I went here to get my first free eyebrow wax. I'm sorry I was so unsatisfied with the results . They peeled the layer of skin off and I got a stye in my eye. I have never had a stye ever and I'm 32 years old . So it wasn't a coincidence. I went last week this is my face still one week later (picture attached) I have heard from management when I called and they didn't know how to handle this situation properly . I've been seeing Mikaela regularly for over 2 years now and I have to tell you she's incredible. I've recommended her to my friend who'd never brazilianed and she loves her too and goes regularly. She does my eyebrows too and is helping me to get them to grow in fuller after years of over waxing! She shapes them so they can grow a little fuller each time but keeps it looking clean!! I usually get my eyebrows waxed there all the time and there is usually no problem and i have very sensitive skin and i tell them that every time but this time on my left eye i got part of my skin ripped off. I thought it was a burn at first because my skin is very sensitive but as it settled you can see the part of the skin that got ripped off. I went back inside and they had nothing to give me except burn stuff but it wasn't burned. I also would have to pay for the burn stuff. overall don't go there. read more

This review is only based off my most recent visit. (7/16) with TRACY. I have been going to this location for almost 2 years and I always see NIKKI for my Brazilian under arms and eye browse. Well since management doesn't have half a brain they recently let Nikki go die to unfair and Shady circumstances. Anyways, on Saturday I went for my under arms wax and as soon as tracy put the wax on my arms I knew the wax was way too hot. OUCH. Incredibly painful and uncomfortable. Finally after she was done she started SCRUBBING my raw arm pits with an exfoliater to get the extra wax off. OMGOMGOMG. I've been waxing my under arms for 2 years. 4 days later and my arm pits are still red. I haven't worn deodorant for 3 days. I'm so sad Nikki no longer works there. And I know many are too. **I recomend Mikaela for a runner up. First time there last fall I got a bad Brazilian wax, which was fine, because the first one is free. And when I went home I realized that there was a lot of places that she missed. On a whim I decided to give it another chance and figured it was just the esthetician. Once again I was wrong. I even explained to the woman doing my wax this time, that I had been very disappointed at my last visit and that's why I did not return. She assured me she would take care of it. Upon getting home and examining myself it looks like I had my waxing two weeks ago not two hours ago! I know the air conditioner was broken in their establishment, and that they said the wax was having a hard time setting up. But if you cannot remove all the hair, then you should've not charge me full price, or went back and re-did it. Just experienced my first ever Bikini wax (full) at this European Wax Center. My aesthetician was Mikaela and she was WONDERFUL. Location: The salon is very clean and well maintained. The waiting area is small and has limited seating but it's not the end of the world. The receptionists were both kind and welcoming. Waxing Rooms: The rooms are small but comfortable. They're also very clean. Mikaela: I'm almost scared to tell folks how great she is from fear she'll be booked forever. But she was fantastic. I explained my fear and anxiety since it was my first time ever doing this. She walked me through the process and reassured me. She was so great to talk to and very gentle. She was such a professional and she was so thorough. I never in a million years thought I'd be interested in getting bikini waxes regularly, but Mikaela changed my mind. My eyebrows are a big deal for me. I used to go to Asian nail salons and they obliterated my eyebrows. I began going to Benefit brow bars. They do brow mapping and know what they're doing. You can't get better than Benefit. Upon moving to MA, there were no Benefit brow bars in my vicinity and my eyebrows were out of control. I decided to give European Wax Center a try. The facility itself is impressive, being reminiscent of a medieval castle. They also have products and packages that they push. Furthermore, first visits are free. I told the waxer about my history with poor eyebrow waxings and was very specific about what I wanted and didn't want. She basically did what she wanted. My eyebrows came out too far apart, different shapes and uneven. Months of eyebrow growth and progress down the toilet with one bad wax. On my way out, they asked me what I thought and if I wanted to buy a package. I told one of the women I was unhappy. She asked me "did you have hair there before?" and stated, "it's all in your head." Excuse me? She should have been asking me what she could do to make it right, not alluding to me being crazy. I will never go back. If you can't wax eyebrows, what business do you have doing Brazilians? I don't care how far I have to drive to go to Benefit! read more

