In a 4 day trip, we made it here twice for Brunch. The vibes are happening, the bartenders are super cool and the food is great. Inventive menu with a twists on the standards. Just try it

    Not good fries

Food was again terrible and expensive service is slow and servers are lost. I would order doordash or ubereats before I go this place again.

We visited Semilla Kitchen & Bar on our first day in San Juan, and it was the perfect way to kick off our trip. We were staying at the Condado Palm Inn and wanted somewhere walkable, and this place absolutely delivered. The bar area is super trendy and colorful, with bright flowers lining the bar that make the whole space feel lively and inviting. Such a fun vibe right away. Our waitress, Femarie , was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The drinks were ice cold, well poured, and delicious, which is exactly what you want in that Puerto Rico heat. House margaritas for the win! For food, I ordered the club sandwich with fries, and everything tasted fresh and made to order. C got the burger, cooked to perfection. We really loved the local feel here. It didn't feel touristy, just a great neighborhood spot with good energy, great service, and tasty food. Definitely recommend Semilla if you're in the Condado Beach area and looking for a solid place for a light lunch or drinks. Would absolutely go back!

I thought their food and drinks were just okay. We did have a really big group, but we had the same size group at other restaurants and did not have to wait nearly as long for food and drinks. I ordered the crab benedict and one of their classic cocktails and didn't really like either. The crab benedict definitely needed some tomato or some acidity. The portion sizes are good, however!

I visited Semilla towards the end of the night. The place was very cozy and quiet inside. Their food menu is limited but I think they specialize more in their cocktails and brunches. The servers were kind and attentive. I tried their honey Asian wings and tuna tar tar tostones. The wings were amazing but the tartare seemed a bit bland and not really tartare. I also tried their pork tenderloin which was quite tasty. (That and the burger would be my top picks of their dinner menu) What really amazed me was their dark chocolate monkey cocktail. Overall, I feel like this place is slightly touristy and tailored to tourists. Their food is good but I feel like their brunch food would be better. If you're looking for authentic Puerto Rican cuisine maybe try somewhere else, but If you're looking for a place to get some cocktails, definitely check semilla out.

HOW DOES THIS PLACE ONLY HAVE 246 in 8yrs?!?! This place NEEDS a few Michelin stars! I had the dates w/bacon ($12) and the ahi Tostones ($14) & OMG I added the guava salsa and HOLY COW BEST EVER - and reasonably priced If I ever come back, this will be in my MUST stop list. All wait staff were friendly & accommodating and the inside is very cute and modern.

I arrived at 5pm on a Friday and it was empty. The bartender greeted me. I don't like to go to packed places. So it suited me. Restaurants in this area start to fill up after 7pm. This place is located off a street from Ashford. In the Condado area of PR. So you might not see it unless you search. Menu has Italian dishes and seafood plates. I have attached the QR code in the pics. I ordered a chicken Carbonara. This plate elevated my spirits along with the Dark Chocolate Monkey drink. I left satisfied. Ambience was a casual vibe.

Forgot to post this back in November 2024! My family and I came to visit PR, and we were walking around and came here for brunch. We had a bit of a wait which was expected because we were a large group of 9. The place is very clean and small. Lots of great drink and food options. My husband got a mocha which he really enjoyed. He also ordered Semilla Benedict (eggs Benedict) and I ordered the Versos De Cervantes. My husband loved his meal. Inhaled it all. I really enjoyed mine. It was a bed of mixed meat and potatoes and a egg on top with a super crispy buttery piece of bread. I was able to get a bite of the chicken and waffles from my sister - the ones in our group who ordered this, waited the longest. But the flavor was delicious. 10/10!! Miss this place. Check them out!!! Mucha Gracias! Espero que más gente visite este lugar :)

Such a good brunch spot. The chicken and waffles was unique, with cheese and bacon in the waffle then chicken tenders on the side. Make sure to try their guava BBQ sauce; tastes more like a sweet and sour sauce but was a perfect pair with the chicken tenders. Great brunch spot to fuel up before a beach day!

