Food marginal, service just okay, facilities/ambiance fair, price a bit much for the sum of the first three.

I have had dinner here twice and enjoyed their steaks, however I just had lunch here and ordered the rocky mountain oysters. They were an embarrassment to the bull and the kitchen! I have had and enjoyed RMO many times and like them, but these were an abomination. There was easily 4 time the bread coating than meat and the meat was much less than 1/8" thick - barely visible in many of the pieces. I believe they have purchase some frozen food item and just deep fry them. I wish I had juist sent them back to the kitchen. They were also way overcooked. It really should be pulled from the menu until they find a much better way to make them. Skip the lunches here, but do go for dinner. read more

It's been 84 years since I ordered. In the time I've lived at this barn-styled restaurant I've seen babies born, raised, fed, married, and left. I've seen families get burgers and wings, drinks refilled, and the elderly their AARP discount. I've grown new grey hairs and had an affair with the next table over about our lack of ice in our drinks. My food finally arrived, only an hour and a half after sitting down. My burger was ok- I ate it because I didn't know when I would next see my waitress. I didn't eat the roots- I mean the French fries. Even the French would disown those. Those bastards. Anyways, I'm still waiting for my check but if I die before then, please feed my cat. Not this food though. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE FOOD MAKES YOU SICK AND MORE! I KNOW THIS IS A LONG ONE BUT PLEASE READ. I'd leave no stars if I could. We went for dinner before heading to a concert at the Terry Bison Ranch and the service was terrible took around 20 minutes to get a menu and about 40 minutes to get even a waiter. You'd think that's the worst part but it's not, it gets worse. We all ordered steaks and they came out looking like charcoal and hard enough that the forks we were using bent. I personally ate two bites and couldn't eat anymore of the steak. I ate the vegetables (weren't very good but needed to eat something) and fries. The guys I went with had to cake the steak in tons of hot sauce, A1 and other sauces to make it somewhat edible. The guys did not eat the vegetables. The waiter didn't come back to check on us until she was giving us the bill where we told her that the food was not good. When we asked to speak with a manager the manager never showed up. Four people and the bill was $160 for practically non edible food. The guys had stomach problems and I was very sick a few hours after eating there and it lasted through the following day for me. Despite the bad reviews, we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed! Paige was amazing, and offered exceptional customer service. The fried mushrooms were perfectly cooked, and the dipping sauce was amazing. We had the chicken fried bison, and the meat was so lean, it melts in your mouth. I will definitely come back here. The staff was courteous and friendly, food tasted great, and it didn't take too long. read more

My food was absolutely abysmal. Paid $31.99 for literally the worst steak of my life. Love supporting local entrepreneurs who take a risk, and unfortunately this was a bad food experience. We will definitely come back to do the bison/farm activities, but I'll never eat here again. read more

I wish I would have read these reviews before going to Senators for dinner. Had lunch here yesterday. Split a Bison Burger with my husband. Serving was huge and great to share - taste was excellent. Came for dinner tonight. Really only dinner option was burgers or buffet. I opted for buffet. It was TERRIBLE! I complained to mgr(?) and staff but really nothing was done. No lettuce on salad bar buffet, covers were all off or a mess around salad toppings, girl next to me laughed about the fly in the cottage cheese( to mgr) saying something about being raised on a farm and this is normal!!! Yuck !!! No mashed potatoes , cold Roasted potatoes... I could go on and on. My husband cancelled his buffet order and asked for a burger. After about 30 Min, we asked our server to just make hubbys dinner to go. Really sad. This place has great potential and a captive audience (rv'rs) but they seriously need a manager that knows how to run a restaurant. Btw-manager did offer any compensation to help make our dinner right. Not that I was expecting anything. We are here for 3 more days and this place one get one more penny from me!! Our experience here was subpar to put it nicely... the only reason I'm giving two stars is because my kids ate and seemingly liked their dinners (kids burger & fries and kids nuggets & fries). My husband ordered the bison ribeye ($42) and I got the beef ribeye ($22). Our steaks were mixed up when they brought them out. For a $42 steak I would expect they would know which was which and serve it on the correct plate. The dinner was served with frozen steamed broccoli and carrot medley that was brown and looked as if it was microwaved for way too long... I didn't think either steak was worth writing home about. By the time we figured out we were eating each other's meals I had noticed the condiment caddy sitting on the table full of dirty A1 and Heinz 57 bottles with flies buzzing around them I was completely turned off. Not worth the $100 check and $20 tip... highway robbery. read more

Giving 1 star because I have to in order to leave a review. This place doesn't deserve any awards. They call their menu a'summer menu'. You have your choice of a burger or buffet. Buffet is WAY over priced and food is completely out. They don't restock, you can't even get you a salad unless you only want lettuce on a plate. Service was horrible. Looked like a manager walking around but wasn't helping to fill the buffet and certainly never walked yo the tables to ask the customers how they were doing or notice they couldn't even get any food. Burger and fries is $13. Add $5 for bison. Take away the bun and fries, add salad for $2. Yup. $20 for a bison patty and side salad. I didn't order. Hubs ordered a bison burger no cheese, with bacon and grilled jalapeños. It came out with cheese remnants bc they made it wrong and tried to pull the cheese off. ‍ When they brought it out again, the peppers weren't grilled. Went here this weekend for burgers and it was good. The one odd thing was that they were setting up for a wedding reception in the main dinning area so we were in this hallway with very little light. The burgers were good though and cooked to the temperatures we asked for. read more

