Select Home Improvements sent out Noah Reeve, marketing manager, to explain the process of how the energy program works. He got us a BIG REBATE towards the replacement of our new Anlin windows. As a 77-year-old married couple, we felt so comfortable about trusting Noah and Select Home Improvements with this Investment on our home. Everything looks great and we are saving money on our PG&E Bills with our new dual-pane energy-efficient Anlin Delmar Series window & Malibu doors. The best part of this entire project is the Sliding Glass Doors, which come with a BUILT-IN pet door for our dog to go in and out without bothering me all day long. :-) We love the temperature swing differences that they made immediately, the sound reduction difference inside the house made such a huge difference, and the ease of operation on the windows and doors is awesome. We highly recommend Select Home Improvements. The installation crew alex and eli came out to do the install on our 11 windows & 3 sliding glass doors, and they finished in just 2 days. Avoid these guys at all costs. Predatory sales/lending at it's finest. The sales man, Austin, was rude. He never closed the screen behind him when he came in my home. He was condescending, he kept pushing to know how I planned to pay for the windows and he implied the PACE program was only for people with bad credit, which isn't my reason at all for considering that financing option. At the end of his spiel he asked me "so did you learn anything about windows today?" As if his half-a**ed, idiot commentary was too great for my pea brain to comprehend. And to top it all off he quoted me basically 40k for nine windows. He wanted to come in and do a simple retrofit with white sliders. I told him I wanted new construction as the windows are from 1953 and there's cracking and leaking around them currently. There's definitely dry rot in some spots, yet he wanted to breeze in and cut corners to save money. He also didn't include the disposable fees for my old windows or permit costs. Shady a** mofos. And just in case the company wants to deny any of this, I have it all on surveillance video with the agent being made fully aware that it was recording. Shame on these guys! Oh! Jay came to my house and showed me the Anlin windows. Beautiful, well insulated, excellent warranty, smooth and easy to open with built in safety locks, high quality. Jay was polite and not a pushy salesman, the windows sold themselves. I replaced all my windows and a sliding door with a built in doggie door! All 12 windows were installed in one day! The installers were polite and very conscious of cleaning up after themselves. Bill, the project manager came out the next week and inspected each window to make sure the installation was done properly. I highly recommend this company! They really take pride in their work. This review is about their sales process. I was requested to write a review in order to qualify for certain discounts and/or a special promotional rate. I was contacted out of the blue by SHI. Usually, I don't take those kinds of calls, but I had been considering replacing my windows for some time. I had a total of 14 replacements: 9 windows, 3 sliding doors and two garden windows. Kudos to them for throwing out darts. Jay was my first in person contact. He was professional, on time and he did a presentation about Anlin windows which I appreciated. Then it went downhill, he went into a bs spiel about qualifying for 10 discounts. Be careful what you ask for. I'm a sales rep and hate it when reps do crap like that. Just tell me the price. Jay wrote down some figures on a binder paper and that was his bid. Not so professional after all, because he's just the set-up man for Noah. After I told Jay I was still shopping he wouldn't even leave his scribbles behind. The day after I get a call from the office making some excuse for Jay and that I really should have Noah come out because he's got a special neighborhood promotion to offer. Noah is sharp, professional, he also remeasured, talked about designs and had an offer about 20 - 25% better than Jay's. I actually signed up because Noah's quote was in line with two others I had talked to. Then lightning struck and another company out of Sac called me out of the blue. I must have done some Google search, and he promised me a better deal, no nonsense, no bs. Fortunately, there is a three day rescind clause. They came in 40% less than Select. I was cold called by Select HI and got a sales demo. I ended up signing a contract for 9 new Anlin windows in my home. There was a sales tactic to offer substantial discount if I signed the contract that day, else, the cost would go up. So, I signed, paid $100 deposit and completed loan application for the job. Two weeks later, I got a lower cost quote from a well established local contractor I preferred for Simonton windows. I called the Select H.I. main office and talked to the contract manager. I explained my desire to cancel the contract. Since my windows had not been ordered, he allowed me to get out of my contract even though the cancellation time window had passed. He even refunded my $100 deposit. The contract manager was very reasonable and professional. read more

The front windows provide sound suppression , and I know my heating bills will be much lower as the sun beats in there all summer long, and look terrific. When I didn't agree to sign up for services the consultant asked if he could see my personal home budget to find funds for the monthly payments. When I declined he continued to pressure by explaining how (in some very complicated way) we can refi our home in order to pay off financing new windows. Fortunately, we were able to shut down the conversation by promising to make a decision within the next 48 hours. I didn't appreciate the pressure tactics and i certainly don't appreciate continuing to receive sales calls from people posing to work in other business areas within select homes. I live in the "historic" district in Napa, and had lovely wood grid windows. However, they were the original windows from 1948 (single pane, with ropes & weights to help them go up and