We ordered the pink skies drink, which they advertised as tasting similar to a Starbucks pink drink. To me, it tasted more like a strawberry daiquiri. It was sweet and not super creamy. It had a strawberry puree, which gave it the sweet taste. The Italian sandwich had a great flavor - it had a sweet Italian dressing, mayo on the bread, fresh lettuce, cheese, and several meats including baloney, salami, and pepperoni. The bread was soft and fresh. The cucumber salad got a little soggy in the vinegar mix. They were perfectly salty, but could have been a bit more sweet for my personal taste.

SENTIENT BEAN = RACIST/FASCIST COFFEE HOUSE (Commie Hangout) In part due to what I now know to be a phony though carefully cultivated tourism-bait reputation of 'inclusiveness', I've been a willing though naive visitor to Savannah, GA for the past few years now; as I also have personal connection to it and thus I've liked to get some writing done in Forsyth Park, while mindfully exploring my spiritual senses. Unfortunately, the locals themselves, on what is considered the "liberal side" of things (i.e., Democrats), are largely wickedly low-key WHITE SUPREMACISTS and fascist to boot. The liberal folk here (and I'm fairly liberal myself, so take that for what it is) are viciously intolerant of ideological/political/spiritual dissent and Free Speech to the point of peer-group sanctioned vandalism and even violence. Minorities are tolerated to the extent they're useful, but for sure are second class citizens in all liberal white parts of Savannah, including the downtown area (racist Savannah PD happily enforces). Unsurprisingly, this is a fact such folk tend to work hard to hide from others, and even from themselves, through covertly directed efforts like the BLM movement and such (Note how while so many Confederate/Democrat statues were taken down across the country last summer, Savannah--a supposed bastion of "wokeness" and racial justice--left its own altar to White Supremacy and Hate unscathed in the middle of lovely Forsyth Park). Sadly enough I have more than one account of being confronted by Savannah's WHITE PRIVILEGE & SUPREMACY by the very same folk who pretend to champion the rights of minorities such as myself. But having been psychically assaulted by multiple employees of the SENTIENT BEAN coffee house while other staff cheered on, definitely takes the cake. On October 21, 2021, I was peaceably, by myself, exercising my 1st Amendment Right to Free Speech by hanging up anti-communism political literature on a utility pole near this business establishment. Apparently, fascist Sentient Bean staff had been keeping tabs on me for this. I was thus subsequently attacked and physically assaulted in broad daylight by two white men who work there while other staff and some "regulars" maniacally cheered on their criminal actions. Despite clear video and audio evidence, along with third party witness statements in my favor, business-class/white serving Savannah PD was ZERO help. Calling on them was both a waste of time and its own humiliation, as I watched them perform according to their liberal white master's bidding (even after Sentient Bean staff maliciously subsequently called on them some seven times to damage me on false charges that carried the potential of getting me "swatted"). The UnAmerican spirit that permeates this place is made almost tolerable by the visual beauty that surrounds it. But not quite. As my foot was injured, both men got away (with the aid of Sentient Bean staff, nonetheless) and I couldn't give chase. Racist Savannah Police refused to act on the evidence they still as a fact possess. You, however, have to power to teach these COMMIES a lesson in the power and beauty of Capitalism by not giving them your business. read more

Any place that serves food and chooses to nix the meat gets a thumbs up in my book. I've gone here a few times now, and will certainly be back. The food was fresh, light, and flavorful. Vegan options were clearly marked. I really can't complain, but I wasn't "wowed". I've only eaten here once though, so I will certainly update if the next thing I try is memorable. They make a pretty darn good blended mocha, which I love! They have a good handle on making proper foam for their drinks, and the espresso had been perfect (man nothing is worse than burnt espresso). The coffee wasn't bad either, but I only had a sip of my boyfriends, so I really should try a blend I prefer before speaking too much to that. I like how they have self serve beans for purchase. I always seek out vegan/vegetarian cafes and restaurants whenever I travel. And I love to support local businesses. I've been to the sentient bean before (3 years ago) and was excited to come back. I ordered the vegan breakfast burrito. For $8.50 it really was one of the worst vegan meals I've had. It was EXTREMELY dry and had no flavor. The burrito was mostly the tortilla and I had to douse it in the salsa/mayo sauce. It also was kind of skimpy of the actual filling. I mean c'mon it's black beans and tofu, they aren't that expensive. I do appreciate that they serve their meals and drinks in compostable to-go containers, but really need to improve the food. I had been so pumped to return after 3 years but sadly I won't be back. read more

I love anything unique, eclectic, local. This place fits the bill! Laid back atmosphere and great menu. I got the brunch plate, and the breakfast potatoes were nicely seasoned, the veggies were fresh, it was just delish. There are no salt and pepper shakers on the table, and quite frankly, you don't need a speck of either! Staff is down-to-earth, friendly-grunge-hipster types. Seriously nice staff.
