If I can give this Sephora in Modesto a 0 i would. So one day i called in Sephora to make sure a item was in fact in stock & a girl answered. Told me the item WAS in stock and she was able to put it on hold for me until the end of the day. Keep in mind i lived 50 minutes away. So when I got to Sephora a girl, very nice told me that unfortunately they were doing inventory and there was no way I could get it today. I told her I drove 50 minutes away just to pick it up because a girl that I talked to earlier that day told me she was able to put it on hold for me. I was kind of upset but they REASSURED me that they were able to give it to me the next day & that they never put items on hold for anybody so they were making an exception for me. Told me not to worry that the item was going to be there for me the next day. I left, but the next day I called them once again just to make sure the item was there and they were able to give it to me so i wouldn't drive once again 50 minutes. The girl reassured me it was there waiting for me and to pick it up whenever. Weeeeeeeeeelllllllllll, i got there & waited in line just so the cashiers can kick me out of line not even explaining why I can't get the pallete. I tried telling the cashier girl what happened and she basically kept cutting me off my sentences having a bad attitude. So I told her if I can please speak with a manager, and so I waited & waited, wondering why the manager wasn't coming. Turns out the cashier girl never called the manager, she was infront of me the whole time. So I finally spoke with the manager and she apoligized for the whole mess and her associates bad communication and poor customer service. She also asked me who was the girl who helped me, and when I went to point out ONE of the girls, she looked at me so confused and made it look like she didn't recognize me. I told her the other girls name who helped me and i HOPE they did something about it. This store has poor customer service. The girls who work there are rude and always in a bad mood when you ask them questions. They customer serviced me more than the usual, and i worked retail so i know when associates think someone is being fishy, but they did it to me more than the usuall, kept following me around making me feel uncomfortable and made me want to leave. I am never coming back to this sephora. I hope they read this and get to improve there lack of communication and bad customer service read more

I walked in here on 4/9/17 at 3:30 ad it was the WORST customer service ever!!!!! The manager here is the rudest person i have ever met i am extremely disappointed i have never had such an experience like this one i went in there trying to return some products that i received as a gift and didn't work out for me practically new and they refuesd to do a return i had to tell them that i knew for a fact that i could return them because i had done it before at different sephora location and that i have a relative that works at sephora and verifyed that all i need is an id for them to agree to try do do a refund and even then said i culdnt do a refund because my id had been declined because i had previously done a return and that i was only allowed to do this once how in the world do they expect someone to buy something or recive something as a gift and not be able to return it just because you have already done a refund before that is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard i have gone to multiple sephora locations before and never had this problem when i asked if my cousin could return the products for me with her id they refused and said it was against policy it was ridiculous all i wanted to do was have her return the products for me she was present and had her id so why they would not do it i don't understand like i said i have a relative that works at sephora and when i asked her she said that they could i can't believe that even the manager was not willing to help me they care more about their sales that they are not willing to do a refund or exchange just so that there sales wont drop never had i ever experienced such a thing at a sephora location everywhere i go everyone is so nice and helpful i am extremely disappointed with their service i am NEVER going back to this location ever which is extremely disappointing since i just moved here and it is the closest location i have but i am willing to take a longer drive if i will receive the customer service that i expect read more

terrible place to shop period. Word of advice you want high end makeup do yourslef a favor and go to macys. Ana one of the managers here is so unprofessional when it comes to helping customers. They also have a large african american woman that wears glasses she is also a manager and oh lord she is a a pain in the A**! I went there to do an exchange I went and got the mascaras I was exchanging for but had the ones I needed to exchange in my hand because I forget the name since theres so many different versions of it and I wanted to look at them to make sure I was getting the right one instead of having to go in my purse. Either way this ghetto manager followed me around and kept looking at my hands and kept telling me to put it all in the shopping bag and I told her I don't need one I am almost done and she put the bag in my hand anyway and continued to follow me. When I got to the front I gave the girl my mascaras and the mascaras I wanted and then shaniqua comes and says were did you put the other mascaras?! I said I gave them to the cashier and she took my Identification went to the back to check the cameras and my return/exchange/purchase history.. talk about bad customer service who the hell wants to go back to a store like that? Finally she did the exchange and I asked her when will another manager be in because I'd like to talk to somebody about this and she said with the fakest smile I have ever seen I took care of it didn't i? SO I WOULD NOT EVER GO TO THIS STORE EVER EVER AGAIN! