Worst experience I've ever had at this location with Iliana the manager giving such a bad attitude for a rouge client!! I shop for thousands every month as it's obvious on my account. Today I came to return SK II product and I had closed my card that I paid with so I asked her if she can put it on my different account she said no I can't it has to be either same account or store credit plus I had the recipe for it and I purchased it 2 weeks ago why would she put it on store credit. She had the worst attitude I don't even know how she is a manager or how she even work there! I've been to other Sephoras and they're staff are so sweet.. this experience was the worst and so upsetting for a rouge customer!!! read more

If I could I would give this store 0 stars. Never returning to this store! Horrible customer service! I walked in with my fiancé. We were never acknowledged upon entering the store nor when walking around looking at products. There were maybe about 4 customers in the store & the employees just standing around talking. I know that they saw us in store because I made eye contact with one of the girls. Seeing that they were not interested in making any sales, we decided to walk out. I will never step foot in a sephora store ever again! I was ready to blow my money, I went to buy a few things and unfortunately they didn't hve anything I was looking for. As soon as I walked in I noticed the two employees by the entrance immediately stop talking and just stared at my sister and I. We were walking around for a few minutes then I noticed the security but I didn't want to cause a scene or be rude so we continued to look around but it was so uncomfortable we just left. I don't understand why we were being followed but it was rude. I made eye contact with at least 5 employees including the two at the door, If they felt like we were going to steal something why couldn't they walk up to us and ask if we needed help instead of sending security to babysit us?! DINELLO & ALLY Disappointed me to the point where this was my first & last visit to this Sephora location. DiNello has purple & pink stiles in his hair & Ally was an older women who was a wannabe ash blonde, attitude adjustments need to be made. First off the store was full of uninformative employees who did not want to assist properly. During my 10 minute excursion through the store making my way barely halfway through I got stopped by A girl at first giving my friends and I a basket which we did not need, telling us to put our products in the basket when my friend only had two things in her hands. I put the basket down and continued walking through the store with my friend and was then approached by a large male who seemed like he was some type of an authority and he went by the name DiNello, he advised me to put my nonexistent products in another basket that he was trying to hand to me. He repeatedly told me to put my fenty products in the basket when I then told him that my friend was purchasing fenty products and directed him in her direction as she was standing there with multiple fenty products in her hand. My friend Saw me pointing at her as she was talking to another associate and I walked up to her with the basket and told her what this man had said to me. My friend then decided not to purchase the items and approached the man and told him that he lost a customer and let him know that was very unprofessional he said he did not care. This is harassment, we were the only fucking white girls in there & we were absolutely being discriminated. My friend was waking around with a service animal who was an American Stafordshire Terrier & we feel we were being picked out because of this reason as well, litigation could possibly occur because of this situation due to false accusations. I believe a harsh reprimand for the employees involved. read more

This Sephora used to be not as nice as other locations but it recently cleaned up SO much. I love the new ladies in charge and their management seems to be really helping the quality of the store. I'm hooked to Sephora! The staff is friendly and I always get asked if I need assistance right away! In a particular case, I was being assisted by one of their employees and she was discussing product with me and I casually ask her if they had the Anastasia contour kit, which she said no. Then I kid you not 2 minutes later another employee comes and interrupts our conversation to say that she didn't mean to pry but that she overheard my interest in the kit and that there was one randomly hanging around. I quickly grabbed it and claimed it since the kit was out of stock at the time! That's what is great customer service, she went out of her way to ensure I received the product I desired. First let me say, I love Sephora. This particular one though, not so much. I went in to get the skin/ foundation match and was told that the machine wasn't working WTF?! I don't understand why something that Sephora heavily advertises, is not working. I drove almost an hour in nightmare traffic to find this bs. The service was terrible, I waited almost 30 minutes to get a foundation match. Pros: Parking is convenient here, they take JC Penney gift cards, there is usually less of a crowd here as opposed to the Sephora store in the same mall. Cons: They only carry a fraction of the items that they carry in the actual Sephora stores. They also don't carry all the same brands. Now, a story: I got an email letting me know I could pick up a deluxe sample of Makeup Forever HD foundation with purchase ONLY AT SEPHORA INSIDE JC PENNEY. I hightailed it over there and the lady that helped me said that they did not carry that sample. What? Bummer. This is also how I learned that they don't carry the brand of skin care I was going to purchase to get the foundation sample, but I digress. So, I went to the actual Sephora store in the same mall to get my skin care, and I explained my sample dilemma to a lady there, and she actually offered to honor the email coupon even though it was a "JC Penney only" promotion! They also didn't carry the Makeup Forever sample but she offered me a Kat Von D concealer sample instead! I was very happy with that. Although the customer service at JC Penney was not bad, I really appreciate the girl at the Sephora store going a step above to make me happy. They should have offered me a different product instead at JC Penney because I might have bought something there too. I'm sure JC Penney corporate would much rather I spend my money there than elsewhere. All in all, I would return for a quick buy because parking is super convenient. read more

