For the convenient of not having to drive half an hour to Fort Lee when craving comes for Korean BBQ, this just have to do. We order the Combo that comes with two BBQ beef and japchae or pancake. We chooses marinated Short rib and japchae. Beef was quite tough and lack favor. Japchae was too sweet. But you get what you pay for, price matches the food. Best Korean food I have had since I lived in Korea 12 years ago. You can NOT go wrong here.

I came here for dinner on a Friday and the restaurant smelled slightly like bleach. They had probably just cleaned the place or something, but I couldn't get the smell off my mind. They have a pretty decent special, buy 2 meats get a 3rd meat free. Still ends up being pretty expensive though, especially in comparison to other Korean BBQ joints. The grills here are gas, which makes it more convenient, but I prefer the hot charcoal used in other places.The service was pretty good even if it was crowded. I noted that there weren't very many Koreans eating here. Nothing special about this Korean BBQ joint other than the fact that it's not in the Fort Lee/Palisades Park area. read more

If you want Korean BBQ in Northern NJ, this is the place to be. We got #55 from the BBQ set menu, which is galbi, rib eye, and bulgogi. They cook it for you in front of you, which is nice. They also give lots of banchans (side dishes). Overall, it is a great place to get Korean BBQ. read more

I am Korean so I know how Korean BBQ should be. Also I don't write reviews unless they are exceptionally good or exceptionally terrible. We normally drive out to Fort Lee or Palisades Park but we gave a try last night. It was horrible decision! I am so pissed off that we spent close to $200 on garbage food. We ordered marinated galbi but it tasted very bland and my husband even stopped the server and asked if they were "marinated". Galbi was very thin and tough. I almost chocked and had to cough out few times. Also very small portion. My daughters love galbi so we normally order extra but after 3 pieces, my older one said they were bad and my younger one took one bite and she was done. She only had rice and steamed egg. I believe this restaurant just went under a rebranding, and had its "grand opening" last week. I have never been to the original restaurant, but visited last week for the dinner buffet, and I gotta say, I was impressed! The restaurant is pretty small, so expect to wait for a little bit, but it's worth it! There is also ample parking, so don't have to worry about that. Like a typical kbbq buffet you have some already made food, and your raw meats. I cant say much about the cooked food- but the meat selection.. oh.my.god. They have your typical bulgogi, pork belly, and galbi. The real showstopper here is the prime rib. You have to special order it, but it doesnt cost extra.. and it is the best piece of meat I've ever had at a kbbq buffet. The price is a bit more expensive at $40/pp for dinner, but I'll come back again and again! 1 EDIT: Knocking it down a star because I just learned the prime rib is not ayce. I hate to say it, but I do hope the management takes our comments seriously to fix this. The ambiance is terrible. You ask $40 per person, and the whole dining experience is poor. It just isn't worth the $40. Oh one more negative thing, upon walking in, there is a big sign that tells you that you have only 1.5 hour limit to eat. This place is great. I came here with my family for lunch. They have quite an extensive affordable lunch menu that includes lunch box specials, bibimbap, sundubu (soft tofu stew), as well as some other items. They start you off with a nice assortment of banchan, as do most Korean restaurants. We ordered the beef lunch box which comes with a generous amount of food (including marinated beef, salad, fried chicken, shumai, edamame, seaweed, broccoli, and a bowl of rice). We also ordered the galbi bibimbap which was served sizzling on a black stone plate as well as the sundubu. Everything tasted great and the lunch menu had a good variety at affordable prices (comparable to NYC prices). The service was also good and the wait staff was attentive to refilling water/tea cups and bringing extra hot sauce. The location is a bit random, but a good stop for a bite if you're on your way to Westfield Garden State Plaza which is just down the road. Food: Super impressed with the quality of the beef. We got the combo special (2 BBQ + seafoood pancake) one short rib and one bulgogi. The seafood pancake was pillowy like a deep dish pizza, yet crispy on the edges. Side dishes were plentiful and above average- even the quality of the kimchi was awesome. You could see the fermenting chili marinade rubbed generously in each and every cabbage leaf. The combo came with egg soufflé, a minor but essential piece to authentic Korean food. Be sure to ask for red bean rice instead of white rice! Service: There were both Korean and Chinese waitresses which helped