got a gift certificate from my husband to this place for $200.00 for Mothers Day. They use to be really good but that all changed the last two times I went there. The first time I made an appointment and had my 4 year old and didn't get waited on until 45 minutes after my appointment. The second time was today I had an 11:30 appointment they sat me down at the table it was 12:30 and no one came over to me. I got up and told them I was leaving they told me they could take me right now lol!! I still had money on the gift certificate but they refused to give me the money back because I wasn't coming back. Luckily a woman there bought it from me. How do you make someone who has an APPOINTMENT wait 45 minutes and then an hour. If I didn't say anything I would still be sitting there. Find somewhere else to go who actually acknowledges appointments or at least makes an effort! This is her husband and I don't care if you apologized. If you are short staffed then don't take appointments or cut back but you don't care about peoples time you just want to squish in as many people as possible. No one should sit there an hour over their appointment time but you overbook while being understaffed. God is watching you pal! read more

I really enjoy this place. They accept appointments and have always taken me at my appointment time (no delays). They do a great job on gel manicures and regular mani/pedis. My current gel mani is a week old and going strong. It's a calming environment - more spa-like than the nail places you'll find in Newbury St. So you can close your eyes and relax or read a book. They take time and care with the hand/foot massage which I find really enjoyable. And everyone is very friendly. I highly recommend. I go around the same time weekly and I've had a couple pedicures with Vanessa and a couple manicures with Jason - all excellent. Note - they do accept credit cards and you can tip on the card. But if you're like me and prefer to leave a cash tip, make sure to grab some on your way as there's no ATM anywhere in this shopping plaza. First time at Sen nails. I asked for a more natural looking acrylic set with a round shape. My nail technician told me it wouldn't look good and to go square. I told her I don't like the square shape and she said she would do square but more rounded on the edges for a softer look. I agreed but i felt really pressured to. My nail tech kept leaving to attend to other clients and had someone training do some of my nails but didn't even tell me or ask me. She answered her phone 4 separate times while I was there and didn't really talk or chat with me at all. As you can see in the picture, my nails are really squared and really long. Not what I asked for at all. They look nice, it just isn't what I wanted. I wish she was a bit more attentive to what I actually wanted. I felt rushed and like I was bothering them by being there. This salon is very clean and quiet which is really nice, however I went in to get Gel X removed from my nails. I have been getting gel x done for almost 2 years now and it is always been removed the same way, filed down with machine, wrap with foil/cotton ball then after soaking that way they are scraped off with the metal tool. I had to get them removed last minute today for something that came up and I had a completely different experience, the front desk staff asked me what is in my nails and I explained what it is and how it comes off (as she asked) and I get to the chair, the man doing my nails started to try to pop the gel x off with an acrylic tip and I made him aware it hurt. Another nail tech came over and started to use a cuticle cutter to cut/pull it off and that hurt as well, I asked her to please soak them as my nails are sensitive as it and I have one I recently hurt, she got mad. Overall, I had a bad experience.. if I wanted to be hurt I would have done it alone. Edit: I was also told gel x was just introduced to the market in April of 2021, but its been out since 2017 to the owners comment thats how I've been doing it for two years. :) read more

Soon did my nails and she was absolutely wonderful- meticulously detailed and took the time to really give me a relaxing leg massage. I will definitely be back- can't recommend this place enough! I've been getting mani/pedis every two weeks, year round, for the last 20 years....I feel qualified to give an accurate review of this place. I LOVED it! I'm new to the area and after trying a bunch of different places...my search is over! I found my new place. It seems to be brand new and super nice and clean...what's not to like about that? They actually cut the cuticle and scrub the dead skin off your your feet and their supplies are mostly one time use. The massage is better and longer than your average , and they use home made lavender sugar scrubs. Ok- I love OPI and Essie polish and as others have mentioned- they literally have every single new/hot/fresh color created and my mani lasted me a FULL 10 DAYS!!! Tony, the owner of Sen Nails has been doing my nails for about 4 years now. So when we lost touch and I found him again I was beyond excited! Tony and the staff at Sen are all very well trained. My nails always look great and sometimes my shellac will last 3 weeks. On the rare occasion where something has gone wrong with my nails, no questions are ever asked and Tony will fix them for me personally. There are an abundance of color choices, which I love. You need to be care full . My daughter went there on a Tuesday and got dip powder and 4 tips and a spider web on each hand paid 50.00. I went 3 days later got dip powder and a spider web on a nail on each hand and no tips they charged me 65.00. They are constantly raise the prices and sadly the nail technician That usually does my nail left and she is Amazing I had a different nail technician she did ok but wanted to charge me 65.00 for just dip powder and a spider web on a nail on each hand. Ridiculous!! Becareful they don't tell how they are charging more until they are finish with your nails. My daughter was sooo mad she called them they new they were wrong they gave me back 10.00 Reply backing : YOU called my daughter and asked her to ask me to take down the review because it would hurt your business . You are very rude and you can write what ever you want . My daughter got more work then I did and her nail were cheaper. The crazy think is you told me that you gave me a 5.00 discount so my nails were 70.00. Where