I have had 3 bad experiences with this store. Mother's Day my kids sent me a gift with card, balloons, and extras sizes... Nothing came the extra, balloons, or card... Now today I order my husband a Father's Day arrangement and it come without the 4 balloons that supposed to come with it. I've never had a problem ordering in other states just here in Nevada. Suffice it to say that "Cookie Bouquets" were an unknown entity before a pharmaceutical representative entered the clinic porting several branded Sugar Cookies on sticks and although none were tried from that batch a decision was made to stop in, the fact that "Cookies by Design" is a nationwide chain also new information though it seems they've been in business for over three decades. Described as "The original Cookie Bouquet Company" with both italics and ® added to the tagline, the fact that there are others not all that shocking in an era of "edible arrangements," the reason many have probably not seen the Las Vegas franchise is it's tucked away location in the back corner of a strip mall on Decatur, the signage not exactly eye catching and the woman running the shop not particularly pleasant, either. Not currently in the market for Food-flowers, though a call made earlier that day confirmed individual Cookies are available, it was around 4:00pm that the store was entered and although only one man who appeared to be some sort of delivery guy was present it immediately felt like 'business' was disrupted - a curt "Can I help you?" answered by a request for "one each" of eight choices from a glass case though it turned out only five were available, the ones on display apparently not actual inventory but examples of what is kept in back. Admittedly offering some cute ideas, the decorated Sugar Cookies embracing pop culture by way of Emojis, Unicorns and Build-a-Bear shapes, it was instead five flavors not that different from what one might find at CREAM or Sweet Addictions were selected at $1.50 each, first bites of Chocolate Chip and subsequently one with Pecans showing consistency from edge to middle that does not change and thus making one question ingredient quality as such a thing is pretty difficult to accomplish with just Butter, Flour, Eggs and Sugar. Expectedly sweet, the fact that every grocery store and national brand of packaged Dessert has decided to eschew nuance in favor of Sugar and shelf-life part of the reason a truly good Cookie is hard to find outside of mom n' pop bakeries or family recipes, those looking for the best of what Cookies by Design has to offer should probably consider one called "Chocolate Decadence," the plethora of Cocoa Powder at least helping to rein things in whereas both Red Velvet and Oatmeal Raisin are probably equally mundane at half the price from Costco or Albertsons. ONE AND A HALF STARS: Perhaps an acceptable option for someone ill in the hospital, a small child or 'corporate gifting' that will invariably end up in the dumpster the only real thing Cookies by Design has going for it is convenience and branding, neither of which should be motivating factors if one really wants to deliver a memorable present. read more

I was in need of cookies to be made for my Sons 1st Birthday . First it took me forever to get ahold of anyone. I finally do get ahold of someone and they told me they could make balloon cookies ( but couldn't use the Disney Pixar up picture because of copyright) which was fine I could understand that. Once we decided a balloon would be fine for the cookies , I tell her how many I needed. Whomever was taking the order said she needed to ask her manager if they could make 60 cookies. She said she would call me back . I waited and waited, called back even left a message .... Then I emailed them on their website, I still didn't hear back from them . Very unprofessional. The cookies taste good. However I ordered a Vegas Golden Knights hockey bouquet of cookies for a hockey / housewarming party and they arrived and they did not look anything like the website picture. I sent an email specifying the cookies did not look very good and received a call back from the person who decorated them. It was awkward to tell her that basically I didn't think her decorating / design was very good. However, she told me she would speak to the owner about giving me a discount in a couple days and I never received anything. No credit to my card and no follow up. I included pics of website vs what I got so you can be the judge if these cookies are worth $80 plus delivery charges. It was $97 total for these gray and black cookies. ***uodate: I saw a credit card refund of 10% ($10) but that's hit enough to encourage MF to try again and risk getting ugly cookies. My husband won a certificate from this location once- and he opted for the cookie basket (not the colorful iced cookies that you think of- cookie bouquets, but the regular ones). I think he got two dozen cookies, from snicker doodle to chocolate chip. This was just for us, it wasn't for anyone else, but the sweet lady (the owner maybe?) made it look really nice, which was appreciated but not necessary- a basket with plastic overwrap and a pretty ribbon to tie it together. The cookies were really delicious BTW. There was noone else in the store, at the time, but by the time she was done with ours, a customer came inside. This is a popular franchise around the country. The store is small but well-equipped with all the extras (bells & whistles) that make baskets really nice looking and presentable/giftable. I would definitely come here if I needed someone to make a basket for a special occasion (I normally make my own baskets since I shop year-round for gifts). Called in here to arrange a cookie delivery. Stephanie or Stephany was very helpful over the phone. I called and placed my order, and basically made sure that it would be delivered the same day. The recipients were ecstatic so I wonder if it looked and tasted good. I ordered the gourmet 2 dozen cookies. It was $36 or so before tax and shipping. After adding the remainder, it came out to about $52. That's a lot of money for 24 cookies, but with the same-day hand-delivery option, it ensures that you won't be delivering broken, chipped, or scattered cookies for an important occasion. Their other cookie baskets with the design all over (I once tried) did not taste too good to me, so I stuck with the gourmet cookies that came with chocolate chip, oatmeal, red velvet, and one more flavor. read more

I have ordered from this company twice now. Both times, they are consistent and delivered timely. The orders are correct and they are visually appealing!! They look great! However, the highly decorated cookies taste terrible. Maybe they are not meant to be eaten? Im not sure. Anyway, again these are great gifts. Beautiful at the door for the WOW effect but the cookies taste bad! I wish they could improve their recipes. If they could make the cookies taste better, as good as they look.. then they would be a 5 star review. I do have to say that the regular cookies are fantastic and taste great!! I bought an arrangement for the nurses who took care of my 11 week old daughter after her open-heart surgery. My husband picked it up and brought it to the hospital. I was severely disappointed to say the least. I am a very artsy person and love to bake, decorate cookies, cakes, etc. so I know how to make decorated iced cookies and can do a pretty darn good job. Overall a very nice place. Lovely cookies. The cookies were beautiful. I do think the cookies were a bit bland for the price that I paid. I expected them to taste a tad bit better but they were not tasty. Couldn't tell the difference between the chocolate chip, big sugar cookie sculptures, and the red velvet..they all tasted the same and it wasn't quite a "flavor" I could put in the taste. I have half a mind to say they were a bit stale but I only ate one and was done with the rest. Everyone else loves them, or they didn't say anything because they knew I paid a bit for them. But, if you actually want to eat one...DON'T, they are horrible...my 11 year old granddaughter makes a way better sugar cookie, and even when her's are a week old they are fresher and tastier. You advertise: "Freshly Baked" and Deliciously Decorated" At least your smart enough to not put "Edible" in the listing. I am currently addicted to their chocolate chip cookies with nuts. They are the best i have ever had! They taste like your grandma baked them. Every time i walk in they are extremely nice.
