Sean Shannon (aka: FiTrain) has been my trainer for a couple years now. I started my fitness journey about 5 years ago and decided to get a personal trainer 4 years ago. My goal initially was to just feel comfortable on gym equipment and have some sort of knowledge to put together a workout on my own. I figured a year of training and I'd be done! Now being without a trainer (specifically Sean), is hard to think about! Sean is my third and favorite of the trainers that I've had. I actually went to cancel my training at Eos, when the head trainer there recommended that I try Sean (who was new to the gym) before I officially cancel. I'm so glad he did! Sean's knowledge of not only fitness, but nutrition is hard to beat in a trainer. He has extensive background in the science behind fitness and nutrition. As a nurse, I like to know why certain things are done and recommended. Sean has always been able to explain to me the science behind why we do the things we do. He has taught me the proper way to do things and has pushed me beyond what I ever thought was possible. He even is great at adjusting workouts when needed. Earlier this year I broke my wrist and he was able to help me work around my injury. In addition to physical therapy, training with Sean definitely helped rehab my wrist faster than otherwise would have been possible! Now that I'm pregnant, Sean is again adjusting my workouts to be safe for me and the baby and is cautious with Doctor's orders! I know that after I have this baby, my journey back to being fit will be easier with Sean involved! Sean is also a pretty awesome package deal! His wife Edel (aka: BikiniBuff) has been an awesome double support along the way! She's even taken me grocery shopping and taught me (more than I thought was possible) about nutrition labels and how to plan out my macros. They are both a text message away when I need advice on how to meet my macros for the day. Edel is the BEST when I need recipe idea for food or when I'm craving something sweet, but don't want to ruin my diet! I moved 45 minutes away from the area 6 months ago and continue to commute to train with Sean. He's worth every minute of the drive!! One and one half months ago I knew that something in my life had to change. My BPM was resting at about one hundred, I would get tired Climbing one story of stairs, and I was living out of the drive thru. I felt with a modicum of certainty, that I would double cheeseburger my way into an oversized coffin. I am thirty-three years old, and have the motivation and drive of a dead tree in a bog. Which is why in a brief moment of clarity I reached out to Dom Morrison. After I explained my situation, he calmly and concisely made a regime of exercise and a nutrition plan. He stated that while I had done damage to my body, it was repairable. I half believed him. But not being one for half measures, I took the dive. I started the regiment and cleaned out my pantry. I then spent the next month complaining about the food, the work, and the overall despair of not being able to eat a pizza. Dom, being the "compassionate" man he is, told me to kick rocks. He explained to me that I could eat the pizza, and I didn't have to put in any time in the gym. He reminded me that I wanted to. On multiple occasions he reminded me that this was optional, and that it was the option I chose. He was there when I was feeling like it wasn't enough, he reached out to check on me, he motivated me when I wanted to quit. He didn't pull me up, but he sure held out his hand so I could grab on and yank myself out of the god forsaken mess I made my life into. One and one half months ago. I waited this long to write this review because I wanted to have something to review. I legitimately Believe Dom saved my life. I weighed in at two hundred and Thirty-five pounds when I started, and had a thirty percent fat BMI. Now, I weigh two hundred and twenty-one pounds, and my BMI is twenty-seven percent fat. I started as most of us ladies would, in the hopes of getting the perfect body. My trainer is Jose Lopez, I've been training with him for about a year now. Like I said before I started at the lowest not knowing anything about machines, how to work out or even eat properly. The first sessions were about learning my body and what I wanted to enhance or lose inches on. For me personally I am naturally very slim but I wanted to get a more define body structure, meaning my arms, back, legs, and abs pretty much my whole body. Jose was and still is very attentive in my wants and i feel like that is very important in a trainer, he explains thoroughly everything before we move forward to anything else. Such as why switching our work out routines and meal plans will benefit me. The work outs are an hour long, it may seem like it's not much time but it's more than enough! He will kill you! (Not literally) in a work out sense. So make sure you are eating properly throughout the day so you have energy for your work out. I always leave with a feeling of accomplishment because the trainings are so intense it makes me feel like I'm getting stronger each time and I have! I started with the 20lb bar with my squats and now I can squat 50lb it's a slow transition but it's best doing it slowly and the right way. I cannot stress enough how important it is to do workouts the right way, I see people wobbling through their squats not properly doing them and I fear they'll get hurt. I'm thankful I seeked a trainer to teach me how to properly do work outs so that I don't hurt myself. My sessions are twice a week for an hour. The rest of the days I go to the gym by myself and do the homework he gives me. Thanks again Jose I'm seeing the results that I've wanted for so long! I have 2 high school boys who play football and volleyball. I was looking for something different for them to try, outside of their normal school/sports