My friend was so eager to bring me to this place. I like bubble tea but it's very generic to me. So when she was ranting and raving about this place I was very much "Yeah ok." The line was long when we got there but it was a short wait. The menu was medium sized, I was disappointed not to see as may flavours as there usually are at BT places. But we ordered the Kung Fu Milk tea. The first sip I had i thought it was too sweet. But after a good shake, it was so yummy. For a large it wasn't that expensive, either. I love this place. I'm pretty partial to this place. I've only visited 'Kung Fu Tea' once, though I've been to the uh. "predecessors" millions of times before. It was a late night order with the bestie. I got my usual taro milk tea, and she got coffee milk tea. Their taro milk seriously had the taste of taro in it, which wasn't bad. Most other places I guess makes theirs more sweet with the syrup but here it was sweet and I actually tasted the taro. The prices are decent, me now being used to seeing the absurd prices in East Village. I was very disappointed they don't accept card, but bestie ended up having the cash for it. I'm like a big kid, and I had too much fun watching all the machinery work, seeing the shakers shake the drinks and the other machine cover and seal the drink with the plastic cover. Though overall? I miss the old place that used to be at the same spot. Whoever ran the management, whether it's the mall management or a completely different person was a dummy to keep taking away the crepe corner. If Kung Fu had the crepe corner like the old place, I'd be coming back for more and more. Will definitely be visiting the place in Brooklyn one day to see how they are. read more

Relieved that there was no line when we went Saturday evening after dinner. My friends have raved about Kung Fu Tea and built up my excitement to try it. Kung Fu did not disappoint. We got the milk black tea with lychee jelly. The tea was delicious and not like any other milk black teas I've had before. I am not a huge fan of lychee jelly but it was a nice touch to the tea. Many times I question whether or not it is worth the wait to brave the line here for a bubble tea or slushy for my daughter. I am happy to say that each and every minute is time well spent. I have yet to be disappointed with my orders here and love the selection. They manage to consistently make a perfect tapioca pearl and theirs teas taste fresh and clean. GOOD: - Pricing is competitive - The serving time for bubble tea is pretty darn fast - as it should be - with the average wait time being no more than 2 minutes even during the heaviest of lines. - The signature Kung Fu tea is addicting, even if it can be really sweet sometimes!!! BAD: - Other tea varieties are really not compelling and even less compelling once you've tasted it. - At times the line can get long and it doesn't help that the staff assumes every customer knows Chinese and shouts out the number on the ticket in Chinese. You're left either standing there waiting to hear your number in English or rushing over and bending to look over to see if your number is called. UGLY: - Not a place you want to stay in during warm weather. I know most people get the tea to cool down, but sitting at the place is not a good idea when there are two stands in the same area serving hot noodles in broth. The area becomes hot, sticky, and quite unbearable. - Seating and décor is dark as there is barely any lighting and super dirty where people leave stains and wrappers on chairs while the floor looks like grimy mildew bath tiles. I think I got the Longan Honey Tea with Bubble which was not too overly sweet and I liked the unique Longan topping. The drinks that my friends got were too syrupy and sugary. I always try to diversify my palette when it comes to tasting different teas. In terms of taste, this place is really a hit or miss with me. I generally order a fruit based drink with no sugar and almost ALWAYS they're laced with traces of added syrup. I feel like that's pretty standard for their drinks to have sugar, but I just find it unprofessional their clerks don't make it a point to express that during the order. Prices are a bit outrageous if you ask me. Also, at this location they're more of a "counter" than an actual store, so if you catch this place at a bad time expect your wait time to be longer than the time it actually takes you to enjoy your drink. Decent tea, confusing signs. I had the black milk tea. It was pretty good and had a unique tangy flavor. The boba was really sweet and chewy, which was nice. I wanted 70% sugar but the signs posted were confusing with them saying "70% less" and "30% less". While worrying about getting misinterpreted for wanting 30% sugar, the lady got a bit mad at me! Two stars as the flavor of the teas are usually pretty good but didn't care for how the guy making my tea had wet hands and the water dripped off his hand into my tea. I know he probably just washed it and was likely clean but it wasn't exactly appetizing knowing I'm going to drink it. Also, their snow ice they're making now is terrible. It's not light or melt in your mouth. Texture was totally off and flavor was so damn artificial. Somehow it was dry in your mouth, not creamy at all. I first decided I liked this place when I stopped by in the summer. I got a mango slush and was delighted to find they had added mango jelly on the bottom (not what I usually get from CoCo Juice where I usually frequent). The service is fairly quick and they are friendly with assisting you with any requests you have. I came here last week and decided to go for a hot drink since it's freezing in NY right now. I got the Red Bean Wow Milk and it was delicious! I've never had anything like it. I forgot to request half-sugar, but was surprised to find out that it wasn't that sweet to begin with! Most drinks you buy nowadays, are packed with sugar, but this one had just the right amount. I asked for it to be a hot beverage but when served to me, it was only lukewarm. When I complained about it, the worker immediately apologized and reheated it with the machine as soon as possible, no waiting. So that was nice to see good customer service being provided despite their mistake with my order. I will definitely be stopping by Kung Fu Tea again next time I'm in Flushing. read more

