Had lunch at Señor Fiesta today. The service was very kind to us, and overly accommodating, so that earns points. Also not a terribly long wait throughout. Honestly, never had bad service here! We ordered- Chunky Guacamole: It had nice flavor, and a small kick. Definitely a crowd pleaser, and good quality. Carne asada: This steak was flavorful as always and lots of great cooked vegetables. Bf orders this almost every time we come and it always is good. Seemed like they put an extra piece of meat on the plate also as it seemed like such a large portion. Definitely worth the price Chimichanga: Once again, consistent to what we expected! Salmon tacos: I added avocado and pineapple to these! The crispness on the edges of the salmon was super tasty and I was happy with the freshness of the fish! I do wish this dish came with extra tortillas on the side. Drinks- Key Lime Mojito: This was PACKED with lots of fresh mint, which was so impressive. It also was light and fresh. I really enjoyed this drink overall and would try more of their mojitos in the future as there were nearly a dozen flavors to choose from! Senior Fiesta is located up in Gainesville, and is more of an upscale Mexican cantina. I had gone up this way for a marketing event, and one of my Marketing Knights is a local to Gainesville and suggested this place to eat. He said it was better than Pepe's, which is a local spot where I work that I love. It sits somewhat in a strip mall at the end, and the parking lot was busy. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is really nice. It was also very busy for a Thursday night, so I guess the locals love this spot. The food menu is pretty big and their alcohol menu selection seemed bigger. I really wished I had a chance to try a margarita here, but was still in company time. Our service here was excellent. He kept bringing the chips and salsa. Really liked their salsa bowls and loved their salsa. I ordered the authentic tacos de asada with grilled chicken, rice & beans and corn tortillas. I will say the tacos are very much comparable to Pepe's so it was a win. Love fresh cilantro and onions! You have the option of red or green sauce with the tacos ... the green sauce was similar to a tomatillo salsa, but not better than their salsa. Overall, food was great, service was great and excellent atmosphere. I'm not up this way enough for pleasure so I doubt I'll get a chance to try a margarita but it's worth dropping in to eat. read more

Oh my goodness. We were heading out of town and wanted to eat before we got into an area where there were no options. We looked on Yelp and came into Senor Fiesta based on the reviews. Once again, winner winner. We were greeted right as we walked in at 5:48 on a Friday night and seated immediately. Our server was Vicente. He came over quickly and got our drink orders and brought chips and salsa. The salsa had a slight bite to it and tons of flavor. Delicious. My frozen strawberry margarita was really good. My daughter had the raspberry one and found it to be just as yummy. For dinner I had the chicken ranchero. It was a grilled chicken breast with grilled mushrooms and onions and a cheese sauce. The flavor was fantastic and the portion size was very large. My daughter had the chicken and broccoli fajita. It was huge. She barely ate a quarter of it and was blissfully stuffed. My husband had the burrito carbon. He was also a fan. We don't leave anywhere close to here but it would be worth the drive just to come back. Stop in. You will be glad you did. I really hate saying this but it seems like this location is having issues. Even though I saw several regular employees and the manager I always see. This is the second time in three tries that things have been off. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I generally like it but first off this most recent time it was so cold inside even though it was a drizzly cool outside situation. You could see others including two female servers shivering.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I always get the steak poblano which comes with rice and corn with jalapeño. In trying to cut back on carbs at least a little I asked for the rice to be substituted with grilled veggies. Trying to get what veggies they had was its own ordeal. Had a hard time getting the server to understand which I felt was a pretty simple request. Figuring he might not have fully understood. i waved the manager over to explain to him also. When they brought the meal there were plenty of the veggies but no corn. I asked about it only to have more misunderstanding. They also brought a side of refried beans which I had them take away since I didn't ask for it. They brought the corn on the side which was fine because it actually tasted better because it seemed more roasted than usual. The steak was cooked more than medium which is what happened the first time to cause me to update the review. They do use a pretty thin slice of meat so whoever cooked it either this or both times needs better training on how to cook steak. It was too dry and not juicy at all. The flour tortillas which are normally very hot when they first come out, weren't. I will go back when I'm in the area for I have a doctor up there and hope it's better before I decide to make a longer drive to their location up in Dawsonville instead. I really don't want it to come to that because it's normally very good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plus for the second time in three tries it wasn't anywhere as busy as usual. Maybe it was just a weird time but seemed odd.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lastly I tried explaining by showing on the plate how it normally comes with a poblano pepper on the edge, the rice on the side of the plate with the steak on the other edge and then the corn on the final side and showed all this explaining instead of the rice, just put veggies there. I can't understand why that was so difficult to figure out. Especially even after speaking to the manager. read more

This place was busy which is great but they cannot keep up in the kitchen so service is SLOW - then they deliver food to wrong table. From time we were sat u til we received food 1 hour on a week night. Menu must be too big for the kitchen staff to handle and clearly online orders to go were take precedence. Me and my family of 5 ate here today and the services was so slow. We ordered around 8 and got our food at 9. Our food was cold, the service was slow, and i had a blast of cherry in my shirley temple not blended in. I don't recommend eating here if you want hot and fast service.This is not a good place to eat, it has downgraded quickly.The ambiance was not so good. The food was amazing, portions were excellent. Our server, Egnor, was incredibly attentive and polite. The chips were magnificent, he brought us out a hot refill that melted in my mouth. Good vibe and not typical Mexican restaurant look. Good appetizers and a couple good entrees that I've tried are the shrimp tacos and shrimp enchiladas. The main reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because the Carne Asada is really poor. Terrible marinade and really rubbery. I've lived in Texas and been to numerous Mexican restaurants and had Carne Asada. La Fiesta's just sucks. I've ordered several times hoping it would get better, but nope. Just sucks.
