Hello management/owner/owners. Your birria meat flavor was amazing. Unfortunately, the vampiros tacos, birria ramen, and birria Crunchwrap was lacking what I would think you call savor/flavor. There were no condiments, ex: cilantro, onions, salsa.... We only received the food but had to enjoy salty flavors. I've ordered takeout from here twice now and have a pretty solid experience both times! I've always wanted to try birria tacos, so happy that I finally got a chance to try them here. My first time coming here, I ordered 1 quesataco and 2 regular tacos, along with a small consome. My second time here, I ordered 4 regular tacos, since I remember thinking that the 3 tacos weren't quite filling enough. Between the quesataco and the regular tacos, I actually preferred just the simple regular taco. I had a lot of the consome left over, as I mainly just used it to dip my tacos in. This is a nice little spot. Comfortable. I'm not a big fan beef birria. I prefer goat. But I've decided not to be a weenie and have an open mind with beef birria. I just usually don't like it. I've had bad experiences and have had it where the meat is tough. But at this place the meat was super tender and the flavor was great. I only had tacos because we came for $1 taco Tuesday. A great deal you don't see anymore and these are worth the regular price. They only do birria meat but they have lots of selections for it. All the birria spot standards. Can't leave zero stars, so I have to select 1 to write my review. My family just had the most unfortunate and disgusting experience tonight. We dined in (spent $70) and another $15 for a meal to-go. We were disappointed that they ran out of the pickled habanero onions, but that's not the worst part! We took our to-go meal home for my son. On his third bite, he bit into a HUGE RUSTY PIECE OF METAL!!!! Not only did he hurt himself, but he was shocked that this significantly large piece of metal was invisible to the cook!!!! I immediately called the restaurant and spoke to a female cashier who declined to let me speak to the person in charge, unless I told her the reason why I requested to speak to him/her. Once I told her, she placed me on hold. Once she came back, she advised that there was nobody in charge and only cashiers and cooks were available; she also declined to give me the owner's name. My husband and I immediately went back to speak to someone and spoke to Daniel who looked at the metal piece and told us it belonged to their kitchen and as he explained how it may have fallen into the food, he called the person "in charge" which was one of the cooks named Hector. Hector concurred as he immediately recognized the piece of metal as part of a fixture that holds the lettuce. At this point Daniel refunded the money for the to-go order ONLY; not considering that the food we just ate at the restaurant possibly came from the same pot of Birria where the RUSTED PIECE of METAL came from. We then asked for the owners name and they didn't hesitate to tell us, but nothing was done. They didn't even ask if my son was okay?! They just told me me to call Andres Troncoso on Tuesday bc they're closed on Monday. Apparently, the owner, Andrew (Andres) Troncoso would be on site on Tuesday. I asked if they could call him and they declined to. Clearly, this was not an emergency to them even after I told them what happened to my son. Hector asked if we were taking the meal and piece of metal (unbelievable). We informed him that it was evidence to show the owner. At that point, I exited the premises then quickly returned to leave my name and number, and asked that the owner please call me before Tuesday. Still upsetting that they didn't care to report this to the owner while we were there. It's so incredibly absurd that they didn't know what to do in this situation and by not calling the owner at that very moment proves they weren't worried about what happened at all. Instead, they continued to serve food and other customers were possibly eating from the same contaminated pot. This saddens me bc we've been loyal customers since they opened and they didn't care about our health and safety AT ALL!!!!!!! read more

