We had a fabulous experience and loved the food right when you walk in you're hit with the amazing smell of the barbecue on the grill And we were super excited to eat! We had a great server who unfortunately I cannot remember their name to shout out, but we got some delicious cuts of meat, veggies, and bao buns. As well as a heaping portion of white rice. I saw many people having Boba with their meals, and I almost ordered some, but I just couldn't figure out how they were able to drink Boba on top of eating all they can eat Korean barbecue. The side dishes that came with the meal were also delicious and I love that they gave you a mochi ice cream at the end. The ONLY kbbq in Rochester. I've been twice and both times were similar in taste and experience. Service is great. Food is not. Very small number of meat to order. Only one kind of marinade available for these meats and it's way too sweet. Not good quality meat. Most of it sticks together and you cannot grill properly. The grill plate has parchment paper...there is a side with a more Japanese style grill but this one doesn't heat up enough. Sides are not good at all and rice was very dry. If you really really are craving kbbq and are stuck in Rochester, maybe go for a visit? Sadly you will be disappointed either way. read more

The food was very good. The meat was fresh and cooked well on the grill. I wish they had a particular cut of beef (thin sliced brisket), but what they had was delicious. The servers came to us often to check. It was a down time (2:30 in the afternoon) so it wasn't very busy. Because it wasn't busy the place was clam and peaceful. The only gripe is that the grill needed to be reset because it wasn't heating up quickly in the beginning. That took up about 15 to 20 minutes of our time. Met another couple here for a double date night and had a great time! The booths are roomy and comfortable, intimate and not too noisy! Parking is ample, good location at Greece Ridge Mall. We had never experienced Korean BBQ before, but the waitress was able to give us a run down - the flat top grill is in the middle of the table, they bring out the raw meats for you too cook! There was a lot of options - shrimp, beef, chicken, steak. They also bring out lettuce, rice, steamed buns and vegetables as well for you to cook. I really enjoyed the beef and chicken bulgogi, it was a flavor I had never had before, was flavorful and mild! My party really enjoyed the shrimp as well. The boba tea was interesting and flavorful, I had never had it before! We didn't have many restrictions like the ones I see in previous reviews - we got 4 meats (1 for each person) each round, and two hours was plenty of time, as laid out in the rules on the menu. It broken into three sections All you can eat, cafeteria self service and bar area. The furniture and decor is modern and chic with a mix of open and semi private seating area. My daughter and I were greeted warmly by the staff, who took their time to explain their All you can eat and cafeteria self-serve options. We decided to go with the self serve route. We ordered two green teas ( 1 hot and 1 cold), Roasted Pork Rice Box and Beef Rice Box. OMG, everything was fresh and delicious. The rice was cook perfectly, not to sticky or dry. The veggies with fresh and crisp. The Pork and Beef was amazing. My daughter and love this place so much that we have been twice in the past month. This was a really fun experience. I really had no idea what to expect and was nervous about going due to some of the other reviews, but it was enjoyable. You do cook your own food, and there is a two hour time limit, but because it wasn't super busy, they didn't really enforce it. We really enjoyed our waitress too. I thought the food was very good! You're given a tray filled with different spices and sauces and another filled with toppings (or appetizers if you're me and my friends). Then you can pick the meats you want. It's all you can eat and some meats cost extra, but there was a great selection! You're then given lettuce leaves, buns and rice so you can decide how to eat your meat. We were able to order bubble tea right at the table and have it brought to us. It's $33 per person and after my drink and tip, it ended up being quite an expensive meal. Stopped in for a lunch when I was out traveling by myself. The setting was cozy and comfortable. Not too fancy, but with pretty dishes and comfortable booths. The food was great. I really recommend going with the seasoned options. I chose to stuff myself on seafood, but had a bit of some of the other choices too. The rice, steamed bread, salads, and other sides made the grilled food fun to eat and added a lot of variety. The bbq is definitely meat centric. Spicy Garlic Chimahsal was our favorite meat, spicy garlic chicken was good too! The buns were nice and fluffy. Seemed to take a bit for the grill to heat up but once it got going everything cooked fairly quickly. Definitely make a reservation first. We didn't know this and they were able to fit us in fairly quickly but it got busy fast. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because of the price. Yes, it's "all you can eat", but when you're cooking as you go, have to wait for refills of meat, and are given a 2 hour limit - you don't actually end up eating a ton. After our complaint, they agreed to double the amount, but the rice and buns are still 4 people portion.. Plus it takes them forever to order the next round. This is such a cool spot to have in Rochester! I came with 4 other people and we all had a great time. The food came out super fast too so you can get grillin right away. You are limited to how much you can order each round and honestly, that wasn't an issue at all for us. I'm actually glad they did that because it definitely prevented us from wasting food plus you get lots of sides/fillings with the meat. After 2 rounds of 8 meats total, everyone was stuffed. Favorites of the night were the pork belly and beef bulgogi. Shrimp and chicken were also very good but chicken took a long time to cook because the pieces were thicker. The flavors of everything were just so good! We loved all the sauces on the side too, just wish they provided a little spoon so it made it easier to add on top of the meat. Met some friends for dinner last week, so much fun, and such delicious food. It's easy in and out parking at the Mall, on the end so easy to find, next to Moe's. First let me say was a little nervous after reading reviews, it can be intimidating to figure out, but our waitress Melissa was great, she explained it well. Basically it's like Hibachi you pick the food but cook it as well. However that's the hot food portion, so if you want sushi or bowls you need to go to the other side and order. They give you a list of meats, you tell them want you want, they bring it out raw, and you cook it on the grill. They provide the rice, sauces breads, etc, and you can order more. It was a little pricey, and tip is included but it was so much fun, and I was stuffed so will definitely be back. Oh and the tea's are delicious. If you're looking for a fun new experience, and tasty food, give this place a try. read more

I literally made a yelp to write this review because I am so upset that I almost didn't go here after reading these reviews. I now have to assume the criticisms I read were mainly by people who haven't had Korean bbq before and had incorrect assumptions about what to expect. The food was delicious and my waitress was attentive and sweet. To address a few things I saw in the negative reviews: -The amount of food brought out was more than I would expect for the first round of all you can eat and everything I got was delicious. -My waitress was very attentive and brought things out quickly. -The price ($33 which includes a tip) is very reasonable for this type of meal and quality of food. I ended up adding an additional tip because of how good the service was but even including that I felt like I was got a great deal. -Two hours is standard for ANY all you can eat menu because without a limit people take advantage and pay once and camp out all day eating multiple meals. First time eating in the grill side of Bubble Tea. We made a reservation and had a party of 5 for 5:30 on a Friday night, when we arrived the restaurant wasn't very busy yet, by the time we left the restaurant had picked up so about every other table was seated). Our waitress did a fantastic job of explaining each meat, vegetables, sides and sauces. There was a slight learning curve cooking to your preferred doneness, but we were able to figure it out quickly. And came with unlimited lettuce wraps, rice, and steamed buns. The sauces and toppings were super flavorful and didn't overpower the meat. We tried both marinated and un-marinated meats and our favorite was the bourbon beef which was fatty and tender went well with the sesame oil on a steamed bun. We were able to ask for extra veggies like zucchini, onions, and mushrooms. For the 5 of us, we selected up to 4 things per round. We did 2 rounds. And barely were able to eat everything. (We all wanted to thank our waitress for going above and beyond we mentioned one in our group had a gluten allergy and she brought out 2 additional gluten free sauces and had helpful suggestions that made our experience that much as better.) Would recommend. Better in groups. Since you cook everything on a very hot grill on your table would not recommend for small children. Would recommend a reservation for groups. read more

I have to start off my review explaining the rules of their AYCE kbbq so the rest of this makes sense (these rules are also on the menu). 1. You are given a 2 hour limit 2. You are allowed 2 meats on the grill at a time. Because I went with 3 friends, we took turns ordering our meats (friend 1 orders their meats, then friend 2, then friend 3, and finally friend 4). Although you are only allowed 2 meats at a time, the servers will bring you your meat cuts as you wait for your friends to cook their meat. For example, my friend could be cooking her meat on the grill but my 2 meat cuts will be sitting on the table as I wait for her to finish. Now onto the actual review: Customer service was terrible. They messed up our reservations and tried to give my friend attitude as if she was in the wrong even though it was them that had messed up. Afterwards, we had to wait to get seated for about 15 minutes even though it wasn't that busy and there were plenty of clean, empty tables. Although that did not annoy me as