    Spicy pork lunch
    Andrew K.

Amazing lunch specials here and a great assortment of Korean banchan. The spicy pork lunch special was really good and tastes exactly like what you would find at any Korean restaurant. There's a wide variety of banchan that you get and they were all very good. I believe it changes every day, but I've never had one bad banchan. They also sell marinated fried chicken and gimbap that are all worth getting. Every time I go there, I always ended up buying more than what I expected.

We had Mamison cater our son's birthday party and the food was excellent. Very authentic tasting and generous portions. We received rave reviews from all of our guests (including picky young kids). Very nice owner who accommodates dietary restrictions and prompt delivery to boot. Thank you!

I got their salmon lunchbox. It was good quantity and quality, and reasonably priced. I would come here again.

We had an amazing dining experience at Czen Restaurant and will definitely be back!…read more We started with the Oxtail Sushi appetizer, which was absolutely delicious and a perfect way to begin the meal. For the main courses, I ordered the oxtail with rice, which was a very generous portion and full of flavor. My partner had the salmon with Mandarin glaze and mashed potatoes, and it was outstanding--perfectly cooked and incredibly tasty. For dessert, we enjoyed the fried ice cream with purple sweet potato, which was unique and delicious. Two glasses of shandy wine complemented the meal beautifully. The atmosphere was fantastic, with great music and a lively, festive vibe. The hostess was wonderful--she took the time to chat with us, asked if it was our first visit, and checked whether we were familiar with the cuisine, which made us feel very welcome. Our server was exceptionally kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. He carefully explained the menu and even double-checked details for us to make sure everything was exactly right. Highly recommended for both the food and the outstanding service. We thoroughly enjoyed every part of our experience and look forward to returning soon!

Father's Day Brunch!…read more Four of us attended for the Father's Day brunch. After being seated I asked the waiter about the free Old Fashioned or Sangria dads were suppose to receive as per their IG post. The waiter tells me that was only for Saturday June 20th but he'll check with management. He comes back and states it was only for the 20th. I pull up the post which states 20th and 21st. He goes back to his manager and they honor it. Their IG post also mentions a surf & turf special for $59 (which is one of the main reasons I chose this restaurant). When I inquired with the waiter he stated it's only available for dinner (this is not mentioned anywhere on the post). Between the 4 of us we had several lobster tails with waffles, 1 person ordered hot honey chicken with waffles, 4 additional lobster tails and several sides of eggs with bacon. 3 waffle orders came out together and everything else came out staggered 20 - 30mins later. We repeatedly had to ask for the rest of the order. A friend had a Cadillac Margarita which was good. I attempted to order one and was told they ran out of Cointreau and Grand Marnier. How do you run out of the main ingredient for a standard margarita at 2pm on a Sunday?! Passion fruit wings along with a few other menu items were not available. All in all I wouldn't return to Czen. Although my waiter was very pleasant doing the best he could and the ambiance was nice, the restaurant was poorly prepared and brunch was poorly executed.

The restaurant had a nice interior, fancy bar, lots of arts and Cuban vibes all around. They had booth seating by the window that had good view of Hudson Terrace and I-9. We started our lunch with appetizer sampler that came with empanadas, croquettes, bao bans and potstickers. I liked both the empanadas (beef and chicken), the chicken potstickers were also good. Ham croquettes and the bao buns with shredded beef were average. For entree I ordered the Rabo Encendido (braised oxtail stew). It came with three pieces of bone with plenty of meat on them, on side of rice and beans. I loved the taste of the oxtail and the stew, was flavorful and meat was tender. I also got to try the seafood paella which lacked flavor, rice was so bland. The chicken & waffle's waffle was good but the fried chicken pieces were so basic. I got the mango mojito (non-achohol) that was so tasty, I ordered two of them. Our server was super nice, did an excellent job throughout the lunch. All staff members were friendly. Food came out in short intervals.

But again, blend. Chicken and waffle was dry. At least the chicken was seasoned on this one. Appetizer sampler was not bad. Get to try beef/chicken empanadas, chicken baos, pork croquettes, friend chicken dumplings. Ox tail was also blend to me. Overall the food was underwhelming but the service and atmosphere were nice.

