Seems like we spend a lot of time in here. This is my wife's "candy" store so to speak. The thing about this location is that the staff is always supper helpful. They guide my wife to their suggestions, take their time to walk her through the how, what and why's, and then allow testing and such as well. We have never been here when we could not get decent help. However... I think that they should offer some classes on self application. There have been more then a few that have helped us that judging by their appearance I'm not sure are the best at giving makeup advice! I mean it isn't Halloween 24/7. I realize that is very judgey but who wants to take makeup advice from a clown, or Mimi from the Drew Carry show. You know what I mean. It's like going to a hair salon and the person who is going to cut your hair is dirty, has a jacked hair cut, and an attitude. Do you want them doing it? My friend recommended her services and I'm so grateful she did. I booked her for a full-face online through the Sephora website for my baby shower, and don't regret it one bit! Andreea made sure to ask me what I am most comfortable with when it comes to wearing make up, and what look I was going for. From there, she color-matched me and chose the perfect products to use on my combination skin. I also let her know I had to be out and done within 50 min, and she made it happen! She is so talented and worked her magic on me, and it turned out beautiful (especially for photos). Her friendliness made me all the more comfortable, and she was even kind enough to let me take photos of the products she used so that I could consider buying them in the future. I came to this store because they carry Bobbi Brown's stuff. I'm not a big makeup person and I don't really experiment with stuff. I sorta just stick to the basics and Bobbi's stuff is pretty good for girls like me... I wanted to buy Bobbi Brown's color corrector in peach $27 but they were out of it. I also was looking at Hourglass foundation as well. I've been using Bobbi Brown's for years but my more fashionable Korean friends all recommend this brand of foundation and I couldn't seem to get anyone to help me match the color....but to be fair it was Saturday and the place was packed... All is not lost. I did find out I've been using the wrong color of YSL touche eclat. I've been using luminous almond and I should be using luminous vanilla. So I bought one of those puppies....and got a Marc Jacobs gel eyeliner in blacquer (you know it's going to cost you when they call black eyeliner blacquer) I've been using Shu Umera's gel eyeliner that I got in Taiwan but they keep giving me raccoon eyes after a couple hours of wear...so I was told to try Marc Jacobs Beauty eyeliner to see if they will transfer after a few hours of wear...we will see.... Overall I think this is a good store. I think I still prefer going to Nordstrom for my Bobbi Brown stuff only because I think Nordstrom has better customer service and they let you return basically anything even without a receipt.... I will say that Sephora's house brand is made by Christian Dior and they're way cheaper than the name brand stuff so if you have time to browse through their stuff...definitely check out their house brand.... read more

I have worked in customer service/management for years and was disgusted at the way the store manager approached me. I was never told about the 30 day return policy, I was one day late, and the women would not even consider giving me a refund. I love this store. I REALLY love this store. This weekend I received my first Sephora makeover and it was such a wonderful experience. If you haven't tried it, please do so. The makeup artist went over all the products that she used and showed me techniques on how to use them properly. I have to say, I looked pretty good after my face beat. LOL The store is located in North Point Mall and carried almost every cosmetic line you'll ever need in one place. They carry wonderful skin products to help tighten up my wrinkles and brighten up those dark circles under my eyes. When you walk in the store, there is always a friendly face to answer any question you may have. I especially love, Christian. He's such a burst of energy and very helpful. From the previous reviews I've read it looks like this store is going downhill. I went there two days ago to buy foundation. Store was not terribly busy. I knew the product I wanted but needed help in picking the color. Saw one employee who wasn't busy and just as I was about ask for help a group of about six people who obviously knew her came in and my chance of getting help was no more. Went on 5/31/2020. I waited in mine to get in, not a problem, it's a sign of the times. The person working the door was lovely. I was there for a specific item with intent to purchase. It was my turn to go in. I was greeted with "how can I help you" and said just looking at fragrance. She said to let them know if I needed anything. All was going well!! Found the fragrance I went in to look at. I was there maybe 45 seconds. Another employee came up behind me and asked what fragrance could she spray for me. I told her I was good that I was just deciding if I wanted the oil or EDP. She preceded to explain that they are supposed to touch the product and would pull the product for