I feel like I've been here before. I've definitely been to a restaurant in this building on a prior trip through San Juan, perhaps it was for brunch or coffee. Today it's a drink and turnovers/empanadas of sorts. Bourbon Sour, excellently crafted, right down tot the egg whites and garnish. Empanadas of sorts, outstanding! The ambiance is nice. The staff very friendly and helpful. It's worth seeking out, just a smooch off the beaten path.

Wait time after being sat was horrible. It's like everyone was served before us and the restaurant part wasn't even crowded. The food definitely wasn't even worth waiting hours for. Would not recommend.

AMAZING. definitely try the steak and eggs. They are to die for. The almond French toast was sweet no need for syrup but not overwhelming. Service was great, very welcoming and ambience is chill. Family friendly. Coffee was also great. Plan on coming back again !

Semilla Benedict and Tuna Tartare Tostones. Centered is the bacon dates.

What a Gem! It's been years since my return to Puerto Rico and a shame that reviews aren't being made, especially for this place. Semilla Kitchen & Bar deserves a Michelin star for their outstanding flavors and consistency. I enjoyed their brunch on back to back days because it was that impressive. The welcoming feeling of employees was warm and they were very attentive. The short walk from my hotel was as convenient as can be but if you're not staying close by, it's worth it to make the drive, taxi, or uber. The menu for brunch cocktails is not extensive but on point. The food menu provides exotic twists fusing various styles of flavor profiles. On a personal level, my wife and I characterize the best of the best food as "stupid". We've encountered 6 stupid foods in about 8 years and two were here. What wasn't stupid was "dumb"! lol. Come here and bring your friends to enjoy a great meal with great ambiance.

Kept seeing a bunch of reviews on how amazing this place was and honestly it's up there…read more To start off, I'm not really a sweets guy so my take is going to be a little off from the general public. We were able to snag a reservation but for a late time which was about an hour and a half before close. The service was super great but one thing I wished they mentioned that the bottled water was going to be a $40 charge lol. Makes sense for any upscale restaurant though. Should've mentioned we wanted tap so fair warning, ask cause you WILL get charged haha. We had a group of 10 and for how big the group was, the food came out pretty fast. I don't think we ever had a time between drinks to entrees where we were waiting for food to come out. We got the watermelons mojito for drinks since it was the most raved about. It was good but personally nothing crazy for me. 8/10 score on that. We also curry popcorn chicken, the ahi tuna lollipops, the empanadillas and the goat cheese quesadillas for apps and honestly overall 9/10. This is where I don't like the sweetness part of this meal. The empanadillas were what I was most excited for but it was more sweet then savory which sort of lose my appetite a little. I think if you like that kind of taste then it's going to be good. It wasn't a bad taste at all. Just too sweet for my liking. The curry popcorn chicken was good and the lollipops were great. Again, nothing crazy. The goat cheese quesadillas was good as well but again, too sweet for my liking. Now on to the entree, they didn't have the porkchop since we came late so I ended up getting the porkchop belly dish. When it came out, it looked amazing but then I got a whiff of it and smelled cinnamon. That's when I was sort of disappointed. It was like eating pork but tasting Cinnamon Toast Crunch and as said before, it tasted great but too sweet for me. This one was way too sweet to where it seemed like a dessert item. I just had poor luck and got one of the one items that were sweet. This doesn't tank the rating down whatsoever because I also should've read it had cinnamon. It would've been great if they made a dipping sauce or something to pair it with and not have it on the pork belly itself. I got to try other dishes my friends got which were good as well but I wish I got to try something else. If I came back I would try the sold out item which was the pork shank or the sea bass. I know for a fact the sea bass was amazing. Had a bite of it and thought "I'll come back for that" Overall, 10/10 experience and nothing bad about the place but gotta try different items when I go next time. I understand the hype now

