I'm very disappointed in this place I ordered 1dish here, they literally charged 6% on sales tax and plus service tax 18% on top of that My meal was only $14 and total came out to be $18. I dare say my experience here with friends last night was much much more positive than years back. The customer service aspect has greatly improved. Though they were busy, we weren't neglected or seemed to be less than desirable guests in their eyes. The hubs ordered the short rib in a spicy soup (#13 from the dinner section) while I ordered the dumpling soup with rice cake (#10 from the dinner section). Both were great soups. We only wished my dumplings and rice cakes were in his spicy broth. That would have been the best combination. Lol. His short rib soup was good. Though it was "spicy," it was super manageable. There was a good amount of meat and some noodles at the bottom. You can get brown rice (or rather the purple looking rice) at no extra charge. My dumpling soup with rice cake was great. After taking my temperature I was seated. Actually the first indoor restaurant meal I've had in several months! I just got to Atlanta and this place was 24 hours, so this was the choice. I had the #13 Maewoon Galbitang, or short b in spicy soup. First off the portion was huge. I had plenty of soup and more than plenty short rib to fill it up. There's a little bit of glass noodle but not much if any veggies. I thought some green onion might add nicely to it, but either way, it was delicious. Korean BBQ is definitely not always all you can eat and with this place, that is a fact. I came here to have dinner with my mother and she recommended this place so we met and just gorged on food (by we, I mean me). Traditionally, Korean BBQ is not all you can eat and they make most of their money on add ons in terms of other food and that is where they make the bulk of the profits. If you order BBQ, they upsell on the stews, and of course, normal Korean way, you have to order the cold beef noodles. A meal for 2 rounds out to about $100 with tax and tip making this expensive as ever. That's not to say the meat quality isn't bad because you are getting what you paid for! The meat is great! The rib meat and the ribeye are both tender, flavorful, with plenty of marbling so you know there's going to be a great amount of flavor. About everything on the menu from the stew to the cold noodles are mediocre. They overdo it with the MSG because I could barely finish the cold noodles or the stew as it left a funky feeling in my mouth. The lettuce for wraps were left pretty wet and leaked all over. The inside while busy and they claim to now be a 24/7 restaurant which means you can eat at 3 in the morning, it's pretty dank in their. The tables are greasy, it's lighting is sleepy and exhausting to be in. The service is spot on as they check in on you regularly to flip your meat but as with any one stop K-BBQ place, the servers also try to up sell you on other items than the one you want which is par for the course. It's a decent place to eat but save up and make it a great occasion because the prices are not what I recommend if you want Korean BBQ because if you're dropping $100+ for 2 on K-BBQ, might as well spend less than that on all you can eat and still have money left for dessert. read more

I came here for an early dinner with my mom. The hostess greeted us as we walked into the restaurant. The restaurant requires the customer to wear a mask but the hostess wasn't wearing one which I found to be very strange. Our waiter had his mask on but it was worn under his nose. We were immediately seated since there were hardly any customers. Our waiter handed us our menus and my mom and I already knew what we wanted since this was the second time we came here since the Covid-19 Pandemic. I ordered the Galbi Gui which was the marinated grilled short ribs and Yook Hwe which was raw beef (sliced thinly) with egg yolk and Korean Pear (sliced thinly) on top. Galbi Gui - $37.99 Yuk Hwe - $25.99 There was another waitress (ahjooma) who asked us what we wanted to drink and my mom told her, "barley tea, please" in Korean. Soon after our drinks were served, the Banchan (side dishes) came out. It was mainly kimchi and I'm not a fan of kimchi but I tried some anyway. The cucumber kimchi tasted old and mushy. It's supposed to have a crunch and a nice crisp taste but instead it tasted old like it's been left out for days. Not good. The white radish kimchi tasted good out of the other kimchi that was served to us. Our waiter was a young Korean man and he was attentive and friendly. He refilled the white radish kimchi right away. There were also the Chinese cabbage kimchi but we didn't eat that one. There was also potato salad and stir-fried thinly sliced potatoes with sliced beef. The potato salad tasted fine but the beef that was in the stir-fried potato tasted bland and flavorless. I normally eat banchan but that day I didn't really eat them. The Yuk Hwe came out a little