me. Ok. But then she just stood there trying to get me to decide. PRESSURE!! I've been in the store maybe 2 mins. I understand they want to flow people in and out but geez!!! I've shopped at Sephora a ton of times but I haven't bought new makeup in a while. I always get my foundation at MAC but I decided to try something new. Now when I say full coverage I mean FULL COVERAGE. Sometimes when people do my makeup I can still see dark spots and imperfections and I have to go home and touch it up. Anusha *sp* had my foundation on point! I was very happy. She was also super knowledgeable and I ended up buying not just foundation but primer, concealer, brushes, bronzer, and more. She said she had been working there for like 10+ years and totally knew what she was talking about. I was incredibly hesitant to go chat about my skin when I went to visit this location. Days before I went to a high end store asking for direction for the texture problem areas on my skin. The woman who assisted me prior to Sephora pushed overpriced product and was not listening to me. So I had skin care PTSD of sorts. Including chemical burn style skin! But when I met w Linda and the other associate they were kind and heard me, the looked closely at my skin and asked me what I was using and what I had been sold by the sales person at the aforementioned counter. They honestly told me what they suggested keeping and what was too strong. Never pushing a sale at all! I ended up exchanging the far too harsh for me purchases for the goodies they suggested and my skin has never looked or felt better. This location is located at North Point Mall. There is another Sephora store at this mall, but it is located inside JcPenney. I've been to this location as well, but there isn't a Yelp tag for it. Well, perhaps it isn't visible to me due to the way I'm conducting my search. Anyway... Loved the sale area here. :) The associates here are pretty friendly as well. They are so picky about upholding a proper image. Let me explain what I mean. I was here browsing around trying to kill time. Plus, this location had the Wen product while the one in JcPenney does not. Any who. I asked for a sample, but the associate was saying she couldn't give me one because their sample pods were out. o.O I was confused about what they were talking about thinking they had actual sample tubes or something like that, but come to realize, they were talking about generic pods they use to put samples in. Well, I came back today and followed up about these pods. The backorder of these pods hadn't come in yet, but the associate said she could give me one if I didn't mind their ghetto version: putting it in a mini zip lock bag. On a normal day I would have probably given Sephora a 2 or 1 star review - or not bothered reviewing them at all. But, this week, I had the pleasure of working with THE nicest associate I've ever come across at a Sephora, and for that, I say they are A-OK. I walked in looking for ideas I can use and do for a wedding. I'd just come from the MAC counter at Macy's and was ready to drop some dough on a palette. Sadly, only MAC pro stores carry palettes. So, in my search for other make up related things, I decided to walk into Sephora. Now, I normally walk in and out of this store without so much as a "hello there" or any kind of greeting, so I didn't expect anything more this day. I was surprised however, when Audrey greeted me warmly, and answered all my questions, and even showed me numerous products and gave me countless pointers on what to do for the wedding. (Did I mention this would be the first time I would be doing someone else's make up? Talk about the pressure!) She and I were literally walking around the store for at least 15 minutes. It was great. She was honestly, the best make up associated I'd ever come across. EVER. She did say she had different clients on photo shoots and bridal parties, so I'm guessing she ACTUALLY has experience in make up and as an artist and isn't just a make up lover like most associates are - and that's the reason they don't know how to answer questions. That's just my opinion though. As for the store itself, it's clean, it's easy to find products, and they have a bunch of testers for your to play with. It gets a little cramped up when it's busy so just try to go in the off peak hours. Also, they do give "makeovers" for $50, but the $50 does go towards any merchandise you purchase that day. If this was just a review on Audrey, she'd get a 5 star review, no doubt. However, since this is for the store, I'll compromise and give it a 3 star review. read more

