Keep in mind, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the AC prior to this visit. The technician arrived and promptly started taking things apart only to tell me that the fan motor and dual-run capacitor were failing. Other than that, he essentially just hosed down the bottom of the AC unit, which honestly is something I could have done myself, and then put together an estimate for repairs that ended up costing over $2,700 before leaving. I was under the impression that an AC tune-up included basic cleaning and maintenance, including checking or cleaning the air filters and making sure the system was operating properly. Instead, the entire visit felt like it was focused on finding repairs to sell me rather than actually performing a tune-up. I ultimately declined the $2,700+ repair, and guess what? The AC is still working perfectly fine today. Based on my experience, it was very apparent that the technician was primarily focused on selling me a repair rather than providing the tune-up service I had requested. Very disappointing experience and I would not recommend this company.

They were able to send Travis, a journeyman plumber, out the same day. From the start, I was impressed by his attention to detail and ability to quickly assess the situation. I hired Pure Plumbing on the spot for the emergency repair and the full water-line replacement that I knew would eventually be necessary. Although the company was booked through the following week, Travis made it clear that he would personally start and finish the job immediately if that was what it took. The project came with several unexpected complications, but Travis remained calm and resourceful, brainstorming practical solutions for every issue that arose. After a tremendous amount of digging, much of it done by Travis himself, he successfully replaced the entire water main line from my garage to the street. Travis truly went above and beyond at every stage, from the initial emergency repair through each challenge that followed. They do have polite people and do decent work but I did not have a good experience with their repair business. An annual inspection turned up a couple of small problems - low refrigerant in a system and a nearly failed condenser fan in another. No argument with that conclusion so I said go ahead with fixes. Got the invoice and should have paid more attention - a price gouge of epic proportions. Here's what I sent them that got rejected by their system: PS - registered professional engineer who should have paid more attention. 'I was not here when this work was finished, and I have no issue at all with the technician and work performed. He was professional. I agreed to all of the work. But I regret now not doing additional homework on the cost. A one pound 410a add should cost more like $100 at the high end all in. Easy to find on google or Yelp), given you can get a 25 lb Jug in the range of $250. And yes, there is labor and overhead in that , but for for a 30 minute job $325 seems excessive. I also was able to source the replacement fan motor with an identical Lennox model# from a number of sources- from around $200. Again, that doesn't include labor. So if I'm generous, you got $300 in parts, add 20% for miscellaneous. And yes, I get that there is 'Bob's guarantee' and you have overhead, but an 1800+ bill for less than two labor hours of work, make it 3 with travel time and even at 150 per hour - and maybe 450 in parts and material -the total markup at 2x is to me excessive. Plus your billing is deficient in the level of detail so it's even hard to understand how you could add it up to that much. My wife paid the bill of course, but with these prices even though the service is good I won't be using or recommending Bobs for repairs in the future. I'll do my homework.' PS - last postscript. You may have noticed Bob's no longer responds to Yelp reviews. Must be too busy. Or they don't care. Neither one is a good sign.
