See's Candies: Although See's Candies was founded in Los Angeles in 1921 by Charles See, the company's origins go back to his mother Mary. Mary developed her candy recipes in the late 1800's and passed them on to her son Charles when the family moved from Canada to California in 1919. Honey and marshmallow are delicious though, so I had to try this one. It contains honey marshmallow and vanilla caramel. Like the Double Caramel, it's plenty chewy. I visited this location of See's hoping to see a broader selection of candies since it was the "factory" location and while it's a slightly bigger than normal store, it seems to have all the standards you know and love. This See's Candy, located on La Cienega Blvd in the Baldwin Hills area is huge. It has a large back where they make the candy for the better part of Los Angeles. So, this is where you will get candy made that day. It is the best. Parking is so easy and free. Once you walk in someone is there to help you or you can just look around. The place is never crowded and the service is so nice. They are especially great with kids. My grandson loves this place. They always give a free piece of candy and this time they had some left over Santa chocolates and he got two. He was in heaven. It is near Valentine's Day so boy do they have the selection of anyone's dreams. My grandson got a small heart box and said he was going to share with me. Funny, but I never saw that little box again. You will really like this place. All businesses are hurting right now so if you like candy go to this one. It is not in a big mall. I can tell you how many times I passed this location and never stopped in. I've been to various locations but just not this one in particular. My mom and I seem to have been on some type of chocolate chase today. So we stopped in, and boy we didn't regret it. Hillary and Christina were the representatives who helped us pick out our chocolate pieces. I totally appreciated the patience of both of them but in particular Hillary because she encouraged me to try various pieces in dark chocolate. I'm trying to lay off the milk chocolate so I had a hard time trying to pick up what I want in a dark chocolate flavor. But I loved her attitude because she gave me different ideas. Of course my mom and I walked away with a nice size box and also we love the See's lollipops. The store is so gorgeous and adorable to be so small. I had to take photos. I also appreciate how much parking is available for the location especially during the holiday without coming handy. The service is awesome the different chews and nuts are awesome. You know you're too fat, when... Sees staff won't offer you a sample I was a little taken aback when I went to See's to get some chocolates for my family out east. Two of us in the store at the time, gentleman before me grabs his $28 box of chocolates and is asked if he would like a sample, he tells the young lady which one and enjoys his wonderful choice. I'm up next, spend $96 for 3 boxes, even went to the counter to peruse and asked if they happened to have chocolate covered pretzels, was advised no but that would a nice addition. Gentleman rang me up at the register and on my May I was. Pandemic shopping changes have led some business to be more efficient and timesaving and See's is no exception. So, look, the 2 months, I've had to get some gifts for some nurses and them various people at work etc. I really didn't want to stand in line, in cramped quarters, and wait while people ask about every candy in the counter or have to grab something off the shelf and then awkwardly explain that I wasn't cutting to get to the register -- but rather, I was buying pre-packaged and would be in and out. See's has order online now and I did just that. A few clicks, scrolling, and then paying. Super easy. They send you an order confirmation email and then you wait for the order ready pickup one to come. You go in, flash the email to the person at the register and they get your bagged order. The only reason I didn't go with a 5 is that with the last trip, I called a bit early and the woman told me to come in, she'll get someone on it. I came in and one person told another that she was told to get my order ready but failed too. Just a bit odd but someone else got it ready and bagged while I was there. My only suggestion is with their parking lot being close and the layout, may curbside pickup be considered. Less people in your store during the holidays and less stress on the in-store counter employees. Final Word: See's and online orders. That's the way to go. read more

I've never met a See's slinger I didn't like and Chrystal is no exception. If you've got questions, she can't help you. She's doesn't like most of their chocolate treat ingredients, especially coconut, and she hasn't tried the fudge because "it smells bad." In the end, you'll appreciate her honesty. That's how good she is. I'm pretty sure she fabricated a dark peppermint shortage of singles and sold me a whole box instead. See's...it's an iconic staple here in America! And this factory location is an iconic staple to the Los Angeles skyline! When you think of a candy shop, especially as a kid, See's was it! My grandmother and my mother took us here as kids. Of course, they made it like it was expensive back then, but in all honesty, it was affordable then and it still is, today. Going to the See's Factory is an even bigger treat! If you're lucky, you will smell the aroma of warm butter and sugar billowing from the factory as you drive by. It's not everyday, but damn...when you get a whiff of that, you HAVE to pull in! Even if you're not deep into sweets, having some of their candy is like an orgasmic and heavenly blissful meeting in your mouth! I'm not big on sweets at all, but I do stop in and grab some candy once in awhile. I have several favorites, like the Pecan Roll or the Scotch Kiss and I don't even like marshmallows like that, except for S'mores, of course! That Scotch Kiss turned me into an addict! Love it!! I really like that their candy is still affordable. I also love Godiva chocolate and I spend more for less there, than I do here. I may buy 10 truffles at Godiva and it's around $20, yet here I can get over a pound for the same price! I think that's why on holidays, you will see that See's has longer lines than many of the other candy stores. Plus, they have all kinds of fundraisers and huge bulk boxes that companies buy through them. My mom used to work for the City of LA and every Christmas, all employees of the city would receive a gift certificate for a one pound box of candy! Can you imagine how much the city spent on that little perk?!! They have bulk candy ready to go behind the counter, so you can make your own boxes, whether they are one pound or five pounds. I heard that they have even bigger boxes! Going here is better when making your own because you don't have to worry about them running out of a particular piece, like you sometimes encounter at the smaller store locations. Service is good and rather quick, but be patient and be prepared to wait in long lines for holidays like Easter and Christmas. read more