I feel like i go to the Buford Sephora like way too often and i dont want the cute guy to think im stalking him. Every now and then, i drive up to this location. As far as inventory, its about the same as the Buford location(not going to compare with Lenox cos that's where the big boys play). I did notice recently that they have the small bottle of the Koh Gen Doh cleansing spa water in the check out line. I asked the manager if they have the full line but of course not!! Felt really uncomfortable in this store. Employees keep following you and constantly eying what you're doing. One of the workers saw me open the box because I wanted to make sure I was purchasing the correct item and she right away reprimanded me saying that if it's wrong I can always return it? I'm a frequent Ulta shopper, more out of convenience because it's closer to my home and near stores I shop at the most in the Vinings area, and because it has a nice mix of 'prestige brands' like Urban Decay, Lorac, and Benefit, and drugstore options like NYX, Maybelline, and L'Oreal, etc. However, I felt like I needed a shopping change, and when I saw that Sephora was in North Point Mall near my job, I had to stop in. I went in today to browse around and sample things. There's Hourglass, NARS, Urban Decay, Benefit, Makeup Forever, YSL, Fresh, Philosophy, Soap and Glory, and everything in between, with also some skin and hair care brands, and a wall full of fragrances. The store is neat, clean, and things are easily accessible. I was helped by a young lady named Autumn with matching some foundations to my skin tone during this particular visit. She put together some samples for me to take home. Also, she and another young lady, whose name I cannot remember for nothing right now, put together some fragrance samples I've been wanting to test out. Saved me from further spraying different perfumes on different parts of my arms to see if I liked them, lol. Pros: carry a wide range of shades in Fenty, especially darker shades Cons: poor customer service and a racial incident. The poor customer service may be related to staffing issues given the pandemic, which is why the review is 3/5 instead of 2/5. However, both times I have visited this establishment, I was not greeted when I walked in, despite saying hello to some associates. One time, I waited at the checkout for ten or so minutes with a growing line of customers while an associate helped another customer right by the checkout. I did not want the associate to stop what they were doing with the other customer to help me, but an acknowledgment of "we'll be with you in a moment" would have been nice. During another incident, I asked to get shade matched again in Fenty Beauty, as it had been about 2 years since my first shade match. However, my skin tone hasn't changed much, so I didn't expect much deviation from 450. The associate surprised me by suggesting 490 on me, even though I said that was too dark for my complexion. They fought with me, saying that I was too dark for a 450. I tried on the 490 to show that it was too dark, and it looked like a big burn mark on my forehead. The associate then tried other shades before saying that 450 was the right shade for me. Then at the counter, the associate recommended a dark spot corrector sample for me, but said that it was a "skin lightening" creme. I do suffer from hyperpigmentation, but I felt that saying it would lighten my skin implied that I was too dark. I was pretty traumatized after this experience, and I hesitate to recommend this store, especially to people with darker complexions read more

The WORST Sephora store I have ever been to. I spend a lot each year at Sephora, mostly shop online because of the beauty rewards but sometimes I have to go to the actual store which was the case here. I had to return some items that I purchased online using PayPal. Sephora cannot refund back to PayPal, but instead issue a store gift card which is fine because I know I'll use it. Unfortunately the sales girl gave me a store credit for $350 instead of a gift card,(gift cards are the company policy when returning merchandise purchased online with PayPal) which I didn't realize until I got home. Store credits can only be used in-store whereas a gift card can be used for online purchases as well. I called the store immediately and spoke to a very nice Manager named Beth. She told me all I needed to do was come back to the store and they would transfer the store credit to a gift card. She also apologized for the error saying the girl at the register who helped me was stilling training and was not aware of the gift card policy. A few days later I went to the store and came across a sales associate named Christian. He was nice at first until I explained the situation that I needed the store credit transferred to a gift card, which is the COMPANY POLICY not to mention is what a manager by the name of Beth had told me on the phone. He said he wouldn't be able to do it because to transfer the funds to a gift card would be illegal and he didn't want to go to jail. I told him that it was not my fault that the funds were not correctly put on a GC and once again, he told me to help me would be illegal. I asked to speak to his manager and he rolled his eyes while whispering into his headset,"the lady at the register is asking for her GC to be transferred to a store credit and I am telling her it's illegal. She wants to speak to you." As he's doing this I can see the blond manager across the store speaking back to him. Then Christian says to me,"the store manager agrees it's illegal and she cannot help you." I was furious at this point and asked for the manager's name and Christian says,"That's confidential." I looked at him and said,"Really, confidential? You all wear NAME TAGS!!! Are you kidding me right now?" He shrugged and said extremely sarcastically,"Sorry. Have a GREAT day and go out spreading that happiness you exude" I left the store really angry and upset but as I was leaving I came across another SA and asked her