Had a great lunch here with the family. The fish and shrimp were fried perfectly. Moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. My only regret was not getting the side of hushpuppies because 1 wasn't enough. We also had the shrimp and grits which was delicious but very rich. Everything was fresh. The outdoor seating overlooking the marsh was perfect for a nice afternoon. Plenty of big tables outside made it kid friendly and a good option for big groups. Food came out fast and was piping hot. Our server was also on top of requests as well.

Ambiance 10/10. Staff were very friendly. I just didn't like the food very much. Not bad, just not very flavorful or memorable. I would come back for a drink and the view. Plus you can bring your dogs which is nice.

We came to this restaurant for a quick lunch before everyone heads out to the airport. It's a casual rustic looking place on the west side of the road so a bit tricky to turn into the parking lot if coming from the south, and parking could get a bit crowded come peak lunch time. You order at a window outside, get a number and seat yourself either in or outside - inside a bit dark and not very big but there are a lot more tables outdoors which is the preferable place to sit on a nice day. Food came pretty quickly and everything was tasty, I had grilled fish and shrimp tacos (priced at $5 @ which is very reasonable), and anything that's fried had crispy and flavorful batter. Convenient place to go on the way to the airport.

    The STAR!! Delicious dipping sauce.

Couldn't wait to try this place mainly because you can eat outside with lovely views and they had whole fried okra which is without a doubt my favorite vegetable in the universe. Alas, it was raining cats and dogs so we sat inside after figuring out the order system. My pet peeve with restaurants is that they often bring the food only lukewarm. NOT HERE! Every dish we had was piping hot. That fried okra was outstanding!! I don't know where they get their product, but the pods were just the right size for frying and not a single stringy piece in the bunch! I could honestly just go there to get fried okra and a glass of wine! During happy hour of course. Whole flounder was excellent. I loved that you don't have to ask for lemons, tartar sauce and ketchup because they automatically bring it. Blackened grouper was tasty though a tad on the thin side. Onion rings were fair. They were hot, but I believe frozen. Fresh rings never have a batter that perfect and when you bit into them the onion completely came out of every one. So most of my crust was left behind. The collards were cooked perfectly, but I did not like whatever that seasoning was in them. Not at all. The staff are extremely nice. One positive thing about the rain is there was zero line and only a few inside. Our server said they are slammed at this time on a Saturday night so we definitely got lucky. Okra, I'll be back! Next time I think I'll try the shrimp and fish tacos. I'm always thinking of next time!

We had quick service and good food. Parking can be tricky but they had someone out guiding guests in, which was super helpful. Plenty of seating outside.

We ordered the basics. At places like this I like to keep it simple and according to their menu they do too! They had some specials but I ended up getting the seafood platter with blackened shrimp and a side of grits. It was absolutely delicious. My hubby ordered the grouper and shrimp with grits and both platters came with 1 hush puppy that was very delicious too. This was a perfect lunch meal not too filling but perfect to keep us fueled. First timers: this is an order & sit style establishment so you go up to the window and order and pay before being served and after paying you pick anywhere to sit. We did the corner by the marsh and it was beautiful.

Ellis Creek Fish Camp is the perfect laid-back seafood spot with unbeatable marsh views. The vibe is casual and coastal -- picnic tables, cold drinks, and fresh, flavorful food. I had the mussels (a special), fried fish taco, blackened flounder & blackened shrimp platter (which came with a side and a hush puppy). Everything hit the spot. Crispy, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. The cocktails are refreshing, and it's dog-friendly too -- bonus! Great service, great setting, and consistently good food. Whether you're local or just visiting, this is a must-try spot on James Island.

Come for the seafood, stay for the views- great spot for casual seafood on James island! We came here for an early dinner on a Saturday and beat the crowd. The line outside can get long, so be prepared! There's a couple of options for seating inside, but outside has much more room and with amazing views of the marsh! We ordered the blacked shrimp and fish and the crab cake sandwich. Both were really good and they came out quickly. For sides, we got house made chips and collards. The chips were super good, but the collards were mediocre. They have several local craft beers to choose from as well as wine to sip on while you take in the gorgeousness of the water!