after our banchan was served which was great because the first time I came here the Yuk Hwe came out after my main entrée came out which was disappointing. My mom looked at the Yuk Hwe and told me that they already mixed the egg yolk in with the raw beef and I wish they hadn't done that because I wanted to take a nice picture of it. Other than that, it tasted less sweet than the first time I've tried it. Don't get me wrong, it was still good! But it would've tasted a lot better if it was a bit sweeter. After a few minutes later, the Galbi Gui came out and oh boy! Oh boy! Oh boy! I was soooooooo EXCITED to dig in! Hahaha!!! But for the amount of galbi that's served doesn't match up with the price (but I know that the price is going up for everything right now). But hey! But we were satisfied because we ate everything on that stone plate full of grilled galbi. The galbi gui (grilled galbi) also had grilled onions and mushrooms. The galbi tasted sweet but not overly sweet and it's the best I ever had! So if you're craving to eat galbi, then I suggest you come here and order it! You won't regret it! This meal comes out with a bowl of hot white rice and a bowl of the "Soup of the Day". The soup tasted very greasy. It just tasted like I was drinking a tub of grease. Our server walked by and my mom flagged him down and told him the soup had a very oily, grease-like flavor. She asked him if he could replace it with a different soup, but he said that the cook made a huge tub of that soup and there wasn't anything he could do. I mean he couldn't anyway, because he's just the server, not the cook. So we shrugged it off and just didn't touch the nasty soup. Also, I wanted to say that if you're going to eat out it's rude to give less than 20% tip to your waiter/waitress. If you can't afford to tip them at 20%, then save your money and eat at home. Typically, other places will only give you like 3 pcs, some bones and sliced beef... there, I counted around 5 bones with beef on them and few more. The soup was seasoned very well, the only drop back would be that the radish was undercooked... the inside was not cooked all the way... in this aspect they should have cooked the soup for 5 more minutes so the radish would cook. Due to limited hours elsewhere, we resorted to this 24/7 restaurant. Although there was plenty of seating, the waitress sat us right next to other tables, which is worrisome. They had one waitress working the entire floor, so she barely had time to refill our drinks or check on our table. Even after ringing the service bell, we weren't helped. Towards the end of our meal, she noticed that we were out of water and side dishes, then proceeded to refill them. As for the food, we had a variation of different spicy tofu soups (soondubu) and an order of bibimbap. As for the soondubu, they all tasted incredibly different -- I would only recommend the beef and seafood, since the mushroom tofu soup had little to no flavor. Moreover, I wasn't impressed with the amount of ingredients in the soup. DDok-mandu kook tasted ok and amount was good, but One of our order was a combo Kalbi and SoonTobu whose price was $33.00 For Kalbi, there were exactly three pieces of meat on top of heavy bone. Seo Ra Beol continues to be one of my favorite Korean restaurants in the Atlanta area. It seems to offer everything: delicious Korean cuisine from soups and stews to noodles and rice to BBQ meats and everything in between, 24/7 operating hours, multiple rooms and dining areas, outstanding and friendly service, and it's a great place for group dining, both large and small. This review update will cover some new dishes I've tried since posting my original review. It also covers better the group dining experience. Please see my original review below for additional info on Seo Ra Beol including the restaurant space, menu, and detailed thoughts on several other popular and recommended dishes. One of my recent visits to Seo Ra Beol involved a large group of 16+. We had reservations on a Saturday night and were given the biggest room in the house -- a private room in the back, past the kitchen entrance. It sports a karaoke machine, two flat screen Samsung TVs, a ceiling-mounted projector, and a podium with microphone. Most of my visits to Seo Ra Beol have been with groups (of varying sizes). I think I've now eaten in every room this restaurant has to offer. The preset menus are *highly recommended* for group dining. That's what we did. They have four preset menus for groups, labeled "Menu A" through "Menu D." Menu A feeds 6 ($135 or $22.50/person), B feeds 8 ($194 or $24.25/person), C feeds 10 ($224 or $22.40/person), and D feeds 12 ($280 or $23.33/person). The number of courses gradually increases from Menu A to Menu C. Menus C and D have the same dishes, except the quantity is larger for D. We went with two orders of Menu B, which consists of: Roast Pyun Chae - cold slices of roast beef, sprouts, jalapeno, garlic, radish, shredded