Unfortunately we were there during the water crisis. No water for coffee and no bathrooms. So my review can't include what kind of coffee they make. They also opened 1 hr later than listed on their website. So we had to sit out in the sun to wait for them to open late. My sandwich was good. Nothing out of the ordinary though. We had bottled juice, which we could get anywhere.
Michael was truly incredible and so helpful with ordering. My breakfast was a 12/10 and so reasonably priced. I got the bandeja breakfast, it came with rice and beans, shredded pork, avocado, plantains and bacon. We also tried the stuffed cheesecake which was amazing!! I'm sad I found this place on the last leg of my trip. Don't skip the cilantro sauce! Love it here, great vibe!!
Great breakfast location! Also serves brunch, lunch and diner. Food was spectacular, fresh and served hot. Coffee is decorated with foam. Has bar and serves liquor and beer too. Service was amazing, greater like family and food brought out with smile. Thalia was amazing and she tended to all our needs. You can have an amazing view too, large doors and window seating. Highly recommend this location.
Sound for work stuff here for Sunday brunch. The food is absolutely delicious. I had the chicken trifungo with the mamposteao rice it was absolutely delicious. Great space very nice casual vibe open air. Our Bartender Jorge and his partner Nikki were amazing. When I'm back in Puerto Rico, I will definitely come back here. Be patient there is usually a wait to get in, but it is worth the wait.
Perfect place for brunch when visiting Old San Juan. We were seated in this cozy corner with a window overlooking the park. We ordered the fish tacos, veggie omelette & soursop mimosas. Everything was so good & flavorful. Customer service was standard. They were busy as expected. Start your day here when visiting Old San Juan
My boyfriend and I came across this brunch spot on our trip to PR and we still rave about how delish their food is! Service is top notch. All the employees make you feel welcome and are so friendly. It's a casual and relaxed spot. We actually went twice during our stay in PR and we can't wait to return!
Beautifully decorated inside, light & airy. Everyone is very friendly & polite. Drinks come fast, but food is a longer wait. Several seating options to choose from: bar area & a variety of tables in front, and then a smaller more secluded seating area in the back. We chose to sit at the back where it was more relaxing. Everything is clean. The passion fruit is fresh & delicious! After 45 mins of waiting for food we asked how long it would be. And then we were told there was no Avacado for one of our meals.. 45 mins is a long time to wait and say they are out of the main ingredient for a meal. Unfortunately the longer we waited for food and the wait for not telling us about one of the main ingredients for food and a table sitting down way after us getting their food 1st knocked the rating down from 5 to 3 stars.
Had brunch here. French toast was dry. Latte was delish, ordered a 2nd cup. However, only dine here if you're OK with being rushed. Was seated, and immediately asked for my drink order (by 2 separate servers in less than 5 mins). The answer was no, because I was still settling in/glancing the menu. Final straw that was a turn off was being asked to get up to the register to pay for the check. The server claimed this was the only way to pay. A lie, because other tables were able to pay on the mobile device brought their tables. This was simply a ploy to have me and my friend get up so that our table could be cleared for the next party. And this was on a Monday morning, can only imagine what the weekends are like. Will NOT be returning.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Such a cool experience. The staff is so nice. The bartender was great. We sat at the bar and We had the mayorca sandwich and avocado toast. Food is excellent. Place is clean and friendly. Great experience and highly recommend.

Our favorite place for breakfast on the island. We always sit at the bar. Best coffee in OSJ. Service is always excellent and food is always delicious!

Popped in during a cruise ship port visit. It was maybe a 15-20 min easy walk (bit of street incline) from the Carnival Jubilee port. We made a reservation in the morning when we docked in San Juan since I read they stay busy. Atmosphere: Upon arrival, there was a short wait for 2 of us. The eatery has inside seating however with 5 full length doors to the outside it feels like an open air kinda eatery. There's a large countertop eating bar in the middle of the restaurant & an additional eating area in the back, but overall it's a pretty small dining spot. Food: Tried to make a few alterations to my dish such as scramble the omlette instead of the traditional fold it & add an over easy egg to the sandwich. They said the kitchen is very particular about the presentation of the food so no "scrambled" omelette & the over easy egg had to be on the side in case the yolk popped on the sandwich before making it to the table. Ok! Veggie omlette was really flavorful. Full of diced veggies. The avocado I added was such a nice consistency. Yes it was ripe but I think it's a different variety of avocado than we tend to get in mainland US. With the omelette plate, I substituted french toast ($6 up charge) for the regular toast. The french toast was soft & fluffy. Very good. The dish also came with a generous portion of hand cut French fries. It would have been better if they were hot but they were still good. My husband got the Cuban sandwich & added an over easy egg & said the sweet plantain on the sandwich was unexpected & really made it quite good. Pricing: Price point may be considered moderate to moderately higher, but you're on holiday and the food & ambiance are good. Breakfast was $78 before tip for 2 entrees (with add ons), 2 specialty coffees, 1 juice & $4 for unlimited filtered water. All in all, it was a heck of a lot of food, tasty, and I left very satisfied. I definitely recommend it! read more

Upon entry, there was a wait, however, there was an option to leave your phone number with the host where they took the time to call when ready. There was a green rope to prevent crowding for those who wait. The restaurant was very nice, especially if you're lucky to sit by the window. We enjoyed our food selection overall, although it didn't blow us away. It was an on par place for an average brunch experience. The food was on the more expensive side. The meal was $60 for two meals, a side of French toast, and a $4 unlimited water charge. read more

They were out of the bacon and cheese croquettes (which they didn't let us know u til 15 minutes after placing our order) which was disappointing. We didn't see our server after we placed our food orders, My sisters got their food about 20 minutes before we got mine, still didn't see our server at that time so we waved down one of the cooks. We were charged twice for the "unlimited water". My sister got the Sous Vide Chicken which was phenomenal. It was three different types of mofongo stuffed with delicious chicken. The truffle fries with the cilantro aioli was delicious. read more

The staff were very friendly and lively. The food was delicious and tastes very fresh. There was one waiter who raised my spirits on my way out and as a tourist I really appreciate how at ease his attitude and spirits made me feel! La Caretta is the place to go for sure in Puerto Rico. read more

The food is delicious and the customer service is amazing. Every time I visit P.R. This is my go to spot for delicious food. I love the ambiance it is modern but with an old fashioned twist. It is in Old San Juan so you know that many of these places have beautifully maintained and historical buildings. This restaurant is one of them. So, if you're in town I highly recommend going. read more

I wanted to like this place. We ordered two simple things avocado toast and egg benedict and it took literally over an hour or more to serve us the food. And a few people had received their food way before us. We had to complain a few times to finally get the food. Once we did we were already upset about the experience and the only good thing was that the manager gave us a plate free for the wait and free drink. The food we ordered once it got to us was not even worth the wait. Super average. read more

The place is always packed but they are extremely quick to get you seated. Their vibes are also on point. They make you feel right at home. We went twice and both times were amazing! John was the best! He had us laughing the whole time! He has such a positive vibe to him. The food and drinks were delicious. read more

The food was excellent! I loved the Mallorca bread that we got as an appetizer. My veggie omelette was so yummy as well as the bread that came with it. The fries were a little too salty for me, but I was so full I could barely eat them anyway. Our server was great and attentive, however it took over an hour to get our food. We were so hungry by the time we got everything. The place was super cute inside. They had all the windows open and no a/c on so it was getting a bit hot in there midday. read more