I've read numerous stories about Sephora employees thinking they're better than customers. They take one look at costumers and assume they can't afford things or are going to steal so they are rude and shame people for thinking they could shop at Sephora. I've never had that happen to me until I stepped into this horrible Sephora inside JC Penney's. I am a VIB Rouge member. I shop at Sephora more than any other store. I know how it works and I've even been told that I can go through the bottom drawers to look for things that aren't in stock. Well yesterday around 3/4pm I went to buy a palette for my niece. They didn't have any Naked Reloaded in stock so I asked an older tall Caucasian woman with a blonde/white updo if they had any in the back. She told me to speak to the cashier because they aren't allowed to have any Naked Palettes on display. That was clearly a lie and I pointed it out to her as many other Nakeds were on display and had many behind to purchase. She realized I caught her first lie so she looked in the drawers and found one. I reached out for it but she refused to hand it to me and said it needed to stay at the register until I paid. I'm African American and Asian and I am 25 years old but she probably though I was a teenager because I look super young and I had no makeup on as I was running errands. When my mother and nieces walked in she was overly kind to them so I walked over to make sure she knew I was with them. And then I asked if there were any real Sephora's inside this mall because I didn't want to give her commission for being a racist pos. We were all appalled by her behavior and my mother wanted to return after I explained what happened because she was furious. We know how Sephora works. We've NEVER been told that we had to leave merchandise at the front while shopping. Clearly this lady was racist and thought I was going to steal it so I was livid and told her we're going to the other Sephora because they're actually nice and not racist. We will never step foot inside this horrid establishment ever again. read more

I went in today for a few items and was helped by an amazing person. Her name was Roxy and she was fantastic! She was so sweet and helpful. After I made a purchase I asked her a question about an item I didn't see in stock and she personally walked me over to where the brand was and checked to see if there was any in stock but underneath and sure enough there was! She was extremely pleasant and just a breath of fresh air ( I say this having worked retail specifically skincare and make up before). This review is for Vianca. I made an appointment for a custom makeover since I needed some products and figured I'd kill two birds with one stone. I walked in around 4pm and she was the only one who greeted me despite the fact that she was already busy with another customer. I checked in with her and wandered a bit until my appointment time came. Once in the chair, I showed her a few pictures of what I wanted and she began the transformation- I say transformation because I don't wear a full face of makeup often. She took her time explaining each process and product that was going to be used. Overall, I left a super happy camper. My gorgeous makeup lasted until 3am! I'd definitely return to have Vianca do my makeup again. I was peeved about a sales associate lugging a group of 8 cleints (a whole family) right next to where we were to show an application of a product. Space is limited and can get annoying with such situations. read more

