I stumbled upon this nail salon about 2 years ago now after getting my eyebrows threaded in the same business center, and I've been coming here ever since! The employees here, such as Mimi and Nu, are very friendly. They all make you feel welcome as you enter the place and they remember the names of their regulars-- I've seen these greetings many times which tells you how many regulars there are. They offer drinks I usually get gel manicures and the occasional dip when I go on longer vacations. I've also gotten regular and gel pedicures. A few times now I've asked to get either ombre dip or gel. Mimi does a fantastic job with this and truly takes her time to perfect it. Service is great and whenever I felt unsatisfied with the original color, they'll fix it for you. Pricing is very reasonable compared to many other nail salons in the area. For example gel manicure is around $35ish. They take walk ins and appointments. Because I go during my days off, I usually get by with walk ins-- the most I've waited is 15-20 minutes. If you're in a hurry, I suggest making an appointment. The salon recently went through renovations with right lights, new paint and decorations, new chairs-- the ambiance is wonderful. The salon shares a parking lots with restaurants so parking can be a little difficult when you go during lunch time. Most of the time I don't have a problem. Walked in for a mani/pedi on a Weekday afternoon, was able to be seen right away. They have a very big selection of nail polish brands and colors. About 8-10 pedi chairs with built in massagers. I chose the European mani/pedi for $42. Most places massage your feet and hands during the process, but this place did not. The callous removal was ok.. It definitely left my feet feeling smooth, but I'm not sure it did the most thorough job. I like the places that use the the callous shaver, this place did not. When I was finishing with my pedi, about 5 customers walked in at once. I could feel my relaxing spa pedi being rushed so that my nail stylist could help the other customers. Reason for 3 stars, once my pedi was done, my mani was very rushed through. Some of my nails turned out jagged. When I was all done, I was just left sitting in the pedicure chair. After 5 minutes, I had to ask where I had to go to put my wet mani nails under a light to dry. Not the worst mani/pedi I have received..But not good enough to convince to come back. The worst! Came in for mani and pedi, they cut me 3 TIMES!!! The staff works too fast they seem to forget that they're holding sharp tools to delicate skin! Snipped me twice on my hand and once on my toe and the cut on my toe would not stop bleeding! I get maybe once, but 3 times in one visit is inexcusable! I've been coming to this place at least a year now. I get gel nails and they hold up very well till obviously my nails grow out. Jenny is always so kind and welcoming. I've read some of the negative reviews and obviously, they can't read your mind or see what you envision, so if you have to ask a couple times to fix the shape then just do that. I just let them know what I like and don't like and my nails always look beautiful (most people think they're fake actually.) Ask them for what you want respectfully and you will get it. I have been to so many shops and this one has been the most consistent with the results as well as the most welcoming. Also I have to add, this place is always clean. Was greeted by a tech, told her I wanted a full set and pedi with acrylic toe nails. When I sat in pedi chair the tech who was helping me asked another tech something about my feet. I assumed she had asked the other tech if she knew how to do acrylic toenails. That women said the lady who was already helping me could do it. So fast forward, to when my toenails are complete....I only had one acrylic toenail...the one I put on myself last week so when I told the lady I wanted an acrylic toenail she responded, "I asked you before I started, I don't have time for a bad day and people that try not to pay me". First, why so rude? Second, who said anything about not paying? I just wanted you to do what I asked you to originally do what you said you were capable of. I hope businesses understand that covid protocols are in place for a reason and if I walk into a small space with several people, I expect everyone to be wearing a mask for their safety as well as mine. Eventually I asked someone else how to pay, and they said "oh she'll help you"... okay... but she literally didn't say anything to me so how should I know that? She took $20 only to put some gel glitter on top of my blue gel polish. I scratched 2 nails and was need a quick fix , so I asked to do ambre and put a little gel glitter to hide scratchers. It's worse nails I ever had. It doesn't look like ambre. It looks ugly. They charge $30 for 45 min gel manicure, and she charged me $20 for 6 minutes of work. No smile. Worse customer service ever. Upon being seated, you're offered a bottle of water, which is a nice added touch. They have the cooking channel playing muted with CC captioning on. They also have soothing music to listen to while you're getting a pedicure. All of the technicians are friendly as well as the owner (I'm assuming). I assumed she was the owner because she thanked me and my guest for our repeated patronage. This establishment is located in a strip mall, where parking is provided. Provided parking is a plus especially since this establishment is located in Hillcrest. My advice would be to arrive early as soon as the shop opens so you're the first one in/out. read more
