Friday evening, all restaurants were so busy! Niki-ya had a wait list, but thankfully it was about 30 minutes wait only because we were all so hungry! It's an all you can eat Bbq, and you choose what tier you want to eat. We chose the middle one, gold tier. My 11 year-old granddaughter was charged like an adult , they go by height instead of age here. We had a tall young Asian server, and he was very efficient, friendly , on point. My daughter was in charge of ordering. And trays and trays of meats were brought to the table. We ordered drinks and we started grilling. The server changed our grill plate many times!! The meats were tender, all excellent. The restaurant was very busy and full, so the noise level was high. We totally enjoyed our dinner here. Wish they had some more desserts! Parking is abundant, they share a lot many other businesses.

Pretty good kbbq and sushi choices! There's three different tiers you can buy from (we did gold, the middle tier). I think this is the same owner as Wagyu Grill AYCE in Milpitas but the quality is also good! it's got plenty of large tables and it's only 10 minutes away from the outlets. Their ordering is a little different, each phone can order 10 items every 3 minutes so definitely coordinate with your table so you don't order too much! Soft drinks are free refills too

I came here for lunch to try this place out hoping to pay the lunch price. However, came on Juneteenth and forgot it was a holiday for some. Ended up paying the dinner price, and chose the Silver level for $35.95. There was no line when we got there, and we were seated right away. The Wagyu meats were good, except the Wagyu Plate Meat. It was hard to chew with the cartilage. My favorite meats were the Wagyu special and the Wagyu brisket. These also were good - unagi don, takoyaki, salmon jalapeño, truffle white tuna, lion king roll. There was a small salad/dessert bar, but didn't try anything from there. The waitstaff changed our grill a couple of times, which was nice. They were friendly as well.

Got here when the lunch rush was dying down. The parking right in front of the restaurant is very small. However its in a shopping center so there are options to park there. When we got there, there was one couple in front of me. They were looking at the menu. The hostess saw that I entered and asked me how many are in my party, I said two. She then asked for a minute so that she could assist the couple before me. Of course that was okay. After she seated that couple she greeted a couple that came in behind me. She then continued to help them, a party of two, and seated them before coming back to me and seating my party. She was very unorganized. I was obviously there before the people behind me, yet she still seated them first. Maybe get someone more experienced if she was new? Finally once we were seated, they told us how to order and where the salad bar was. You order through an app and by scanning the QR code (make sure your phone is charged and that the battery isn't about to die). We ordered the premium meats (3 different menu tiers). You can order up to 10 items at a time. Pros: lots of good cuts and Wagyu. Cons: not many other options for proteins or vegetables. The salad bar had the usual, mung bean sprouts, green leaf salad, kimchi, cucumber salad, seaweed salad, daikon, roasted peanuts and two desserts: tiramisu and coffee cheesecake. All these come with the AYCE option. There are additional desserts that you can pay extra for though. The service was really quick. They bring the meats out right away, they remove the empty plates from your table right away and they do come around and check often. Rose was our waitress and she was very polite and friendly. She was very attentive and came by to check on us often. Overall the place appears very clean. I like the vibe. It has nice decor and comfy seating. Not sure if id come back though (especially during prime lunch or dinner time where the hostess may not know how to seat people correctly). It is convenient however when coming with a group that may not agree on what to eat since there is a ramen option, a few sushi options and the kbbq

We are supposed to go to chubby cattle but we can't handle the long wait. We went here & this is waaaaaayy better! The Japanese Wagyu is very satisfying & Dylon provided an excellent service. The place is clean, quiet & gives a very preppy vibes! Thank you so much our tummies are very very happy :-)

My second time visiting and I had to bring my wife! The first time I dined in our server was Thomas, Jen and Rose! The service here is amazing, even after the second time dining in. Our server the second time was Gwen and she was very accommodating to my wife and I! We came in an hour and a half before closing and Gwen still gave us awesome service. She gave great recommendations for drinks, offered water refills and even did a grill change without us having to ask! The overall ambiance of the restaurant is stunning, and the music is tasteful and not too distracting over dinner. The meats here are very high quality and prices are on the cheaper side in comparison to other JBBQ/KBBQ places! The meal came with a dessert at the end and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it as well! My wife said it was her favorite dish of the night. The cocktails are definitely on the stronger side, but if you like something more on the lighter side, I would recommend the strawberry lychee or any of the slushy beverages! My wife got the strawberry lychee and really enjoyed it. It had a refreshing, yet not super overpowering taste. I got the tokyo sour because I like the drinks on the stronger side, so if you do too, definitely order that next time as well :))) This place is definitely a hole-in-the-wall/hidden gem of livermore! Definitely worth the drive and visit coming from 45 minutes away :))) Will definitely be coming back!

Well, we came back! But this time, for Mother's Day for my mother. My brother said they updated their menu to all you can eat when last year, it wasn't. This time I took my kids with me and they enjoyed it! They loved the sushi and miso soup. I tried the dragon roll and lion king which was really good. I had the eel rice as well which was pretty good. My bother ordered the clay pot rice which was delicious as well. We ordered some meats to share. Shrimp and miso salmon which was really good. Overall I think I gained like 10lbs, lol. Well worth the all you can eat price. Luckily my 9 year old was half off but she ate more than I thought she would! Anyways, the staff were very nice and accommodating. Our server filled our waters a couple times which was nice because my family drinks a lot of water. Not to mention, there was a salad bar with desserts. My daughter loved the tiramisu cake. Wouldn't mind coming out here again for special occasions!