Haven't had a bad experience yet. Very quick service. The wax that is used isn't like the typical ones found in most spas or salons. This is especially great if your getting the Brazilian, it's less painful. The girls are pretty friendly, putting you at ease, making that awkward situation more comfortable. You can also book appointments online. If you visit frequently I would recommend you buy the special package i.e., buy 9 and get 3 free. Totally worth it! Only reason it I didn't give them 5 stars is because they don't have a curtain or changing area in the rooms. Came here from out of town and I have been to other European Wax Centers before. I was wager to try this one. The girls at the front desk are extremely friendly and accommodating. Never did I feel that anyone was being overtly pushy or crabby about selling me the packages. I normally do not get my eyebrows and waxed and my waxer explained the 4 step process to me thoroughly and walked me through it. I was a little frightened at first, however, my waxer was amazing and I would definitely go back, She seemed very experienced and was adamant about making my eyebrows look perfect. She did it all in less than 10 minutes also. The atmosphere is amazing. It was calming and I felt relaxed, not nervous at all. This is definitely my favorite waxing place in the area. I had my first Brazilian wax today with Jess and it was a great first experience! I highly recommend Jess. She was knowledgeable and took the time to make sure my wax was thoroughly done. I asked her about any ingrown hair products and explained which one I was currently using and we discussed why the one I'm currently using may not be the best for me. Love it! It is by far the cleanest place in Boston. No double dipping with the wax. I also have watched the people that work there clean the table and the whole waxing area after even an eyebrow wax. I was running late for my appointment, and called ahead to let them know, and the receptionist managed to fit me in during a rush. I was incredibly impressed by the service and the cheerful demeanor, not the mention that it is just a higher quality than the places around. Also, when checking me out, they again prompt you to make another appointment in 4 weeks. More of a sales-based salon than others I've been to. As far as waxing, my esthetician, Alissa, was super friendly and I instantly felt comfortable. I liked her a lot, but the results left much to be desired. I have several spots on my upper legs with longer hairs that should have easily come out. I also got the "free" bikini wax. It was literally one strip on each side and THAT'S it. I am writing this review a two weeks after my waxing experience at European Wax Center. I was so happy to get a Brazilian done so fast and painlessly. But I knew it was too good to be true...especially for the price. A couple days after my wax I had bumps on my skin around the area. The hair also grew back extremely fast. I talked to my friend who is an Aesthetician. She tells me that the waxing was done too fast that the hair follicles only broke off, they weren't pulled out which was why the hair grew back after a week. The skin also becomes irritated if a waxing is done quickly which can cause bumps that look like whiteheads. Now the next waxing I get is going to be extremely painful because it's like the one here never happened. AND I have to exfoliate my ass for the next two months to get rid of these bumps. Everyone I met was very nice and they were not too hard a sell on the wax passes. However, my esthetician did not seem to know what she was doing! I walked out with quite a lot of hair remaining, even longer hairs that should have come out easily. The hard wax used at this chain was a godsend because with all the mistakes being made, this easily could have taken much longer and been FAR more painful with traditional wax. This is a good idea for a chain and the prices, atmosphere and method are right. But it all comes down to the skill of the esthetician and at this one, skill was seriously lacking. read more