what the Managers name was and she replied, "LINDA." If you look through these yelp reviews you'll see Linda's name quite extensively. People have used the words, "terrible, liar, gossiper and lazy" to describe their experience with her. I do not know about the gossiper accusation but all the other words seem to fit appropriately. She seems to set a tone for her employees, particularly Christian which they all file in line behind her and follow. To conclude my experience, I ended up calling the 800# of Sephora customer service and explained the situation to them. The first woman I spoke to seemed genuinely appalled at the situation and elevated my complaint with an urgency promising I would hear back from someone within 48 hours. When that didn't happen, I called again. They located the original complaint and apologized no one had called me back. She promised that someone would call and eventually someone did. They transferred the $350 funds from a store credit to an online credit which I very much preferred. I will NEVER step foot in the Northpoint Sephora again, at least not while Linda and Christian work at that location. Not to be dramatic but I seriously have never been so mistreated at a store as I was that day. I have to think that if Sephora knew the extent of the Management's behavior they would definitely terminate them. read more

I have a love-hate relationship with Sephora. I definitely don't mind shopping online, but actually going into the stores? Psh. I'm sorry, but Sephora stores are a joke. The gals who work there know next to nothing and they always have this snobby air about them. Also, if I spend almost $150 in one go, I expect to be paid a little bit more attention than the average bear. This doesn't mean telling me, "Oh, hey, I'm giving you free samples!!!" and stuffing two TINY plastic containers, holding who-knows-what... AND THEN, when I arrive home to check 'em out with much anticipation, discover that I have absolutely no idea what one is for (and it is for single use only, so who knows just how effective or ineffective it is...) and the other is completely EMPTY. Can you believe this? They gave me a sample with NOTHING in it! What happened to giving samples in the actual brand's original container?? Scam! Oh, and at one point, I was asking the chick for tips on foundation (MY GAWD I don't understand why I keep asking these people for opinions when I know they are clueless... I'm stupid!), so she points me to many different possibilities and offers to put it on my face. Well, I agree - mistake! She wipes off the tinted moisturizer I had on before and she slathers, cakes on, and layers all this goopy mess. I look at her and go, "Umm I don't like this. It looks very... cakey. It doesn't look natural. Don't you think?" This was my nice way of saying, "You suck at this and don't you dare tell me it looks perfect. I'll know when you're lying!" Well. She takes a quick look and ventures to say that finishing powder will make everything better. God knows why I put up with her. I knew it'd look no better. I tell her I hate it and she wipes everything off, so I spend the rest of my day with no foundation, let alone sunscreen or moisturizer. Rude. Sephora stores suck supremely. Alliteration at its best. Online shopping is way better. I wish someone besides Ulta would compete and play this beauty game because I hate how I have no other option. I love Sephora because it's a fun atmosphere and a great place to try something new and different with your makeup. The girls who work there DO know what they are talking about and, because I'm a regular shopper at the North Point location, I know that a lot of them have worked there for a long time. A lot of times they know what I'm talking about when I'm looking for a product that I used to use/love years ago but can't seem to remember the name of, only what the package looks like, or the color but not the brand...I think that's impressive! If you're looking for a buttoned-up, stuck-up, up-tight kind of makeup retailer then I'd suggest you try some of the department store counters who are looking to make a commission off of you...If you understand that its MAKEUP, not brain surgery and that it's really not all that serious the head to a Sephora and play and have fun! They do charge $50 for makeovers, but honestly if you expect an artist to spend time making you look great you should be buying something anyway. As a rouge member, it's supposed to be a "benefit". Was assigned to Holly. She was quite rude and unhelpful. She talked about hydration and moisturizer interchangeably to me in a condescending tone. She didn't help me at all. Totally dismissive. She passed me off to a lady who was aggressively pushing some Amore Pacifica line. She must rep just that line. The eye cream was $400+ a small container. I left with no help, no samples and very frustrated. Christian is always helpful to me when he's there. These ladies shouldn't be working there. Okay, so I am a makeup fanatic. I have shopped at a lot of different places and this is by far the best Sephora and makeup place in general I've ever been to. Every Sephora carries the same products, but this Sephora sets them all apart because of their customer service. I was greeted as I walked in and then asked if I needed any help by a Becky.