down). That said, my PG&E bills were getting out of hand. I was contacted by Select Home Improvements, and they sent Noah to show me new windows (Anlin Del Mar Series) that were super energy efficient and improved sound proofing (I live on a busy street). When we first requested to meet with the sales rep, we were very hesitant - Noah Reeve (the sales rep from Fairfield) was very low key and we became comfortable doing business with him. I just had 20 windows & 1 French door installed by the Fairfield team on Wednesday 4/17. The work was scheduled for 2 days possible 3 if needed. I was gone at work all day and when I got home (my son was there helping to move stuff out of their way) they had the job completely done. I was so amazed!! Eli and his Team did a wonderful job!!!!!! I can't say enough good words about everyone I have deal with from this company!! Starting with Noah Reeve the sales person that first came to our home to show us their windows.To Dani in the office who scheduled our job. Sean Steele also came out when the crew first showed up to go over things with my son and then Eli & his "Awesome" crew!!!! I highly recommend this company to anyone & everyone that wants great quality windows. The price is a little more but you get what you pay for. They have a life time warrenty. I'm so excited to start having a cooler house in the summer and a warmer house in the winter. I have a two story home with vaulted ceilings. I have lived in it since it was new 28 years ago. The house is hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It will help greatly on my utility bill too. I chose the class that is slightly tinted and will keep all of the heat out. Their demonstration of the glass is amazing!! I also got privacy glass on a few windows and they are beautiful too. They have about 6 options to choose from. A few of my windows are the type that slide up and down. The new version of these that I chose are really neat because you can have them open at the top and bottom at the same time. I love this option!!! They are all secure and will be so easy to clean too. You just have to give them a call if you need windows to see Noah's demonstration. First off, these guys are not exactly local. All communication comes from Los Angeles. Windows are partially produced there too. This was a huge problem for me because they were not able to see the actual job. Yes, they had guys who represented them here but all interactions and decisions were done by phone to LA. My issue is that when the scaffolding company came to install, someone opened my slider and stole my Apple Watch in the bathroom. I quickly called mgmt in Los Angeles and he immediately defended the scaffolding company without instead of helping me! He said, the scaffolding is too far from your patio and it would be impossible for that to have happened. I took photos. The scaffolding was only 12 inches from my patio! I could actually touch it from my patio. They could have easily gotten in. This is a huge issue. Los Angeles could not see what I was talking about. They never offered a replacement. Took zero responsibility. I talked to another scaffolding company who were working on a condo just 3 doors down from my condo. I asked if they could climb over. He said yes. Their scaffolding was 28 inches from the patio! Then he showed me by demonstrating. SH has absolutely horrible customer service so be aware that they will not defend you if it happens to you! Also, I was told by their sales rep that I would get a commission for giving them the job. I even called LA and asked them. Nobody got back to me. Sales rep was on the ball to get the job but then after writing him twice about a commission check, etc. I got no response. Also, be prepared to get a house full of sawdust and drywall dust all across your rooms. I phoned LA after the job and complained. They agreed to pay for cleaning but why didn't they offer it up front? I had to chase them down. I suggested that they tell owners that this will occur BEFORE the job and that they would offer cleaning afterwards. Overall I don't trust these guys and will not recommend them to the two neighbors I had told the sales rep about, who are currently looking. read more

Too bad Yelp will not allow a zero-star review. My engagement with Select Home Improvements started with an unsolicited call in mid-March and ended with me canceling the contract today. The first appointment with Noah went okay and a pre-site inspection was done the following day on March 17th. The first installation appointment was scheduled for March 28th with work to begin between 8-9 AM. I changed my work schedule so I could work from home. At 9:03 AM the project manager, Bill Stein, called to tell me no installation would occur as planned as they did not have the equipment (really, you find out the day of the installation that you do not have the equipment?). After that waste of my time, it was crickets, not a single call from anyone at Select Home Improvements, until April 12th. Suddenly there was a push to agree to a new installation date from Michelle of April 14th. I did reluctantly agree, after a plea from Noah Reeve, (note that at no time since the screw up for the initial installation had I received a call from Noah and I was the one who called him) and the time for the start was set at 9 AM. Because of the short notice I had to take paid time off to be sure I was home. What a waste. No installation, again, and this time no one even bothered to call. Since I had the day off, I decided to review my contract with Select Home Improvements. I discovered they had violated their contract which states that, "...work will be substantially commenced within 10 working days..." Now I understand the push to get me to agree to the install on the 14th, it was working day 10 (it was actually longer but the contract showed an "APPROXIMATE STARTING DATE" of April 1st. Friday morning, April 15th, I got a voice message from Richard Kovach. There was a weak attempt to apologize and an offer to upgrade my HVAC from an 18 SEER rated system to a 20 SEER system at no additional cost because of their piss poor customer