Super umami with an intense kimchi flavor, the rice itself was a sticker rice as well and thoroughly flavored. The added brisket was rich and extremely tender, i tend not to be a brisket fan but this was a hit! Despite being on the pricey side the huge portion of food makes it reasonable. One note is I got the fresh mango fruit tea and I was not a fan, it was super sour and didn't really taste like tea whatsoever, more like a sour lemonade. Service was super quick, food came out in about 8 minutes piping hot. The inside is rather small but a few dining tables, i'd say it seems more like a takeout place with the front counter set up. But was still a solid dine in experience.

I was a delicious bowl filled with flavorful bulgogi ribeye beef mixed with lettuce. The beef phuh (pho) was excellent too. The server at the store was friendly. She explained a lot of the menu items to us and patiently punched in all of our items. The dishes came out in short time too. Overall I really liked the food but wish the dining space was better conditioned (wobbly table, old tile on floor, speaker right next to table blasting music)

I ordered the Unagi Don Gozen ($42)- it came with a whole tray of different delicious items, with the star of the show being a generous amount of unagi (eel) over rice. The eel was cooked very well and the rice was flavorful with a bit of sweetness. There was also a small bowl of udon noodles, some sashimi, a crispy tempura shrimp in a yummy creamy sauce, flavorful edamame, mashed potato with corn, and some pickled veggies - quite the diverse array, all of which was tasty. The restaurant itself has a rather simple yet elegant Japanese wooden design. The prices suggest it's a more high end place, but the vibe is actually rather casual. The staff are very attentive and the service speed is pretty quick. Overall, I would definitely give Moru 4.5 stars if I could. I think it's great for most types of occasions, and the only reasons it's not getting 5 stars is because I do think the prices are a tad higher than I would've hoped and I think they could've done a bit more in terms of designing the place to match the price point. That being said, I still highly recommend Moru, especially for a nice lunch.

The crispy octopus easily rivals anything I've had in Manhattan, super tender with just the right crisp. The cassava hash browns were so good I was almost annoyed by how simple they were. Paired with a rich, meaty sauce and a fresh fennel crunch, the whole dish was incredibly balanced. The wings were the most straightforward item on the menu (in the best way), lightly spiced, slightly sweet, and great for picky eaters. Someone needs to give the bartenders a raise. I ordered three drinks just to test consistency--every single one was balanced, spirit-forward, and not overly sweet. The presentation was different on each one and felt intentional without being gimmicky. I've seen some of the lower Yelp ratings and they mostly call out price, but this is very much a you get what you pay for situation. The quality of the food, the portion sizes (especially for this level of execution), and the overall intentionality behind the menu justify it in my opinion. Service was excellent. They squeezed me in last minute, and my waiter, Dionicio, handled my coconut allergy (not easy at a Dominican spot) with real care and ease. The space itself is worth mentioning - moody, mushroom/mossy interiors. Super cute, very well thought out, and definitely a place I'll be coming back to.

I've gone up and down the main street in Englewood countless times, and it wasn't until I was hit with a hankering for Korean food and did a quick search, only to find there was this hidden gem right off Palisade Avenue. From the outside, Best Dumpling doesn't seem like much. Nor does it seem like much from the inside. It's a squishy, two-floor space with just a few tables and chairs. On the first floor, most of the available space is taken up by the kitchen and the order window, but that's because they make everything fresh here. Dumplings dominate the menu (along with a few Korean stews and dishes, many of which feature said dumplings). I don't believe there's such thing as a 'best' dumpling, but that's because I love most dumplings I meet. When one of the owners overheard me waffling back and forth between the pork and broccoli/shrimp dumplings, she kindly offered to do a split order. Boy, was that fantastic. My preference is for fried dumplings, and they're done up perfectly here. I gasped quite when I bit into a pork dumpling and felt some of the juices dribble out of its skin. My greater surprise was how much better I liked the broccoli and shrimp. I can't think of another place that offers a filling like this one (plus the other interesting ones they've got here) and it was fantastic, especially with the accompanying garlic soy sauce. Believe me when I say there's a reason why they sell this sauce by the bottle. My husband's ramyun dish (complete with rice cakes and four beef dumplings) was also satisfying. Truth be told, it was something I could conjure up easily enough with a pack of Korean instant noodles and some of their frozen dumplings (also sold on site). But for a cold, fall night, this was a lovely meal. There's a small and graveled parking lot adjacent to the restaurant. I didn't spot any signage so I took a chance and left my car there with no issues. Parking in this part of Englewood is always a little tough so I consider it a huge boon that there's at least a few spots available. If you've got a yen for supporting small, super-local businesses or just a healthy appetite for fresh dumplings, you really can't get better than this small but mighty spot.