New to the Boston area, so I had been looking for a new place to get my brows waxed. I came here because it was somewhat close to where I live and there was easy parking availability as well. I booked with Kelly (I believe) for a brow wax. I laid down on the table for the wax and I knew there was going to be an issue when she just started and didn't ask what I was looking for or grab me a mirror to show her exactly what I wanted done. This was pretty standard where I was going before even when they basically knew what I wanted- they always asked!! I was thrown off but figured welp maybe she's just that good and doesn't need to ask, but that unfortunately wasn't the case. When she was done and showed me i was thinking oh man what did I just do, but didn't say anything as there was really nothing that could be done at that point and I definitely didn't want her to try and fix them either. I hadn't had a wax in months due to moving and closures with covid etc so they were perfect for a great wax. They turned out uneven, one was wider than the other in spots and thinner in others and waaay too much taken off the top. I think the worst was the hair she took off the top, made it look terrible like I was missing parts of my eyebrow almost. Everyday I have to fill in my eyebrows which I never had to do before and I don't wear a lot of makeup so it's extremely annoying. Here I am over a month later and they still don't look right. The service was free since it was a first time visit, I still tipped her even tho I thought it looked bad because the service was free. I originally scheduled an appointment with someone else for a future wax, but cancelled because I just couldn't go back and let someone touch my browns from there and make them even worse. This place is horrible. They have zero customer service. I was stuck in traffic for an appointment. I called 10 minutes before my appointment, told them I was stuck in traffic and they said I had a 9 minute grace period to be late. I arrived 8 minutes late for my appointment and they gave my appointment out to another client. I spoke to the manger said I was 8 minutes late not 9 minutes late and the manger did nothing. Today was my 2nd visit and I really like this place. I asked if they could fit me in for a brow wax and at first she said it'd be 30 mins but they were actually able to take me immediately. My aesthetician was very friendly and quick, providing great results. I like that they use the hardening wax and not the wax + strips. I also wear gas permeable (read: HARD) contact lenses and they are careful to wax in a way that doesn't cause unnecessary discomfort (pressing on lids, etc.) I love that fact that, although I'm an admittedly hairy chick in the facial area, when i ask them to to my brows they just do my brows. They don't say "are you sure you don't want your lip done?" or "Wow, your chin could use some attention!". There are reasons I don't wax those areas - mainly because I break out everytime I do. I also love that check-out time isn't also "hey, let's try to sell you packages or products" time. I'll go back. read more

This is my preferred EWC location for a Brazilian wax. I have found that all of the estheticians at this location are extremely professional and excel at what they do. I live in the city, but if I have the day off, I will absolutely make the drive to Saugus to see someone at this location. The receptionists are a bit snobby but I just shake it off since the waxing services here are fantastic. I like to see Michelle when I come to this location. She is really sweet and every Brazilian wax I have had with her is quick, efficient and as painless as possible - I highly recommend her. I usually like to listen to music during the process to distract me, and she has no problem with that, which ends up making me a better client for her since I'm distracted! Recently moved from Brookline and left EWC in Coolidge Corner and decided to stop by EWC Saugus on my way home from work. I was happy to be able to use my package at all locations. Had my first wax with Mikaela today. She was friendly, but not thorough at all. It's bad enough that I need to return for a touch up. I will be making the drive back to Brookline in the future. I came here upon hearing of their "first client" brazilian waxing deal (around $21). They enter in your driver's license to ensure that you're really a first time client. The location's front waiting area is really sparkly clean/sterile like a fancy hospital. The front desk receptionist was nice, although slightly pushy about selling the packages on your way out. The tiny blond aesthetician was pleasant and conversed with you during the experience, but I would not agree that the waxing was perfect. There was definitely bits of hair remaining that you would only notice back in your car after you left the building because it was completely awkward to check yourself out after the waxing while the aesthetician is standing right there in the room with you. I will give props for the wax that they use. It is a melted wax that she never double-tipped. Plus she used strips of paper cloth to stick to the wax before the all-horror pull. Although she gave me a little sample of exfoliating soap, I won't be returning if I need to do-it-yourself when I get home. read more

First of all- if you do go here, ask for Lee-Ann.... She's quick, makes the most of your appointment, is a stickler for cleanliness, and makes every client feel as comfortable as can be!! Second (and just an amazing bonus) they use Hard Wax! SO SO much better than strip wax and Lee-Ann is a pro with it.