The only options was the $30 buffet or burgers with $5.00 up charge for bison. Rolls were cold and hard as a rock. Buffet had 3 meats, 2 potatoes and corn. The bison short ribs were great and the cherry cobbler was cold but the waiter did offer to heat it up and he brought it back with a side of ice cream. I would NEVER go to this restaurant again, nor would I recommend it to anyone else! We took friends from Europe here after attending the rodeo in Cheyenne because we thought it would be interesting for them to have the bison. First, our waitress bordered in being surly and took forever to even bring water to our table! When she finally came to take the order, she was abrupt and almost rude when one of our friends asked about beers. She waved her hand at the table and said, "It's right there!" In an exasperated voice. It took forever for the food to arrive It was ok, but nothing special and way over priced! And the service was way below even average. I guess this place doesn't care if it has repeat business! The very worst part of the experience was that the whole time we were there, we could barely talk to each other because the live music was so loud that you would have thought they were trying to be heard in Alaska! The man and woman who were singing had their amps up so high that it actually measured from 80-90 decibels on my husband's phone! Senator's Restaurant is located on the beautiful Terry Ranch just north of the Colorado border in Wyoming. The ranch has several farm animals for the kids to look at, and they are unlikely to run out of ribeyes with a cattle feed lot less than a quarter mile east of the restaurant. This place seems to be a favorite of the red blooded and white haired elderly conservative crowd, but I thought it was pretty mediocre. The steaks are average tasting but overpriced. The service is friendly and cordial though -- pretty good company overall. read more

Danger! We stopped here for dinner. Ordered off the menu rather than attempting the scary buffet. The salad bar was completely warm, no ice under the food, and it looked like it had been there all day. We ordered the ribeye steak 'medium' with a baked potato. What we received was basically raw meat that was barely warm, with a pile of soggy onion rings a potato that tasted old and was half baked, and two pieces of soggy toast what I guess was meant to be garlic bread. Overall it was not edible without serious risk of food poisoning. Overall the whole experience was bad, and two hours of our lives we will never get back. read more

You should be able to get a great bison steak at a bison ranch in Wyoming, right? The 6 of us sat down and put our order in, the server was trying her best, but it was clear she had only the least amount of training. She brought us samples of the bison chili, good meat to bean ratio, but lacked flavor. That describes every thing we tried. The steaks arrive, they were cooked properly, but had absolutely no seasoning what so ever. Everything was BLAND! For $32 per 8oz, I expected at least some flavor. Horrible! ! My family came in from TX and LA to visit family. A party of 9 wanted to try bison. Our waitress was spacey and didnt listen to the orders. We ordered 4 appetizers and received 3. 20 minutes later the 4th comes out cold. 8 out of the 9 meals were cold and sent back. When the acting manager emily came to the table she wanted to offer the salad bar. She was very unprofessional and acted like we bothered her. 2 hours we waited on food. We were willing to pay for drinks ordered and 3 appetizers and they still wanted to charge for food not ate. Extremely over priced. We went here for the bison burgers and it was very quiet, no patrons (noon). It took over an hour to receive our order. We had a party of 10 with several people sharing burgers. The french onion soup had to be returned and the bacon was not cooked to order for the salad. We ordered our burgers cooked medium and received rare. The manager gave us a 10% discount for the inconvenience, however, we had a 10% discount already. Not our best restaurant experience. read more

Waitress was horrible. Food was not good and way over priced. Anything that had to be cooked in the fryer came out black and soaked in grease. You could smell the burnt oil from across the huge dinning room. I will never recommend this place. Its really a shame, my kids love the rest of the Terry bison area. read more

We went to eat there after the great train ride we experienced. The place had about 20 or so people there and when we ordered our food. After about 45 minutes I asked the waitress (Jayci) if she put in our order. She started to argue with me why it was taking so long. Then after nearly 55 minutes our food finally arrived. I ordered a Buffalo burger med. it came out well done, my wife ordered the Buffalo meat ball sub and it arrived luke warm and dry. The waitress never apologized for the long wait and just had excuses instead. It wasn't until we were paying our bill that she than said "Sorry" that it wasn't normal to take that long. The least she could have done is try and make up for it with a free dessert or something taken off of our bill. Very disappointing that the food took longer than the train ride. and after the long wait was not up to par. It was bad timing but we still should not had to suffer like that. read more

I brought my family, who was visiting from out of state, here because I heard that the food is excellent....and I thought it would be fun for all ages to go to a bison ranch. Well......We got snow in May, so it was cold and not really a good time to explore the ranch. But, we still came for dinner. While our service was friendly, our server did not put in everyone's order and three people in our party (the only people who did not order steaks) did not get their food until about 20 minutes AFTER everyone else was done eating and the plates were cleared. They did. however, not charge those people for their food, but there was never any apology or mention of what happened and why they had to wait so long for their food. I ordered the bison steak and it was very stringy and difficult to cut. My brother-in-law ordered the same thing and his was tender and perfect.....so there is some inconsistency with the food. I also ordered a loaded baked potato and it came out with only butter. I had to ask multiple times for the toppings, which I never got. My favorite part of the meal....the garlic texas toast that came with my food :) I would definitely give it a second chance because I know that some days are just not as great as others.....but I couldn't give it three stars because, on this visit, it was not A-OK. read more
