This Sephora location has the WORST team working the floor. I just came to get some stuff and asked for a sample of a product but the lady in charge didn't even let me ask for it and straight asked for me to buy any and return if didn't work for me... as I was trying to get help because I needed an expert's opinion for my sensitive oily acne prone face skin, she didn't even offer help for me to find a match for my skin. They were all chitchatting in the cashier area as it was more important than helping out the customers. Both me and my sister received a bad demeanor from 3 out of 4 employees. We felt like we were asking for favors, even just talking to the team felt like asking them a favor instead of getting serviced as customers. read more

Unfriendly (especially the female cashier who's name I believe begins with BL-no greeting, no apology for the 20+ min wait in line, no acknowledgement of being a member or mention of points to inquire if i wanted to use any points, and tried to deny me a receipt for my purchase because of her lack of training of changing the receipt roll, to boot she allowed a random women to skip me as she wanted to "check stock" and all of a sudden it turned into a purchase), Inefficient stock (95% of what I went in for was unavailable, shelves predominantly empty), long lines with only two registers, and no one available to assist customers even if you need it. I'll stick to the Manhattan locations because although they aren't too friendly they normally have ample stock, shorter wait times and don't give unnecessary attitude at checkout. Sooooo Pumped Sephora is in my neighborhood! This is a brand spanking new Sephora location in the Bronx in the Bay Plaza Mall & it is every bit of Sephora fabulous-ness. The staff is knowledgeable, warm & congenial. This location has all of the well known to go to Sephora items as in most Sephora stores. Check out time was quick & I was able to maneuver around the store well as it was not crowded. I will probably be shopping here as it's in my neighborhood & I have to support the Bronx. read more

I would give zero if I could. I just went into Sephora that I frequent often, and the new layout looks like THREE Sephora's threw up in there. As soon as you walk in, you practically run into two displays. They put showrooms amount of displays into that small space. I feel like if they could fit more, they would. It is so tight, so compact, so claustrophobic that I could not breathe. I wanted to shop around but could not. I complained to an associate who said he would share the feedback. I told him I just wanted to get my stuff and leave. At the register I complained again because they had the audacity with their limited space to create a maze to get to the register. I had to yell out to the associate to ask where do I enter? The entrance was by the register! It's so asinine that I would love to meet the idiot who designed this layout and the idiot who said, "THAT IS GENIUS!" After I went through the labyrinth, I complained to the associate there who said, "you don't like it?" It's horrible! I tried to get some assistance from them but could not take it and finally said I just wanted to leave and left all my products (over $85 worth) at the counter. I couldn't breathe. It is disgustingly oversaturated that just triggers anxiety. Not returning until that has changed. HORRIBLE!!! Get a bigger space, because I cannot imagine what it is like when it is packed. This Sephora has nothing in stock all the testers were either empty or not there and no one even offered me help the last time I went. This is the second time I've gone and been disappointed with my experience. In general all the Sephora stores I've been to have been the same experience. read more

I've never had a bad sephora experience until I came to this store today. The employees in this specific sephora had nasty attitudes and were actually very aggressive with their actions, nobody wanted to help. I love Sephora and never had a bad experience ever! Until today I went to the store in Bay Plaza to ask for an exchange for a perfume I had bought last month. The perfume's top had broke like a week after purchasing it but I wasn't able to return it until today. Explained the situation but I was screwed because I had an e-receipt but was unable to locate it because I get so much email from them, instead gave them my account number. At first the lady next to my cashier was like the purchase was made in October and they cannot do anything, to which am like thats not true, i didn't remember the date so couldn't say exactly when. I got the number for corporate who did find the transaction date which was in December and well within the 30 days. The corporate employee stayed on the phone while I reentered the store. A new cashier helped me and for the most part everyone was super nice and helpful and was willing to resolve the issue and they then found my transaction for the perfume. Everyone was trying to help me then the lady who told me the wrong date in the beginning turns out to be the store manager came and her energy was horrible along with her attitude, who didn't want to do the exchange and was asking the store members if they spoke to corporate as if I was lying. She was so unprofessional and told me that it's not me but they were scammed which is NOT MY PROBLEM! I have been a good customer to Sephora and rarely shop at this one as they don't really have anything and took the perfume back to that store since I bought it there. The store manager made things worst and she is just horrible, that's not something you do to a paying customer in front of other people. Her energy got to one of the staff who then was nasty. I didn't do anything to your store so don't try and blame me for your shortcoming! Everybody else was wonderful and nice but for this I have to give Sephora a thumbs down today! read more

