Overall a decent spot. I thought the food fell a bit short, but the service was nice and professional. I like the setup of getting your food from the counter after you place your order. I'll be coming back to try a few other items on my list that look promising. I enjoyed their cute decor as it adds to the mood. The rice and bimbap bowls were good. Lots of filler (cucumber and carrots) in the bimbap bowls and not as much beef. The desserts are too sweet along with the strawberry lemonade. The service was quick and efficient. The ambiance is cute and simple. read more

I was so excited to try this restaurant ! I loved their strawberry and matcha drink. I tried there food and it was ok. It tasted like it was missing something it was a bit dry. The panacotta tasted like flavorless jello. However cuteness factor of everything was a 10/10. It was also very difficult to order due to the menu constantly changing . I wish they had the menu all on one screen. Versus flipping through. I would come back for drinks if the wait time goes down in the future. But honestly the wait time was not bad at all. Staff was super friendly! The cafe decor and furniture is super cute. You can choose any wall snap a photo for the gram. For first timers, definitely try the drink and dessert. Introverts can order from the kiosk and sit at one of the benches without being harassed by the waitress asking whether or not your food is good while you have a mouthful of food mid-chew trying not to choke. The desserts look too adorable to eat! The quality of the food is fresh however the only reason I am not giving the place a 5 star is due to the flavor of the food. It's a bit bland and falls flat. This was our first time here, 9 days after they opened. Ambiance was modern, clean, minimalist and trendy. All of our food was fresh and tasted good, some of it tasted very good. Placing an order was not as user friendly as it could be - it was a bit confusing about the process (counter vs kiosk) and getting questions answered about the menu was challenging as the info was scattered in a few different places. All in all, I loved it and will be back to try more options and reorder some faves from this time! read more

Great atmosphere and space. My issue is the food is with the food. Mediocre with small portions and not the place you would want to go to if you're craving authentic korean food, especially since Rochester has (surprisingly) good korean options outside of this. Nice to come for a quick bite but just don't expect the bite to be amazing. I would give it 2.5 if yelp allowed me to. Also, limited soup selection but that is more of a personal issue and was not factored into the score. read more

Great place for simple flavorful meals- I particularly like the tuna kimbab (the spicy one was too spicy for me) and the tteokbokki (love both the cream and original spicy!). I tried the matcha strawberry drink which was very sweet and creamy. Haven't tried the dessert yet but someday would love to come back to try the tiramisu! My love of Korean culture started with Korean dramas on Netflix no matter what genre I saw, one thing the shows had in common was all the yummy food. Coming from Houston, there were time of opportunities to try foods of all cultures. Since moving here to Rochester, I hadn't been able to find a good Korean spot...cue Seoul Drop! First let me start with the ambiance. It's definitely casual--lots of students come here for a nutritious meal while studying. There are booths, tall tables, and cozy spots to bring your laptop/books/etc for a study session. It's bright and airy. I ordered the tteok-bokki, which is soft, chewy rice sticks spiced up with gochujang. The original Rameyon really hit the spot because I came in craving spicy soup. The flavor was not too salty, but still had a nice spice to it. The bulgogi ingredients were super fresh! I will be honest, I think I've had more flavorful beef bulgogi, this one wasn't bad but nothing astounding. My absolute favorite things I got were the desserts. The sleepy chocolate mousse bear was so "melt in your mouth" good. I've been dreaming of having it again. Their drinks are also yummy, a bit too sweet/thick in my opinion, but my husband loved it. Staff is very friendly and had lots of suggestions and was able to explain everything in their menu. Another thing I love is that the prices were VERY reasonable and they don't skimp on quality. Seoul Drop was truly phenomenal when it first opened. I was so hyped that an affordable, causal Korean Restaurant was open in Rochester. The bulgogi kimbap and tteokbokki with a black sesame latte were my favorites. But in recent months the overall quality of the food has dipped. The past two times I have visited the food was poorly executed and disappointing. The real bummer was the nearly flavorless tteokbokki I got with my meal last visit. It feels like whomever is assembling the order didn't seem to really care? It's also a bummer they keep changing the menu and taking dishes off referring to them as "seasonal". I understand limited time specials etc, but it feels like they are trying to do too much and it's not all working out. I hope they can find better help and hopefully improve the ability to maintain a consistent and well-executed menu. read more