Also make sure when you ask for help, its from a consultant that works for that section. People don't understand that the employee aren't all makeup artist. They all have section they work in. Horrible experience I feel very disappointed in how management thinks they could fool you. I had a very bad experience. I went shopping to this Sephora first time ever at the northridge fashion mall. I was helped by a pregnant girl for a color match which I though they did with a scanner/camera which she didn't even use that I told her I wanted to try out the tarts water base foundation she basically just looked at the color and picked one for me I said yes to it because that's what she told me went with me. Anyways as I was going to pay I came across an urban decay mist spray it was sample size so thought I would try it out. When the cashier said she could help me I gave her my stuff I had a brush the tarte cover up water base and a benefit cosmetics primer. As I was going to pay I asked the girl if I can redeem some of my rewards she said yes they had a Tory burch on display and I asked if I can smell it she went around the counter and she helped me I liked how it smelled so I told her I would take it. When she gave me my total which was 134$ I was a little thrown off because I thought it was a little too much but then that's where I messed up I didn't check my receipt till I got home the cashier charged me for a tarte 12hr foundation in the color tan $39.00 as soon as I realized I called the store spoke to the manager and she told me they were going to check the footage and call me back. Today she called me back and told me the footage showed the item was placed in my bag and I walked out of the store with it. I checked every single bag I had that day and this item was not found within my belongings. I don't want to make assumptions but the girl that charged me either did a price check on this item and forgot to remove it or she scanned it and put it in another bag or even kept it for herself since she was tan just like the foundation that was charged and I know the color it was because my sephora app shows the items I have purchased there and the color was really dark I'm fair skin so that's something I explained to the manager her conclusion to my bad experience was to have me look through my things again and check if it was found. So I did and i never got that item I explained to her that I live in Palmdale and there was no way I was going to go all the way again to northridge to get my money back if I was even going to get it back since that's how much I would waste in gas I explained it was very inconvenient and I felt very disappointed and upset I wanted my money in a gift card and mailed to my home this review is for the customers out there to please check your receipt before you step out I posted this review on to sephora corporate office I hope the footage was really looked at I'm pretty sure someone stoled it and charged me for it. read more

I adore this store, it is the only place I buy my makeup even when everyone tells me it's too expensive, but the makeup quality is worth it. As for this Sephora location, I love it, great service, as soon as I take a step inside I'm asked if I need assistance, which I appreciate, because I'm 17 but look 12, and in any store, or anyplace really, people don't take me seriously, and will usually ignore me even if I ask them for assistance, but this is not the case for Sephora, at least this location, because the one in Sherman Oaks has some really snobby SA's. Been shopping here for about a year and a half, and will keep going. read more

I went in last Friday to check out foundations when I met the most personable, knowledgeable, and skilled retail employee I have ever met! If you ever get a chance to come to this sephora, find Derek and experience what it's like to be treated like a VIP. He is very no-nonsense and creative, and inspired me to try/buy products I would have never known I liked. He is a very skilled MUA and I actually trust/respect his opinion (I hate people that sell just to sell). I couldn't believe how much time he was willing to spend on me, especially on a busy Friday. This isn't my closest Sephora but it is now my go-to because it is quite honestly the best customer experience I've had in a very long time. Walked in, wasn't greeted, wasn't offered a basket, no one approached me. I looked around the store got an item...tried approaching 3 employees who were helping other customers, they saw me & didn't make an effort to even tell me that they were helping someone but would find someone to help me or anything. I didn't want to interrupt anyone so I went to the section where they did make up & waited... at least 5 employees passed me by. I was obviously standing waiting for help along with 3 other ppl. An employee finishes w a customer & says anyone else waiting for a color match? Some girl says yes, I say "me too" & follow the lady that makes me fill in a sign in sheet & i tell her i had been waiting & she assumed it was for the Rihanna foundation. I tell her no that it didn't have to be that one I just wanted to try a new foundation that matched me better then the one I had now. She didn't even ask which one & just took me to the Laura Mercier Rep. which wasn't busy...lucky for me the foundation matched me & she was helpful. The rest of the service was bad! I understand maybe some employees were busy bc of the new Rihanna foundation, but all the other employees walking around could be bothered? Not coming to this location again. read more