I've been to Kung Fu twice now and have been highly satisfied both times. My orders: Coconut Milk tea with less sugar, less ice and bubbles Passion Fruit Green tea with less sugar, less ice, and bubbles. Out of the two, I'd say I enjoyed the Coconut more flavor-wise, but the Green tea was more refreshing. I took the advice of Yelpers and ordered less sugar and less ice because I heard they tend to overdo it with both, and I think everyone is right- had I left it with full sugar, it would have been way too sweet. Of course, it is cash only, which is why I'm giving them four instead of five stars. I rarely carry cash on me, so I have to take a special trip to the ATM anytime I want some bubble tea, which is annoying. Before coming to New York, I'd only had bubble tea once or twice so I don't have a lot to compare it to, but I think the bubbles are great. Soft and chewy and slightly sweet. I rarely eat all of them because by time I'm done with my tea I just don't want anymore, but they're great! Hit or miss. I usually get the taro milk tea with bubbles here. Their bubbles are already sweetened so that's a plus for me. However, the drink itself is a hit or a miss. You never and I mean NEVER want to do 100% regular sugar on the taro. It will kill you. It's so overly sweet that you can literally feel the pimples and fat pants coming on in a matter of seconds. With that being said, I read once you can ask for ZERO percent sugar. I tried it once at the upper east side location and it was PERFECT. At this location, I got it once perfect and the second time I decided to use the little iPad and got 120% sugar level on it somehow even though the cup says ZERO. Still I'm desperate and hooked. Tried this place out for the first time. I was craving some hot bubble tea since it was a cold rainy day. I had a craving for almond milk tea, and was pleased to see it on the menu, but unfortunately they did not offer it hot. This was upsetting. I ordered a regular milk tea, hot. Went here maybe 10 times in the past 2 years to pick up my usual milk tea with nata jelly, and every time it takes at least 5 minutes to make even if it's not crowded. For reference, other Kung Fu Teas I've been to like the ones in the city take about 1-2 minutes to make. The tea itself tastes pretty good, although this place gives extra ice even if you ask for less (about 90% of the cup is ice). I love their sugar options - Full, 50% 30% or none i believe. While the full sugar taste the best, 30% satisfies my craving without the guilt. Their service is not as quick as other bubble tea spots, always have a wait no matter what time I come. It's about 5 minutes, but not in and out like others. The milk tea has a distinct taste that comes from the sweetener agent they use. Some say KungFu Tea is not made from powder, therefore healthier. I already had some in a food court earlier in the day. Before I left Flushing for the night, I saw this "Kung Fu" sign across from the parking ramp. I decided to walk over hoping it was another location of Kung Fu Tea. Luckily I did, it was a Kung Fu tea! The flavor of kung fu milk tea is pretty good, but it's not my favorite as the sour taste in the creamer just tastes weird to me. Without the creamer or the milk, I do prefer having sour elements in my tea. I think I'm in love with the winter gourd lemonade green tea. It's sweet and a decent hint of sour. It's almost like amaretto sour without the booze. Their tapioca or boba was also perfectly cooked with fructose, so they release the extra sweet juice as you chew on them. Since the fructose is cooked all the way into the starch, the longer you chew, the sweeter they get. I was craving tea so bad, so I came here with a friend. I got the regular milk tea w/ boba (tapioca? pearls? whatever you call it), and it was so... POWDERY. Literally, they use powder to mix their drinks, but obviously they didn't mix it thoroughly. It left a powdery feel on my tongue, which was pretty nasty. Also, it was too sweet. If I had known, I would've told them to shake my drink for 1-2 min. longer & to add less sugar. It satisfied my cravings, but I should've gone to Quickly's or Chatime, which are also in Flushing. read more

TERRIBLE customer service! My girlfriend and I went there today to get tea. The cashier was extremely rude and very impatient when we were ordering. There was no one behind us at that time. He rushed us into ordering and we barely had time to make up our mind. Within moments of ordering we asked for less sugar instead of regular and the guy wouldn't change it for us. Without even looking us in the eye he just said no. We had a very high expectation going to this place, but this terrible customer service ruined our experience and we will never go back here again. read more