Let's talk about the meat. It's super tender, juicy, and they pack it into whatever you buy. If you really want to get your money's worth, the birria nachos are a home run. For less than $10, it's a huge mound of chips with a thick layer of birra, cheese, sour cream, and anything else you might want to throw on to garnish. The tacos. Bomb. I ordered the birria bowl and I asked it with no cheese. I asked her 3 times to make sure. It's the cojita cheese and I legit get stomach sick with that cheese. When I got my order it had it all over the bowl. They took it back but couldn't make me another. They just tried taking it off the bowl. There was still cheese all over. I couldn't eat the food. I didn't ask for another one again cause I didn't want my food messed with. I left in tears (I just had a baby and hormonal) and hungry. Our whole order was almost $100 with a good tip I left. I had been looking forward to trying birria for weeks, so it only made sense that my first stop after landing at LAX was Senor Birria. While I consider myself a taco snob, I had always steered away from birria because I wasn't sure what it was or if I was going to like it. Luckily, my girlfriend was familiar and was happy to take me for my first taste. Besides looking for the best birria nearby, we wanted to make sure it was birria de res (beef), which is what Senor Birria serves, since it can commonly be made with chivo (goat). Senor Birria is tucked into the corner of this little strip mall right in the main part of Downey. As I walked up to the storefront, I spotted the outdoor covered eating area they set up with some twinkly lights. The cashier was very friendly and even gave me some of her favorite recommendations once she found out it was my first time. I ordered two of the regular tacos since they were on handmade tortillas and it seems to be a good way to quickly know how good a Mexican restaurant is. The tortillas were the right texture and had a nice flavor to them, which can be difficult to achieve unless you have the right masa. We also ordered four tacos dorados and one sope to give some other things a try. The tacos dorados are crispy fried tacos that were loaded with stewed beef. I wish the beef itself had a little more flavor, but it was a delicious bite once it was covered with salsa and drenched in the consume. The consume also had a generous portion of beef and is an essential item to add flavor to your tacos and any other item on the menu (IT'S A MUST!) The price is very reasonable, especially for birria, which tends to be more expensive than your regular street taco and even more so once you see just how much beef is stuff inside the tacos. The indoor dining with a beautifully painted mural gave the restaurant a nice ambience and everyone was very friendly. If I'm in the area again, I will definitely stop by to try some of the other items on the menu (currently eyeing the quesataco!). read more

Here's the thing if you're against TickTock you're really missing out. I found this location on TickTock. So I got my self over there luckily it's right next to my church. I had to go in and take a picture of the Day of the dead family super cute. I've been trying to get my mom and her boyfriend to go with me because I don't eat meat. But luckily I did see that they had sopes so I ordered one with beans avocado lettuce and cheese. Super excited to get my food when I went to pay I noticed that their tipping system starts at 20% wowsers. That's the first time I've seen that. Usually it starts at 10% than 15% and 20%. First time trying Birria tacos and fyi this place ONLY sells beef (no chicken, no shrimp, etc.) Atmosphere-- fun experience with friends. open back space set up with a tent for families to sit at. Felt very homey. Food-- I personally am not a huge taco fan (I don't love meat) but I know everyone at our table enjoyed their food. It's a super hefty meal with lots of juicy good meat involved. I loved the hot sauce (real kick I warn you) with it and the Consome was good for dipping or on its own (basically meat soaked in meat juice and fresh onions/cilantro). The queso tacos were yummy as well and I would recommend going for the crunchy shells vs the softer. Good quality tortilla as well. Menu-- I will say as 1. a taco noob who 2. forgot everything I learned in three years of high school Spanish, I could not read 80% of the menu... I had to ask the lady (she was really sweet!) But I could see how this might be an unfavorable experience or overwhelming for someone else who is not a spanish-speaker. So this is the first time I've had birria taco which is basically you dip a taco in a consume(soup) and it taste amazing. But I wish I knew that the taco were soft tortilla and taco Dorado means taco in a crunchy shell. I asked but the workers English was a bit difficult to understand especially with a mask on. I took a chance with Señor Birria because I want to start experimenting. And I love supporting local spots. I've never had a birria torta. Seems like a bad idea. I figured The broth (juice) from the meat will make my bread soggy. But I wanted to try something new. Now I know. Bad idea lol all though my torta wasn't good, my party loved their food! I put up photos so you can see what they got and they loved it!!! So on behalf of them, yes, this place was good. My dad said the birria was "suave". Soft, for you non Spanish speaking folks lol and that says a lot because most places use thick, chewy cheap meat. But not Señor Birria! I'll just get something else next time.
