    Only one instead of two.

One of my favorite spots in Ferry Building. Customer service is usually spot on. Today I bought TWO pastries ( peanut bar with caramel) plus a bag of chocolate covered espresso beans and a bag cocoa nibs. Got on ferry to Oakland and opened box to eat the pastries and saw that they only put ONE pastry in box instead of the two. Box was taped shut. Too late to go back. Not happy. Check your box before you get on ferry

Rich high quality chocolate is served at Dandelion. I enjoy their hot chocolate, while my partner's favorite is the frozen hot chocolate. I have ordered the basque cake online before and it's a family favorite!

If you are visiting from out of town, let me tell you Dandelion Chocolate is a must try if you are in the area. You might be thinking hot chocolate? Hot chocolate isn't for adults? Well, let me change your mind. Dandelion Chocolate just doesn't make your run of the mill powdered chocolate, they infuse their specialty chocolates (that they also sell in store) into this delicious and cozy concoction. They top it off with what I assumed is a in-house made marshmallow that sweetens your drink just right. It's absolutely exquisite. Now that's just their famous house hot chocolate, if you're ready to spice things up (def pun intended) you may want to get the mission hot chocolate instead. It's literally the house hot chocolate with a sprinkle of spice as you see in my photo. It also comes with a cute little cookie with every order! I was a huge fan of the house chocolate but the mission blew my mind yesterday. 10/10 recommend. Last but not least if you are feeling a bit sweeter today, then may I recommend their brownie as well? We've had it a couple of times and it comes conveniently packaged in a nice box so you can carry it around or finish later. Overall Dandelion is a local favorite and hopefully it leaves you with a sweet taste of San Francisco when you visit. Highly recommend.

On our little trip to the ferry building to look at holiday decorations, we noticed there was a constant line of people waiting for the hot chocolate here. It was super quick to order and happy bonus-they have an alternative milk oat milk option so dairy sensitive people can still enjoy a delicious drinks! The staff were super helpful, friendly and quick and the house hot chocolate was so delicious and so cozy-perfect for these cold foggy sf days. I'm not a big marshmallow fan, but it made the hot chocolate sooo creamy... it was almost like whipped cream. Unfortunately, the house hot chocolate mix was all sold out!

Even though Dandelion is known for its fancy chocolates, don't sleep on the hot chocolate! I keep coming back for the Mission Hot Chocolate, it's insanely rich, velvety, and spiced just right. It's got that deep nutty cacao flavor with a subtle warmth from the spice that makes it feel super comforting, and definitely not too sweet. Don't skip the cubed marshmallow either, it's soft, pillowy, and perfectly melts into the drink. It even comes with a tiny cookie tucked into a little compartment on the to go cup, such a fun and thoughtful detail. Even on a busy weekends, service was quick and friendly. It's on the pricey side, around $7 but I think it's worth it since this is more of a decadent/comforting treat than an average cup of hot coco.

The chocolate drinks are delicious! We had the horchata and it has a great blend of spices and chocolate. This is a smaller location but still nice that they have samples of their chocolate. Great for browsing and for a sweet snack!

Some of my favorite chocolate! So glad they opened a Ferry Building outpost. I'll be coming here before taking the ferry or while on a run or bike ride along the Embarcadero. I love seeing tourists discover Dandelion here too. No seating, but take your delicious chocolatey drinks to-go outside where there's seating. Their chocolate is locally-made and tastes fresher and healthier (as you know what's going into each bar!) I love their frozen hot chocolate and other chocolate drinks. Great service here too--it gets busy but they remain calm, cool, collected, and kind.

Pretty delicious hot chocolate! We ordered whatever was the slightly spicy one. It came with a little cookie on the side of the cup, which seems like their thing. The hot chocolate was on the rich side, so you don't need to really get a big one. Their assortments of chocolates look nice but super pricey. Nice employees. Small shop but it works!

Received a gift of Dandelion Chocolate House Hot Chocolate mix as a gift. I was extremely disappointed in the product. The power was dry and hard as a rock. I was afraid the glass tube was going to break digging the powder. The beads and powder didn't look like any hot chocolate I've seen before. After preparing the mix and tasting it; it tastes like mud mixed with sludge.... Yuck! Don't waste your money or your time. I wouldn't consider buying this, using it, and definitely wouldn't give it as a gift.

