    Fish taco and shrimp taco

Parking can be tricky on a busy night, but there is someone to help direct patrons on where to park. You order at the window, and they give you a number to take to your seat. They are dog friendly and have an entire dog menu! The views of the marsh are pretty, and I enjoy the outdoor seating. The food isn't the best in the world, but it also isn't bad. I like coming here for the whole vibe and tend to get the fried shrimp. Half off tacos all day Tuesday though!

Both of the staff members I encountered were so friendly. I wish I had gotten their names. They have both Indoor seating and a large outdoor seating area. Beautiful view of the water! Ordered the seafood combo (grouper and shrimp) to go. Everything was fresh. I was given a wait time of 30 minutes, but they made my order much quicker than that. Everything was fried nicely, although the breading wasn't really stuck to the meat. The seasoning was great and nicely fried. Fries were decent, a bit greasy-tasting. This is "nitpicky" but the sauce containers were sitting on top of the fish so some spots were soggy from the condensation. I'll be back!

Went here the other day and honestly really solid spot. Food is awesome. I had the grouper sandwich and it was incredible, definitely would get that again. A couple things to know going in. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare. You usually have to wait just to get into the lot and sometimes end up pulled off on the side of the road which is a little sketchy. That said, they do have a parking attendant and it actually runs pretty smoothly all things considered. It is more of a casual setup too. You walk in, order at the counter, grab a number, and they bring the food out to you. Not really a sit down reservation type place. Last thing, the bugs are no joke. Definitely bring bug spray or you will feel it. Overall though, food makes it worth it and I would go back.

Had a great lunch here with the family. The fish and shrimp were fried perfectly. Moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. My only regret was not getting the side of hushpuppies because 1 wasn't enough. We also had the shrimp and grits which was delicious but very rich. Everything was fresh. The outdoor seating overlooking the marsh was perfect for a nice afternoon. Plenty of big tables outside made it kid friendly and a good option for big groups. Food came out fast and was piping hot. Our server was also on top of requests as well.

This is a strange little place. Parking is a big issue, because there's very little. You order at a window outside, which our day it was very hot outside. We sat inside and it was pretty loud. My shrimp and grits were ok, but nothing special. The shrimp was pretty good though. We didn't get service really, with the exception of pouring a little more water for us. Overall it was good for what it is.

Ambiance 10/10. Staff were very friendly. I just didn't like the food very much. Not bad, just not very flavorful or memorable. I would come back for a drink and the view. Plus you can bring your dogs which is nice.

Couldn't wait to try this place mainly because you can eat outside with lovely views and they had whole fried okra which is without a doubt my favorite vegetable in the universe. Alas, it was raining cats and dogs so we sat inside after figuring out the order system. My pet peeve with restaurants is that they often bring the food only lukewarm. NOT HERE! Every dish we had was piping hot. That fried okra was outstanding!! I don't know where they get their product, but the pods were just the right size for frying and not a single stringy piece in the bunch! I could honestly just go there to get fried okra and a glass of wine! During happy hour of course. Whole flounder was excellent. I loved that you don't have to ask for lemons, tartar sauce and ketchup because they automatically bring it. Blackened grouper was tasty though a tad on the thin side. Onion rings were fair. They were hot, but I believe frozen. Fresh rings never have a batter that perfect and when you bit into them the onion completely came out of every one. So most of my crust was left behind. The collards were cooked perfectly, but I did not like whatever that seasoning was in them. Not at all. The staff are extremely nice. One positive thing about the rain is there was zero line and only a few inside. Our server said they are slammed at this time on a Saturday night so we definitely got lucky. Okra, I'll be back! Next time I think I'll try the shrimp and fish tacos. I'm always thinking of next time!

Smaller sized parking lot, you order at a window then can take your pick of sitting in or outside. Good variety of appetizers, baked Brussel sprouts to frog legs. Food came out quick, appetizers came out 5 minutes after sitting down and the mains 10 minutes. Smaller sized establishment but on the water with a great view. Proportions were definitely on the smaller side, and a confusing part of the sides to some entrées said "Hushpuppies" however upon receiving the entrees you only get 1. This was the same for 3 separate entrees we had. The fish tacos were very good too.

We came to this restaurant for a quick lunch before everyone heads out to the airport. It's a casual rustic looking place on the west side of the road so a bit tricky to turn into the parking lot if coming from the south, and parking could get a bit crowded come peak lunch time. You order at a window outside, get a number and seat yourself either in or outside - inside a bit dark and not very big but there are a lot more tables outdoors which is the preferable place to sit on a nice day. Food came pretty quickly and everything was tasty, I had grilled fish and shrimp tacos (priced at $5 @ which is very reasonable), and anything that's fried had crispy and flavorful batter. Convenient place to go on the way to the airport.

We ordered the basics. At places like this I like to keep it simple and according to their menu they do too! They had some specials but I ended up getting the seafood platter with blackened shrimp and a side of grits. It was absolutely delicious. My hubby ordered the grouper and shrimp with grits and both platters came with 1 hush puppy that was very delicious too. This was a perfect lunch meal not too filling but perfect to keep us fueled. First timers: this is an order & sit style establishment so you go up to the window and order and pay before being served and after paying you pick anywhere to sit. We did the corner by the marsh and it was beautiful.

Ellis Creek Fish Camp is the perfect laid-back seafood spot with unbeatable marsh views. The vibe is casual and coastal -- picnic tables, cold drinks, and fresh, flavorful food. I had the mussels (a special), fried fish taco, blackened flounder & blackened shrimp platter (which came with a side and a hush puppy). Everything hit the spot. Crispy, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. The cocktails are refreshing, and it's dog-friendly too -- bonus! Great service, great setting, and consistently good food. Whether you're local or just visiting, this is a must-try spot on James Island.

Come for the seafood, stay for the views- great spot for casual seafood on James island! We came here for an early dinner on a Saturday and beat the crowd. The line outside can get long, so be prepared! There's a couple of options for seating inside, but outside has much more room and with amazing views of the marsh! We ordered the blacked shrimp and fish and the crab cake sandwich. Both were really good and they came out quickly. For sides, we got house made chips and collards. The chips were super good, but the collards were mediocre. They have several local craft beers to choose from as well as wine to sip on while you take in the gorgeousness of the water!

This place never disappoints! The seafood is always fresh and hot and the staff is super friendly. They probably have the best fried okra in the area and always seem to have a few local beers on tap that you can't get anywhere else. Huge portions, great views and delicious hush puppies! Get a side of the Firecracker sauce... For everything.

The waitress was just okay, but the bigger issue was the quality of the dishes. We ordered calamari, fried green tomatoes, and mussels everything tasted like standard frozen, pre-prepared food. The mussels were the best of the group, mainly because of the sauce, which had decent flavor. For entrées, the redfish was overcooked and covered in a heavy sauce with no clear flavor. The fried flounder had almost no seasoning which is surprising for fried fish. The cheese grits were disappointing, with cheese that wasn't even fully melted, and the collard greens were overly heavy with pork fat. Drinks were watered down. Overall, aside from the welcoming host, the experience fell flat. I'd skip this one.