in language barriers, and they were on their A game. Kind, attentive, and efficient. They didn't allow any of us to even touch the BBQ, but it was done so in a way like "just enjoy your meal, that's what we're here for." They changed clean grills before switching from the short ribs to bulgogi, a detail I much appreciated. Environment: unassuming outside (with ample parking) but very clean, brightly lit, and energetic inside. I don't where all these rave reviews are coming from.. Maybe it was just there off day today. Ordered the marinated galbi and my god that was one of the worst meats I ever had. Absolutely no flavor from the marinade and more than usual sinew from the beef. The worst part about it was how they cook it. They literally just simmered the beef on the grill plate and due to the marinade leaking out it was just steamed meat. No color or char. If you're going to call yourself a Galbi BBQ Restaurant at least do it right and properly train your staff how to cook the meat. I'm not spending $40/pp to butcher my meat (no pun intended). Our server cooked the Korean BBQ we ordered for us. The servers made sure our glasses were filled and it was never empty. They constantly checked up on us to make sure that the food was good and that our BBQ was cooking perfectly. Food 5 out of 5 I ordered the Teok Baegi Bulgolgi which is a Beef Stew served in a hot stone bowl. Inside the stew there are thinly sliced beef, rice cake , and japchae noodles. The soup was very flavorful and the meat tasted very tender. I ordered the lunch special which was plenty for me. The person I was with ordered a combination of Bulgoli, Shrimp, and Chicken for Korean BBQ. Everything was cooked perfectly to everyone's liking. I usually eat my Korean BBQ with Lettuce and the Bean Paste . I thought the Bean Paste tasted fantastic, it blended well with Bulgolgi, Shrimp, and Chicken. Affordability 5 out of 5 I think the prices were very reasonable. The Lunch special were fairly priced for the portion of the food. There was enough food to make everyone happy. Spent about $300 at the place today. Food was great and the waitresses were great too. If the owner is reviewing this, I had a big problem with the manager. We wanted to purchase one more to-go item to request that we get a ribeye for the 2 for 1 special. She thought I was asking for a freebie and literally told me to be quiet in the middle of my sentence in the MOST rude manner possible. The waitress finally listened to me and sorted it out. After the end of the meal with the family, I was supposed to end up with two ribeyes and a chicken to go. She then insists I am owed only one rib eye and one chicken because we ate the extra ribeye at the table. Waitress had to sort that out again. We also requested that she provide us with all the rice and banchans but NONE of them were included, which I found out after I got home. When I asked her if she was the owner, she answered with the fakest sweetest voice that she's just a manager. Good value and good BBQ. Seafood pancake had great texture but not enough seafood. I wish other places got that kind of crisp on their pancakes. Not much atmosphere but diligent service. Bon chon wasn't great for me which is a problem but perhaps it was an off night. The lack of a big dish of traditional kimchi was a conspicuous gap in that course. And this place can compete with those. They have a deal - buy two meat, chicken, or seafood entries and get one free. So we always just have three. You pick your meats and while they get that prepped they place a bunch of great sides on the table. Kimchi, pickles, fried egg, and rice just to name a few. They (waitress) will then come and help you cook the meat right on your table in front of you while you watch. It's like a spin on hibachi without the flaming volcano lol. The quality of the meat and sides is good too. Been numerous time and never had a bad experience. They can get busy on the weekends. I will say it does not have any special atmosphere. Came here last night for round 2 at Seoul Galbi hoping for a better experience than last time and I was very pleased with this visit! We had reservations for 3 people at 7PM arrived promptly and were seated rite away. To start they are having a pretty cool promotion going on where you buy 2 meats you get the 3rd on the house. We decided on the same meat we had ordered previously and was happy to see that the amount of meat had dramatically increased from our last experience. Our waitress Yoo Kyung was great! She helped us with explaining all the side dishes and was kind enough to let us know that all the side dishes can be refilled for free which I didn't know before. She cooked all of our meats to perfection and didn't rush us at all. The meats were amazing and the marinades really enhanced the flavors. I also really enjoyed the fried dumplings we ordered, they were a little bit greasy but just dab them with a napkin and you are good to go.
