OK, after my adventure with a stylist named Eva last week, who gave me the worst haircut ever, and made my hair orange. I was contacted by Kimberly, and let me tell you, SHE IS AWESOME! Got in right away so that my hair could be corrected. I had a team effort, Rella, Kimberly and Lindsey. Love love love my hair now. These three know exactly what they are doing. Lindsey is amazing!!! She rescued my previous terribly done highlights 100%. I learned of her through a friend who also needed a similar service and Lindsey came to the rescue for her as well. Doing hair takes experience and TALENT, and she has quiet a bit of both. Not only is she professional and great at what she does, but she is also a great person, you can sense it in her energy. I am so happy I found this hair salon and Lindsey. The whole place just has such a great feel to it. It's quiet, calm, and CLEAN. Oh and don't forget affordable. Worse place ever!! They have no guest service. I went in sat in their waiting area for 10 minutes. All 5 of them saw me. Not one said hello or I'll be right with you. Three were with guest. One was on the phone and another one " fixing the magazines" Then she sat down at the front desk and got on her phone. Instead of helping me. What a joke! You have a business. Really disappointed, got my haircut and a color by Samantha and 4 days later after really looking carefully I saw how there was a lot of gray showing through and I just needed a little more of a cut. She asked me to send her pictures which I did then after several hours I asked what's up, did she forget me. She just says she's "done all she could anymore would just do more damage!" Samantha wasn't "fixing" it in the first place but she just says I'm not the right person for you so I get screwed out of $145 for merely asking her to do a little more than what she did initially. Extremely unprofessional, very disappointing! read more

Lindsey was great, can't say enough good things! She did my makeup and my hair for my wedding. My hair style included adding in extensions (an idea that was added 2 days before the wedding date, thank you for the suggestion for where to purchase these as well). The original very early appointment time also had to be made even earlier due to a change in the wedding start time. Each time I asked her to go above and beyond (please add 18" extensions, please come at 7:15 instead of 8:00 etc.) she stepped right in and took the challenge with a smile. Lindsey was a trooper ~ dodging the crazy congested traffic of Old Sacramento. The wedding was the same morning as the AmGen Bike race and the Sac State commencement, and both of these other events happening in a 1-mile radius of where she needed to meet me adding 1,000's of extra cars in the area. Lindsey stayed cool and calm under the pressure of completing this all in a hotel room without the normal comforts of being at her salon station at Aspire. All the while the photographer, friends and family were snapping pictures and looking on. Talk about pressure ~ thank you for going the extra mile for me Lindsey! You made me feel fabulous and beautiful, I felt like a Hollywood movie star. read more

Never come here. I went here to get my hair dyed and cut, and this was told prior before I came in. I went in and they never told me they couldn't dye my hair. Ricardo was my hair stylist (he was nice) , but he botched my hair so badly and I had to go somewhere else to get it redone. They told me they couldn't dye my hair AFTER they had already cut it so I had to end up paying for a cut I didn't even want since I couldn't dye it, AND they didn't style it or anything , so it looked terrible whilst walking out. This is an amazing salon! It's tastefully decorated and the staff is friendly. Lisa is attentive and a great conversationalist without being pushy on products/style choices. She understood what I wanted out of my hair both short term and long term and showed me how to style it (as I haven't had longer hair in a few years and I need to relearn how to do it) without making me feel dumb for having forgotten. I was blessed to find this place. It happens to be right next to my gym, so I wandered in one day and made an appointment with Rella. Little did I know, I would be getting the best haircut of my life! My hair was long, one length and a nondescript brown, which I would always wear in a ponytail. So, I told Rella that I would like an A-line, but not too short in the back. I told her to choose whatever highlights that she thinks would look good. Wow, little did I know she would change my life. Every person I know was blown away on how amazing my hair looked. They said it made me look younger. Rella is a miracle worker and so skilled at what she does. I have never used Yelp but I had such a bad experience I felt it my duty to warn others. I saw Simone & she lied to me. I went to a salon for a professional. All I wanted & asked for was a spot perm with large rods as parts of my hair were very straight. Simone recommended a spiral perm, all over my head with small rods (because that is all she had) she promised me that the curl would be loose. Instead she kinked my hair. It looks like a fried Afro! I was clear & honest about what I wanted but she gave me a rush job & sent me out with FRIED wet hair. My hair was long. So far I have had to cut 3 inches & to be honest I want to shave my head. Finding a good hair dresser can be one of the hardest things a girl has to find in life, thats why when we do we usually end up staying with them for years and years. That said, Brooke at Aspire has been my hair dresser for at least 5-6 years and it shows! I actually live in Chicago but whenever my boyfriend & I visit his sister (she introduced us to the Aspire crew ) we actually wait to get to CA for haircuts. Kimberly does an amazing job. My boyfriend's sister got married last November so I got to spend a lot of time at the salon with all the family needing haircuts, coloring & styling. I really got to see how the ladies interact with their customers. So friendly. Every customer seemed to be a regular. The ladies really seemed genuine when asking customers how their families were etc. The prices are very reasonable. I wish we had a place this great in Chicago. read more

Had my hair colored here. Friendly stylist and she did a great job, but I will not be back because of the excessive price. Normally, worst case scenario, for color AND cut runs $120. My hair is shoulder length and I had all over color done. For color only, NO haircut, she charged $135! That's completly unreasonable...We aren't in Beverly Hills. Be sure to talk pricing before you get your hair done here. Lesson learned. read more

I went there for the first time last week. Rella did a great job and was so friendly!

I was really proud of my long hair. I asked for a Split End cut. We agreed on cutting 2 inches off. I explained to the lady more than once what I wanted. I even told her that I want to keep my hair long. I don't know why I ended up with a totally different Hair Cut and about 6 inches off. I am more than UPSET. Sitting at home crying. I really don't know what to do with this Hair Cut. She was nice, but she didn't listen at all. read more

I was looking around for a haircut place that didn't utilized the "formula" cut method for a man's haircut (think Sports Clip, Supercuts, etc where everyone's cut appears to look the same) and ran across Aspire. I was fortunate to catch Rella with an open time on the day I called. She listened as I explained how I would like my hair cut and, unbelievable as the world knows, a stylist who actually listens and delivers is a godsend; usually you tell them to cut a inch or two (bizzzz in one ear and out the other) and whack, you just lost 4 to 6 inches, a buzz cut up the sides (nothing against that style if you are into it but not good if not). Rella was pleasant, efficient and attentive; keeping me in the process, ensuring that she understood what I wanted. The price for a shampoo and cut was $25 (little more than the "Formula Whackers") but not much. TG I found a place that I can hang with and I have been back several times and totally happy each time. Rella is my "go to" stylist and BFF going forward. I strongly recommend Aspire and from my observations all the stylist are keeping their clients happy so if Rella's not available the others have you covered!! read more

Visited for the first time over the weekend and I love the shop, the designs and my hair looks fantastic.

I am very happy with today's experience at this salon. Mariah took great care of me. I love my highlights and my haircut! The atmosphere here is relaxing. All of the stylists were nice and very professional. The owner made sure to ask me at the front desk if I was happy with the service I received, which shows she genuinely cares about the customers.
