Seiad Cafe and Seiad Valley Store
R M.

What a beautiful morning for a motorcycle ride along the Klamath River to Seiad Cafe! The food here is plain but very well prepared. Today I had light delicious pancakes with perfectly done eggs and sausage. The coffee was on the weak side though. The place wasn't busy since it was early in the day and early for the tourist season and Pacific Crest Trail trekkers. The PCT hikers love this cafe because it is next to the trail and they can fill up before the big elevation gain from the Klamath River to the Siskiyou and Cascade mountains' crests. Plus they can stock up on supplies at the adjoining store if they are not planning on a stop at Ashland.

I've been coming to Seiad Valley every summer for several years now. Every time I come to the Seiad Cafe near the Pacific Crest Trail, it is quite the treat! The food is always fresh, delicious and excellently prepared. Everything on the menu can fall under the category of comfort food, especially considering the large portions!! One time I even attempted the world famous pancake challenge, which is a tall stack of manhole cover sized pancakes! Needless to say I failed miserably, but it was fun trying! The decor is quaint, bright and lots of fun with kitschy signs and wooden games for the younger set to play with. I highly recommend the Seiad Cafe, every time I have come here, I have never been disappointed!

I have eaten at the Seiad Cafe only twice, while fishing on the Klamath River.

The place was super busy when I arrived there were people waiting outside, which is always a good sign but since I was dining solo, I got seated right away with no wait at all. The atmosphere inside is warm, cozy, and welcoming, with really cool décor featuring cars and car photos that give the restaurant personality and a fun, nostalgic vibe. It feels comfortable rather than fancy, the kind of place where you can relax, sip your coffee, and enjoy your food without feeling rushed. I ordered the shrimp and Swiss cheese omelette with jalapeño, and it was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked. The portion was generous, and it came out piping hot and surprisingly fast considering how busy they were. The coffee was amazing too rich, fresh, and exactly what you want with a hearty breakfast. What really stood out was the service. The servers were attentive, friendly, and on top of everything despite the crowd. They made sure coffee stayed filled, checked in at the right moments, and kept things moving smoothly without making it feel rushed or chaotic. Another big plus: the prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality and portion sizes. It's rare to find a place that balances great food, fast service, cozy ambiance, and affordability this well. Overall, I'd easily rate it around 4.5 stars. If you're driving along Highway 101 or anywhere near Brookings, this spot is absolutely worth the stop. It's busy for a reason great food, great vibe, and great service all in one place.

This is the GOAT breakfast spot of Ashland. They serve all the usual classics with finesse and…read morelove. The bacon comes crisp, the pancakes fluffy, the omelettes delicate, and the hash browns seared beautifully. Beyond that, they push their menu to incorporate delicious, more elevated ingredients. The smoked bacon omelette is a banger. If you like the carmelized flavor of French onion soup, you'll love this! So rich and deep with umami flavor, melding with diced bacon and fontina cheese. The Belgian waffle is also intense with bits of walnut and bacon baked in, which collides beautifully with hot maple syrup. So delicious! Lastly, I like to champion breakfast spots that have the courage to deliver expertly done hash browns. Breadboard doesn't even try, with the usual "home fries" cop-out (that nobody loves but will tolerate). Brothers serves hash browns, but they're usually soggy and falling apart. Not the case here. You get a nice, flat, crisp, rigid slab of hashbrowns, ready to accompany your main. Overall this is my number one spot for an Ashland breakfast. Definitely worth the small drive from downtown.

We got the special mushroom crepe, two orders of the salted caramel breve (hot and cold), and the eggs florentine with the fried polenta side. Highly recommend.