greens, wasabi, spicy mustard Hae Mul Pa Jun - seafood pancake with squid, shrimp, green onion, jalapeno Whole mackerel Gal Bi Gui - marinated grilled short ribs Jae Yook Bo Ssam - pork belly cabbage wrap with pickled spicy daikon radish Sang Dae Gu Jun Gol - cod stew Aagu Jjim - bean sprouts and braised fish Nang Myun - cold noodle soup Dduk Man Doo Gook - rice cake dumping soup (hot) Sighye - sweet rice dessert drink Note: To avoid confusion, the spellings of the Korean names of the above dishes are consistent with the spellings in the menu. I've eaten a lot of Korean food over my lifetime, yet I hadn't tried several items in this particular spread before. I wasn't the only one. I dined with several Koreans, many of whom are also Yelpers, and none of them had tried any of these dishes either. Banchan (complementary Korean side dishes) consisted of various spicy pickled vegetables including greens, bracken, bean sprouts, cabbage (kimchi), jalapeno, onion, and daikon. Overall quality was fresh and good. The Roast Pyun Chae has nice presentation. Small, thin slices of roast beef are arranged on the outside of a circular plate. In the middle are raw veggies such as shredded greens, radish, and sprouts along with garlic and jalapeno slices. This is a "cold" appetizer, meaning the meat is not hot. One way to eat this dish is to place a strip of beef on your plate and then add tiny amounts of veggies on top. The beef strip can act as a wrap which you can then dip into the supplied dipping sauce. Clumps of wasabi and spicy mustarded are provided. Quite tasty. The Hae Mul Pa Jun (seafood pancake) is served in a black iron skillet atop a wooden base. The pancake is pre-sliced into individual-size pieces. Despite the typical presence of jalapenos in this dish, Seo Ra Beol's seafood pancake is not as spicy as most other Korean restaurants' versions. The whole mackerel is served with bones and all. These whole fishes are common side dishes at Korean restaurants. Most of the time, they're deep-fried with a crispy coat of batter. Not here. Seo Ra Beol's version is more grilled or sauteed and meatier. The fish comes with a lemon wedge and ginger. The Jae Yook Bo Ssam features pork belly, but not in the traditional Korean BBQ sense. It's served "cold." I believe the meat is steamed. You can see three layers of pork, which include the various fatty and meaty portions. The pork belly is cut into bite-size pieces which you can combine with the supplied cabbage leaves and spicy shredded daikon radish. Relatively speaking, it's not as greasy as its grill-it-yourself counterpart. Certainly a worthy change of pace if you like pork belly and want to try a different style. The Sang Dae Gu Jun Gol (cod stew) and the Aagu Jjim (bean sprouts and braised fish) are okay. In the stew, the cod comes with bones. In the Aagu Jjim, the bean sprouts serve sort of like noodles. The Gal Bi Gui (marinated BBQ short ribs), Nang Myun (cold noodle soup), and Dduk Man Doo Gook (rice cake and dumpling soup) are all outstanding and highly recommended on their own. I'm not sure if this was added because of our group size (6) or if that's just standard, but regardless, I found their service to be undeserving of an 18% tip. Part of our table did KBBQ and my goodness I felt so bad for them. The meat is a hella rip off, it's actually criminal. Portion sizes are pathetic on the KBBQ and I heard it wasn't even that good. Don't do it - you've been warned. I got the beef soondubu which was alright. I still find it absurd that a soup with cheap meat, tofu, and veggies costs $16 but whatever. I asked for mild and when they brought it out they realized they didn't adjust the spice level, so they took it back and re-made it. I'll give them points for realizing it and correcting their mistake without me having to say anything. My biggest complaints on this place are the poor service and how overpriced it is. The restaurant is located right off of Steve Reynold's, but you are also able to enter from Pleasant Hill through the Arby's parking lot. This place is actually big with plenty of parking, especially at night since it was mostly empty. The server were extremely nice and patient with us since we took a while to decide. Hubs and I ordered brisket and short ribs for the bbq grill and also this spicy rice cake dish. The bonchon (side dishes) were good. There were a ton of variety! The quality of meat was okay, but the boneless short ribs were very flavorful! We enjoyed it since we haven't had kbbq in forever. The spicy rice cake with the fish cake dish was delicious. My first time trying it and I was happy with it, especially with allllll the fish cakes in it. My favorite part! They did, however, served us spoiled soup that came with the meal, which was upsetting. Overall, this place is okays. I've had way much better kbbq, but none of them open late like this one! Yep, they are open everyday and at all times (24 hours). They also have most Korean style meat, noodle, and