This place never disappoints! The seafood is always fresh and hot and the staff is super friendly. They probably have the best fried okra in the area and always seem to have a few local beers on tap that you can't get anywhere else. Huge portions, great views and delicious hush puppies! Get a side of the Firecracker sauce... For everything.

One of my favorite local spots here in James Island. Parking can be challenging on the weekends but there is generally someone where helping guild people go spots and she is honestly the sweetest person ever. I love coming here in the afternoon to grab a snack and get some reading or work done. The view is incredible, the food is always good and they have a great drink menu. It's also the perfect place to enjoy a sunset! I believe they also do private events. Perfect for rehearsal dinner or company outings.

The food was very yummy. You can dine inside or outside we dined outside which was very nice other than the table behind us talked so very loud. Parking is very limited. You also order your food at the window outside pay attention to what side the line starts on

We went to this place on Sunday right after church and the line was long and we were able to look at the menu while we were waiting for our turn to order the food. We opted to sit outside and they have sail shades for outdoor seating. The food were great and all happy with their order. Although, the pasta and the grilled mahi-mahi can have more salt and they do have it in the bucket so you can season your own food. The collards green and onion rings were pretty spot on! We were hungry so we devour all the food. The view outside overlooking the inter coastal waterway was pretty peaceful. Will try to coming back next time.

They made us feel so comfortable and even let us enjoy a drink in the waiting area while everything was sorted out. No stress at all. Once seated, our server was fantastic. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and more than happy to give recommendations, which was much needed because everything sounded amazing. They even played along with our Christmas party raffle games, which made the night extra fun. Such a cool, welcoming vibe. For appetizers, we shared the lemon ricotta dip, the Dippin' Shrimp, the spinach artichoke dip, and a spicy Caesar salad. Everything was absolutely delicious. For my main course, I ordered the pecan-crusted chicken with a side of Brussels sprouts, and wow. Phenomenal. Huge portions, incredible flavor, and we were all stuffed by the end. Amazing service, amazing food, and an overall great experience. I cannot wait to come back again. This is officially a go-to spot for celebrations.

The waitress was just okay, but the bigger issue was the quality of the dishes. We ordered calamari, fried green tomatoes, and mussels everything tasted like standard frozen, pre-prepared food. The mussels were the best of the group, mainly because of the sauce, which had decent flavor. For entrées, the redfish was overcooked and covered in a heavy sauce with no clear flavor. The fried flounder had almost no seasoning which is surprising for fried fish. The cheese grits were disappointing, with cheese that wasn't even fully melted, and the collard greens were overly heavy with pork fat. Drinks were watered down. Overall, aside from the welcoming host, the experience fell flat. I'd skip this one.

I yanked my back out and was looking forward to having a Bloody to go with my ibuprofen. Denied. I had the most delightful server, Caroline, who set me up for success with my order. I had selections in mind and she recommended them when I asked her what was good. The French Onion soup had an interesting seasoning profile that I could not place-but it was very good-no cheese or croutons, so maybe it should be onion soup instead. I loved the spin on the Benedict with a sweet potato roll, the eggs were perfectly over medium and the home fries were on time!!! The view here is beautiful, but unfortunately the food doesn't live up to it. While the scenery is definitely the highlight, the meals felt mediocre for the price. I ordered the ribeye, which is one of the most expensive items on the menu. It arrived overcooked to medium/well (I ordered it medium) and was surprisingly thin for a ribeye, maybe about a half inch at most. I was prepared to just keep it, but our waitress encouraged me to send it back. Saying you are paying for a good meal and we want you to be happy. Our waitress was training a new employee and doing a wonderful job so I thought this might be helpful for training. So I agreed. When the replacement steak came out, it unfortunately had the same issues. It was again overcooked, the edges were heavily charred to the point they weren't edible, and it was over-salted. The cut of meat itself was horrible as if they purposely picked the worst steak to resend. At that point I decided not to complain again, but I wasn't able to eat it. Our waitress (not the trainee) asked if we needed a refill of our water which I did. When she filled my glass she said "anything for you princess, since we messed up your order" regardless if it was meant derogatory or not that is not something you say to a customer under your breath. Overall, no one at our table was impressed with their meals and could not finish or didn't like them which was disappointing given the prices and the otherwise great setting. Don't get me wrong, I pay for good food. The view is worth mentioning, but the food didn't match the experience we were hoping for.