WOULD recommend (dinner). Stopped by during first night in Puerto Rico, we had a reservation around…read more9pm so we were able to see the festivities associated with La Placita. I suggest doing reservations at least 3 weeks in advanced if you want to time that you want especially during peak days like Fri, Sat, etc. When we came in, the staff were very hospitable to us. This establishment has was very intimate, well lit; upon entry the music was a bit loud but then became manageable for casual conversation. We saw a good amount of large parties as well so they have good reputation for celebratory outings. We started off with drinks, ordered the Paper Plane, was very sour but wasn't bad in my opinion (Rating: 7.1/10), but the Perfect Lady on the other hand, was amazing lavender goodness, I don't think I have had a bad lavender drink yet from any place I have had so glad they kept the train going (Rating: 9.0/10). Next, for appetizers we ordered the Empanadas, that have different flavors everyday. The day that we came, the flavor was BBQ pulled pork, which I personally absolutely loved. Crispy, not hard exterior, hot and fresh (Rating 8.8/10). For the entrees, we ordered the Tacos De Mero Empanados (Fish Tacos with Chipotle Coleslaw) and the Milanesa De Pollo. The fish tacos were definitely the best dish at the table, came with 3 tacos that had rich flavors, ordered from the "Daily Specials" section of the menu (Rating 8.4/10). Next, the Milanesa De Polla was a large, breaded chicken breast that was honestly good for multiple people, came with side of arugula and cherry tomatoes with light dressing (almost nonexistent to be honest). It came with a sauce on top, like an aioli that wasn't bad honestly. This dish was a good safe option if you aren't sure what to get (Rating 8.1/10). I wanted to originally order the Pastelon De Amarillos but they were out of stock of that dish during the visit. Overall, Santaella offers pretty extensive menu with foundations of a high quality restaurant. Their service during our visit was definitely top of the line, no complaints. I just wished they had more than 2 single use bathrooms as the line definitely added up which could pose an issue for guests with urinary urgency/frequency. Pricing also wasn't horrible, was able to get a full course dinner for 2 for under $150 so can't really complain, just check their menu before going if you want specifics. They also have Rooftop Sundays at Azotea for those who are interested in their alternative dining setting. This place was good nonetheless and I would recommend it, is right in between fine dining and casual making it good for those dressier date nights.

AMBIANCE You're in the city so it's an eventful area. There's street parking and nearby lots but your best to carpool or rideshare. As for the vibes, I'm told in the daytime it's a local marketplace that's filled with vendors and other fresh produce booths. It's pretty chill with a nice neighborhood feel. As for the evening, this is where to turn up and get a pulse of Puerto Rico parties. EXPERIENCE Go to your bar, pick your vibe from community, club excessive, lounge feel, live music or etc. Drink choices rangeThey have it here! Plenty of photo op spots and good energy. I was here peak of the #DTMF era so it was magical to see people come together with a speaker and a cowbell. A local put into perspective how this was way better than paying for an expensive hotel party. It was truly a 1 of 1 experience. TL;DR OVERALL 5 Stars. It doesn't get any better. There's a reason why this space is dropped in lyrics and people's recommendations because this is the heart of the people. So don't be shy! Grab a drink, walk around, catch a dance, and be safe! TIPS: * Don't just settle for one spot. Be sure to explore around to experience the entire Santurce experience!

Review #1,047 Posted on 4.26.26…read more We came to La Placita on Thursday the 23rd, when in town to celebrate my buddies 50th birthday. I guess this was purposefully done as I've heard it's nuts here on Fridays & Saturdays. When you get dropped off at the main road when you walk down it takes you to all the action in a few hundred feet. This place was still packed, but it was popping, the place to be at night I'd guess. They've got all JJ da of restaurants, bars, & clubs here. Tons of music, & a good time.