I just recently went to this Sephora to do an exchange for some products that I love, just needed the correct color. An associate named David went above and beyond to assist me with this, I was blown away by his patience, product knowledge and his willingness to learn what I needed and not rush me. He even helped me when it came time for check out at the register ! The one hiccup I had was when I got to the register and the young lady who was also very friendly, did the exchange for the same exact products but told me I had to pay a difference since the promotion I had used previously was over. That part didn't make sense and if I had not know any better, wouldn't have protested. But David came right over and fixed it and even said bye to me using my name ! I've been a Sephora shopper for years, never once had this great of an experience ! All in all my experience was pleasant. Everything was cleaned and they even coached me about them being a touch free store after taking my temperature and advising me to keep my mask on at all times. read more

UPDATE:: I went back to this location today so that I could express the experience that I had directly to the store manager. I went with the intentions of returning the $400 purchase that I made yesterday but the manager was so lovely today. I really wish that I remembered his name. I expressed that the experience that I had yesterday made me very disappointed with the customer service to the point that I woke up with it on my mind and had to come back. I explained that the experience felt rushed a d the customer service did not feel genuine. The manager assigned me to Kourtney who was just fabulous. Kourtney really gave me the attention that I was looking for the day before. She and I realized that the foundation and concealer that was recommended to me the day before were not a match for me and recommended a new color that is now a perfect match. Kourtney also introduced me to some new products and gave me 6 samples to try at home. The customer service was excellent today and even when I expressed my concerns to the manager he took my feedback very seriously. I left this location today feeling like the Queen that I am and pleased with the customer service and a restored faith in the Sephora store located within my Bronx community. Horrible experience. I went to find a new perfume and sample one, as Sephora usually allows you to sample 3 fragrances. I was told that due to Covid it could not be done. Not sure how that works. I will be going to Ulta or Macy's instead for my fragrance needs. Shame. read more

I visited this location looking to make a purchase of over $300.00 but that did not happen. As I walked in I encountered some of the most unprofessional, rude employees. I was NEVER greeted and I was walking around the store in circles looking for products that was on my list. I noticed two female associates in the back having their own personal conversation, so I walked over and said "Good Morning Ladies... Can you please help me out? I'm looking to make a purchase of a few products that I just don't see or maybe overlooked." One of the female associates immediately put her hand up to silence me and told me to wait, she turned her back and she continued to talk to her co-worker. She was extremely rude. I was totally shocked by her behavior and her body language. She was a brash hood rat associate with no coof about herself. After she finished her conversation she then turned around and said "What do you need help with?" I started to tell her how unprofessional she was but I remained professional. She took the face scrub off the cart and handed it to me. I made it very clear that I wanted to purchase multiple items but I guess that flew straight over her head. She gave me the item and walked away. So unprofessional. She never bothered to ask if I needed anything else or tell me anything about the product. So I asked the other associate she was talking to about another product. She made a heavy sigh and gave me the look as if she did not want to be bothered or even wanted to work. She was also unprofessional, lazy and rude. Once she handed me the gift set she walked away. I began asking about the other items I wanted and she didn't even bother to pay me any attention. I then walked over to the cashier for help and I thought she would be of some help but clearly was I wrong she was also unprofessional, lazy and useless. She didn't want to help me with anything. I placed the items down on the counter and walked out. That was my final draw. I refuse to spend money in a place where the workers are rude, lazy and unprofessional. They all need customer service training. My visit was early in the morning so they should all have been refreshed and ready to work. This is one of the WORST locations I've visited and I will NEVER EVER return. I encouraged a middle aged African American woman (associate) a young Hispanic woman (associate) and a heavy set Hispanic woman (cashier). Each and everyone of them were horrible and they need to change jobs and work in an Amazon warehouse and deal with boxes. read more

Great Experience at Sephora at Bay Plaza Mall. Upon entering, I greeted by a lovely lady who nicely explained the safety rules (masks etc) and I was given a shopping bag which she sprayed with sanitizer. Once inside, the store was empty (a Friday a little after 12:00pm) That was great!!! The Beauty Advisor that helped me was Jay!!! Jay was polite, courteous and professional, and assisted me in finding just what I was looking for. The cashier was also very pleasant. Although there is another Sephora in JCP inside the mall, I didn't like it. It may have been the time and day that I went ( Mid December on a Friday around 3:00pm) this location outside of the mall is perfect, especially if you don't want to be bothered with all of the hustle and bustle of mall crowds. I wanted to take the customer satisfaction survey, but I was unable to access the link so I thought I write a review instead. Overall great customer service and Jay gets 10 stars read more