service. NOT A CHANCE! Why would I invest nearly $18,000 in an HVAC home improvement with a company that cannot even exhibit anything remotely resembling timely service and customer support. The system came with a ten-year warranty. What are the chances that Select Home Improvements would reliably support the warranty and service any issues in a timely and responsible manner? I decided not to find out. I understand there is a worldwide supply chain problem at this time. I work for a company that manufactures, sells, delivers & installs production printing solutions. We do not contact the customer for delivery and installation until ALL components are in the warehouse and ready to load in the truck. And if a problem develops, we actually call the customer in a timely manner. Now I get to wait and see if they actually return my $500 down payment. According to Richard Kovach, the accounting department would get the check out, "today." Forgive me for being highly skeptical. PS: As of today, May 6th, I am upgrading my review and adding a sincere thanks to both Richard Kovach, the Production Manager, and Ethan Sundilson, the Customer Service Manager, of Select Home Improvements. Richard was instrumental in returning my 500$ deposit in a timely manner and being sympathetic to my angst over the contacts I had with their Project Manager, Bill Stein, and the Senior Marketing Manager, Noah Reeve. Ethan took the effort to mend the damage even further. After speaking and reviewing the sequence of events and lack of communication from the field staff entrusted to take care of their customers, Ethan went above and beyond in really making sure Select Home Improvements made amends beyond words and being sympathetic. Select Home Improvements, through the efforts of Ethan, reimbursed me for the money spent taking time off for the second appointment that never materialized and then, just to make sure I knew the treatment I received was not typical, also sent along a couple of vouchers for a nice dinner at a nearby steak house. Had I benefited from their actions and attention to customer service earlier in this process, I would be enjoying a Select Home Improvements installed HVAC all-electric system. For anyone who is looking for home improvements, I recommend promptly reaching out to Richard or Ethan if you encounter any issues. They definitely represent the interests of their employer and, more importantly, the satisfaction of their customers. read more

I went through Select Home Improvements for window replacements. Noah Reeves came out to my condo to assess and give me a quote. He was friendly, easy going and thorough while demonstrating the pros of Anlin windows. He even helped me fill out my HOA application so that the window replacement would be approved immediately! He answered all of my questions and concerns thoroughly and I'm glad I went with Select Home Improvements. The installation was quick, taking only one day. While the installers were installing, they noticed one of the screens had a cut through it. He said he would notate that and reorder the screen and come back out to replace it. The next day, I received a call from Richard, a Select Home Improvement service manager, and he asked if he could send someone out to re-screen the screen instead of replace it, as replacing it would have taken a lot longer. He sent somebody the same day and made sure to accommodate my work schedule. The person who came to re-screen, Eron Macias, was efficient and very quick. I had this company do HVAC and windows. But they need better communication and professionalism. The HVAC did not pass inspection and as of today the reinspection cannot be scheduled due to the rain. The "contractors" are from 2 hours away and nobody checks their work. I had issues with both the HVAC crew and the window crew. I'm still waiting for a screen replacement on one of the windows. The financial company is long distance in Oregon. I certainly had a different experience than some of these glowing reviews. I will be glad when I am finished with this company. Worst company i have ever encountered. Called me off the hook for a quote so i finally agreed which they cancelled without reschedule. When they finally called back three months later they promised me the appointment would be an hour and a half the guy came gave me a card told me I should put an escrow on my house in order to pay for roof repairs I told him I would never do that because I don't think that's good for your credit he promised me a quote by email and never sent it I called and complained to the secretary you answered the 800 number she told me that she would talk to Joe personally herself but that I could also speak to the manager she then called me back and told me that Joe said he wouldn't give me a quote because I thought a roof was only 10 K I never said that I told her it doesn't matter what he said I want to speak to the manager and she said no I'm not gonna schedule a quote nobody's going to spend an hour with you I'm gonna tell you over the phone the quote and it's 30 to 40,000 and I said OK can you come back and write that down for me and show me some shingles and she said that's not the way it works I'm gonna tell you over the phone the only reason why someone would come back and spend that hour with you as if you're going to sign the contract or you gonna sign the contract she argued with me you're not gonna sign the contract I'm not sending anyone to help you and I told her I'm going to report her to the better Better Business Bureau because I am a customer who deserves an hour quote for my roof The appointment was supposed to take an hour I was supposed to be shown shingles he was supposed to give me the quote on the spot written in his writing and he didn't do any of that and she backed him up and wouldn't let me talk to the manager about their horrible customer service and they judged me because they thought I couldn't afford a roof and he lied and said I said I couldn't afford a roof by saying I thought a roof was only 10,000 so if I were you guys I would go somewhere else this places a joke and they treat people really mean read more