A friend texted me screenshots of a couple products while I shopped at the Ferry Building. After finishing my Tuesday shopping, I stopped here and showed a gentleman my screenshots in speeding the process. One was available while the other was but in a "Japanese" version. As we walked back to the cashier area, I noticed their food display (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=48&select=lHLWrVDvt5cKev2AujD21Q) and temptation got the best of me. I decided to get a couple of items for myself to bring home. I started with the breakfast cake (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=U5sDECQ2fNYT7fSTM2YLRg); tender butter cake baked chocolate coconut, topped with velvety ganache, and finished with cocoa nibs and toasted coconut flakes. Packed in a paper bag, the cake wasn't as pretty as part of the topping stuck to the top sesame Noir brownie (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=0XIeZJ2RE0_pCwLbt4nhdw); 70% Camino Verde, Ecuador chocolate brownie, swirled with black-sesame cream cheese, topped with sesame caramel, finished with caramel ganache. In buying some cookies for a friend, she complimented them in saying it was better than one of her favorites from the Saturday market. Of course, this prompts me to return the following week to try their oatmeal cranberry chocolate chip cookie (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=fKXHktjx7YHvigOUkrS3UQ). I bought one a week later and found it less sweet (cranberry vs raisin?) and less buttery with dark chocolate chips. The store isn't very large with their take and eat stuff mostly at the counter on the right. Their products are neatly shelved to the left and center area of the store. There is a barista making drinks in the right corner too. Thanks to Jasper for helping me both Tuesdays that I came here. I'll likely try that other dessert item next time.

Dandelion = delicious artisan chocolate! Dandelion ethically sources their cacao beans and makes small batch, single original chocolates. The packaging and presentation are beautiful, and their chocolates are decadently rich. We recently visited their location in the Ferry Building. Friends took home a few chocolate bars. I purchased a few of their enormous and beautiful, freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies. YUM! They have 5 or 6 locations in SF, and one in Vegas. I'd love to visit their 16th Street Factory in SF for a tour and/or chocolate class. And I need to try their hot chocolate on my next visit!

This was my first time in the ferry building! It reminds me of a smaller version of the Anaheim packing district mixed in with some local vendors selling other merchandise aside from food. Dandelion chocolate is one of the small shops inside; and boy was this hot chocolate REALLYYYY GOOD. It's not a typical milky or watery hot beverage; I can actually taste a stronger flavor of chocolate. I recommend adding the marshmallow in the cup, I won't go out of my way to buy hot chocolate, but my coworkers recommended me this spot. Did not disappoint the service was great, not too many people too since it's a weekday which was nice.

The treats were tasty, but on the pricier side. I believe the pricing reflects the quality of the chocolate used in the products, so to me, the pricing is justified. The outer shell of the canelé had a nice crunch, but the inside actually reminded me of a chocolate brownie, and was less custardy than your typical canelé. Despite not being super traditional, I still really enjoyed the treat. With the chocolate chip cookie, I loved the giant chunks of semi-sweet dark chocolate embedded within it. I appreciate that the cookie itself wasn't overly sweet. With most cookies, I usually can only tolerate having a few bites, or need to have a coffee in hand to enjoy it, but I didn't feel like that was the case here: both treats were delicious. Overall, I would definitely stop by Dandelion Chocolate again if I'm looking for a well-crafted, sweet treat.

Our tour guide (forgot his name...!) was so welcoming as he greeted each of us and walked us through the factory. We started with a quick overview of Dandelion Chocolate's history and a handful of samples :3 The actual workshop was just around the corner, hosted in an airy kitchen space. We were given a rundown of the chocolate-making process and the locally-sourced toppings before being invited to create our own bars, by pouring warm chocolate into the molds and quickly adding our choice flavors before they hardened. YUMMMM I may have had more than a few samples as we decorated :3 All throughout, the smell of rich chocolate enveloped us like a warm hug... Once our bars were in the fridge, our tour guide took us to an adjacent meeting room where we tasted hot cocoa and learned about cocoa bean harvesting. Zipped through Q&A about the factory-- passed by so fast! We were back in the room to crack open our finished bars. All except my dad's came out intact (broke into 3 pieces!), but our guide apologized profusely and gifted us a complimentary bar as a token of apology...! My dad was of the mindset that broken or whole, it all tastes the same (lolol) but it was a kind gesture nonetheless :') We stuck around to taste some of Bloom cafe's ice cream offerings, which were phenomenal! Truly a great spot to appreciate fine chocolates. We can't wait to come back for another event!!

I booked about a week in advance which I would definitely advise - these tours fill up! I was the only non-local attendee so it seems like Dandelion is best known within the city. The tour was great - our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the chocolate making process and made the experience fun! We learned about cacao beans and even got to taste the cacao fruit - which was interesting. We then went through the whole process from bean to bar and walked through the factory which was a really neat experience. There were lots of samples along the way which I enjoyed. One of the chocolate makers gave us a sneak peak of an upcoming chocolate bar! The area is spacious and there was a lot of standing - so something to be mindful of if you sign up for a tour. We ended the tour in the front room where we were treated to a free hot chocolate to end our experience. The front room also had a section of samples of their current chocolate offerings. I was happy to try them all before selecting my to-go chocolate for the ride home. I opted for the Mexican hot chocolate and it was spicy and delicious. On my way out, I saw a group arrive for a chocolate-making class so it seems like they have a bunch of different class options! I would certainly come back here for a class or to show the tour to friends and family.
