the store, following up by offering us samples and asking if we had any questions. He wasn't pushy at all. I wasn't intending to write a review from my short stop in at sees candy today, but after the unbelievable service that we received from Joseph and Andrew I wasn't left with another option. These two gentlemen not only know their product forward and backward, but they also made our store experience blissful. Upon entrance, Andrew greeted my girlfriend and me with two samples and a smile. After I ate my sample I must have looked quite pleased, because Andrew followed up on how the sample I had just enjoyed was actually his favorite. Though See's is a chain, at Kahala Mall it feels like a corner candy shop. It's comfortably small, the location related to the parking lot is great, and it has the most helpful and friendly staff. I had a craving for a box of dark chocolate, but it was after 5 so I didn't know if they would be open. They're open until 9PM on the weekdays! Take note, people going on dates, even in the evening See's is there for the procrastinators/forgetful. The selection was good. Lots of specialty items, a huge variety of single truffles, and it was all organized and clean. This store rocks!! Did I mention the free sample candy upon entering? Every time i go into Sees (about once a year), i regret that I haven't there since a year prior. What a waste, because they provide a quality product, and a pleasant shopping experience. It smells great, and they are generous by always offering a sample. I think the only folks who don't care for See's are those who don't like chocolate or are allergic to it. Not to worry, I'm more than happy to eat their share of chocolate at See's! This is a long-time favorite of mine and in addition to the store at Kahala Mall, I also visit the one at Pearl Ridge. The stores are always clean with a definite smell of chocolate when one walks in the door. Friendly sales clerks help to tempt your tummy by handing out samples just in case you weren't convinced these folks know how to make chocolate! They have a wide variety of candy to offer such as butter toffee bars or marshmallow treats or sugar sticks in a wide variety of prices. See's also has seasonal offerings as well so will sell Easter candy or Halloween candy or Christmas Candy, etc. So their selection does change during the year. They are masters at coating fruits, nuts or creamy fillings with dark chocolate or milk chocolate and those unable to eat sugar, they have sugar free treats as well. The candies are fresh and melt in your mouth, leaving a delicious sensation.