I visited Seoul Drop on their opening day, so I would have initially given a 3 star review - BUT - we know how openings go, and it's sometimes hard to predict what the flow of clients is going to be like. I can say for sure, they have top-notch marketing and social media presence, because SO many people came out on the first day. I know with time they will iron out the wrinkles and it will be great. Couple of things: 1. I like the option to use the tablet/kiosks. This is great for those of us who don't like to talk to other people. But they do have one register for those who need to ask a real person a million questions. 2. The bulgogi kimbab was very good. The ingredients were clearly fresh and I would order this again. (The kimbab was actually my friend's order that I snagged pieces of because...) 3. Every item I ordered at the kiosk was unfortunately sold out by the time my ticket was actually printed for preparation. So I will have to come back for the ramen, the strawberry pannacotta cat, and a grape bong bong to drink and evaluate again. And even though everything was out, I did get a japchae and a complimentary soda and a full refund. 4. Speaking of money - the prices are definitely reasonable. This is definitely cheaper than your traditional sit-down Korean restaurant. 5. The space is nicely decorated and relaxing. 6. Location is great - plenty of parking in the plaza and close to many doctor's offices. It'll be a great way to spend my half day off next time I've got an appointment. 7. Staff were clearly overwhelmed on the first day, but that is to be expected. But they were friendly and helpful when you had the chance to speak to them. I think the only thing I would have suggested is that they communicate more clearly to their patrons that they were out of a lot of the items. A sign on the door much earlier would have been a helpful gesture as well as having an adult managerial type person communicate with the crowds. It did seem like most of the employees were kids (possibly without this kind of experiene before). So a solid 3, but a 4 because I think they have the potential to remedy their first week woes and will get on their feet. The food I did have was good (well, except for the blueberry cat... tbh it's more for the instagram than for eating), and I am sure that I will be back. We came here excited to try the bulgogi. Reviews gave this place 4.5 stars and the photos looked good. Unfortunately the experience was not what we were hoping for. The bulgogi was overcooked, dry, and didn't have the traditional bulgogi flavor. I got the side dish of yakisoba noodles in terriyaki sauce - it was not worth the extra "meal upgrade" price. Too salty. Portion sizes were small. Service was also subpar. Not very welcoming or helpful with the menu items. My son wanted the ramyan, but plain (broth with noodles, no veggies). It was delivered with bits of veggies. He also asked for it to be mild, not spicy. It was spicy. He couldn't eat it. Tasted and looked like they just opened a package of ramen you can buy at the Asian stores for $2. Low quality and waste of money at $7. Only positive there was the iced chai latte. Was planning to try the desserts but the poor tasting food changed my mind. Very disappointing meal and experience. read more

Seoul Drop is the best addition to Rochester! The ambiance, food, service is top tier and it feels just like home back in Korea. The flavors are obviously tasty, but also feel fresh, clean, and healthy. The space? So wide and outlets everywhere, so it's the perfect place to eat, catch up with friends, or study. And the prices are unbeatable... a no tip policy and four items I ordered came out to about $26 total! I've seen this place all over my media for a while and I was excited to go in person. The place itself was cute and cozy although it could use a little more lightning. The girl who was working at the front was nice, bubbly, and quick with your job. The food looked very presentable with nice portions but it didn't meat my standards I wish just it had a little more flavor but is also one of my first times trying Korean food. If you consider the place more of a cafe for deserts and drinks, then you may enjoy it. My mom and I went about a week after they opened, and were... disappointed to say the least. She ordered the Bimbibop and I ordered the fried pork. Fried pork tasted like fryer grease and not much else. She said the Bimbibop was "too fancy", using sandwich beef and English cucumbers. The fried rice she got as a side was also odd. Fried rice is usually never a side, and this fried rice was just scrambled egg mixed with rice. If there's any advice I could give the chefs, it's **Salt!** Everything tasted like there was no seasoning, like they were relying on the sauce to do the flavoring. Not everyone wants sauce, so you have to make sure your dish can stand up on it's own, and the sauce only adds to it. Service was excellent, ambiance was good.