workouts.Through a mutual friend, I cam across Joe Roman, a personal trainer who works out of Self Made in Murrieta. My boys have been working out with him for a little almost 3 months now, and I can definitely see the gains they have made in the short time they have been there. I have seen gains in not only their muscular development, but also in their explosiveness on the court (we are currently in volleyball season). Being a former football player/athlete himself, Joe understands what it takes to compete at a high level. He pushes my boys in the gym, as well as outside with agility exercises. When they come home after workouts, they are spent, and struggle to get up the stairs. But I know, and they know, that what Joe puts them through is well worth the struggle. They understand the sacrifices you have to make in order to be great, and Joe makes sure he gets them most out of them every single workout! What I also like about Joe, is that he works around the boys football/volleyball workout schedules, so they aren't over training. He mixes it up and adds some variety to the workouts. I have been training with Brittney Reyna since 2020, and it's been the best decision I've ever made. Brittney has gone above and beyond with educating me with my nutrition and keeping muscle on. Before training with Brittney, it was never an issue going to the gym but I was struggling with gaining weight and increasing my muscle mass. Brittney helped me realize that I actually wasn't eating the correct amount of protein and calories and was doing an excessive amount of cardio than weight lifting. Hands Down the best experience I've ever had with fitness. I turned 41 this year and had gained 35-40lbs in the last 1.5yrs. My fitness regime from my younger days was not cutting it and I can admit my confidence level was not where it was in regards to fitness. Knowing where to start over and how was the issue. Reign Athletics & Self Made Training Facility have completely changed my expectations having a personal trainer. I have had trainers at Eos fitness & L.A. fitness and I will never go back to either places or any local gyms for that matter. As a MMA fighter I need to keep my body fat percentage down while keeping my muscle but most importantly staying around 185lbs so I don't die during weight cutts. Joe Roman III is amazing dedicated and inspiring!!! He is the best trainer I have ever been around. He pushes you for results but at the same time explains what he is doing. He explains what muscles we are working and where you should feel it. When working out he makes sure your comfortable doing the workouts. He makes sure your not going to hurt yourself. He is very knowledgeable about supplements and his recommendations are top notch. I recently had Joe fly to Dallas where we first went to get the proper workout accessories and went to the supplement store where he was able to recommend several different supplements that my wife and I needed to be taking. He stayed in town 3 days to make sure he showed us all body workout. I thought I was working out hard although I have seen results my way. I would be a lot further along if I would have found Joe at the beginning of my journey. If you are looking for a the best to be the best. I can only speak for my guy. I have been training at Self-Made for about a month now, and coming from someone who struggled to come out of her comfort zone and never wanted to get a trainer at the gym, I can say that coming here has changed the way I workout for the better. Ever since I've graduated high school three years ago I started taking bodybuilding to the next level. In the beginning I had no idea what I should be eating and what types of workouts I should be performing. Trying to do it by myself I felt a little discouraged because I wasn't seeing the results I wanted. The commitment was there but the knowledge of the sport wasn't. This facility is a great place for true fitness enthusiasts. The atmosphere is conducive to those who are looking to further their personal training goals. The equipment is varied and offers whatever you're looking for, be it free weights, machines or turf work. Depending on the trainer, you have the option of early or late workouts, whichever works best with your schedule. As a parent, I'm also appreciative of the youth workouts. My son works with Coach Devon and the growth I've seen is tremendous. For young athletes looking to expand their skill and repertoire in their respective sport, it is a great place for them. There's no other facility in the valley that compares to being able to workout at self made HQ. I started with a year and a half of training with a trainer both one on one and in small group. There was a slight unfortunate circumstance that occurred with our trainer. After trying to work out at other commercial gyms around the valley, I knew the VIP Pass Holder was the only option for me. Reaching out to inquire about the pass was such a great experience. Miguel went above and beyond having heard about what I had experienced. He calls it family and that's the way you're treated and still months later, is checking in to make sure everything is good. I met Derek Johnson back in 2018. I had lost my Mom to breast cancer and shortly after that I lost my husband to a motorcycle accident. I was in a really bad place and living wasn't high on my list. I decided I needed to do something about my mental health. Derek changed my life. When I started bodybuilding, I could feel the depression and anger leaving my mind and body. I trained with him 3 days a week. Derek trained me on bodybuilding, Powerlifting, Posing, and Nutrition. I am a full time Marine wife, full time mother, and have a full time job. All while my husband is deployed (Marine). I found out I have a hypothyroidism disease and been working with my Dr to get my numbers where they need to be.