soup dishes covered. However, the food just seems really bland to me. Also, we asked for spicy and the food was not made spicy. Make sure to ask about the daily specials, because they are not posted anywhere for new customers, you just have to be in-the-know. Also, if there is a dish that you are craving, don't let the angry waitresses scare you, and just ask for what you want. Sometimes you will get treated better that way because they give you "street cred." If you visit at anytime other than lunch, the prices are all dinner menu prices. Some dishes are extremely expensive, as if So Ra Beol is the only Korean restaurant in the area. The ajummas here are really angry, but maybe it is because we continue to catch them at the end of their shift. The panchan is at room temperature and does not seem to be very fresh and some dishes are too sweet. There are also fruit flies. Usually I would have taken my parents to Buford Highway for Korean tofu soup but since we were already in the area for a grocery run at Great Wall, we gave Seo Ra Beol a shot. We were seated by a kind Korean lady. My parents automatically received warm barley, while my sister and I got cups of ice water. I guess we did look like we were still kids. We took a little time to decide, but settled on a few main entree dishes for everyone to share. We ordered: Seafood pancake Tofu soup Galbi (short ribs) Dolsot Bibimbap Bulgogi It took quite a while to get our food, which was surprising since there were very few restaurant patrons. Hidden in the middle of a not so busy plaza is this gold mine. This 24-hr Korean bbq is as authentic as it gets. You get the feeling of traditional Korean food as you walk in. The menu is kind of complicated but we normally order off the pictures. I really enjoy the bbq here bc it's cooked on a charcoal grill and they offer many side dishes as well. We got the combo A which came with 4 different meats and it wasn't a lot either. The waitress (a Korean lady) was nice until the end when we didn't tip her the amount she wanted. I ordered the galbi tang based on a few reviews that said it was really good. It is. This is probably one of the best ones that I've had. It had a lot of meat and a really deep flavor. It also had quite a bit of radish which I enjoy. I also ordered the steamed egg appetizer which had a very strange taste to it. I don't know if it was because it got burned in the pot, but it was definitely a darker color around the edges. it almost tasted like the eggs were off, though I know they weren't so I'm wondering what the flavor was. I had a few spoonfuls and left the rest. The banchan had a different variety than what I'm used to which is nice, but none of them were particularly good. Their potato salad was really flavorless and their kimchi tasted strange. I'm wondering where they got it, because the last time I was at Jang Su Jang it tasted that way too. Almost like it had something a little bitter that numbs your tongue in it.. In the morning the place was quiet with very few people in it. The man who served me was almost running to get my order in seat me, so he was very attentive. just like the other comments said, they only serve you right if you're Korean. This might be funny because I noticed that they gave tables around us glass water cup but for us plastic ones . When this lady was cooking the meat, she threw them on the grill like she mad at it . Then when we to check out and signed, this old b said "tips?" Bc she didn't see we put anything on the receipt, when my gf was literally about to give her cash tips. I honestly like the young girl serve there. Absolutely disappointed and disgusted. The old waitress was super rushed and careless. There was no even minimum service, no menu in the first 30 minutes, no side dishes, no sauce for bibimbap, and no spouse for every person. They said they couldn't sell us drinks, and we said we understood and gave up, but the restaurant gave many bottles of beer to next Korean tables that came after us? The old Korean lady ignored whatever you were asking, and we found that she was intentionally doing it later on. She kept acting implied body language to show how she hated customers (Puke). She also cursed in the Korean language because 18% of tips did not sacrifice her. This restaurant had been open for many years, and I found no problem in the past. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. This place just had me and my friend sit down, wait 30 minutes while they cook this other table in front of us cook their entire self served Korean bbq entrees..... no one asked us what we want to eat nor ask how we were doing..... I would never recommend this place to anyone, worst service ever! read more

Great restaurant and food! Some days are busy, but never had to wait a long time to get a seat. The prices are decent, but the quality of the food is great! I like that they have the buttons to press to get a waitress/waiter to bring more food/water. read more