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I love Sephora. I love every experience in EVERY location I have been to. It is my favorite place to spend any extra money I have. I have had makeovers there (recently) and I disagree completely with the apparently bitter former employee - the women there taught me how to apply make up in a manner that is right for me. I appreciated that they always asked my opinion and allowed me to be a part of the make over. In addition, the 2 times I have had my make up done there I NEVER felt that I had to purchase anything, I wanted to purchase everything they put on me, and they helped me determine the things I actually HAD to have (suprisingly, it wasn't all of it!). My take on this Sephora? it's fun, the employees are kind, and I genuinely feel they want to take care of my needs. A few final words for the woman who said she USED TO worked there - I remember you from when the store first opened - your face is hard to forget. I had a non-pleasant experience with you, you made me feel like you didn't want to help me. I don't know when or why you left, but I think the "two faced, morbidly obese store manager" is probably better off without you. I think it's funny that you make fun of a fat person, as you, my dear do not look fit. You also sound a little bit racist by calling another employee Ghetto and refer to her speaking ebonics. If your definition of "TALENT" is being able to apply black circles around your eyes like a racoon, being unpleasant to customers, extremely judgemental, and at least borderline racist, I am completely fine with Sephora only training their employees about product knowledge. OMG!!!!! finally finally finally! Sephora has come to town! I can get my Cargo one base, my Kat Von D eye shadow, my Ole Henriksen body souffle, my make up forever aqua eyes, my urban decay primer potion (in SIN), my LASHES TO DIE FOR (my splurge item), my crazy Givenchy Phenomeneyes, my Philosophy HELP ME, my Clarisonic replacement brushes, my cosmedicine Healthy Cleanse, my GoSmile teeth whitening ampules, my hourglass lipglosses, my AMAZING Phyto hair supplements (OMG!), my La Vanilla fragrances.... Right down the street. IN MODESTO!?!?!?!?!?! I must have died and gone to heaven! I hope my charge cards can handle this. I might have a beauty stroke! They have been pretty busy when I have been in, I have had to wait in line a little longer than I wanted, however.... The salespeople are so nice, they offer samples of just about anything you would want (if they don't offer, you only have to ask - it's totally awesome), and i can't say enough about the Beauty Insider program - I like getting free stuff - even if it's not exactly what I wanted.. This place is terrible! as soon as you walk in the stare you down and give you mean disgusting looks like you are not wanted there for some reason.. I have returned a few things without a receipt because when I first bought them i thought once you buy it it's yours (i know i was naive/dumb to think that) until i heard one of my friends say that they are supposed to have the best return policy ever and she was wrong!!! I called the 800 number and told them look i bought a few items and i was not happy i held on to them because they are $30-$60 a piece so i was going to give them away but if you are willing to take them back I would appreciate it. The lady said sure bring it to the store closest to you. I did and the whole time I was followed I even had somebody standing behind me while I did my return and the girl was a ghetto rude B! I love the variety of products, the store cleanliness and organization. However........ the staff will nag, hound, and harass you from the moment you walk in the door and it absolutely RUINS my shopping experience every time. It really gets annoying when you're literally having to respond to them every 30 seconds. It distracts me from my shopping and then I just get bitter. I don't want to feel forced into selecting something just to get the employees off my back. I know they're trying to be helpful, but I already know that if I'm in a store and I have questions, it is up to me to ASK for help, not wait around for someone to rescue me. I went in bought 125 worth of things asked for a girl to do a smokey eye with one of the palettes i bought and she made me look like a raccoon. When I have questions, they answer them. If I need help, they are there for me. If I just want to look, they let me, but don't forget about me. I have been a huge Sephora fan for years. Glad to have one here in modesto. What I love the most is that the sales people are not crazy commissioned like in department stores and I actually think they want to help me find what is best for me.
