I arrived at the Stonestown See's branch at opening time, not many people in the store. I noticed right away that there were no July 4th-themed merchandise like the chocolate & sour stars or the lollipops in star cases. They didn't have any bordeaux bars, kona mochas, or small See's totes; they seemed to be out of everything I wanted to purchase. The candies I did buy, the clerk took them out of their papercups; I don't know why? I give the candies to my coworkers who place them on their desks until breaktime & the cups protect the candy. This is the first time this branch was so sloppy. I've shopped there 15 years. I hope they're not exempting the Independence Day products for political reasons. I had to order the items online & I'd hate to see this branch close, but that's what'll happen if this slop work continues. read more

Went the day before Christmas Eve. Lots was sold out but overall a good experience. Was aiming to buy some of the smaller 1/4 lb red boxes as stocking stuffers and some peanut brittle. Nowhere to be found but I was able to get some 1/4 lb mint chocolate boxes and 1/2 lb golden truffle boxes. The shelves were really bare and as a result I even got a tiny lemon drops - which the little ones enjoyed. Since there was no prepackaged peanut brittle I got some chocolate covered from behind the counter - a custom mix. That is always a good option and the line moved quickly. Normally I grab Sees from Bevmo as its the least expensive place to buy it with their frequent $15 off coupons.... But they were completely cleared out on the 23rd of December too. Well, you say... why wait until the day before Christmas Eve to buy these things? You should buy ahead of time... The truth is I don't trust myself nor Mr Moose and friends as they like to get into everything. read more

I am a longtime See's Candy customer, and the candy is usually excellent. However, the Stonestown staff on Valentine's Day definitely forgot the company standards of politeness and cheerfulness. The staff I saw on Valentine's Day was new, and their inexperience showed in their inefficiency and attitude. They were grouchy and complaining about customers under their breath, even though we are the very people who make their jobs possible. Some serious training is necessary, or I will stop buying See's Candy in this store. I hope the Area Manager hears my complaint and takes action. read more

I waited 40 minutes in line today and left with nothing. There was only 1 employee. The person in front of me ordered 6 boxes and then kept adding more, even after the employee told them they can't because there's other customers waiting. The employee worked with zero urgency. Many people left the line. When I asked if I could have a sample while I waited, since it had been like 35 minutes, he got sassy and said I needed to wait. I understand that it takes time at Sees but it took so long that I didn't have enough time to continue waiting and wasted all those minutes. I will go out of my way to go somewhere else instead the next time I want good chocolate. I'm really sad about this because I love sees but I walked out with nothing but a worse mood and less time. Free sample and friendly customer service I walked inside this See's Candy shop located inside the Stonestown Galleria in San Francisco... I have been meaning to use the gift card fellow Yelper, Lillian W, kindly gave me... but she gave it to me when I still had braces. I had to wait till they were off so I can have my favorite! I have had my braces off for sometime now but haven't been able to make it to a See's shoppe. Finally, the opportunity came last Saturday. My turn! \(**)/ I already knew what chocolate I wanted, I was just waiting for the couple in front of me to finish their transaction with the cashier. I wanted to use all $15 worth on the milk chocolate peanuts. She started filling the small white signature See's paper bag. When she handed me the bag it seemed heavy and worth more than my gift card. The employee also gave me a bunch of samples and she placed them in a separate bag. What a nice employee!! She scanned my gift card and off I went on my merry way. Only in the car after we left the mall was I able check the receipt --- the nice lady handed me a pound of milk peanuts! Not the level of service from the manager or a See's Candies location. Everything from greeting me, asking for a mixed box and having to correct her for giving the same candies, and not offering me a sample while others walked in without buying anything and were given samples. I will never go to this location based on the rude service, unprofessional treatment, and lack of customer satisfaction. This is reflective of the service on Saturday, May 11th at approximately 630p. See's, check who the assistant manager or manager was and please use this as a coaching moment. Amateur hour stuff at the establishment. Edited on 1 June 2024. I was emailed and called by senior leadership to discuss my experience. It was corrected and I went back to validate that things were addressed properly. Only to received the bag and All the chocolates were throw into together and not placed in a box. Deanna was certainly not having a good day because she was very rude and made my experience worse after asking about having them separated. She takes the bag and makes an even bigger mess. Small location that my parents never knew it existed until today. I like to take See's Candies as a gift to Japan for my friends and family there. Their chocolate does not melt in the Japan heat. Super amazed since it's always like 90+ degrees during the summer in Japan. 1 pound (1 box) of chocolate is $20.50. They have variety of choices: milk, dark, soft middle, assorted. I chose the soft middle to take home for my grandma. She loves chocolate, but the hard ones can be hard for her to chew on. The shop was kept clean. I can see why my parents never noticed the shop. It's pretty hidden compared to the Godiva chocolate shop. But this location is great because you can do your other shopping and there's a lot of parking spots. read more

I went into See's today to get a birthday gift for a nine year old. I waited behind two people for 27 minutes, and when my turn came up I requested $12.50 worth of Almond Squares & $12.50 worth of Rocky Road. The employee looked at me as if I were from another planet. She just couldn't get over it, after an argument almost ensued, she decided it was time for her to go home. Another employee (Editha) has been playing with her computer for 15 minutes plus before deciding to help out. I told her the same thing I told the previous employee, and it was almost like talking to a rude robot! We must've gone back & forth while she kept playing games weighing the candy, and I asked if she needed a break? She kept mumbling something, eventually, I decided to start watching her hands. Editha decided to not box or wrap the birthday gift (I posted a picture) I asked her if it was worth losing her job over, she responded that she didn't care. I thought to myself, who starts an argument over wrapping candy? These people today instead of the Stonestown Galleria were absolutely shameful, rude, and evil. I'm forced to give a 1 star rating, this was a negative visit. I handed the employee a $5 card for purchasing $25 worth of candy, and she responded to me, I knew you were going to do that. Why is she even employed there is the first question. I'm still in shock at her behavior, and this isn't the first or second time. I grew up with See's Candies so there is a bit of nostalgia for me here. At Christmas time those paper wrapped boxes with the gold foil sticker on the ends were reserved only for higher status friends and relatives. It was considered the fancy chocolate back then. My sister and I would fight over the caramels and the ones with sprinkles and sadly the dark chocolate with nut pieces were left behind to inevitable get thrown in the trash... three weeks later. Now as an adult, there is a whole world of fine chocolate out there that is truly amazing. But every so often, I don't know...
