A super disappointing experience.   Glasses and spoons were dirty and had a pinkish residue on them that looked like lipstick.  The tempura was cold and the sushi rice was soggy and unappetizing. The food was ok but not impressed. They also plated everything in one plate and anyone could get over to my plate.  Our server, Flora randomly dropping the food on the plate left us dumbfounded and tried to figure out the dishes.  Terrible service and lack of Japanese food knowledge!  So sad, our server did not know the sake drinks and some of the menu items too.  It was absolutely disappointing and the experience at Senro turned out to be unpleasant for everyone tonight! We also noticed that Flora never changed her gloves, and continued brought us the food after cleaning the table with the same pairs of nasty gloves.  She picked up all the dirty plates and cups without sanitized her hands or changed her gloves.  This was pretty nasty!  The health and safety of your customers are very important, be safe rather than be sorry. Senro dining service was much like a self-service restaurant, worst than before, had to figure out our own food!  Ridiculous!  Our server, Flora never refilled our drinks, she disappeared partway through, and also it was hard to flag her down.  No service whatsoever only appeared for the check payment.  Luckily, a poney tail nice server top off our drinks!  I missed all the nice friendly, excellent servers like the poney tail server! read more

~~~~~ Smiling is great but CUSTOMER SERVICE is also very IMPORTANT! ~~~~~ The weird and horrendous dining experience at Senro: 1) Slowly, first the chubby server look like in her 60s, took our drinks order. 2) Felt like forever to get our drink from the chubby granny server. ~slow, no straws! 3) After that a different server, Flora took our food order. ~confusing 2 servers??? change of service? Weird but Great! Two servers serving on one table, service should be more attentive!!! 4) At this point we're starving,... after a long wait, our food came separately within 10 minutes of each other. Horrible wait time! 5) Dishes were rushly and rudely left on the table by our server, Miss Flora. 6) Our Food server, Flora NEVER changed her gloves after picking up the dirty cups! Awful! COVID isn't going away yet! We will report to Health Department for personal hygiene and food safety issues. 7) No one check on us, no one refilled our drinks! (Originally we had two servers). Horrible service! 8) Wished to order more food and drinks but our server Flora disappeared... 9) Finally, Flora appeared with our bill. 10) Weren't satisfied at all, still hungry, got to leave, bad service! 11) Flora was too overwhelmed with other tables. Stopped here for dinner on Sunday night and sat at the table closest to the entrance, our receipt showed Table 4. We were seated promptly. Normally, I understand being busy during the dinner rush. However, we were seated well before another party, this party was served drinks and food right away. We got our drinks quickly too but after the other party had done, we were still waiting for our sushi for 50 mins and almost an hour to get our food. Really, an hour wait for the sushi? Ridiculous! The two sushi chefs older female & male, (seems like mother and son ) had a very bad demeanor, no smile, and worked at a super slow speed. No sense of urgency, your customers were super starving! Terrible service!!! We were extremely disappointed, absolutely didn't enjoy our dinner even though the sushi was good. We will not be returning. read more

Terribe service! Senro was unable to handle the busy crowd on Friday, Senro Sushi should hire extra experience servers! Our food was cold, service was extremely terrible. We waited so long for someone to take our order and extra longer time to get our food. The worst things were our server never checked on us, very inexperienced, bad service, etc. All the experience and friendly servers were gone, at least please train your staff well! Also the virus isn't going away yet, this place totally ignored the basic COVID-19 and personal hygiene rules. The server never washed her hands after touching the garbage, bussing the tables, handling payment transactions! Please wash your hand! This is so sad to say that another sushi place, service and quality of the food has gone down hill. Senro never has enough employees, the service is always miss especially on Friday night! On Friday night, the server took longer and expected time to take our order, the food took even longer time to arrive another hour wait. Water never refilled, never checked on us, we couldn't get attention of our server just to add more food and drinks! The service was too rush never informed us what's what! Just left it on the table and disappeared, we should not be treated like this! For the food part, our Gyoza was cold and burnt, very unappetizing! The rolls failing apart, it was extremely hard to eat! We will not be back, is time to try new sushi restaurants ! read more