We were looking for Japanese wagyu bbq and our first stop was actually Chubby Cattle, but sadly their waitlist was closed for the night. Luckily, we found Nikuya which had a very similar menu and also offered Japanese Wagyu for a bit cheaper! We got their premium set which is the only one that offered Japanese Wagyu (other tiers had Australian wagyu). It was still a 2hr wait on a Saturday but I am so happy I waited because the quality of the meats was amazing and the sashimi was so delicious! The sashimi had a nice citrus marinade that cuts down the fatty wagyu perfectly. I also love how they have a banchan and lettuce self-service bar because I NEED tons of radish slices and lettuce wraps with my bbq. Ordering is done on a tablet and the servers brought out the next round before we could even start cooking the previous, so we were never without food on the grill. Overall, highly recommend this spot!

Excellent service, good quality meats, and a good time! The meat was good quality, melts in your mouth. The sushi was so good, and the sashimi was also good. Our server Jada was really nice and attentive, would love to come here again next time! Thank you Nikuya for a good meal and a good time!

    Kalie H.

Food was very worth its price. Only $26.95 for lunch which is definitely a steal! You get both bbq and sushi/sashimi. We had our server, Olivia, and she was very attentive and welcoming. She made our first visit here amazing. Will definitely be coming back!

I wasn't sure... read the reviews... took a chance. So glad we did! Excellent quality of food in fact, meat is better qualities than local competitors. Not naming any names about any fat cows but honestly, this is our new place now for Japanese Wagyu barbecue. Our server, his name is Dylan and he was so helpful, incredibly patient and kind. Help us learn the menu and even cooked for us when we started flailing and overcook the meat. Ha ha it happens to the best of us. The space is modern located in the same shopping center as Restoration Hardware and Trader Joe's in Pleasanton. With the amount of grease flying around from the self cooked tables it's amazing. They keep it as clean as they do. Great experience worth trying if you want to cook your own vegetables, seafood, and meat. Don't underestimate the small salad bar that has good melon.

This is just fine. I'm not saying it as a bad thing or anything like that. It's really just fine. Wanted to try a place that had both ayce bbq and sushi and this spot looked very promising. I will say that sushi is probably better than the meats. I'm not sure what it was, maybe the cut, maybe the quality, maybe because some wasn't seasoned or marinated or something. The inside was big and modern and pretty. The severs were nice and attentive. The food came out relatively quick after ordering. I would say Nikuya is better than a buffet, but not quite premium dining either. It's fine.

This place was a truly top-tier experience! We originally wanted to try for Chubby Cattle, but it was booked, so a friend recommended this spot - and honestly, I don't even feel the need to try Chubby Cattle anymore. Here, it's an all-you-can-eat setup with 10 items per person per setting, which is fantastic compared to the typical four items elsewhere. They also have a great mini salad bar packed with all your favorite fixings, like cucumber salad, kimchi, and even desserts! Our server was super attentive, and the whole atmosphere is vibrant and bright. I really loved the open-space vibes and can't wait to go back!

Miso Salmon was better than I expected!

How much do they charge for a weekday lunch?

I haven't been in a little bit. The last time I went was $26.

Does anyone know how much they charge for Sunday lunch?

    Lunch specials only for M-F 11-4pm $25.95

I see photos of Sashimi, but do not see it on the menu. Is Sashimi offered A la Carte or AYCE or both?

We have some several sashimi options on the AYCE menu as well.

    Is this AYCE?

As of 06/23/25, yes. The restaurant trajectory turned into AYCE.

Great reviews. How do we make reservations? I just see a waitlist option. Thanks

We arrived at 7:40 PM, and the manager, Joseph, told us the restaurant would close in 10 minutes. I said that's OK. We'll order the food and eat as much as we can there until we have to leave, and then we will leave by the time we are asked to leave. My boyfriend, Jeff, thought the restaurant was open until 8 PM, so he checked the website. It said the location was open till 8 PM, so he walked outside to check the time on the door, and it read 8 PM. There were no other signs that said they were closing at 7:50 PM. Jeff called somebody to complain about the time discrepancy while we were waiting for our order to arrive. When our order arrived, Kira brought our food to the table in a really cute to-go bag, and I like that she listened to us that we would eat as much food as we could while we were at the restaurant and then take the rest to eat at home when it came closer to 8 PM. Our food was ready pretty quickly; we had plenty of time to finish our food before 8 PM. However, I think Jeff just wanted the manager to be upfront with him and say that the store was closing at 8 PM, so it's better to take your food to go or something like that, not make up an arbitrary time to say what time the restaurant was closed. I'm rating this Koja kitchen location four stars mainly because of the outstanding customer service provided by Kira. She was incredibly friendly and approachable, making the experience very pleasant. I wish more customer service representatives could be as kind and easy to talk to as she is.