much, it took forever to get our cuts of meat (it took me 30 minutes to get my first serving out of a 2 hour limit at an AYCE). To make things worse, they messed up my order and gave me cuts of meat I did not ask for. It took my friend about 30 minutes to get the drink she had ordered. The worst part was when I asked if I could order my second serving of meat and the waitress straight up told me "no". No apologies, no nothing. Just a straight up "no" in a rude tone. My friends and I were so stunned because it felt like I was a middle schooler getting scolded by my teacher. She had said no because there were 2 meats on the grill at the time (although I had 3 waiters serving my table in total and they all seemed to go by different rules). I was not expecting to have my order on the table right away (I was sticking to their rule) and was just asking if she could take my order and come back in 10-15 minutes (which was the general amount of time they took to bring out the next order of meats). The other waiters had no trouble giving us our cuts of meat even though there were already 2 meats on the grill. It does not make sense that we would have to cook our meats, finish it, then wait 10-15 minutes after we order between every order to get our next servings of meat, especially if there is a 2 hour limit. Although the taste of the kbbq was pretty good, it was not worth the terrible customer service and I will not be spending my money at this place again. Side note: there was 1 extremely kind waiter that had no issues taking our orders, was efficient, and asked us what we needed. Or just a nice dinner date because it's neat to do something a little different from the usual stuff in Rochester. The price is worth all you can eat! AYCE KBBQ restaurants are my favorite restaurants and I was excited that one had opened up in Rochester. I've done AYCE KBBQ in SF, Atlanta, NYC, etc so I am comparing this restaurant to those. Negatives: Just based on the price point given the available options, this place is severely overpriced compared to other places. There is a very limited meat menu. Most legit places include will include Kalbi in the AYCE menu. Also the 2 meat limit is the lowest I've ever seen. There is no other AYCE KBBQ that will charge you for more dipping sauces (my wife and I finished the sauces). Very limited bonchon sides. Grill doesn't get super hot so cooking times are increased (not sure if this is intentional). Positives: My wife and I were the first customers of the day on a weekday, which we intentionally planned for. We had a new waitress but she was attentive so we didn't have to wait long between meat orders. Meat was well seasoned. Sauces were good. Only AYCE KBBQ option in the area. Overall: I came in with low expectations but had a good experience. I think a large part of this was the fact that we only had 2 in our party and we were the only customers doing AYCE KBBQ at the time. Given the 2 meat limitation, extra sauce charge, and time limit I would not suggest going with a party of more than two and I also would not go during peak dinner times - I can imagine a frustrating dinner experience. I think it's a good experience for first timers to KBBQ, but people who have done AYCE KBBQ elsewhere might be disappointed. My guest and I walked in around 6 hoping to sit for the BBQ. They were very busy, but offered us a reservation at 7:30, which we accepted. We returned at 7:30 to find out a reservation was "made" but we were not assigned a table. They assured us that if we waited 15 minutes we'd be seated. Instead, they continued to seat other parties while ignoring us, despite us sitting in the same waiting area as the other parties. We waited for 45 minutes before deciding to leave. Understandable that they'd be so busy, but rather than offering a non-existent reservation, it would have been more professional/preferable to decline and offer a different date. The following day I called in to make a reservation for the following week. I was put on hold for 25 minutes before I decided to give up. Poor customer service to the point where I can't even comment on the food, although I'm sure it's tasty. Ok first of all the ones that are leaving "bad" reviews are the ones that aren't paying attention to the "rules" and understand that this restaurant had just open. Is it going to be perfect? No. It clearly states you have a 2 hour limit and a max of 2 meats per round. If you don't finish most of your food, you will get charge (as you should for wasting their delicious product). It may take them some time to attend to your table but what do you expect for a busy restaurant that just open?. The food is delicious and where else can you get Korean bbq in Rochester?!. It's an amazing experience to just sit, eat, and enjoy food with your peers. I was told they are working on their liquor license which is the way to go because who doesn't want liquor while they eat?!. It's basically a, you order what you want and you cook it. Don't expect the servers to consistently pop up on your table like a regular restaurant would. YOU order YOU cook. What more can you expect?!. I will def be returning just for the experience and delicious food. They just started and I know they will improve on their customer service and more.