do you pay 70.00 for dip powder on my own nails and one design on one finger on each hand it was only a spider web. My daughter had the same design just like I did but she had 3 tips put on she only paid 55.00. You then said your worker is the one who make their prices . I have been going here for a couple of months and I had down my nails with Jenny and she had down a GREAT job and many designs on my nails and Done acrylic and soft tip gel and I NEVER was charged 65.00 /70.00. I called and booked an appointment with them for a "Signature Manicure" at 1:30pm. I finished my shopping early at Trader Joe's so I headed over to my appointment and I arrived a bit early purposely because I do have gel polish on and I understand that I need to have them soaked before the service which I am okay with waiting until my time of service. I walked in around 12:45-12:47pm and told the receptionist that I have a 1:30 appointment and that I'm a bit early but it's okay I can have my nails soaked while I wait because I have gel polish on. She smiled but kind of brushed it off then tells me "yes for a gel pedicure" I corrected her and told her that it's for a "Signature Manicure" she looked confused but whatever. That was already a red flag with me but I still wanted to give them a try, maybe there was a misunderstanding over the phone? She then tells me to "pick a color" so I do that....and then another lady comes out and tells me to sit in the chair when I'm ready. I sat in her chair and immediately she takes out the drill!! I gasped! Because there is no need for a drill bit for a gel removal, I tell her that no I don't want that on my nails, she then tells me that she needs to rough them up a bit before she wraps them so I said okay but you can just use a nail file instead of a drill bit....that's a bit harsh and can pass through the gel polish and taking a layer of your natural nails off causing them to become thin. She then tells me "the drill bit and the nail file is the same thing" I informed her that it is not the same thing and is actually meant to use for different services, the only reason why she wanted to use the drill is because it's quicker. I don't like that, and you honestly don't even need to file the gel either but it does speed up the removal process as it allows the Acetone to penetrate through the gel polish. I allowed her to do it but just DO NOT pass through the gel polish and touch my natural nails. I can already see at that point she's upset that I wouldn't allow her to use the drill. She takes the nail file and files the top layer of the gel polish on my right hand and she did good because it didn't pass through the gel polish and touch my natural nail and then she wraps my nails with the soaked cotton with Acetone and foil. When she moved to my left hand she became really aggressive, so aggressive that she passed through the gel polish and is now filing down to the natural nails. I didn't say anything because at that point people were looking and I was feeling uncomfortable and a bit embarrassed as I didn't want to cause attention, even though I should of said something. She then goes ahead and wraps my left hand and as soon as she finishes wrapping them she immediately moves to my right hand and removes the foil and started to scrap off the gel polish with the cuticle pusher. She didn't allow enough time to let the product soak the gel polish off so I stopped her and told her that it is okay she doesn't need to do that just yet and that I still have half an hour left until my appointment and I can wait there is no rush. She disregarded everything I said to her and continues to aggressively scrapping the gel off. Now if you are not patient and allow enough time for the soak....the gel isn't going anywhere! Which then causing you to scrape even more so and can make the gel peel taking a layer of your natural nails off...again making them thin. I kept telling her to stop and she continues to proceed and she then tells me she needs to do this process a little at a time and that even if I waited for 30mins to soak off the gel the result would be the same. I reassured her that it will not if she allows the Acetone to do it's job it will be less work for her because the gel will literally melt right off, give it time. She is sitting there arguing with me and just blowing me off as if I did not know what I was talking about. I usually like to soak off the gel on my own before I get them done as I seen a lot of nail technicians pulling out the drill bit simply because they want things done quick and easy so they can move on to the next customer. This is completely wrong!! There is hardly ever any quality put into these types of services it's always "go wash" pay and get out. I just didn't see why she just couldn't let my nails soak while I wait for my actual appointment! Where's the harm in that?? Oh I know!! Because she wanted it done as quick as possible since I'm there, get it done and get it over with! I was so upset that I got up and ripped the foils off of my fingers and stormed out the salon! Never in my life have I ever done anything like that. I am a very easy customer, I am disgusted with this place and mortified!!! I felt disregarded and that my voice didn't matter which made me feel disrespected. I was more than fair but in return was treated poorly all because she just wanted things done quickly. THE BEST NAIL SALON! I happen to walk in one Saturday afternoon because I was in the shopping plaza, and I've been a loyal client ever since. The salon is Clean, I mean beyond just clean it is spotless. Everything is new and modern. The music is soothing and beyond that there is no noise, other than some light chit chat between nail tech and client. I think one of the most annoying things is when I'm getting a pedicure and a woman comes in on her phone and talks extremely loud the entire time, well that doesn't happen here. Fantastic place! Newly renovated and super modern. I love the decor (gave me some ideas for my apartment) and everything is so clean and professional. The staff here is always smiling and willing to help. I came here for a pedicure and loved my experience. I'm not from the Saugus area, but I definitely recommend this place; it's affordable but had the aesthetics of an expensive spa. I'm giving four stars only because my nail tech went too rough on my cuticles, and they were bleeding a bit when I left the salon and were irritated for the rest of the day.