The sushi is good and fresh but a disappointing experience. Senro is our favorite sushi place in town for so many years, until recently what a turnaround!  We never had been treated like this at Senro, the worse, disrespectful, unacceptable customer service.  On Friday night, Senro supposes to close at 10 pm but we were given the bill and signaled us to pay and leave ASAP from our lovely waitress Flora.  Wow!  This was a very unpleasant dining experience we've ever had in Senro Sushi.  Please don't argue with your customers and give a lot of excuses!  The service was horrendous, careless, and fast!  Bad service, put a damper on our experience. We've been coming to Senro Sushi since moving to the area in 2020. We've been to so many Japanese restaurants and this is BY FAR the BEST Japanese restaurant I've ever been to! The sushi is so fresh and the rolls are amazing! My favorite is the Shelby Roll and the 49er Roll. The kids bento box is so plentiful for our daughter. She always begs us to take her to Senro Sushi every week! The owner has become like a family member to us because she is so sweet every time we eat here! She is like a second mother to us! We love Senro Sushi so much! We highly recommend eating here! The food beats all of the other sushi restaurants in the Tri-Valley! read more

Rule 1: NEVER ARGUE with your customers! ~ I frequently visit Senro with my family and friends for so many years. ~ Our server messed up our order, not even apologize, and then argued with us about our order. ~ We were mortified, so dumbfounded by our server's rude behavior.  We have never been treated like this thorough out the years at Senro. ~ We were uncomfortable with this behavior.  I find it hard to believe that Senro would knowingly employ such an abrasive, rude, and unprofessional server - Flora. ~ We will not visit Senro again despite the food is tasty. read more

I don't care what the Pleasanton Weekly says, this is by far the best sushi in town and I've been to all the sushi restaurants in Pleasanton. The service is good and attentive but the place can get busy especially on the weekends. The sushi is inventive (specifically their roles) and fresh, their sashimi rocks. My son was not a fish eater until I took him here, it's now his favorite place to go for fish and sushi and BTW this isn't the only sushi place he's been to in Pleasanton. read more

We love Senro!   We are so thankful for Senro's chefs and servers for their hard work during this pandemic stay open to serve the community.  Unfortunately, the service is kind of bad, slow, and rude... Our food came during different times, just dropped food on our table in random order, the customer service is poor, and our server really didn't really check up on us. I really like Senro! They have a huge selection of rolls (I've never been disappointed) I have a lot of favorites- the names escape me right now. They have a good selection in their sashimi meals as well. Those that have gotten the non sushi meals (wimps!) have also enjoyed their food as well. Prices are average for the area, and I've always had good service here. I'd definately reccommend them! read more

The best sushi restaurant I've ever been to! Senro is a hidden gem which not too many people know about. In a way it's a good thing because I'd prefer it to not be too commercial - part of the charm is the vibe in the restaurant. I've been going here for about 8-9 years and I love to order the hamachi, lamb chops appetizer, shrimp festival and lion king rolls - all to die for! read more

I never thought I'd say that Pleasanton would be the destination for the best sushi I've ever had, yet here I am. The creativity of the sushi chefs is incredible. The service tries really hard, although can get a little overwhelmed when busy. Ambiance is fair, so definitely a second date destination. Senro is one of my favorite Japanese restaurants. The sushi is priced well and are good in size. There are a lot of rolls to choose from. My favorite is the Raider Roll. I also really like the ambiance. I highly recommend Senro if you feel like sushi and are close to downtown Pleasanton. read more

Came here the other day for lunch! I noticed a new waitress working here, I didn't catch her name but she provided amazing service and great recommendations! Overall, great sushi & lunch prices are really reasonable compared to other sushi spots. I will definitely be back! read more

This restaurant is off Main Street so it does not get the traffic that it deserves. Their food is excellent, you can dine inside or outside overlooking the park. You can even buy your own bottle of sake which they will keep for you, your private stash. read more

We came here late on a Thursday at 8:30 pm and the staff was giving us dirty looks. It might have been because we were the only ones there, definitely off putting. Sushi was good though, very fresh. Salad was good as well. read more
